After the trial I gave Sophie feedback on how the makeup lasted/I felt and we discussed possible changes. Day of, she checked in, and I felt gorgeous! Sophie is extremely talented - whether you are looking for a natural soft glam like me or a full glam she is your girl. I had a great time working with Sophie and Blooming Beauty and would recommend her to any bride!

have felt overlooked by other hair and makeup artists so being the bride this time, I wanted to make sure that even though it was my wedding day, that everyone felt their best in their hair and makeup. I appreciated so much that Sophie and her team were so attentive to everyone while still making me feel extra bridal pampered. She was so easy to talk to during my trial and really listened to the notes that I had for my wedding day look. I was looking so good coming out of that trial that I even had someone hit on me by having a drive-thru attendant give me their number on a receipt! If that doesn’t prove that Sophie is gonna make you look amazing, then I don’t know what will! I also did the hair extension rental and it made such a huge difference with my wedding day hair. The extension were clean and the return process was easy. She always responded in a timely manner to any questions I had and sent emails throughout the wedding planning year of things I could do to help prep for my wedding day which was so appreciated. Could not recommend Blooming Beauty Company enough!

Most of my bridal party, including myself, aren’t full glam kind of girls and Ali came through with the natural glam using all quality products that didn’t feel heavy on - and lasted the entire night!!!! And my bridal hair, done by JC, was perfectly elegant and fun and the curls lasted with no problem!!! They made me feel so gorgeous on my special day! From the trial to the big day - it was perfect! Sophie’s communication was superb, and she was always available if I needed anything throughout the process to make sure everything ran smoothly! such a big help. I have never looked or felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day, and she captured exactly the look I was hoping for. She also worked on my mom and sister's hair and makeup and they loved everything, too. If you're on the fence about hiring hair and makeup, just book it, and book it with Sophie. I almost didn't book any because I wanted to save money, but a good friend convinced me otherwise, and I have NO regrets. I felt pampered, I had a couple hours to sit and relax while my hair and makeup was done rather than rushing to do it on my own, the makeup stayed through a couple short happy crying sessions, and the updo stayed perfectly in tact even after the reception and 2 hrs of dancing. 11/10 totally recommend!

nd her Instagram posts would suggest that she's quite skilled. Unfortunately, I first began to run into issues with Sophie starting at the trial. Trial: When we first spoke, Sophie emphasized that she had worked with many East Asian clients in the past. I was personally looking for a make up style that would appear more delicate and accentuate my Asian features. However, during the trial run my makeup was applied very heavily and was clearly meant for a more European face structure. It wasn't as refined or elegant as I had hoped (and this was after I had asked Sophie to tone things down halfway through the trial). Falsies, lipliner, blush, contouring, etc. were all heavily applied, which personally just didn’t suit me well. I attributed this to not discussing my desires with Sophie in enough detail prior to the trial. After my trial run, I forwarded her several more photos of examples of the makeup that I wanted and she assured me that this would not be an issue on the day of. I was happy with how my hair looked at the trial. Day of: Sophie was on time for the day of my wedding. My makeup was significantly improved from my trial but there were several areas where I felt I needed to provide instruction. For example, I had to ask her to use smaller individual false lashes that I purchased myself. It didn't seem like Sophie had much experience placing these on and so there was a lot of visible eyelash glue. When I asked Sophie to cover this up with eyeliner, she said “I can’t do that” and since I didn’t want to cause any tension, I later had my maid of honor do it for me in a different room. Surprisingly, hair is when things started to fall apart. Sophie did my updo with a middle part and lots of volume on the sides. This was not how it was done during the trial and it gave my head a heart-like appearance. This wouldn't have been a big issue if she had been gracious enough to redo it when this was pointed out, or if she had checked in with me during the process to confirm these details. Sophie did not respond to the criticism well and proceeded to blame me for this appearance because “this is how you dried your hair the night before.” She tugged on my hair to try and change my part, leaving my hair looking very lumpy and frizzy. I expressed that I was not happy with this and she said “this is the best I can do because you’re changing too many things on the day of” even though I requested the same hair from the trial. She only agreed to redo this after several requests from myself and my bridal party. From this point on, she appeared increasingly frustrated despite the fact that we were well ahead of schedule. I felt more and more uncomfortable as she yanked out bobby-pins and said “you should have paid for another trial if you were going to be this picky.” The morning of your wedding day is stressful for any bride, and I was no exception. Sophie's poor mood and tone made this a particularly unpleasant experience for me. After she was done with my hair, I quickly had to excuse myself to another room where I cried off most of my make-up. Thankfully, my sister and bridesmaids were able to redo my makeup before we left for the venue. I unfortunately cannot recommend her to other brides moving forward, especially for those who have Asian or non-White features.

on the day of. Even with how efficient they were, it never felt rushed and allowed each person to have touch ups right before we started getting ready for pictures. The makeup was absolutely stunning—natural, yet so beautifully done. It made both myself and my bridesmaids feel our very best and truly confident throughout the day. If you’re looking for a team that’s professional, talented, and knows how to enhance your natural beauty, I can’t recommend them enough. Y what you want. If it's not at first, Sophie works incredibly hard to make sure it's everything you wanted and more. You can be as specific or not, and she makes your look amazing. Leading up to the wedding her communication was fantastic, the trial was both productive and fun, and she quickly answered and dealt with any questions/changes I had. Day of, Sophie and her team were great. Her team was efficient to a T. We were actually done a little early with time for any little fixes. Everyone was so professional. Sophie is so easy to talk to and you can tell she takes the utmost pride in her work. I don't have enough positive words to say about her, and I would highly, highly recommend her services for your day. If you want a stress free morning and guaranteed GORGEOUS look, you need to get Blooming Beauty for your wedding. You will regret absolutely nothing. :)

and beyond. On wedding day, everybody loved her. Even my mother who despises make up absolutely love the outcome that Sophie did on her. Everybody looked beautiful make up stayed all night, Even through all the happy tears. Overall, Blooming Beauty Co. exceeded my expectations and I if I were to do it all over again I would book with sophie just as fast.

They made sure that I was still able to receive all of my services even with the last minute changes. Sophie and her team are extremely kind and their work is amazing. I felt so beautiful and still so much like me! The biggest thing that hit it out of the park for me was she STAYED on my wedding day and helped me secure my veil into place after I got my wedding dress on! It really felt like I had an extra friend there with me! I could keep going on and on but I could truly not recommend Blooming Beauty enough for future brides! Ps. The way my makeup didn’t even think of budging when I was crying! Amazing!

She sends tons of tips and tricks for prep as you get closer to your day and also recommends products to use. She is very responsive to any questions you have throughout the process. I was nervous in general because I usually don’t do very much with my makeup so was really up in the air as to how I wanted to look on my wedding day. My trial was very laid back, Miranda and Sophie were open to playing around and experimenting to see what I wanted, always noting we can make tweaks on the day if I felt a certain way about something once wearing the hair and makeup throughout the day. On the wedding day itself, Sophie was on hair and Miranda was on makeup and they did a great job keeping to the time schedule. They are both very personable and were fun to have around and did a great job with understanding what each person was looking to do style wise. Everyone was very happy with how things turned out and I was personally very happy with my overall look. Wearability was good (through all my tears) and they gave us all the puffs to use throughout the day and I had a little extra of my lip color. I would definitely recommend using Blooming Beauty!

The makeup was beautiful and natural looking. When we were discussing my hairstyle, she worked with me and gave advice on how best to structure it for what I wanted. Sophie did both my hair and makeup on the wedding day. I also received a touch up kit with my bridal package. I had four bridal party women get hair and makeup, and two received only hair services. Karla did their hair and Sophie did the women who wanted makeup. Both Karla and Sophie did a wonderful job on achieving everyone's desired look. Sophie recently moved her studio to the Galleria area and the new location is great! There was great lighting, some snacks and drinks were available for clients, and Sophie had a speaker playing music for us while each bridal party member waited to be called. I highly recommend using Blooming Beauty Company! Sophie is professional and knowledgeable and it shows in her company. With her services, you do not become someone else for your wedding day, rather, you become a more beautiful version of yourself. For someone who doesn't usually wear makeup, I was grateful that I could still see myself looking back at me in the mirror. I still look at the wedding preview photos from two weeks ago and think "dang, I look hot!".
