Jeff was amazing! We worked with him for a little over a year. He was constantly checking on us making sure all our questions were answered. I never thought picking songs for a wedding would be so hard, but Jeff made it so easy when we would have our zoom meetings. He was definitely well organized, which was great because I am a very organized person. His website layout is so easy to work with and it even has recommendations too! I would definitely recommend black tie sounds for any event!

Jeff was so organized and helpful throughout the planning process. We felt very confident in his services and abilities from the jump. The entire wedding went on without a hitch thanks in large part to Jeff! He had perfect timing for all special ceremony & reception songs and his reception playlist was so much fun! Perfectly attuned to our guest's and our taste!

Mr. Burris was a perfect Event Host for our wedding. He was very flexible when it came to what we wanted for our ceremony and reception. He was also a huge benefit in helping us plan the wedding; he did so by bringing up things we had not considered and also brought a new perspective that helped my wife and I when it came to deciding on microphones and recording for our wedding video. Throughout the planning process, Mr. Burris met with us regularly to discuss our plans, and directly communicated with ourselves, family, wedding coordinator, and all of the vendors involved in our ceremony. During the ceremony, Mr. Burris was punctual, dependable and professional. He arrived to the venue early and set up all equipment without delay. Our ceremony was carried out without audio difficulties and the reception had a great atmosphere thanks to his efforts. We wholeheartedly recommend Black Tie Sounds to everyone looking for a dependable host and DJ for their wedding!

We LOVED Jeff! He was so kind and sweet. He answered any questions we had and made the process so simple and fun. The process to make your wedding playlist is set up so well and easy which took the stress off! He helped keep the time on the wedding day which helped keep everyone organized as well. The reception was so fun because of him!! If I could do it all over again, I would pick him every single time.

I was highly impressed with Jeff! What an amazing DJ. He is very well prepared. Jeff came in and got everything set up quickly. He even helped with time keeping for the wedding. I loved the fact he had spreadsheets to fill out to make the process easier to choose music. We did a couple of zoom meetings with him to go over info which was very helpful. I can echo all the other reviewers. Jeff is so much more than just a DJ. The DJ is probably THE most important person for your reception. Jeff met with us multiple times prior to the wedding day to make sure he understood the exact timeline for both the ceremony and the reception. He always builds redundancy into his setup so there is never a hiccup in real time. Jeff also custom curates a song list for each wedding based on what you tell him about your music preferences. The songs he played at our reception definitely kept the energy up and had people dancing all night. At the beginning of the reception, he kept the first dances, cake cutting, and toasts on-schedule. He is a top notch wedding DJ. If you can manage to book him, you will be more than pleased with your ceremony/reception experience.

Jeff was such a great DJ at our wedding! He was not only an amazing DJ, but he helped the wedding stay organized and flow smoothly. After our wedding we got so many compliments on the song choices selected. 10/10 recommend!!

Highly recommend Jeff Burris as a DJ! He was great at communicating every step of the way. Day of he made sure I heard my favorite song. I did not have a coordinator and Jeff was always on top of the reception schedule!! He also has an easy to use website to help with wedding song selections.

We were very particular about picking a DJ with our desire for a very customizable playlist and were very pleased with Jeff's services. He was very responsive to our needs and helped us pick personal selections for each of our special dances and key moments in our ceremony & reception, including some that we hadn't even though of. He must take detailed notes as he says he does because he played artists that we mentioned in passing in our meetings, even though we didn't specifically request them in our playlist. Jeff's timing of our music requests and his picks helped keep the dance floor alive, even with our small party of 40 people! He was also quick to respond to last-minute changes in our schedule, which made our night a bit easier.

Jeff was amazing at our wedding. He met with us ahead of time a couple of times to discuss our needs and wants, and had a great form to fill out for all the dances, genres, etc. that we wanted to include. He did a great job MCing as well, and really helped to make sure that our wedding ran smoothly. He picked up on the vibe of the dance floor and played what people wanted to dance to, which was amazing. He made it a really fun night. Would highly recommend.

Jeff was super professional and has a detailed website that made organizing timelines and picking songs very easy. He will set up meetings to discuss timelines and preferred music to make the experience as you envision it. He was on time the day of and was a huge help to us through out the night. 10/10 would recommend!

If I could choose the one thing that made our wedding such a success, it would be our amazing DJ, Jeff Burris of Black Tie Sounds. When we first met with Jeff, we immediately knew we had made the right choice. He understood the tone we wanted to set for the wedding and reception and helped guide us through the planning process. Jeff was always responsive whenever we had questions and was eager to assist in any way. I was particularly impressed with his organization, attention to detail, and preparedness for any problem that might possibly occur. He gave us suggestions whenever needed and was in tune with everything we were trying to accomplish. Jeff doesn’t just play music. He is a wonderful master of ceremonies, so personable and genuine, and set the tone for a relaxing and fun evening for all. Young and old alike spent the evening on the dance floor and several guests not known for their dancing surprised us all when they were still on the dance floor at the reception’s end. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe our experience with Black Tie. If you want to make your special day even more special, Jeff is your man. I guarantee you won’t regret it!

I would 10/10 recommend Jeff to anyone who is looking for a DJ for their wedding or any other event. I did a lot of research into into all kinds of people to DJ our wedding and Jeff was by far the best choice. From the very beginning he was extremely communicative with us to match what we wanted and figure out out our vision. His pricing is also extremely affordable compared to many of the other DJ's in the DFW area, especially with everything that he offers. On the day of the wedding he took initiative and made sure that the timeline at the reception ran smoothly. He was a great announcer and DJ and made our special day perfect!

Jeff did such a great job as the DJ/MC of our wedding reception. We could tell from our first meeting that Jeff knew what he was doing and would make sure everything went perfectly. He played exactly the music I wanted him to, he was great with guest requests, and was quick to respond when we had one or two things almost go wrong! Black Tie sounds is the absolute best! Jeff is very professional and helped guide us so we could have the best reception and ceremony possible! His online planning system is great and even offers suggestions for daddy daughter dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss etc. Jeff played every song we requested, stuck to our timeline and filled in the gaps with great music. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding!

Simply put, Jeff is AWESOME! We couldn't have asked for more from him at our wedding! He is super knowledgeable, organized, and just great at what he does. This review is long overdue, my apologies Jeff. My wife and I got married in November 2019 and then the following year was well, we all know how 2020 went. Back to the point, if you are looking for a DJ your search is over. Jeff is your guy. I cannot sing his praises enough. I was referred to Jeff from a good friend at work who shares a similar love of music. From our initial conversation to the end of our reception Jeff made us feel completely at ease with the process and his abilities. Jeff’s website we used to pick our preferred songs was incredibly user friendly and had an immense library. There wasn’t a song we could think of that he didn’t have. Jeff was very receptive to our thoughts, concerns and questions and offered great pointers and advice from his years of experience. Jeff made several wise recommendations including who “was allowed and not allowed” to make song requests and request to speak on the microphone. Before the wedding Jeff was mindful to ask us to point out important family members and any guests of honor. My wife and I wanted to streamline the reception process to cut out a lot of the silly traditions which Jeff was happy to help coordinate. Once the party got started Jeff was on point. He got all of our song requests played and he continued to do a phenomenal job of reading the crowd to keep people dancing. It’s always so sad to go to a wedding and not see anyone on the dance floor. That was not a problem at our wedding and with Jeff’s skills he kept the party rolling like Lionel Richie baby which is to say “All night long.” Jeff was everything we could have wished for and more. I’ll say it again. If you’re still searching for a DJ, STOP! You’re search is over. He is your guy.

Jeff was a fantastic and professional DJ. He came in as a last minute (3 days before the wedding!) substitute for our original DJ who tested positive for COVID. To the credit of both him and the original DJ, everything went off without a hitch. Jeff stepped up to the plate with professionalism and was very respectful of what we had originally planned and even sanitized the microphone that we used at the reception for speeches from the Best Man and Matron Of Honor. It's amazing how seamlessly things happened with only 3 days notice. He took the initiative and talked to my venue for me about things to help him get things done quickly on his end, so I didn't have to worry about anything. I can't recommend Jeff highly enough. If he did such an amazing job on 3 days notice, imagine if he had more time!

Jeff was absolutely AMAZING! He was so professional, and made our day so much fun and very special. He was easy to work with, and was really open to customizing our day to fit us. He even wrote our a personalized “love story” to read out at the reception before our entrance. Really a top notch guy, and very very worth it!

He was truly the leader of our wedding and he made our reception and cocktail hour a breeze. We was well prepared and knew exactly what he was doing. Jeff is amazing! Super friendly and professional. He does a great job listening to the client and what they are wanting. One of my favorite things is that he doesn't have the music crazy loud during cocktail hour and dinner so you're able to talk to people and enjoy that time without trying to yell at everyone lol He also doesn't try to take over and make it "his show" which I really appreciate! DJ Jeff Burris exceeded our expectations in so many ways on our wedding day. Jeff was our wedding DJ during the summer of 2020 while so many things were unknown. Still, Jeff was so clear and prepared for every aspect of his job and was the best and most responsive communicator out of almost every vendor we had. He is so easy to talk to and understands your wedding is your day, he doesn't want to overshadow any of us, but he made it the best possible day where our guests could celebrate us so well. He was prepared from having all the music downloaded beforehand but also knowing the mood of the crowd, to knowing each detail and timing of every important song played, to trying to match ties with our wedding colors, to keeping the ball rolling at our event and making everything run as smoothly as possible. Whether you are very detail oriented like me or you want to leave it up to the DJ for every song, Jeff is your guy! If you live in DFW you have found your DJ!!!

I found Black Tie Sounds after attending another wedding, and automatically knew I wanted Jeff to be our DJ. He was extremely professional, could read the crowd well, and truly enhanced the wedding by his skills and professionalism! He helped answer any questions I had about timing, song choices, order of events during the reception, etc. that most people probably already have figured out before they come to their DJ. He kept in touch with us and made sure we didn't have any questions or need any assistance throughout the planning process. The day of the wedding, he arrived a few hours early, making sure everything was completely set up. We were stress free on our wedding day because of him!

Jeff was on top of things from first contact (about ten months prior to our wedding) until the time we made our grand exit at the conclusion of the wedding. He was easy to contact and responded back immediately to our questions. Jeff is organized and wants to make sure his customers are at ease when the big day comes.
