bsite nearly every day waiting for new blog posts, started following her on instagram, and facebook, and read just about every review out there. As luck would have it, I met somebody who had actually worked with her (after about 4 months of stalking, and whining to my fiance) and she was highly recommended. My fiance finally told me to just call her, and history was made. I called and we chatted about 20 minutes before we even got down to business, it was an instant connection. The connection only greew as we started planning engagement picture outfits; Leslie was patient, and HONEST with me about what would look good, and what wouldn't. She's the expert-- why would I not listen to her? My engagement pictures turned out stunning. Six months rolls by and suddenly it's the wedding day! Leslie was amazing to work with both on the day of my wedding (between rain, running late, and about 1,000 props I "needed" #extra), and leading up to it. I would recommend her to anybody, but the best advice I received in planning my wedding was to hire a photographer that I could have a natural conversation with, this way my pictures wouldn't look forced-- through my searching I couldn't agree more now that I've been through it. Picking a wedding photographer is a huge decision, and you have to be comfortable with that person, but have you ever heard anyone say "I wish I didn't spend so much on my wedding pictures"? No... you haven't. Another piece of advice-- do the engagement session! I can't stress this enough... we thought we'd be totally fine in front of the camera, but it actually takes some getting used to. Leslie kindly put us in our places, made us comfortable and laugh, and got us used to what we should be doing in front of the camera. By the time our wedding rolled around we were both perfectly prepared with what to expect and our photos turned out great-- I've received countless comments from friends, coworkers, and even strangers. Oh! And have you ever heard the stories about people waiting MONTHS to get their wedding pictures back?! That won't happen with Leslie, she turned around the photos so quick-- nobody could believe it! I am so happy I chose BlackSheepChic as my wedding photographer-- Leslie is full of energy, can keep everyone on task, and extremely talented. Hire her!

With Black Sheep Chic, I immediately loved the design of the website, the style of the photos, and price points that didn't make my heart sink with dismay. This combination was very rare to find! Upon booking our engagement session, her style consultation via email was quite helpful. Usually she responded to emails nearly instantly! My fiance and I are fairly introverted and quiet, but Leslie has a great personality for getting people to relax during a photo session. She's funny and down-to-earth and makes it easy to keep smiling and laughing. Best of all, she has a great eye for poses and scenery that will look natural and beautiful. It just so happened that as I was beginning to seriously look for a wedding photographer, Leslie posted a brochure of her services on Facebook, advertising that she loves to travel to do her work. I inquired about travel expenses to the north suburbs of Chicago, and she quoted an extremely reasonable rate! The rest is history. She is very easy to communicate with, prompt to respond, and was very fun to work with throughout the whole process.

For our wedding, I was an out of town bride and I was worried about losing a lot of contact with vendors and feeling rushed to be in touch last minute. Leslie went out of her way to answer any questions that I had in the time coming up to our wedding (at least a year since our engagement pictures were taken). On our wedding day, Leslie jumped right in to make sure all the boutonnieres were on the men’s jackets properly so they wouldn’t fall off throughout the ceremony. It was cold and rainy on our wedding day, but you couldn’t tell in our pictures. I can’t say enough, she did a great job.

my sash on my dress so that it would look nice instead of just a hanging piece of ribbon, and she helped place the groomsmens' boutonnières in the correct place on their vests. She's also very personable. My bridesmaids and family are still talking about how great she is. And the pictures! She captured our wedding perfectly, even in a dark church that doesn't allow flash photography. My friends and family have all commented on how well she captures candids, which is why we chose her to photograph our wedding in the first place. Hire Leslie to capture the memories of your wedding, she's worth it.
