Bittersweet Cakes & Catering

Laura from Bittersweet Cakes & Catering did a great job for our wedding! And not just the wedding, Bittersweet Catering was great from the tasting ‘til after the reception. Two things that came across working with Laura is that she can cook, and she knows the catering business, especially for weddings! Between these two things we got amazing meal and cake that all the guests (and us) loved along with service that helped the reception go smoothly. Throughout the process, Laura was eager to help with good suggestions so that we could focus on our big day. From a friend’s wedding, anniversary celebration, or any other big party, I’d gladly have Bittersweet Cakes and Catering cater again!

The catering was PHENOMENAL!!! From the start, Laura impressed us. We weren't from the area so it was important the caterer be available via email and she was super professional. Above and beyond that - of course - was the importance of the food quality/taste. When we did the tasting, she said she could make anything we wanted, but we were sold immediately on her breaded chicken breasts with pesto. It was a super creative way to do chicken that went far, far past standard catering fare. It was amazing. I wish I could order it at a restaurant on a regular basis. Maybe I'll ask for the recipe. Anyway, we also had BBQ pulled pork which was so delicious - everybody wanted to try both! We also got to do the trendy "XYZ bar" setup with mashed potatoes with all the "fixings," with the fixings included more gourmet things like sauteed mushrooms. Even the salad exceeded expectations. I can't say enough good things about the food!!!!!!! We even had guests call our parents later in the week to say that the wedding food was better than one of the semi-famous restaurants in the area. It was so good - super grateful my parents ordered enough for us to have leftovers :) After the fact, I have no idea how we got that great of food for the value. It was just too good. Oh! And she made sure my now-husband and I got to eat, and to try everything, so we did not have the stereotypical "you don't get to eat at your own wedding" story. They also did the cake cutting which went great and was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend working with Laura for your wedding catering!!!!

This vendor was great for us because she was on top of everything and did an all-inclusive deal (very easy and efficient for those that are looking for something easy). She did our food as well as our cake. The food was fantastic and fed everyone completely. The cake was also amazing-exactly what I had in mind. The only grievance I had with this vendor was that she changed who was catering our wedding at the last minute to her daughter and did not let us know until late in the planning. Not a big deal, but something to make note of. Overall, we had a great experience!

That's what I kept hearing all night at the wedding - and what I continue to hear from my guests! Laura is outstanding at helping you to put together just the right menu - and her offerings are ALL delicious, so you can't go wrong. She is also incredibly accommodating, and met with us for a second tasting when I decided to add more items to our tapas style dinner. She is truly a joy to work with, and the food is delicious!

The food was the best. All the guests couldn't say enough about it.

Laura was wonderful to work with. We met her half way for a tasting. We e-mailed her our budget per plate and what types of dishes we were interested in and she came back with a menu full of variety. Our guests enjoyed it. She catered by friends wedding and also did an excellent job. She also did our cakes. She crafted a beautiful sophisticated brides cake. The groom's cake was an awesome roadkill armadillo. Both looked exactly like the pictures I e-mailed her.

Laura and her staff were very easy to work with and provided excellent service. The meal was delicious and both the bride and groooms cakes were even better! I would highly recommend them!

Our daughter's wedding reception was catered by Bittersweet Cakes & Catering on August 3, 2013. Laura was just wonderful to work with, and Bittersweet did an outstanding job providing a great meal for than 400 guests, Laura was flexible, agreeable, professional, understanding, and extremely honest. The food was absolutely delicious and Bittersweet was the most reasonably priced caterer we considered. We had to make several changes and Laura was always gracious and kind to us. She truly cared about our satisfaction and our desires. We highly recommend Laura & Bittersweet Catering. We could not be more pleased--or more grateful--for the fantastic job they did for our daughter's reception! Definitely "tried + true" and definitely 5 stars!

I used Bittersweet Cakes and Catering for a Tea and Brunch. Laura was so easy to work with from the get-go! I found her through a friend and she was just as amazing as my friend said she was! She showed up and hour and a half early and everything was just perfect! The food was beautiful, as it was delicious! Everyone raved! She will now be my go-to girl for all my catering needs! P.S. This was not a wedding event, but a very elegant Tea and Brunch for our beloved teachers, but the food was nicer than most wedding showers. : ) I checked Parent of the Bride/Groom because I it was my idea to throw the tea and I was in charge of getting the caterer. : ) I wasn't able to leave this review otherwise if I didn't check my role in the wedding...

Everyone is talking about how great the food was 3 weeks later. It was perfect and the cakes were to die for. I would 100% recommend letting Laura do your wedding, her presentation of the food was creative and amazing.
