We absolutely LOVED our stay at Black Sands Inn. We came for our first getaway after our wedding and it ended up being exactly what we needed. Shelter Cove is such a special little town, and the inn was the perfect home base for exploring.

spent our days checking out tide pools, spotting wildlife, trying local restaurants and breweries, and just slowing down for a few days. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and had incredible views morning and night. Everything felt thoughtful without being over the top.
If you're looking for a place to unplug, relax, and experience a part of Northern California that feels a little off the beaten path, I'd definitely recommend staying here. We're already talking about coming back.

en more of a view from the ocean and so we can hear the waves. We watched sunset from the communal chairs every night, they are very sturdy and comfortable! They also have a room with books and games you can borrow which is a great touch!

ned to the waves crash all night. You cannot get much closer to the beach than that. We stayed in room 1 and it had a full kitchen which was perfect for our family. It didn't have its own private patio or balcony but we didn't even mind. There is a short trail down the beach where we saw star fish, crabs, and lots of Harbor Seals. We look forward to staying here every year. It's such a special place!

tiful; it was great to be able to be walk along the beach right in front and have the coffee shop next door, as well as Gyppos ale house and many nice view points in walking distance. There is no reception staff on site, but it was easy to communicate over text and they were very responsive.
