Blackstone Valley String Quartet

Blackstone Valley Quartet was amazing! They were responsive, flexible, and most importantly they sounded incredible. Our demands were pretty high (songs we wanted them to learn, lots of cues for them to navigate throughout the evening, etc.), yet they were flawless. If you are considering live string music for your wedding, do it! There’s nothing comparable to for your ceremony. And if you decide on string music, book Blackstone ASAP. We asked them to play various pop renditions, which was fantastic.

I hired this band for a private “engagement picnic.”. On 2022 summer solstice evening. Their performance was a perfect addition for the event on riverside. Yes, I would hire them again, and they receive a great thumbs up from me and now fiancé.

Blackstone Valley String Quartet is fantastic! I had always wanted strings played for my wedding ceremony but didn't know if it was feasible. Once my (now) wife and I decided to go for it, it couldn't have been a better experience. Sylvia was great to work with, we appreciated their selection of music, and that they could learn new songs requested. Hearing their beautiful music playing as the bridal parties and then us brides walked down the aisle, made those moments even more special and added to the memories of the amazing day. I absolutely recommend them for weddings and events!

My now husband and I went back and forth on whether to have pre-recorded music or live musicians for our ceremony and cocktail hour. After we heard Blackstone Valley String Quartet, we knew right away they had the sound we were looking for. Sylvia was wonderful to talk to and knowledgeable about which song pieces would sound best with multiple instruments. Their inventory of songs was a great selection of contemporary music balanced with traditional classical songs. Many of our guests commented that they loved the “Bridgerton” atmosphere the string quartet created. I am so happy we made the decision to hire these professional musicians.

BVS blew everyone away. Their exceptional musicianship and ability to customize playlists that reflected our vision, gave our ceremony and cocktail reception that something special - creating a ton of energy and setting the tone for all the festivities that followed. Can’t begin to tell you how many guests commented on the cool Bridgerton vibe BVS gave to the event. Will definitely hire them again!!

I’m so happy we hired Blackstone Valley String Quartet for our wedding day. My husband and love the song Blood by The Middle East and pictured it as the perfect song to walk down the aisle to for our wedding day. Though it’s outside their catalog, BVSQ was willing to play it at no additional cost - it’s one of my favorite moments of the day and something I’ll remember forever. In addition to this, their payment and booking system is super convenient + all online which I appreciated as a busy bride. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

I cannot say enough great things about Sylvia and her performers! My wife and I had to alter our wedding plans due to COVID, and Sylvia was absolutely wonderful to work with in what was a challenging and stressful time for us. She walked us through various options, provided very helpful suggestions in planning the music for the ceremony, and made the contract process very easy. The performance during the ceremony was fantastic, and while our ceremony was small all of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the enjoyed the musical performance. If you are considering hiring musicians for your ceremony, I highly recommend choosing the Blackstone Valley String Quartet!

I normally forget or don't have time to write reviews, but I made sure I didn't forget this one. Blackstone Valley String Quartet brought tears to my eyes when I walked down the isle. I was very specific of how I wanted my music to go and they made my vision come alive. Sylvia (the owner of Blackstone Valley String Quartet) was overly willing to speak with me on the phone and answer all my annoying emails quickly. They even recorded one of the songs I requested for an example, which I can tell you many string quartets would not do. They can most likely accommodate any song you want with enough time. I changed the song that I walked down the isle to a few weeks before my wedding and it was a song they hadn't played before, but they said it could be done. When I heard it I had chills, it was exactly how I always had envisioned walking down the isle. It was like they had been playing that song for years. They also played a different song for parents of the bride/groom, bridesmaids and ring bearers/flower girls and then for me, which I thought was so impressive because they started and stopped the song at the perfect place within the song. I was so unbelievably happy and thankful that I just can't wait to see my video to hear all the songs that I missed. My husband said when they played Shallow and Downtown Abbey he had chills. I still have friends and family from our wedding telling us that our String Quartet brought tears to their eyes and were absolutely breathtaking. That is exactly what I wanted. The only thing I wish was that they had more videos and recordings of how they played on their website. Their website examples do not do them justice, because if they had more recordings and videos from weddings, I promise you would not think twice about hiring them. If you want breathtaking music at your wedding then you need to go with them. Hire them now because I don't doubt they soon will booked because they will be at the top of all wedding websites recommended vendors list!

Working with Blackstone Valley String Quartet was truly a pleasure. Sylvia worked with my husband and myself to ensure our ceremony and cocktail hour music was personal and meaningful. Our guests rave about BVQ's talent and the ambiance they created. Sylvia and her team went above and beyond to make our ceremony and cocktail hour perfect. I would recommend BVQ to anyone who wishes to have a magical wedding day.

Do not recommend this band at all. Had my wedding in July, not only that (because we were running late) they allowed a long Period of awkward silence during the CEREMONY, but also messed up our first dance. It was of poor quality, and they faded out the ending so we had to do our dip in basically silence after the song was over just for photography purposes. Obviously as the bride I was not fully focused on ensuring every detail on the day of, as i am an not even available the time before ceremony since I am getting ready, it is more so expected based on vendors’s professionalism and experience, however, reviews from guests regarding them were also poor. And their prices are honestly about the same as others. I did not receive the level of professionalism I expected from all the vendors, it was simply a poor experience.

They did a beautiful job and made my sons wedding extra special!

My husband and I are so thankful for Blackstone, they were a huge part of what made our wedding so memorable. Their catalogue of music is extensive & they were able to learn new music for our ceremony very quickly. They were responsive, their pricing was competitive, they behaved professionally and elegantly, and our guests absolutely loved them. Honestly the easiest recommendation I can make from our long list of wedding vendors is Blackstone — I have zero complaints and endless compliments and happy memories from their performance.

Blackstone Valley String Quartet was absolutely fantastic! We wanted the music featured at our ceremony and the cocktail hour to fit our unique personalities. Sylvia and the string quartet did just that. Not only was she easy to reach, but she was open to creative additions to music as well. Our guests still rave about their music today. Your wedding is one of the most exciting and stressful days, but hearing that music going up and down the aisle made me feel so at ease and confident.
