Birds of a Feather Photography

m, we really felt like they cared about us as a couple. Not only is their photography spectacular, but they were truly a joy to work with and made everything smooth and seamless from beginning to end. We had a blast taking our engagement photos and felt so relaxed with them on our wedding day. We can’t imagine having spent the day with anyone else, and are looking when we can work together again.

photos, every photo that we have received has been just wonderful. They are timely in both arrival to the shoots and in delivering photos. Maggie, Betty and Maddie made our engagement photos and wedding day seamless. My husband is not a big fan of photos and Birds of a Feather worked with us to make sure we got all of the photos that I wanted as fast as possible while keeping the outstand quality and joking with us so that we had fun as well. They were just perfect.

usy ladies so definitely book them now!), always available to talk things over. They are funny and make each photography session, from the engagement shoot to the wedding portraits fun and breezy. We can’t recommend them enough! On the day of the wedding, they came early to make sure they got plenty of photos of the getting ready portion of the day, and they responded really well to last minute changes in the timeline due to my dad’s health. Maggie and Betty captured the last “good” moments of my dad’s life and gave us the greatest gift imaginable– fabulous photographs of him just 3 weeks before he died of cancer. We are eternally grateful for their stunning photography and their wonderful day-of management style which helped us stay on track and in the moment! We are also over the moon about our wedding album which they helped curate and entirely put together for us, sending us the gift of a lifetime that we can hardly put down! Maggie and Betty: thank you for helping make our wedding flow so seamlessly and for responding to our every request. When I contacted Maggie only a week or so after the wedding to (desperately) ask for any photos she had of my dad from that special day, so that we could share them with his hospital staff so they might know how big of a smile he has and so we can share some of our last truly wonderful memories with my dad at his funeral, she jumped right on it. Maggie cleaned up and sent us plenty of photos to work with right away. Thank you both for becoming a part of our family that weekend and capturing such beautiful and timeless moments at our wedding. With love, Veronica and Tyler

re to touch base throughout the process to let us know they hadn’t forgotten about us - they are the most thoughtful team, sending us care packages in the months leading up to the wedding and also sending a wedding gift which was so unexpected, but so kind! They were open to working with our wedding planner on the timeline to ensure that events were coordinated and aligned. When we needed to add an extra hour of coverage, they were incredibly flexible and accommodating in order to make sure all of our requested shots would be taken. They were with us from the early morning to get pictures of everyone getting ready, all the way until an hour before our reception ended to ensure dance floor shots! Maggie and Betty worked with us through two ceremonies on the same day and in different locations. We cannot emphasize how much fun they were to work with and how comfortable they made us feel during the photo shoots. They got our photos to us in what seemed like record time! We got married in September and they had our photos for us well before the holiday season so we were able to share them with our family during the holidays! The gallery they provided us was so organized and when I noticed a photo missing, I reached out to ask about it and they responded so quickly to fix the small issue. My husband and I cannot recommend Birds of a Feather enough - they are knowledgeable and passionate about wedding photography which made it an absolute joy to work with them. Thank you Maggie and Betty!!

e beautiful pictures, but they were the absolute best to work with. They were so supportive and kind throughout the whole day and which made us feel so much better about being in front of the camera. Betty and Maggy are so fun to be around and made it feel like our good friends were just hanging out with us all day taking pictures of us. All of our friends, some who aren't even engaged yet, have already told us they want Birds of Feather to photograph their wedding after seeing them at ours.

led multiple times due to weather, and they were very accommodating and helpful in suggesting alternative dates/locations for us. They were more than happy to include our dog in the engagement photos, and did a great job at photographing her as well. On our wedding day, Maggie and Betty were a joy to have around. They are calm, fun, and professional. They gave us great direction and made it easy for us behind the camera. We couldn’t have been happier. 100% recommend!

d their encouragement and cues lead to an amazing portfolio of photos. For the wedding, they thoughtfully worked with us to design a timeline and a plan that allowed us to enjoy our wedding day and the resulting pictures are elegant and timeless. They are true artists and also such kind people that were a joy to be around on the big day. We'll treasure them forever and cannot recommend them enough!

one else. Their experience in the DC area helped determine good locations for our first look and portraits. Despite some challenges like a changed date and venue and a very crowded Lincoln Memorial, everything went perfectly and they are the reason why! Birds of a Feather are the photographer for you if you are looking for someone to let you enjoy every moment of your event while still capturing the most beautiful moments you'll cherish forever.

d cool people (mom and daughter) and really felt like family who truly cared about making our wedding day a success. Throughout the entire process they were really fantastic. I planned our wedding by myself (ambitious I know) and they were super responsive to all my emails with questions, proposed timelines, etc. Maggie took the time to walk through my proposed day of timeline with me on quite a long phone call and pointed out considerations I hadn't thought of like timing of flowers, first look, importance of getting makeup done on time, and more. From the engagement shoot we knew right away that we picked the right team! My husband is not super into having his photo taken and they made him look like a natural and the pictures were gorgeous. By the time the wedding came he was well trained (HIGHLY recommend doing an engagement shoot!). On the day of the wedding, we felt like we were with in the absolute best hands. They kept the show running and orchestrated the first look amazingly. Can't say enough about how wonderful they were and how much fun I had doing couple's portraits! In terms of the actual photos we received, they were STUNNING! Just look at their body of work, which speaks for itself. When I browsed their website and IG page I immediately fell in love with their style that captures the beauty of the day and all the wonderful emotions that come with it! They gave us a good amount of photos really quickly after the wedding (I think it was 1-2 days or sooner) which I wasn't even expecting that quickly, but so nice! When we got the full album back, I was so happy. The portraits were beyond gorgeous and we got a great mix of the atmosphere of the day and pictures of our family and friends too. I'm glad I invested in their photography because these are pictures I'll look back on forever. I did A LOT of research on DC area photographers and just trust me when I say you will absolutely not regret booking with these wonderful ladies! They will make you feel so at ease during the day (worth its weight in gold) and you'll get amazing photos. I will think fondly of them forever :) Thank you SO much Maggie and Betty!

camera? Not to worry because Maggie provides the simplest cues to make everything look so genuine and just flat out real. They captured all the best moments of the day and were so flexible and adaptable to the weather and venue. Not to mention that they worked extremely well with our videographer team and always communicated well. Overall, we are so thankful that we chose Birds of a Feather photography and we love that we get to relive our big day over and over again through their incredible photos.

os and put me and my fiancé at ease the entire time. Our wedding was this past Saturday and two days later we’ve already received a quick preview. We are OBSESSED with the preview and cannot wait to see the full album. They helped us set up the timeline and did an amazing job of quickly getting every single shot we wanted. We stayed on schedule the entire day and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. They were flexible and helped us come up with a rain plan the week of our wedding, completely calming any nerves I had about the possibility of thunder storms on our wedding day. We are absolutely thrilled that Betty and Maggie were our photographers and we could not recommend them more!

captures both life and a memory all at the same time. We had a one hour initial consultation with them, where we immediately discovered that the life and love they bring to their photos is mirrored perfectly by who they are as people, and how they live their lives. Maggie and Betty are full of energy, extraordinarily professional, more talented than almost anyone you will meet at their craft, and infinitely creative. Most good photographers have a creative eye, but the way Maggie and Betty work together to capture both the formal, posed photos… as well as the unstaged “life as it happens” photos is magical. During our engagement shoot, which they added as a complementary addition to our package, we saw their talents firsthand. Neither my husband nor I consider ourselves to be very photogenic people. We love to smile, but that doesn’t always translate well into photographs. Somehow, Maggie and Betty captured the absolute best of us, together and individually, and also made us feel extraordinarily special. We just received our wedding photo album in the last week, as well. And they did it again— except somehow a million times better. They captured every single facet of our big day. And then some. Despite the stress and chaos you feel on your wedding, they figured out a way to capture every moment of beauty. Of joy. They captured the laughter, the hugs, the crazy facial expressions, the antics of our family kiddos, the dancing, and mostly… the memories we will look back on for a lifetime. We cannot recommend Maggie and Betty more highly. If you are blessed enough to have them shoot your wedding, there is no world where you will find yourself unhappy with the results they create. Thank you, Maggie and Betty, for capturing the most important moments of our lives. We will certainly treasure them for the rest of ours. Lots of love!

That is how confident I am in their abilities. Betty and Maggie are so easy to work with and make taking photos feel natural to someone who has never taken professional photos. They planned out the entire wedding shot list and made everything go so smoothly. The photos they took are absolutely breathtaking. You won't find a better photography team!

roviding shot list recommendations. Worried you might feel shy/uncomfortable in front of the camera? Maggie provides all the right cues and guidance to get flattering shots and make the whole experience effortless and fun! We are so glad we went with Birds of a Feather for our wedding!

nized, kept us incredibly on schedule, and a general joy to work with. Not to mention, they made us and our wedding party/family feel comfortable in photos which made them turn out amazing!! Added bonus: Betty is master sewer in case your dress malfunctions like mine did :)

together. They make sure to take photos of everything, not just the people, which I really appreciate. I worked hard on my decorations! My wedding reception was delayed due to covid, so we asked if they were willing to take pictures of our mini ceremony instead of engagement photos (which we didn't need anyway). Not only did they agree, they were there for up to 2 hours taking photos for us. It really made our ceremony special, despite it being much smaller than we originally envisioned. Also, the pictures were stunning! Last weekend we worked together again (nearly a year after the mini ceremony) for our big reception. I'm so thankful I was able to work with them again. They were so sweet, professional, and just an absolute joy to work with. I haven't received these pictures yet (it's only been a couple days, the delay is normal), but I can't wait to see them!! One important benefit of hiring birds of a feather is they let you have all digital rights. This means I have digital copies of ALL pictures, and I can do whatever I want with them! I sent some to be printed at CVS to frame after the wedding. I also added them to our wedding website. If I want to, I could even make my own printed photo book! The possibilities are endless, but it's so nice to have this freedom. Thank you so much Betty and Maggie for making both weddings so wonderful! Hiring you was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding!

make sure we were able to get through all of our photos - we even ran ahead of schedule most of the day! My husband really appreciated how Betty 'distracted' him before the first look to keep him calm. Several members of our wedding party commented on how efficient Maggie and Betty were with the group photos and how they made them feel like rockstars :) Their positive energy is contagious! We were also incredibly impressed with how quickly we got our wedding photos back and, of course, how beautiful they were! Thank you Maggie and Betty for doing such a fantastic job capturing our wedding day!

ing day, we counted on them to provide us guidance. The photos turned out fantastic!

y and Maggie for our engagement shoot in 2019 and were blown away by the quality of their photographs and how effortless the whole shoot felt. We planned to get married in Hawaii in 2020, but COVID-19 had other plans. Instead, we ended up planning a June 2021 wedding in DC in a total venue switch. Once the venue had changed, the first thing we did was call Betty and Maggie to see if they'd be available for our wedding. They were (thankfully). My oh my, best decision we made! Betty and Maggie are so incredible. They made our big day SO special and effortless. As the daughter of a single mother, their mother-daughter dynamic is one that puts me instantly at ease. Their organizational skills made our wedding day feel so calm and collected. They planned exactly when, where, and how they would do each of their shots...taking the guessing game away! Their attitude put us at ease and made us feel comfortable. In the case of inclement weather, Maggie already had a plan B, C, and D...ensuring our day would be amazing regardless of mother nature. Their dynamic ensures that 1 photographer captures the traditional shot, while the other captures the 'candid' shot. The result = pure magic. We are so pleased to have over 600+ AMAZING photos of our wedding day that truly capture us as a couple. Thank you so much, Maggie and Betty. We love you both!

and it shows in their beautiful photos. We were speechless when we saw a preview of our wedding pictures - they captured every emotion of our day perfectly. Betty and Maggie made all our camera-shy guests and family feel at ease during portraits and for that we are so thankful. You cannot make a better choice for your big day than to book Birds of a Feather.

ind-- all qualities that make amazing wedding photographers. My husband and I get super nervous in front of cameras and they made us feel both confident and comfortable! Wedding planning during a pandemic is stressful, to say the least, but M&B were flexible, understanding, and patient throughout the whole process. From "check-in" emails, helping us create a timeline, rescheduling our wedding with us *three* times, thoughtful/personalized gifts, and everything else in between...Maggie and Betty go above and beyond. We are so happy we had Maggie & Betty there with us to capture our wedding day.

ly thoughtful gifts and most importantly made the wedding day less stressful. They were more than just photographers! They were life savers the day of, provided amazing forever memories and will forever be our friends :)

They calmed our nervous, and all of our photos turned out beautiful. For the wedding day, even though our wedding got rescheduled THREE times, Maggie and Betty were there supporting us every step of the way and happy to help in anyway. Due to the pandemic we had to make changes to many vendors but not our amazing photographers. They were able to work with us and meet our constant changing covid wedding needs. I was thrilled when I saw our wedding photos and so were our friends and families. I could not recommend Birds of a Feather more!

w much JOY they added to my wedding day because of their professionalism, thoroughness and thoughtfulness. Highly recommend!

during a very hot 95+ degree day in DC for our engagement shoot and the pictures were incredible. They made us feel comfortable in front of the cameras, offered tips to create better pictures, and kept the whole experience lighthearted and fun. For our wedding, they showed up hours early to look around for areas that would be good for first look and pre-wedding pictures and helped the entire team of other vendors stay organized because they knew exactly what they were doing and when they were doing. We were so happy with how everything turned out and the beautiful heirloom album they created after was also pretty incredible! We highly recommend them and know you will not be disappointed.

nd had the best feeling about them.. We set up a more formal meeting to go over everything and immediately we felt welcome and felt excited at the opportunity to have them. As soon as we booked they sent us the most gorgeous welcome package which was just above and beyond! Shortly after, we had our engagement photos which were just simply Amazing. We were quite nervous about taking portraits and both Betty and Maggie made us felt SO COMFORTABLE and we had an absolute blast taking photos with them! The photos came out better than I could have imagined. I was completely blown away by how quickly we received them and how stellar they looked! Before our wedding we received another beautiful package from Betty and Maggie to help us get excited for the big day-- Does it get any better?! Wedding day was absolutely perfect and a lot of that had to do with these amazing photographers. They were constantly making me feel calm on the timeline, comfortable with the photos and laughing with all of us having the best time. Betty and Maggie compliment each other so well and you can just tell they are rock stars in their craft. I didn't think for one minute that we missed an opportunity for a great picture they were always there capturing the best moments. We just received our gallery this week and the photos are BEYOND. From the beginning we were always wanting the most perfect portraits.. and WOW I think they may be better than perfect. We can't thank these two amazing people enough. You should not hesitate booking these amazing photographers. You will not be disappointed. They are INCREDIBLE! Thank you so so much for the most amazing memories captured!

ur wedding in August 2019 that we will cherish for a lifetime. We cannot thank Betty & Maggie enough for capturing our special day!

ttle over a year before our wedding. I wanted the best and I quickly realized that I had not only found that, but also kindred spirits. They explained to me every step of the process, from capturing the pictures all the way through editing. Barry and I feel so blessed to have found them! We had never been photographed before and they made us so comfortable. From the engagement shoot all the way until the wedding day, I felt like we found such good friends! On the day of our wedding I was so excited to see them. They talked me through different poses and took charge to make sure we got all the shots we wanted and then some. They came up with creative ideas too! I never would have thought about a red bicycle in a wedding photo but Maggie did and the pictures are TO DIE FOR!!! Barry and I felt like the most important and beautiful people on our wedding day thanks to Betty and Maggie. We can’t thank them enough for the amazing work they did. Trust me, you will not find better photographers! Birds of a Feather are artists, book them before they're all booked up for the next 5 years!!

ong time. They were so easy to work with. They were able to accommodate our crazy schedules for our engagement photo session. They were very meticulous with their photography timeline. They had everything thought out in regards photos needed to be taken that I never had to worry that they would forget a shot that I really wanted. They got every single photo I had ever wanted for my wedding day and more. There are so many beautiful photos from my wedding day that I am having a hard time choosing which photos I want to use for my photo album! Betty and Maggie did a fabulous job as they were efficient, professional, caring on our wedding day.

. They arrived early the day of the wedding to scout out the venue, which led to great photos and also peace of mind for us. They are also very on top of logistics and helped corral guests for the family photos. On top of all that, they sent us a number of care packages along the way. You'll not be disappointed. Thanks, Birds of a Feather!

ortable and at ease throughout the entire process. They were responsive to any questions we had, organized, and even arrived early on the wedding day to scope out shooting locations and get started taking detail photos. This mother-daughter duo works seamlessly together to make sure every moment is beautifully captured. We had our entire wedding gallery within 10 days of our wedding, and even got a sneak peak gallery the morning after our wedding. Having them as our photographers was honestly one of the best decisions we made, and we can't thank Maggie and Betty enough for capturing our day so perfectly!

What was supposed to be a 30 minute or so meet and greet ended up being an hour plus of us chatting as though we’d known each other for years! We knew right then and there that they were “our people”. We stopped halfway down the stairs from their office, walked back in, and signed the contract that day. We live in NJ, but got married in DC and they were beyond flexible with scheduling our engagement shoot in DC. On our wedding day, we literally could not have had a better experience with them. We gave them our schedule and they did the rest. We felt zero pressure to get pictures done, yet got every single shot we wanted. The other thing that we LOVED was that during the course of our day, hundreds of photos taken, we never once felt like we were having our picture taken. They blended into the background and our day felt like it was just us. And the final product? AMAZING!! I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Betty and Maggie. They truly are the most genuine, kind, and talented individuals. Oh! Did I mention that this mother/daughter duo support charities and stand against social injustices?? Well they do! These two are truly awesome and we cannot wait to continue our relationship with them for years to come!

anning a small, intimate wedding within 6 months was a bit of a stress... but what we did not have to worry about was our photos. From the moment they arrived at the hotel to take our behind the scenes picture, Betty and Maggie were like ninjas! They had it all planned. They captured every detail and really worked around our space. They also reminded me that this was a day about us and to take it all in and just enjoy the moment. Some things didn't go as planned, but we look back at it now and all we have are joyful memories filled with laughter. It was a very COLD ceremony with wind gusts so strong my veil almost fell off. However, Betty and Maggie did not let that get in the way and were on board with our requests... until my husband and I decided it was way too cold to continue being outside and just wanted to rush to the restaurant to enjoy the rest of the evening. All in all, we are beyond grateful and fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Maggie and Betty. Also, the turnaround time for the photos was spectacular! Nothing compared to what we hear about other companies that take months to deliver. The service these two deliver are second to none!!

ain. Betty and Maggie were amazing and captured our day so perfectly. Similar to the bride below, Birds of a Feather was the only photographer we met with and we booked them immediately. I really wanted a more photojournalism style, with minimal posed photos, and really didn't like the overly blown out wedding photos I saw on a lot of sites. I felt like Maggie really got what we were looking for immediately in our first phone call. Their photos of our wedding are authentic and intimate and fun. From setting our entire day-of timeline before the wedding (a HUGE burden off my shoulders since we didn't have a planner) to being so calming when wedding day jitters inevitably set in, my husband and I couldn't have been happier. We also got comments from guests about how wonderful they were (seriously, have you ever been a guest at a wedding where you've even noticed the photographers? They are that good.) On the day of the wedding, my make up artist was running very behind schedule due to traffic. Before I even knew what was happening, Betty and Maggie had already talked to her and adjusted to make sure the whole day ran smoothly. On your wedding day, you do not want to be stressed about anything and must hire vendors you completely trust. Birds of a Feather was exactly that.

d so fun!

we found Betty and Maggie through a wonderful friend and loved their work and we knew Birds of a Feather were the best in the field. It was obvious from our first meeting that they knew exactly the type of photos we wanted. We completely trusted them with this important day and we were not disappointed. Most importantly we trusted them so much that we booked them before we even had our wedding date or venue picked out! The photos are spectacular. I am thrilled to have these beautiful photos and I cannot recommend Birds of a Feather enough. This duos patience and understanding made our day less stressful and I could sit back and relax knowing that they were capturing all of the special moments. Thank you so much again, you guys are rockstars! The Trossbach’s

reated us like family. They think of every single detail and shot to take. They even go the extra mile by sending you a welcome gift when you sign with them and near the wedding they sent us a movie date night box to help us destress. Besides the fact that they are sweethearts their photography is exceptional, you can't beat it! You won't regret picking them to capture your love on your wedding day. Because of these ladies we have gorgous photos to remember our special day for the rest of our lives!

d beyond. They weren't just my photographers. They kept me calm and collected and kept me on schedule. I can't thank them enough for all that they did on my wedding day. (All of that greatness and I haven't even talk about my photos yet). I got my pictures back and could not believe my eyes. I had every shot imaginable. I had the perfect balance of candid and staged photos. I even got a good enough of artsy pictures to commemorate the day. These wonderful ladies are the perfect package. I have never had another photographer "get me" before. These pictures will be treasured FOREVER. I've looked through them countless times and never once thought, "Oh, I wish I had more of..." They got everything - every little detail... every guest... every tear.... After all was said and done... all I can look back and think about was how they made me FEEL. I never felt rushed (although they were super aware of my timeline on my day). More importantly, I ALWAYS felt beautiful. These ladies are super down to earth too, so I never felt embarrassed throughout my quirky times. Additional thoughts from my (now) husband - So happy to have a chill person to get our wedding done and done right. It's cool to have someone ready to photograph you and your groomsmen shotgun a beer. I'm confident this was the best decision we made for the entire wedding. Worth every penny.

the love and happiness we felt perfectly. We had a gloomy, cold and rainy wedding day, but our pictures make it look like the most picturesque fairy tale. These photographers are quick and know exactly what locations as well as poses, to make you look your best, to help you get amazing pictures and not miss any time of your big day! Maggie does an excellent job of making you feel comfortable and coaching you through slight adjustments to capture the most beautiful photos of your special moments. This team is always present, but never in the way of your reception. They will capture the best candid photos of you and your guests! In addition to the amazing photographs, Maggie and Betty also go above and beyond before the big day. They sit down with you an an initial meeting, are always available to talk through scheduling and even help remind you to focus on each other and enjoy the moments of your wedding day. They are extremely organized and make sure to capture every moment that you highlight as important to you. I would HIGHLY recommend Birds of a Feather to any couple, they are worth EVERY PENNY!!!!

hedules and were extremely flexible. I wish there were words to describe how kind and professional they are. They work with you and their photos are amazing. Best decision I made besides marrying my husband, highly recommend. We love them!

tures in our inbox about 2 weeks after the wedding. We love that our link was available for all of our family and friends to save their favorite photos from the wedding.

They were flexible, accommodating, organized, and most of all professional. They laughed and cried right along with us; they were one of the family that day. I can not speak highly enough of this mother-daughter duo; their bond is evident in their work. Their lovely personalities are infectious — hands down the best vendor to work with during this whole process. They have my full recommendation. ~ Mother of the Bride

initial meeting they felt like family! They were so helpful day of in calming us down when things got stressful and making sure the day ran smoothly. We could not be more thrilled with the photos we received and the most gorgeous wedding album!

examples of their recent work and--most importantly--made us feel completely at home. They even recommended additional photographers for us to look into, but there was no need for that. My wife and I knew right away that we had found who we wanted to be there for our special day. Weddings are emotion-filled occasions, and there are lots of tiny moments where you and your soon-to-be (or just-become) spouse share a special moment together. Betty and Maggie are not only the perfect team because they so unobtrusively capture those moments on camera, but because they feel like family and help create those moments for you. We can't say enough how thankful we are for their help. Birds of a Feather helped us with engagement photos and two wedding ceremonies. We loved working with them so much that we are now looking for excuses to engage their services again. Can we have them photograph a regular Sunday afternoon for us? A weekday evening after work? It would be worth it. The pictures would be incredible and the experience a pleasure. Thank you, Betty and Maggie! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

m to photograph our wedding when the time came. My husband was less than thrilled about wedding planning, but walking out of our first sit down with them over donut holes and albums, we both wholeheartedly agreed that they were our "people." Photography was one of our priorities and let me tell you, we did not go wrong. Their skill level and personalities are equally incredible. They managed to get perfect pictures of our insane dog actually looking at the camera, dealt with nutty family & friends at the wedding, and made us look more photogenic than we ever have in our lives. The best part, they make EVERYONE feel at ease and like part of one big family. We do not have enough good things to say about them, so I will stop there. Betty & Maggie, thank you both for capturing our day in a way that was better than we had even hoped. These pictures will grace the walls of our home for generations to see and we are SO grateful that we found you!
