BLEU, a Blowdry Bar is a blowout focused hair salon in the greater New Orleans area. Old Metairie opened in September 2013 and has been "blowing and going" ever since. Boasting a luxury styling experience coupled with superb products, BLEU's menu has grown to offer not only fabulous Dry Styles, Blowouts and Updos but now Makeup Applications, Keratin Express, Olaplex and CBD Treatments and Hair Extensions but also both In Salon and On Location Bridal and wedding party services. BLEU is also the perfect place to host pre bachelorette, shower or rehearsal dinner actives. Our fabulous stylists specialize in both traditional and trendy hair and makeup techniques to make you look and feel like your best self. A fabulous makeup artist works here, Emily LaBorde, I flew in for a family October wedding and she made the process go smoothly without issues. He never met me I requested a natural look and eyelashes. Every photo during the day/evening was amazing. My makeup lasted into the wee hours of the after parties. Totally professional!

Loved our experience. From the hair and make up trial through the wedding, the Bleu crew takes care of you! Really warm and talented team. Every one of our ladies felt gorgeous. I am extremely grateful that we were in such amazing hands!

Bleu did an amazing job on hair and makeup services for my wedding! They were able to make all 11 of us (Me, 7 bridesmaids, my mom, and flower girl) look and feel gorgeous. The best part was it only took 3 hours! All my girls were so happy we were able sleep in and not have to get up at 8am and sit around all day long like I have for other weddings. We had in salon services (which made everything feel more glamorous) and brought in snacks and champagne while we hung out. All of the stylists were helpful, friendly, and professional. If anyone had a specific style in mind, they accommodated and made any adjustments if someone wanted tweaking. They were amazing!

Emily and Paige were incredible to work with! I had a large wedding party, and they were able to have us in and out of the salon within 3 hours. Each of my bridesmaids hair and makeup looked flawless. I am so happy I chose Bleu for my wedding day. Thank you thank you!

This salon was one of my venues preferred vendors so i felt solid booking with them. Paid $200 plus the tip for my hair and makeup trial. I was not given the option to pick who did my hair or makeup- the salon told me they would pair me up with someone who was experienced with the style. After expressing my dissatisfaction via email the next day they also wouldn’t give me back my additional $100 deposit for my wedding 6 months from now, because i did ultimately sign a contract but truly a bummer that an exception could not have been made considering how far away my wedding date is + how unhappy i was with my hair and makeup, meaning i paid about $350 for this whole experience. they take your $100 deposit from the trial appointment and just move it over to the wedding day appointment at the end of the trial so it’s not like i could have spoken up at the end of the trial, which also would have been mortifying for both me and the artists who were standing there as i checked out. I did not want to leave this review but them not giving back my deposit just really felt like the straw that broke the camels back. so i guess just a word of caution to not book your wedding day with them until after the trial to save yourself some $ if you are unhappy with your appt. Unfortunately i am out of town and had no choice but to book both at the same time.

I am so happy we went with Bleu for my wedding! They did such an amazing job! We had Paige for makeup and Randi for hair. I did a trial with both of them before and they were both so receptive to feedback about what I liked and what I wanted to change. They arrived on time and had no issues finishing on time. Highly recommend!

I was very happy working with BLEU for my wedding day! I did a bridal trial with Paige in advance of the wedding and also got a blowout at BLEU the Friday of the wedding weekend. I wanted a very natural/timeless look and Paige was great with listening to my requests! It was also convenient having them do hair and makeup. I recommend working with BLEU!

I would highly recommend BLEU, a Blowdry Bar to anyone getting married. I am a wedding planner and I have really enjoyed working with them. They are very thorough and always respond quickly (a very important quality in a vendor). Not only that, but their work is amazing! I have been so pleased with the hair and makeup services they provided. Working with BLEU is truly a pleasure! 10/10 highly recommend!

I got both hair and make up done for my bridal shots, and the pictures came out great!! I loved the look. Besides being talented, the staff is so friendly and accommodating. I had to reschedule my appointment last minute to avoid rainy weather. The staff went out of their way to make it work. Nothing but great things to say!

Bleu, a Blowdry Bar did such an amazing job on hair and makeup for my bridal party. I found Bleu for my engagement pictures and knew I wanted Randi specifically to do my wedding hair and makeup. The entire staff was so accommodating and were able to keep us on schedule even when we had some extra makeup needed. Everyone looked beautiful and our day was perfect.

I ended up postponing my big wedding until 2021 due to COVID, but we last minute decided to elope on our originally planned date. BLEU was able to squeeze me in with less than a 2 week notice for a bridal hair/makeup trial and hair/makeup on our wedding day. Teara did my makeup and Erica did my hair both dates. They both did an incredible job and I felt SO beautiful!

With Less than one month from my rescheduled covid wedding I found BLEU. They were quick with responding to all of my questions and concerns. I loved doing a bridal trial with them to show them my vision for hair and makeup. On my wedding day Erica and Tierra were amazing! We had such A-blast getting our hair and make up done! My bridesmaids, flower girl and MOB all loved their hair and makeup. The girls arrived on time and stuck with our timeline. They did touch ups when needed and provided lipstick samples for reapplication if needed. You definitely need to book them for your wedding you won't regret it! I will definitely be using them again in the future.

I am beyond satisfied with BLEU. I scheduled a hair and makeup trial the day before my wedding and felt like a beautiful princess for my rehearsal dinner. Gerald did my hair and Emily did my makeup while I sipped on complimentary champagne. Once we hammered out the details of what I liked and didn't like, both Gerald and Emily made me feel even more beautiful the day of my wedding!

Teara did a beautiful job on my hair and makeup. I am a bride in her 40s and she looked at my ideas and helped me make them age appropriate. She asked me questions every step of the way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I felt glamorous on my special day!!! I could not be happier with my experience!!!

Emily, Jessica and all the girls at BLEU were exactly what I was looking for when I went searching for wedding day hair & makeup. Booking their team was super simple to do over email and they showed up ready to roll on the wedding day with styling tools in hand at our getting ready location! I did not to a trial run before the day, but I felt confident in their abilities after a quick scan of their social media. The girls listened to me while I explained what I wanted and were more than willing to "build" my look, starting out with minimal make up until I felt we had reached my best look while still feeling natural and like "me". They were so friendly and helpful, and did not mind the last minute additions when some of my bridesmaids decided they wanted both hair and make up done day of! They truly wanted my bridal party to feel confident in the way they looked and were very accommodating if the girls requested more eyeliner, less foundation, a different shade of lipstick, etc. I would rebook BLEU 100x over for my wedding day if I could relive the day again and again. They were fabulous!

I went to BLEU to have my hair and make-up done for a photo shoot. The pictures were going to be used professionally, so it was really important that I looked not only natural, but also like myself. They nailed it! I felt natural, but beautiful and glamorous. I was floored at the quality for the price. In the past I have paid a fortune, but was always disappointed! At BLEU the quality far exceeded the cost and the atmosphere was amazing! I’ll never go to another place. I’ll be a costumer for life!

Wow! I had Bleu do my hair and makeup when I was Queen of Pygmalion in Feb. 2019. Of course, it looked beautiful. Emily was fantastic! However, here is the biggest part of this review.... I rode on a float for 3 1/2 hours in storming, not drizzling, not on and off, I mean horrific rain! I had no cover. When I got to the reviewing stands, my hair and makeup were still PERFECT! I have pictures to prove it! My daughter is Queen this year and we will be going to Bleu for hair and makeup. It is well worth it!!! Thank you to this great team!

OMG, I can’t say enough WONDERFUL things about Bleu as a whole and all of the awesome people that work there! I was literally glowing on my wedding day. Not only because I was so happy but because Emily is a superwoman when it comes to makeup! SO many people asked about my hair/makeup and I will send everyone and anyone their way! Bleu totally made me feel like a princess on my wedding day! They came to my location and did my hair/makeup along with all my bridesmaids! Jessica did my hair and I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted. Teara did my make up and it was so light but bold. My hair and make up held up all day long through pictures, rain, heat, and reception.

Alex (hair) and Emily (makeup) were both awesome! Before the wedding with trials, they were both very patient with me and listened to what I wanted. The day of the wedding, they were on time and full of energy! They definitely added to the whole getting ready experience. All the bridesmaids, moms and my hair and makeup looked amazing! I definitely recommend Bleu :)

The Bleu team was such a great choice for our wedding! We planned a destination wedding in New Orleans and initially booked hair and makeup services on site for our wedding. When the makeup artist that I completed my trial with left Bleu, Emily, the owner, was willing to work with me and help reassure me before the wedding. April did hair for my bridal party and for some of my bridesmaids and was wonderful! I also did a blowout with them before the rehearsal dinner that left me feeling just as wonderful. April understood my vision for the day and worked until it was perfect. All of my bridesmaids also left feeling beautiful and like April understood their vision. She was right on time and had everybody finished and looking beautiful with a few minutes to spare. Thank you April and the rest of the Bleu team!

Bleu and the whole staff are amazing! April and Jessica did all the makeup and hair for my wedding and all my girls turned out beautifully. No one had a complaint! They touched up when they were asked to touch up certain spots and they fit in special requests when time permitted! I normally don’t wear makeup, so April had her work cut out for her. She made me feel so comfortable in makeup and made sure I was ok with everything she applied. I have never had an issue with this staff and want to find an excuse to get my makeup and hair done again:)

We hired Bleu on site for my bridesmaids, mom, and I for hair and make up for our wedding. I love them so much I even went there for our rehearsal dinner the night before. I got SO MANY compliments on my hair and make up both nights and all my bridesmaids were so happy and impressed (which we know rarely happens!). Everyone loved having Bleu there - they were a calm presence during the day who made everyone happy! I will continue to go there anytime I have an event!

The entire Bleu team is amazing! I used them for engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and the Bleu Krewe came to us the day of our wedding. Everyone I came in contact with during the whole process was great. They are so professional, friendly, and most importantly talented! I can't recommend them enough.

Joanna and April did an amazing job for my wedding! We had services for 10 - bride, mother of the bride, and 8 bridesmaids - Bleu suggested starting at 8:00 AM to be done by my call time of 2:30 PM. Joanna and April were extremely efficient - we finished right before 2:30. They listened to what I wanted and everyone looked beautiful. Hair and makeup lasted all night! The trials process was also easy - I made an appointment for me and my mom at one of their New Orleans locations. They were very open to hearing feedback and this made the wedding day so easy. They also handle payment prior to the wedding day, so there is no collection of money during prep time which makes things a lot easier. Efficient, professional, amazing work - I am so happy I booked Bleu for my wedding!

Bleu has always been my favorite blow dry bar, so I knew I wanted to book them for my wedding. Reserving the date and running through the trial hair and makeup was a breeze. April and Joanna were like superstars on my big day. Funny, personable and make you feel like you're their best friend getting married. Would recommend them for years to come.

ASK FOR GERALD! From my engagement pictures to the day of my wedding he was always amazing. Everyone he worked on the day of the wedding looked beautiful from start to finish! Even going back over everyone once we were finished for touch ups before he left. I can't thank Gerald and the whole Bleu Krewe enough for making my crew look amazing on my special day!

Getting ready for my wedding went perfectly because of Bleu! Joanna and Marissa arrived right on time to get everyone ready and they were so fun to have around laughing and chatting. They made everyone feel like a million bucks and perfected every hair style that each girl asked for. Jessica came from another on location to mine so she could help finish my mom and I’s make up which was absolutely amazing! These girls gave every single one of us 100% of their time and I could not have made it through the day without them!

Bleu did a fantastic job on my bridal party's hair and makeup! I don't wear a lot of makeup so I was nervous about someone getting my look right without overdoing it. April did an amazing job making me look and feel GORGEOUS for my bridal portraits and wedding, while still looking like myself. We went into the salon to have everything done and they turned a large group (10 people) around in 3-4 hours unlike other weddings I've been in where hair/makeup lasted half the day. They made beautiful easy and I would recommend them to anyone!

Rachel, Holly, and all the girls at Bleu are truly wonderful to work with. The arrived on time the day of my wedding and got right to work. They barely stopped to have a bite of lunch! I had 9 bridesmaids and myself getting hair and makeup done, with a start time of 10:00am, and we were finished by 3:30/4:00pm. They worked so quickly and can perfectly match ANY picture of a hairstyle you bring them! The makeup looked fabulous and great in pictures, and our hair stayed all night! (even the next morning!) I have no complaints about Bleu, and even their pricing is average for on-site services (it is $10 cheaper if you go to their salon in Old Metairie). Highly recommend this company for your day-of beauty needs!

From the very beginning, starting with my trial through the wedding day, Bleu was the very, very best!! I initially had hired someone else but just wasn't happy after the trial. That's where Emily and Bleu stepped in! They were absolutely amazing. The girls listened to my requests, looked through pictures with me and offered helpful suggestions during my trial. This helped me to be even more comfortable on my wedding day. The stylist arrived on time and were set up and ready to go when we arrived to the suite. They were calm and helpful, working along side each of my bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride and groom to make us look our best. My hair and makeup were perfect. Absolutely perfect. I received so many compliments throughout the night. I was initially concerned that my hair (worn down) might fall flat but it remained curled and amazing after pictures outside, the Horah, and hours of dancing. My makeup stayed in place through tears, hugs, pictures and dinner. If you have the opportunity to hire Emily and her team at Bleu, do it. You will be so pleased!!
