Our guests raved about the desserts all night long... and are still talking about them over a month later. To put this into even more perspective: we had almost 3x the amount of dessert than we did headcount on the day of, and we had 1 box of "takeaway" left over. Marley is easy to work with, flexible, and accommodating. She also has a wonderful relationship with our fabulous venue, Farm Road Estate, and this made the process that much more seamless. Blackbird Cake Design says "desserts are stress-free" and they mean it and execute it as such. Do yourselves, your guests, and your palates a favor and choose Blackbird Cake Design. I was having a difficult time choosing flavors for the cake and Marley jumped right in and offered her suggestions. Marley is truly an artist, our cake was too beautiful to want to eat. As a note - if you are doing a tasting, I highly, highly recommend waiting until the cake is fully room temperature - we did our first tasting when the cake had been out of the fridge for about 30 minutes - it was quite good, but it didn't even come close to the second tasting two hours later (which was truly incredible!). I am now thrilled we went with the two tier cutting cake so we can continue to nibble on it for the months to come!!

She made Maple Glazed Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, Mini Cupcakes in 3 flavors, and macarons in 3 flavors. Everyone loved all of them, including the gluten free versions! She also made our small ceremonial wedding cake, which was delicious and absolutely beautiful. I cannot recommend Blackbird Cake Design enough! Thank you, Marley!

licious chocolate rosemary with a buttercream frosting. She made chocolate chip cookies that were perfect and worked a new creation to mash together two of my husband's favorite desserts: apple cider donut bread pudding. She also cut and frosted cookies to look like our dog. We could not have asked for a better dessert table and it was all done at a reasonable price. An absolute yes!

(Truly, you have to try the London Fog for yourself, but all of the flavors that we tried were excellent.) We ended up with honey graham flavor and while some people missed the cake (too busy dancing!) the left overs are so delicious!!! The cake was also so beautifully decorated! We wanted a simple naked cake and we got a beautiful and elegant cake with small gorgeous details that made it extremely special!

I talked to Marley via phone and booked her without a tasting - I read reviews and was assured she would do a great job and she definitely did! We worked together on what I envisioned the cake to look like and Marley executed that vision 110 percent! The cake was so beautiful, not to mention delicious and the best surprise! Wedding guests have told me it was one of the best wedding cakes they’ve ever had! The cake was so delicious that I had the leftovers on our car ride home after the wedding!

After exchanging emails she assured me she would work on several different gluten free/dairy free cake recipes for us. On the day of the tasting she brought so many awesome cupcakes and even some gluten/dairy free cupcakes for my husband to taste. She was always prompt when answering emails and was lovely to work with. Her flavors are amazing and unique. I would recommend the chocolate peanut butter cupcake the most!

She also went to great lengths to make sure the buttercream didn't melt on an incredibly hot and humid August afternoon! She was professional, fun, and she’s an amazing baker. We had no complaints, and a ton of impressed wedding guests. Seeing some of her amazing creations developed since then, I can only imagine her baking is more delicious now!

Our tasting was so fun- the cupcakes she created were delicious and she event customized one flavor for us. When it came to the day- she delivered to our wedding venue and noticed that the placement of the cupcakes for our outdoor wedding needed to be adjusted so they didn't melt! That one detail was so important and she took care of it on her own- I didn't even get the chance to stress it! She worked with my florist to have the most gorgeous flowers on our cutting cake and adorable little buds and details atop each cupcake (like itty bitty real maple leafs on our maple cupcakes)! Marley comes with 5+++ stars from my husband and I. What a wonderful, personal experience. Cannot wait to dig into our frozen wedding cake on our first anniversary and relive the experience!
