, owner of Bloom, Modern Beauty, was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional vendor interactions we’ve had during our entire wedding planning process. We booked a hair and makeup trial with Brianna four months in advance, and we weren’t just bringing her one client—we were bringing her the business of 11 people for wedding hair and makeup. We live out of town, so we scheduled and paid for flights, hotel, rental car, and took time off work specifically for this appointment. Because she wasn’t available on weekends, we had to take a full Friday off just to make it work. Ten days before the trial, Brianna canceled, claiming she had double-booked herself. We were disappointed but gave her a chance to fix it. She told us a member of her “vital team” could cover the trial instead. So we kept our original plans, made the best of it, and tried to trust the process. Then, just as we were walking into the airport, we received a mass email cancellation from Brianna, calling off everyone’s appointments, including ours. The message was cold and impersonal. She knew we were traveling in from out of town and said nothing until the very last minute. We followed up multiple times asking how she planned to make it right. Several days later, she finally replied with two “solutions”—both unacceptable: • A Zoom call using a mannequin, which is in no way equivalent to an in-person hair and makeup trial for a bride preparing for her wedding • Or that we should simply fly out again, taking more time off work, and covering another round of hotel, flights, and rental car—as if that were a minor inconvenience We responded with two very reasonable and professional offers: 1. She could fly someone to us—we’d pay for the trial 2. We’d fly back out, and she could deduct the cost of travel/hotel from the final invoice—we’d still pay for the trial itself She ignored both offers. Completely. We followed up again. No response. After being left on read and ghosted for over a week, we sent a formal message terminating the agreement due to her lack of professionalism and communication. Only then did she respond—within hours—with a rude, unapologetic email informing us she would not be refunding our deposit. This is despite the fact that she never provided any service at all—not a brushstroke, not a minute of consultation, nothing. To summarize: • We booked a trial 4 months out • We planned and paid for a full trip around it • We were bringing her 11 clients for the wedding • She canceled twice—once ten days out, once hours before our flight • She offered no genuine solution • She ghosted us • She kept our money anyway Unprofessional. Unapologetic. Unreliable. Planning a wedding is already stressful—vendors like Brianna make it worse. Do not book Bloom, Modern Beauty. Brides deserve better
