Musicians of the Black & White String Quartet are classically trained with experience performing together for over a decade. They understand the professionalism required for an expert performance and bring a high level of refinement, style, and class. Whether performing for a discerning audience or rocking out with a band, they bring a unique penchant to their music. The Black & White String Quartet offers not only string quartet, but also solo musicians and other ensembles, within the quartet, based on your needs. They will work closely with you to create the perfect atmosphere for your event. If the song you want to hear as you walk down the aisle or share your first dance is not already in their extensive collection, they are happy to offer custom arrangements upon request. The Black & White String Quartet, based in Park City, UT, covers many areas of Utah from Logan to St. George. A travel fee may be required depending on your location.

Working with Tamra at BWSQ was great. She was prompt with communication and everything was very clear from a logistics standpoint. Their music made my intimate wedding ceremony feel alive and like a much bigger party than it really was. I used the Cello Duet since we had such a small wedding of immediate family. They were great! I would hire again and recommend to anyone getting married in the SLC area.

We had the MOST amazing experience having the Black and White String Quartet at our wedding in Moab! They were extremely kind, talented, and really worked with me on choosing the right music. It created the perfect environment and energy. Our guests were talking about them for days. I didn't notice a lot of details on my wedding day but the music was impossible not to notice. It completely changed the game for us! I recommend them to everyone and cannot say enough about them!

We were lucky enough to book with BWSQ for our wedding, and could not have been more pleased. Due to our wedding being destination in nature, we were only able to communicate via email until the very moment I walked down the aisle. Despite this, they perfectly executed the timing of our processional songs. With such a large repertoire, we had more than enough selections to choose from for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They truly set the perfect tone for our wedding and we could not be happier.

I'm so glad that we hired the Black & White String Quartet for our wedding! They brought such a beautiful and elegant quality to our wedding that music from a simple speaker couldn't have achieved. The entire planning process was so easy, and they did such an incredible job! If I were planning my wedding again, I'd hire them in a heartbeat!

I met Black and White SQ at a bridal show and I kept it at the back of my mind that this is a great option especially for a garden wedding. Booking process was smooth; Tamra was very responsive and she gave me an extensive list of song options. I booked the band for 1 hour during ceremony and I wanted prelude to be classical songs and postlude to be contemporary ones. I then gave her 1 song choice that I specifically want it to be played. Everything went smoothly on the day of, and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend booking with B&W if you want the ceremony to be elevated.

I hired BWSQ's cello duet ('CHelō) for my wedding ceremony and everyone I talked to loved it! Unfortunately, because I was the bride I didn't get to hear much as I walked from a distance. Everything sounded beautiful though. Tamra was very helpful in ensuring that what they were playing was what I would want. Our ceremony was a little out of the norm so I think some cues were missed (not sure if they weren't given or what happened), but that was the only thing that didn't go quite right. Booking was easy and communication was quick. I highly recommend hiring!

She delivers professional communication throughout the planning and always shows up on time on wedding day. Guests always compliment her incredible talent of playing the cello!

Due to the business at hand, I couldn't be terribly firm with scheduling until the day before, and Tamra worked with me in a way that only true professionals are able to manage. She plays wonderfully and adds the touch of charm and elegance that will make any event pop and sparkle. In addition to being a great artist, and professional, she is also a warm and conversational as a person. Tamra deserves every recommendation she gets!

Tamra played cello for my wedding ceremony and it was an absolute highlight of the whole event, her talent is amazing. We recorded all of our wedding ceremony on an old laptop (not great) but you can hear the beautiful cello music of some of our favorite songs throughout the whole thing. Highly recommend her for your processional and recessional at the very least; it will add that extra something special to your most memorable moment.

Tamra Baca

Coordinator

Tamra is only a quarter of what makes the Black & White String Quartet what it is. She happens to be the primary coordinator but our other members Staci, Nicole, and Rebekah are vital members who provide our web and graphic design, sound production, and marketing expertise. We are passionate about performing. We all went to college to do just that and love knowing that our music helps put the finishing touches on something that couples have put so much love and energy into already.
