e planning stages, up until the final dance at the reception. He was so friendly, professional and FUN! We told Alec we wanted an absolute party, and he showed up and killed it. Every one of our guests was on the dance floor and said it was the best wedding they've been to with the best music. Hire them!!! You won't regret it I promise you. As long as Alec is in the business, I will call them for any events I need a DJ for.

on he was extremely thorough, made sure to understand what we were looking for in a DJ and addreaaed any concerns or questions that came up. The day of our wedding Alec worked with the photographer and wedding coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly, that we were where we needed to be at certain times (cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss, dances etc). Once the party started the dance floor was NEVER empty. I have gotten so many compliments on our DJ and how fabulous he was! I highly recommend black tie entertainment to anyone who is looking for an exceptional DJ that will NOT disappoint and will make sure a good time is had by all!

With Black Tie, you do not just get a DJ, you get an MC & DJ for your day (you NEED an MC). We spoke to a few DJ’s and Rick was who we chose. Rick was absolutely amazing! We spoke to Rick multiple times leading up to the wedding so he could get to know us and plan out every detail. He helped make our wedding day run smoothly and provided true entertainment. He has a great personality and helped keep the energy up all night. You can choose how involved you want Rick to be. If you want him to interact with the crowd and get them energized, he will. If you want him to stay quiet behind the DJ booth and just play music, he will. It is great that you can choose, but we suggest allowing him to interact with everyone. When we spoke to Rick about the timeline and events to do, we had no idea what we were missing and how critical an MC is. He walked us through different events and games there are to see what we wanted to do. He had suggestions on a timeline to help make things flow smoothly. He worked alongside our planner to make sure we stayed on our timeline and ensured our wedding vision came to fruition. Again, you NEED an MC/DJ, not just a DJ. When it came to music, this was important since my husband and I are big music people. Rick was super flexible and understanding that we had a list of music that we wanted to be played. There is a portal where we set the songs for the first dance, mother/father/daughter/son dances, and all those types of things. We had playlists where we added specific songs/artists that we wanted played for each part (cocktail hours, dinner, dancing). We got to set a percentage of when we wanted only our music, his choice, or a little of both. We were happy with our choices and Rick was able to read the crowd and know what to play when we gave him the freedom to play his choices. The only thing I will suggest is if you want a particular song you choose toward end of night, just let him know so it is not played too early. Everything was so well organized and every little detail was planned out. The portal was also great for everything else like payment, contracts, timeline planning, wedding party names, etc. Truly was a great experience overall and would recommend Rick and Black Ties events for your day!

We worked with Matt for our wedding, and he made our night a huge success. He has incredible, never-ending energy as an MC and DJ and it is contagious. Our dance floor was packed the entire night (and we have photo evidence to prove it) and guests of all ages were on their feet and highly engaged. Guests have since commented about how much fun the music/night was. Our one complaint is that the night couldn't go on forever! 10/10 would recommend. Thank you to the whole Black Tie team!

Alec went above and beyond - communicating with wait staff to ensure dinner service was served on time and helped me with my dress ripping at end of the night! Thank you, Black Tie Entertainment!

is exactly what we wanted. He was also very organized as far as lining up the wedding party for introductions and keeping people on track for speeches. My only complaints are that I had given specific instructions for a certain song to be played toward the end of the evening when everyone was on the dance floor and he played it early while everyone was out taking pictures with the sunset. We did ask him to play it again at the correct time and he did. We also picked a very specific final song of the night and it was not played. I was pretty disappointed that the one he did play was not even I song I enjoy. So overall it was a good experience, just make sure the DJ really understands any specific directions/requests that you have.

He was incredibly conscientious about our list of Do Not Play's, and had a great ear for matching our preferred play list with his own choices to keep the party going. He was also great about spur of the moment requests and getting people on the dance floor. Overall, he was an important addition to our incredible wedding reception.

e as things on your wedding day can get crazy, he just adjusted the schedule as the night went along and did everything we asked. The process was also very easy, we booked through them and then used their website throughout the planning process and filled it in as we knew the details. I would recommend them to any couple looking for an awesome wedding DJ!

. He called and checked in on us throughout the year to see if we had any questions or needed help with any planning (we booked a year in advance and were from out of state). The music that was played was exactly what I had in mind, Before the reception had started he even made sure we had food and drinks. He coordinated with other vendors to make sure everything flowed together and ran seamlessly. I cannot thank him enough, highly recommend.

very easy going and knowledgeable. He did a great job. We had a dance mix that I had put together myself, and he found a way to incorporate that into the night. Our venue commented that they'd never seen their dance floor that full before. In my opinion the most important things in a wedding are a great group of guests, excellent food, and music that keeps the dance floor packed. Black Tie did just that, and we can't thank them enough.

The only thing I probley would have changed was my 'must play' list. I didn't have enough music for my older guests. But that was my choice in music selection. They found perfect times for special dances as well as fun things like the bouquet and garter toss. We initially signed a contract for the reception only, but a few weeks before the wedding were in need of a ceremony musician. They were eager to help us and agreed to do a whole other setup for our ceremony. Even though it was outside, the ceremony music was just the right volume and was discreetly set up. The volume of music at the reception was great, and they had a great mix that kept people on the floor. Many of the first dance and parent dance songs were not common songs and they had no problem finding the music to play for us. They were wonderful about communicating with us throughout the entire planning process, often checking in and reminding us what they needed to make our day the best it could be. This company is run very well and are highly recommended.

They also did uplighting in our reception, provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour (in two different locations) and ensured we would have excellent sound for the entire day. The uplighting was spectactular and well worth the extra cost.

We are not much into the organized dances like the electric slide, YMCA, chicken dance, etc. And Robert completely listened to what we wanted and did not want. No organized dances were played and we still danced the whole night (the dance floor was packed)! Also listen to his suggestions. He recommended uplighting, which we did opt for. It was amazing! - Our entire banquet room at Tween Waters in Captiva had aqua/pool blue uplighting which made it look like we were under water (perfect for a beach wedding). Our guests kept commenting on how good the room looked and how perfect of a DJ he was all night. We highly recommend Robert!!!
