I was a little disappointed in our cake. We picked a very simple cake that was supposed to be a light pink to ivory ombré cake that had rosettes on top and ruffles on the bottom. When I walked into the ballroom I noticed that the cake had started to melt and that instead of being ombré, it was all pink and the cake was backwards. Ruffles on top and rosettes on bottom. The cake was expensive. So the fact that it was not exactly what we had paid for was disappointing. Overall, even know the cake didn't turn out exactly right, it tasted amazing! We had red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Our guests had a different cake. Chardonnay cake with butter cream frosting, lemon curd filling, and huckleberries. Everyone raved about how amazing it tasted.

Megan is the fiancé of one of my co-workers and she gave me a great deal on a small wedding cake as I wanted pies for everyone else. It was so cute, well thought out, and simply elegant. She is extremely easy to work with and is so creative, that I let her decide on designs, etc. once we had met and she knew our theme/colors. She pinpointed exactly what I wanted in my subconscious and I didn't even have to describe it. Megan works at Black Cat and I've heard great reviews about their larger cakes as well. They aren't as well known as Bernice's Bakery, but they do just as good a job for a fraction of the cost (you're not paying for the name)!

My wedding photographer actually said "this is the best wedding cake Ive ever had..." - that's saying a lot. SUCH good quality, delicious cake, at a competitive price.

Black Cat did a couple of cakes for our wedding. The main cake is was the 3 round tier Lemon Huckleberry Chardonnay. This cake is absolutely amazing. We then had sheet cakes of Belgian Chocolate- also so delicious. I had a Groom's cake made to surprise my groom and the decor on it turned out just perfect. The service was wonderful- Christie always communicated very well with me regarding the cake. The only downfall was when we went to return a couple of items back to the bakery after the wedding, we didn't have a piece of decorative satin they lent us. We didn't mind paying for it, since we misplaced it, but the whole interaction was just very awkward. It was like they didn't know how to handle a lost item and acted very weird about it. Other than that- I would recommend Black Cat - the huckleberry cake is just amazing!

I had a late order of my wedding cake- only 2 1/2 weeks in advance (my other venue had to cancel on me!) but Black Cat took my order, which was very relieving. Unfortunately they forgot to make my cake! My in-laws went to pick it up on our designated date/time and they hadn't even opened their orders book. My cake decorator was only in town for a few hours, so this was a huge inconvenience, and quite stressful. However, they dropped everything they were doing to just work on the cake and we got a fresh one 6 hours later. It wasn't the most beautiful job, or complete, when they brought it to us, but it was workable, and they helped us fix it at our location.. The cake itself wasn't amazing, but pretty good. Overall, I do like this Bakery, but I would probably just stick to getting their already-made goods at the markets.

The wedding cake tasted excellent. However, they did not follow the simple design of the cake photograph that I gave them. I hand delivered a photo of a cake as well as e-mailed a copy to them. On my wedding day I was disappointed to see that the scroll work was nothing like the picture of the simple, elegant cake I had given them. If you book them, be explicit in what you want or you will end up disappointed like me.
