Embodied within each piece of jewelry are the people whose hands it passed through to be made. Bliss believes that the role of designer and creator also means being a permanent student and global citizen. Through our design evolution, we’ve realized that each stage of the making process is an opportunity to support our community of artisans and members of our supply chain and promote environmental responsibility and circularity.
Bliss Lau’s visionary approach to jewelry design is intrinsically rooted in the concept of jewelry as a physical experience; her designs are inspired by sensuality and the structure of the body. Throughout the evolution of her work, Bliss’s designs have elegantly juxtaposed contrasting relationships between bold and delicate, bound and free, organic and linear, embracing their interplay to create jewelry that is simultaneously graceful and dynamic.

With a loose diamond that my husband already had my husband and I decided to create a new ring to celebrate our many years together as well as a special birthday I had coming up. Together with Bliss we came up with a ring that I absolutely love. It took a little bit longer than anticipated but Bliss kept me up to date with the progress and come my birthday I received the special ring. Seeing it it blew me away and I'm so happy I trusted Bliss to help me create my one of a kind ring. I couldn't be happier and it gives me joy everyday wearing it.

dio to get correct sizing, try on and select a ring. The associates helping seemed a little apathetic/condescending which was a shame bc we were both super excited. We selected a ring and size and were seemingly good to go. Fast forward to my husband proposing - the ring was 2 sizes too small. I was really confused and thought maybe I had put on weight or experienced some bodily change. Upon doing some research, I found the notes from our visit and confirmed sizing was off. There was no resolution, they offered to size it up a half size, I believe, for a few hundred dollars. We declined and had a local jeweler take care of it but overall, it wasn’t a great experience.

work with designers we admire. It was important for us to find ways of making the experience unique, outside of the traditional, plentiful, typical resources for weddings.
Bliss’s incredible talent and skill, her deep passion for meaning and inspiration in her work, her interest heirloom stones, coupled with a shared joy in the moment in our lives, was a perfect catalyst for the gorgeous piece that would result.
I was involved in the process initially via one in-person meeting, so that she could meet me, and get a feel for preferences and personality. From there, she worked solely with my now husband, as I wanted to trust the process, have it come from them, and be a surprise.
She was highly collaborative, patient and incredibly caring and understanding about the weight of the decisions they were making. She shared beautiful sketches/concepts with him to choose from, turned the sketches into reality via CAD renderings and innovative design practices, all with a great deal of intellect and meticulousness.
The ring is absolutely perfect. It is (like Bliss’s approach) rooted in tradition, but incredibly modern. It is both my engagement and wedding band, and it is so exciting to wear it every day. Two gorgeous, delicate, timeless pieces physically connected (that can also be separated), with the heirloom stone at the center.
Bliss was incredibly supportive and available for questions after I received it, and it was really enjoyable to be in touch with her, get to know her, and learn more about her process.

and is a very unique person, unlike anyone I've known before, and I desired a very special, interesting, beautiful piece of jewelry that I would be proud to see him wearing! A tungsten band was not going to cut it!
I ended up on Instagram and came across Bliss and her page and she had serendipitously just posted a photo of a men's band she had done and I loved it! I contacted Bliss shortly after, inquiring about having her make and design the ring for my husband. Within a couple days we were emailing, talking on the phone, skyping! Right from the start it was a total pleasure working with Bliss. It was a true collaboration of thought, style, design, art, and love.
Working with Bliss was therapeutic and easy. She asked lots of questions about my husband and I; really wanting to get to know us and our style. She provided me with several sketches over the weeks and every one of them was beautiful, well thought out, interesting, perfect. What took me the longest was deciding which ring I wanted my husband to wear forever!
One of my favorite things is that Bliss titles each sketch based off the words and ideas we provided and talked about. I ultimately chose the ring that I felt represented us as a couple the best. It is aptly titled "Togetherness. A central moment of balanced energy."
On our wedding day I surprised my husband with the ring during our ceremony. When I was able to tell him about designing the ring and what it meant and why I had asked him to write answers to random questions, he understood how special the ring was, and still comments to me how much he loves the ring and the symbolism of the design.
I would recommend to anyone wanting a custom piece of jewelry to work with Bliss Lau. Her thoughtfulness and attention to you as not just a customer, but a thinking, feeling, seeing, human being is refreshing and wonderful! My only regret is that she is in New York and I am in California so we were not able to actual meet in person.
I can't wait to design future pieces with her, as in, my own special creation that I get to wear!! :)

Each time I glance at it I think about how lucky I am because the thought and care that went into creating it makes it one of the dearest things I own. When I got engaged, it was without a ring. My fiancé couldn’t find the perfect ring after searching for 6 months, so i got to be part of the process. Once we told our families, they both offered us our grandmothers rings, so we decided to really unite our families by getting a ring designed with both pieces. My coworker who is a friend of Bliss immediately referred me to her. Bliss made the process so smooth and really took the time to get to know us and somehow took two different rings and made them feel like they were made to be together. I can’t see how people can go to the diamond district and pick out something that is forever…every girl should have something uniquely her own and that is exactly what Bliss can offer. She makes you feel so comfortable in her expertise and can walk you through millions of variations but harness you into that one perfect design you can’t live without. On top of that, one of her specialties is that she can do rings that slide in and out of settings. I can pick which ring I want to wear, or both depending on my day. I don’t even think of it as an accessory but an extension of me. So personal, such style. My ring is perfect; its as amazing as it is possible to be. All you have to do is meet her once, and you know that she is the person who will make the experience and outcome lovely (just like her!).
