About this vendor

Black Pepper Photography is a Virginia-based wedding photography and video studio documenting weddings and engagements with intention, emotional awareness, and care. Founded in 2020 by photographer Chayil McGlotten, the brand is rooted in storytelling, inclusion, and creating images where people feel seen and at ease - not overly posed or performed. Our team’s approach blends technical expertise with a people-first mindset, focusing on natural movement, honest moments, and environments that allow couples to be present on their wedding day. Rather than directing every moment, we prioritize trust, pacing, and emotional safety, resulting in imagery and films that feel timeless, grounded, and true to how the day actually felt. Services Offered Black Pepper Photography provides wedding photography and video coverage with a highly attentive, client-centered experience. Coverage options include additional hours, second shooters, 35mm film photography as an add-on, and video coverage for couples who want their day documented in both still images and motion. Final photography and video deliverables are provided as high-resolution digital files through an online gallery. At Black Pepper Photography, we work as a cohesive team to document weddings with intention, respect, and emotional depth - preserving not just the moments you remember, but the ones you felt.

Chayil at BPP did an AMAZING job with our photos. So far we've gotten our sneak peek pictures (this review is a bit early!) and me and my husband look so good in all of them!! We w...

anted Chayil to be our wedding photographer because her photos seemed to capture the genuine joy and love of people. Now, on the other side of our wedding day, we can say that she really does bring out the best of the folks she photographs. Chayil is also just such a joy and makes the photos feel natural and fun (and we are a pretty introverted couple)! She came in with a structure and a plan but gave us lots of room to explore our own vision. It could not have been easier! Truly went above and beyond our expectations, we are so excited to see the rest of the gallery. I don't think we could have hired a better photographer for our big day :)

Chayil is the best! She is incredibly creative, fun, and very talented. My husband and I do not usually like photoshoots and feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Chayil's...

energy made it feel natural and the pictures turned out beautiful. She fits right in to any wedding and brings a creative vision so you don't have to. We highly recommend Chayil!

I cannot even begin to write a review that expresses how obsessed I am with the photos and service we received from Chayil McGlotten, she truly knocked it out of the park. Chayil’s...

positive energy and friendly personality brings exactly the tone you need for your day. You could not find a better photographer if you’re looking for true to color, gorgeous photos, showcasing the love and story of the day, all while she also acts as the best hype woman you could ask for. I cannot recommend her and her team at Black Pepper Photography enough. We did our engagement photos at our venue, which ended up being on a fairly dreary day, but Chayil’s amazing skills still managed to highlight the beauty of the location and our excitement. She is incredibly easy to work with, quickly making us comfortable (especially my husband who is not a huge fan of taking pictures) by alternating smoothly between suggesting poses and taking candid photos if we were naturally in a good position. It was so hard to pick just a few photos for our Save the Dates when we received so many, despite having booked just a 30 minute session. On the wedding day, Chayil arrived with amazing energy, helping ease my nerves about the timeline and making sure I got every photo I wanted and then some! She also brought the videographer, who made the most stunning wedding video highlighting our special day. We have received our sneak peaks, and every photo is better than the last, they are all so flattering and gorgeous. Black Pepper Photography documented our day better than I could have ever dared to dream - thank you!!!

hed. She did an outstanding job for my son and daughter-in-law this past weekend 11/01/25. She captured moments in the bridal suite and also with my son before the ceremony. And she gave one or two sneak peeks as she snapped and curated the photographs. She was professional and very easy to work with, with a fun personality. It felt like she was part of our family, everyone loved her, and so did I. Thank you Chayil for creating memories for Reggie and Jess and our family! Sincerely, Tara “Proud Momma” … Side note: We plan on contacting her very soon to secure her services again, this time for my upcoming elopement.

interaction, she thinks of EVERYTHING so you don’t have to, and she really curates the best vibe to produce the most amazing pictures.
