Black Radish was truly amazing and one of the major highlights of our wedding!!! Larry and the whole team were very kind, patient, responsive, and easy to work with. The food was i...
ncredible, and our guests were raving about it days later! Black radish accommodated all of our requests, like ensuring there were delicious vegan protein options when we wanted to swap a chicken dish out. The servers were very attentive and helpful to the guests.
Here are some of the things we ordered that everyone loved:
Focaccia (rosemary, great crispy crust while being soft inside), ravioli (creamy sauce without being overwhelming or heavy; paired so well with everything), olive oil poached salmon with capers (melted in our mouths! perfectly cooked, flakey, and flavorful), tofu (tomato sauce, olives and capers in the sauce). We really enjoyed every single dish and so did our guests!
Black Radish Kitchen came highly recommended to us from folks all over Pittsburgh and they were amazing to work with and even helped us narrow down where we would host our receptio...
n. Larry was able to walk us through every step up, accommodate all of our requests, and we put together an amazing meal in just one month. The only small hiccup was that the bar sign didn’t include a few of the drink options we planned, so some guests didn’t realize those were available to order. That said, all of our guests complimented our choice of food and drinks (notably the pierogies) for weeks after the wedding. We cannot recommend these folks enough, they made one of the most stressful parts the easiest.
Black Radish was spectacular. We sampled a few other vendors and started to think wedding food had to be mediocre — then Black Radish blew us away. I can't count how many guests to...
ld us they loved the food. It was delicious, served hot and right on time. Before the wedding, the team at the B-Rad helped us pick the menu and was flexible and communicative. They were attentive during the reception to make sure everything was well stocked. We will be hiring Black Radish for any future events — highly recommend!
Our guests loved the food and we did too! As a couple who loves our summer CSA, this meal felt representative and unique to us. They were great with dietary restrictions too. Thank...
you Sarah and team!
A note to couples: Have a plan to track your conversations and make updates over time. We hired Black Radish a year in advance for our outdoor wedding, so we exchanged a ton of emails and calls. I felt overwhelmed by all the logistical questions that came up regarding serving, set-up, and kitchen rentals and how menu would impact that. It all worked out great, but it was a lot of admin to get there.
Black Radish was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding. At the end of the day the most talked about thing at the wedding was the food. I'll try not to take that too personal...
ly from my friends and family. But honestly, I get it. Every bite, from the appetizers to the main courses were absolutely fantastic. The staff themselves couldn't have been nicer and were great to work with. Hell, I absolutely intend to attend a few of their dinner events in the future so I can continue to experience their amazing cooking and generally great atmosphere.
Their menu has a myriad of great options seasonally and they were very open to requests and suggestions for what we wanted for the wedding. In fact since the planning took us between seasons we even had a the option of switching up the menu mid season for anything that came on for winter from autumn.
A big thing for us was making sure the menu had some solid vegan and vegetarian options, as more than a few people in the wedding as well as wedding party are and we wanted them to be able to enjoy something more than some god awful side salad and in this category I don't think anyone was disappointed. In the end I think the chick pea salad may have stuck with me more than than the short ribs did to my bones it was so good, even after eating it for the next 5 days of leftovers.
I will say they do tend to be a bit on the pricier side than other vendors we looked at, but I think if food is something that's important to you and ensuring your guests love it, I would say it was worth every penny and my (now) wife and I couldn't have been happier!
Black Radish Kitchen provided catering for our May 2024 reception and we couldn't have imagined selecting any other vendor. The menu was entirely vegetarian. Even our very carnivor...
ous family members were impressed by the vegan meatballs!
Sarah was an absolute delight to work with. She was patient, kind, and thought of details I would have never known to ask about. The staff at the wedding were incredible. They were super attentive and fun and made sure the bride ate.
The best review I can say is that our guests are STILL talking about the food.
This was our top caterer when planning our wedding and I'm so glad they were available because their food was AMAZING! The staff was excellent to work with both leading up to event...
and during the wedding. They were very accommodating for different dietary restrictions and had plenty of options for all sorts of eaters. I cannot recommend them enough!!!
My husband and I's top priority for our reception was to feed our guests well, and Black Radish could not have done a better job. The quality of the food was exceptional, and there...
was lots of it. Wedding food tends to get a bad rap, but we would be happy to eat a Black Radish meal anytime, anywhere. Sarah was very helpful helping us plan a menu that was laidback and crowd friendly, but still elevated. We received a ton of positive comments from our guests about how good everything was. We really appreciate the work the Black Radish crew put in to ensure that us and our guests had a great experience!
They did a great job with our catering for our July wedding. Very easy to work with and professional. I thought the food was exceptional.

ghest quality food and caterers that could meet those needs. The food was absolutely to die for and the staff was so professional and amazing to work with. There was constant communication and the dinner and cleanup went so smoothly the day of. I cannot rave enough about how great the food was, and everyone agreed! Get compliments for the rest of your life by hiring this team!
After a caterer debacle forced me to cancel my caterer only a few weeks before my wedding, Black Radish jumped in and was absolutely fantastic. Given they only had a few weeks to ...
prepare and we were changing details up to the day before the wedding, I expected a few mishaps with the catering the day of. There were none. The food was excellent and everyone was raving about the food even after the wedding. I also cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were friendly, professional, and far exceeded my expectations. Everything went seamlessly and I cannot recommend them enough.
My wife and I are both vegan and big foodies, so we made the food served at our wedding a priority, with only the finest plant-based meals. Black Radish fully delivered, creating a...
delicious menu that more than pleased us, as well as our omnivorous guests! The team both at the kitchen and at the wedding day-of were incredibly helpful, super sweet, and kind beyond reason to every single guest and staff member. The chef and service leads (Emily and Caitlin, respectively) were helpful at each step and watched over all that unfolded at the event, making everyone feel special that day. Shoutout to Sarah for her assistance along the way! She was fantastic with responding to emails, as well as communicating between us and the company we got all of our dinnerwares from to ensure everyone had all that they needed.
Blown away by the amazing staff, service, and food! We used Black Radish for our wedding at the American Serbian Club in the Southside. We worked with Sarah & Kate as they made all...
our wedding dreams come true. They coordinated all our vendor needs effortlessly. It was so wonderful to be able to create a menu that represented food we loved + kept within our budget. They were so communicative and friendly. The staff was fantastic and attentive all night long. The food was OUTSTANDING and beautifully displayed. Never have I been to a wedding with better food. Every guest complimented the food and we still get asked to this day about our caterers and if we can recreate that meal again. I look forward to dining with them all again and hiring them for any catering needs in the future.
Amazing food and great staff. We used Black Radish to cater our 2021 wedding. We worked with Sarah who coordinated with the venue as well as with the rental company. She was so hel...
pful, organized, and always professional. She helped us through rescheduling our wedding due to the pandemic and we’re so happy they were able to be flexible.
The food for our wedding was the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding! A lot of our guests said the same. Our venue did not have a kitchen and I know that that was an obstacle for the Black Radish team but they made it work. All of the food was fresh and delicious and exactly what we hoped for when planning the menu.
Black Radish Kitchen made our wedding so special. We've gotten so many compliments about both the food and the service. We went with a plated dinner and family-style sides, and peo...
ple loved it! Everything was beautiful, and the ingredients were so fresh. I can't imagine anything better!
If you want to hear your guests RAVE about your wedding food, this is THE place to use. We had a small COVID wedding in 2020, and they catered for 35 people. This year, we had a fu...
ll wedding of 110 people, and the food and service was just as incredible. Versatile, vegetarian / vegan friendly, queer friendly, and just friendly-friendly, we cannot recommend this crew enough.
We wanted a small, affordable wedding with our closest friends and family and decided to do a dinner party -- we ended up with 30 total including us but I think the space could fit...
a few more. We had two requirements: cool space in the city + the best possible food we could find. Black Radish Kitchen fit the bill (they didn't just cater for us - we had our event at the space). Sarah was our contact and was so responsive, accommodating and just all around great to work with for a slightly-stressed bride. The space is SO COOL. Warehouse-y, lots of graffiti and just the perfect vibe for what we were going for. There's a service elevator for elderly guests if needed. No words to describe the food -- our wedding was almost 6 months ago and we all still talk about it. The price was more than fair... way less than we would have paid anywhere else and they were able to be super flexible with us on start times, etc. We did a quick standing-only ceremony in Westinghouse Park next door then we all walked over to Black Radish. I wouldn't change a thing, it was perfect!
They are hands down the best catering in the region, probably the country. Our guests would not stop, and still haven't stopped talking about how amazing the food was. It's not wed...
ding faire, it's truly next level restaurant cuisine brought to scale. Sarah and Kate are also amazing and are super on top of every logistical question and potential problem. Truly the best the decision we made, besides getting married in the first place.
E2 is a small restaurant in Highland Park with simple yet lovely food offerings. Specializing in Mediterranean/Italian style food, they use local ingredients and have a menu that ...
changes seasonally. We loved working with Chef Kate and Manager Jason to create a family-style menu for our wedding. All of our guests LOVED the food, and the service was fabulous. We had a laid-back, outdoor wedding at my parent's house north of Pittsburgh, and E2 fit the bill perfectly from the fabulous waitstaff to the delicious, local (and beautiful!) food. We highly recommend them!
