Our wedding at Blackstone Rivers Ranch was nothing short of magical. The setting is absolutely breathtaking — we had our ceremony beside the river, surrounded by golden aspens at their peak color on the last weekend of September. It felt peaceful and secluded, tucked away in nature, yet still easily accessible from the Front Range. The facilities were very well-maintained, and the layout between the ceremony site, reception tent, and bridal & groomsmen suites was very practical and functional.
The entire experience was so thoughtfully planned and professionally run. Every detail felt considered in advance, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the day. The staff was incredibly friendly, responsive, and organized throughout the entire process — from our first visit to the wedding day itself.
We couldn’t have imagined a more special place to celebrate our wedding. Blackstone Rivers Ranch truly captured everything we hoped for — beautiful nature, and an atmosphere filled with love and care.

WOW! My husband and I do not have enough words to express how perfect our wedding was at Blackstone Rivers Ranch!! It was such a magical day from start to finish! Our guests could not stop raving about how exquisite the venue was and we agree completely! We only looked at Blackstone for wedding venues and fell in love immediately! Their staff are top notch professional and excellent at communicating! They set fair deadlines for details and payments and are clear about their policies and make sure all parties are aware before signing the contract. All of our vendors we worked with LOVE Blackstone, and some even mentioned it was their favorite venue!! It was a seamless process from start to finish working with BRR and exceeded every expectation! It did rain just a little bit but ended right before the ceremony. The staff jumped into action and wiped down all the benches for our guests. The tent was perfect for the reception, with plenty of space for dinner and dancing!! It was truly the wedding of our DREAMS, and we were so lucky to be able to get married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch! Added bonus, there are also two BEAUTIFUL places to take couple photos after the ceremony just up the road. My recommendations for future brides are to book EARLY - especially if you're wanting a Saturday wedding in the Fall - as dates get booked quickly (a big indication of how amazing this venue is!). There IS a parking lot hidden from the ceremony/reception space, but you may want to consider hiring transportation if guests aren't staying in Idaho Springs as the drive. Our guests loved the added touch, and it prevented any drinking and driving!

The day-of was run with a level of competency above our expectations. We truly felt we were cared for and like our wedding was their priority. BRR has a reputation of being strict, and the result is a polished and professionally run venue and beautiful, stress-free weddings. Immediately upon visiting the grounds we fell in love with the creek, beauty of the towering trees, and the idea of having our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all outdoors. We really appreciated the responsiveness of the Blackstone team and their work to make every couple feel special while ensuring that every detail is taken care of. Our guests loved the venue and we had many people coming from out of state who had the chance to stay in local cabins along the road of the venue which made it super convenient for everybody. Our wedding day was beautiful and could not have been more perfect. Highly recommend BRR!

t of state which made venue selection a tough decision. The second we found Blackstone online we knew it was the one. The pictures online are so beautiful and it’s even more impressive in person. It is all around a stunning venue. We wanted an intimate venue setting and that’s exactly what you get. From the sounds of the creek next to the ceremony site to the stunning trees, the impressive tent for reception area to the main building that houses bathrooms and suites, and the twinkling lights in just the right places, there is not an area of this venue that we were not absolutely in love with. This venue is very versatile could absolutely accommodate any style of wedding a couple desires and is beautiful any time of the year.
Not only does this venue impress with its appearance, It also comes with one amazing staff. From the day we started our research to the day of our event the Blackstone Staff was nothing short of kindness, organization, knowledge and professionalism. They made the booking and planning process so smooth. We had every single question answered in an extremely timely manner. They were absolutely accommodating and willing to work with us upon any request, special need or circumstance.
Wendy was our day of coordinator and we would love to give her special recognition.
As spring is unpredictable in Colorado we did end up with some snow on the day of the wedding. Wendy went out of her way to personally pick me (the bride) up where our party bus dropped us off and drive me down to the bridal suites so I did not have to get my shoes, dress and veil wet/dirty before the ceremony. I wanted to thank her again for that gesture and let her know how much it meant to me. We know the entire staff moved mountains to get the venue ready for our day after the unexpected weather.
We could write so many good things about this venue, but we will stop here. This venue clearly strives for an excellence that was very clear and appreciated by us.
We will be forever grateful for this staff and venue for making our day so special and unforgettable. We are trying to think of another event to have so they can host us again!

e property is maintained immaculately by the staff there, the vibes are high with the lighting, the mountain side bar, fire pits and the reception tent. Oh and the creek running right through the property really adds a nice, calming touch. The attention to detail can be seen everywhere on the property, including in the lodge. The venue just has a very warm and welcoming feeling, and our guests had nothing but great things to say about their experience. If you have guests coming from out of town into Denver, and want a mountain wedding close to the city so it's easy for folks to get to, this venue is it! The staff at Blackstone was also super helpful, communicative and collaborative during the entire planning process and of course on our big day! If you are looking for an intimate, scenic venue in the Rocky Mountains, look no further than Blackstone Rivers Ranch!

s love at first sight. Cheryl gave us the tour at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, she has a beautiful soul as did everyone who works for this venue. Each one of them were so kind and helpful. This venue has years of experience and a preferred list of vendors that make this process much easier and more relaxed as they work so well together (and as a bride you feel comfortable and confident that everything will go well). This is very important working as a team to create such a special day for two people.
None of our family or invited friends knew about this place. We had guests from Minnesota, Mexico, California, Spain, Colombia, Panama, and other countries. We knew that they were making a huge sacrifice to be here on our special day. The time for the wedding arrived and when our guests arrived at Blackstone Rivers Ranch they were stunned and delighted, our guests did not stop commenting that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to. We had compliments about the venue, catering, DJ, coordinator, photographer, EVERYTHING from our guests.
As a bride I was afraid of having the same problem as the other brides, who always had some complaint or something that did not go the way they wanted on their special day, BUT NO I was not one of those brides (YAY)! My wedding was the best and the most perfect thanks to Blackstone Rivers Ranch and their list of preferred vendors. Without the help of BRR my wedding would not have been possible to plan as perfectly. Every penny invested in this wedding was worth it to the fullest. My husband and I are more than sure that it was the best decision we have ever made in having a big wedding with 100 guests and not a small wedding with only 15 or 20 guests.
My guests fell in love with our wedding and the venue and they couldn't stop talking about it. They all told us that it was worth the sacrifice they made to travel from far away to experience the beautiful views of the mountains and the river at the venue, the big and beautiful white tent. EVERYTHING was romantic and unique.
My husband and I will always be grateful to BRR, our words and gratitude will not be enough for the enormous satisfaction and happiness we had on our wedding day.

They have a preferred vendor list which at first we weren’t too sure about but after exploring the options we ended up really liking most of their preferred vendors anyway. This venue also requires that you hire a day of coordinator. Overall we had a very positive experience with Blackstone. I will say they are pretty strict on the rules and don’t allow for a ton of flexibility in that regard. We also struggled quite a bit with the planning software they use. However, we had an absolutely magical wedding and our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful BRR is.

and us easy to work with! We work extremely hard to be incredibly responsive, so we are so very happy that was your experience! Yes, the dressing suites at Blackstone are just that - dressing suites. We do advertise them as that. They look exactly how they do on our website and in photos. We offer two terrific packages for our couples - either 7 hours of time or 10 hours of time. Our couples are certainly able to add on hours to their package if they would like more time on property. Yes, there is an additional fee for extra hours and the upstairs spaces because we have to pay our staff to be at the venue longer than originally contracted for, and pay our cleaners for the additional time it takes to clean the upstairs spaces, if they are used. We do detail 100% of all these charges in our brochure, so it is never a surprise. Couples know exactly what our venue costs to rent before they even schedule a tour. We are 100% committed to pricing transparency. If our prices do not align with a couples’ needs, wants, or budget, we always encourage them to continue searching for their perfect venue. We would never want a couple to book us, if our venue requirements are not in alignment with our couples. We are so happy that you enjoyed getting married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, and we wish you two a lifetime of happiness <3

beautiful outdoor wedding in the Colorado mountains and boy did this venue deliver. Despite its space it managed to feel magical and intimate with its aspen trees, peaceful creek and absolutely stunning ceremony space. We loved the slight separation of the cocktail space by the creek and the rocking chairs on the porch from the reception tent, it allowed our more low key guests a place to gather and chat away from the music while still feeling like part of the celebration. Perhaps our guests favorite part though were the fire pits where they could sit and chat while they made s’mores (I think we lost most of our guests from the dance floor to the s’mores when they were announced). For the staff we were blown away by their communication and professionalism. From the first time we met them during the tour we felt we were in good hands. They always answered our questions quickly and kept us on track throughout the process. I never once felt anxious knowing they were working without our coordinator to handle everything for our wedding. Would absolutely recommend them and their incredible venue over and over!

o ceremony. In late September, the leaves are changing while the flowers are still in bloom giving the venue an effortless beauty that did not require a ton of decor. The tent was a great place to have a reception keeping everyone warm into the evening while still letting you feel the crisp mountain air. The venue staff are incredibly generous and easy to work with answering all of our questions and being transparent about pricing. Our wedding went exactly as we pictured it when we fell in love with it in the first place. We also have had multiple guests and others reach out to us raving and asking about our amazing venue. Also, their recommended vendors are TOP NOTCH and most of them know each other and have all worked together at Blackstone before, so literally everything went seamless! 10/10 recommend having your wedding or event at Blackstone Rivers Ranch. There is no way you will regret it!! I haven't gotten my professional photos back yet, but the attached are from my guests and vendors!
Pro Tip WHEN you choose Blackstone Rivers Ranch: We had all of our wedding party and guests stay at the Ameristar Blackhawk Casino (25 min away from the venue) and it was incredible because the bar is open all night long and all the drinks were $4. So the casino after party (after both the rehearsal dinner at Tommy Knockers AND the wedding) were an absolute HIT. It's expensive to stay there but their prices dropped substantially the week before my wedding and most of our guests were able to cancel their rooms and re-book at the cheaper price.
Also, Blackstone will make you use one of their required vendors for a planner and caterer, I HIGHLY suggest MAG events and Mountain Crust Catering (unlimited pizza buffet truck). My guests are still talking about the pizza and again "how it was the best wedding they had ever been to"

as, including the various spaces between the ceremony area, cocktail hour space, and reception tent. While the location off I-70 was a concern for us (with traffic/construction), we had no issues transporting people from the hotel in Golden.
It's not the cheapest of venues and there are quite a bit of upsells, but the quality is evident. The grounds of the venue were beautiful day-of (after only seeing it in late October and early May) and I was so impressed with the flowers and foliage, and the creek of course.
The team was really easy to work with, and never added to the stress of planning a wedding. Hoping I get to attend as a guest one day :) Thanks, BRR team!

Staying in their Claim Jumper Cabin also meant we could just relax and crash at the end of the night on site, plus we were able to enjoy our morning coffee by the creek as newlyweds. exactly what it is like in person! The staff there was so accommodating and willing to answer any and all questions across the 10 months while planning the wedding. The wedding day was absolutely incredible and everything was exactly how we imagined and more. There was plenty of space for all of our guests, we kept dry during the rain under the tent and had plenty of space to move around and dance with our guests. I couldn’t recommend this venue enough!

beautiful, and the mountain drive perfectly sets the mood as you pull up to the gate.
The staff were great to deal with at every step of the process. The communication was clear and there were no surprises. At first, we were skeptical about choosing from a small list of vendors. But, looking back we wouldn’t change a single thing about the process. Our vendors were incredible, and the previous experience working together definitely showed. We didn’t have to worry about anything during our day (except one unruly aunt, sorry about that, lol). The staff made sure everything was taken care of before we needed to think about it.
One of the only things you can’t control on your wedding day is the weather, and thankfully we had perfect weather. Blackstone was really showcasing its beauty during our mid-October wedding. The Blackstone property itself, as well as the surrounding area, gave us the most perfect day of weather we could’ve imagined. It was a snowy morning that turned into a sunny afternoon and settled into perfect, chilly, bonfire weather. It was our Fall Wedding dream come true.
I’m writing this review pretty late, but in the time since our wedding, we have had so many guests bring up how beautiful Blackstone is and how wonderful their night was. For that, we cannot thank them enough.
