s was in the back of my head. Our highlight video is amazing, and we couldn’t be happier. Our final cut is a beefy 90 minutes long and we cherish every single one of those minutes! The small moments that happened that we were too distracted to remember, those are the reasons you have a videographer. For professionalism, you can’t do better than Black Tie Video. Not only does Jim make sure that you have what you want, he asks questions about things you didn’t even know you wanted or realize you needed. As brides we lose focus a lot, so having a vendor that ACTUALLY looks out for you, well that is so super important, and something that people often take for granted. My husband Brad and I recently experienced the profound loss of his father. While working on the obituary and going through photos we remembered that Jim had captured Brad’s parent’s anniversary dance from our reception. We were hundreds of miles away from home and though we had the full cut from our wedding, knew nothing about video editing. Our wedding had occurred nine months prior, and Jim owed us nothing, but I emailed him in the hopes he could help us by isolating the dance and sending it to us so we could share it at the remembrance. Jim, being the kind of vendor that actually looks out for his clients, pointed out he also had footage of a short speech that my husband’s father gave at the reception, and offered to isolated that as well. Within 2 hours we had both clips at our fingertips, able to show to family and friends, and remember a man that was full of life and joy. It was thanks to Jim that we were able to share those two moments. It was because we hired a man that made me feel when I spoke to him for the first time that he was a genuinely good person. If you’re in doubt of whom you should hire as a videographer, just speak to Jim, you’ll feel by the time you get off of the phone that he is the right person for your big day, we know he was the right person for ours.

I can easily say that this was the best decision I have ever made. Jim and his wife were absolutely incredible the entire night. They were there and ready to go for all of the "behind the scenes" time prior to the ceremony and stayed until the very end. The extreme added bonus was the afternoon after our wedding I received an email from Jim with a 3 minute sneak peek video. I am incredibly happy that I got a videographer and so great duo that I was able to find Black Tie Video. They are an absolutely AMAZING company!

ly GOOD luck and both Barbara and Jim were available for my "new" wedding date :) When I first went to meet Jim, we ended up talking for over 2 hours and I knew we had our decision made! Then, during our planning and re-planning chaos, I asked Jim, "What is your perspective on a new date, a new location?" ... his first and immediate response was"Our perspective is that we are really excited to shoot your wedding and look forward to hearing the new plan as soon as you know." I doubt that many people will deal with some of the things we had to deal with, and I also doubt that too many people go looking for a videographer based on how they handle "jail time" and "tax fraud" being mixed in with wedding planning, but I have to include this information so you can really understand the full experience we had. I realized how important it was to truly LIKE the people you are working with, not just their work. I was so grateful that we had booked Black Tie Video and that they were so understanding, supportive, and patient when we were trying to figure out a new date, and a new location (even though it meant that they had obviously turned down many inquiries about our original date, and ended up being free after all!) So, with all of those added factors that we never could've planned for / hoped they would handle well ... we are also so happy with their professionalism and pleasant nature throughout the day. I always felt like it must be so strange to be followed with a video camera all day, but Barbara and Jim are so good about being in the background, sneaking around and catching great moments of the day. We have seen only our highlights so far, but I didn't want to wait to review any longer :) The highlight was amazing, and we received it THE NEXT DAY! (DISCLAIMER: We DID re-plan for FEBRUARY, when there are hardly no weddings, so I know this is not their norm, or anyone's, in terms of timing). If you're looking for videographers with personal care and investment in their work and the relationship with the couple, as well as a GREAT wedding video to hang onto forever, and a positive experience with planning and day of events, Black Tie Video is perfect for you :)

He did an amazing job at staying out of the way, but yet still getting up close for all the best moments! I loved talking with Jim in general because he shared many pertinent tidbits related to his experience with videography and also with weddings in general, from making me feel relaxed and not worrying about the weather forecast to other helpful hints related to our day! The wedding ceremony was filled with fun, sincerity and love and Black Tie captured the emotions of the day perfectly! They also included some candid shots that made the video even more special! Jim was quick to respond and speaking with him always left me with great confidence that the final product was going to be exactly what I wanted! I especially loved the highlight reel (which since it's short and filled with the most important moments has been watched a lot more than the full video). For this, I asked Jim if he could one song for the ceremony highlights and one for the reception. I was a little concerned that the transition between songs would be jarring but Jim was more than up for the challenge and it was perfect. After the full video was finalized, there were a lot of hiccups in the dvds getting to us that were not Black Tie Video's fault (for example, one was destroyed in transit by USPS) but Jim was patient, understanding, and quick to make everything better (he sent another dvd at no extra charge to us). In summary: Delightful people, wonderful product, amazing customer service.

we didn't pay a high dollar amount, the video quality we received was just what we wanted. Jim Skipper and his team are wonderful to work with. We did not have to meet up before the wedding day. Over email I told Jim my preferences and they nail it. They showed up on the wedding day right on time and were a dream to work with. They were a vendor that I did not have to say a word to the entire time so I often forgot they were there. I actually didn't even get a chance to chat with Jim until later into the reception, but that did not matter. Somehow they showed up and caught every moment without out me even realizing they were there. Jim Skipper is very easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good quality video, a reasonable price, and a genuine vendor to work with.

My videos (you get two different lengths) have been priceless to me and worth every bit that we payed. Not only was Black Tie professional and easy to work with, but I think Jim Skipper is truly an artist. You aren't just getting documentation of your wedding, your getting really personalized and quality work. My sister got married two months after me and her videographer (in Boston) was incredibly disappointing. The quality wasn't anywhere close to Black Tie even though the price was similar. We have had friends request Black Tie after seeing our video and we are always eager to recommend him to anyone we know. Having Black Tie as our videographer was truly a highlight of our wedding!

The montage you can share with friends and not overwhelm them, while the full length version you can watch with your spouse over and over and whoever else wants to watch the whole thing. On the big day, I spoke with them, but honestly hardly knew they were there. They capture the most amazing moments of the best day of your life, while not being in the way. If you are thinking of getting a video, but are not sure, just do it! And use Black Tie Video! You will not regret it. The day goes by so fast, and pictures are beautiful, but they only tell half of the story. We were so busy and had so much fun, but did not even remember what all happened that night. We had a lot of fun watching it together again and again while we unpacked and opened gifts. I did not even have to pay extra for the quick turnaround. I was so pleased. The video is beautiful. The sound is perfect, even the organ and soloists sound just as they did in the Naval Academy Chapel. The videography is excellent! They caught all the important moments, and with two shooters, there are closeups and long shots and the whole video is interesting. We are so glad we made the investment to have our ceremony filmed. And so glad we asked Black Tie Video to do it!

eographer has a lot of experience shooting weddings, and also had exclusive rights to film Extreme Home Makeover Edition that was filmed in Baltimore a couple summers ago. He is highly recommended!
