Becky is absolutely phenomenal. She was by far the best person I had the pleasure of working with throughout my entire wedding planning experience. I'm not even sure I can leave her a review that does her justice. From the very beginning, she took me under her wing and treated me more like a daughter than a client. I contacted her just a few months before my wedding based on her reviews after talking to many other florists who had been recommended to me. My only regret was that I didn't find her sooner! Unlike many other vendors, she was always kind and patient with me, and sounded genuinely excited to talk to me whenever I called. She also was willing to accommodate my hectic schedule and made herself available whenever I needed her, even outside of business hours or while she was on vacation. For someone working a busy job in DC and planning a multi-cultural wedding from a distance, that made a world of difference. Even though I initially hired her as a florist, Becky went way above and beyond that role and gave me tons of helpful tips and advice from her experience as a wedding planner. She even listened to issues I was having with other aspects of my wedding and took time to help talk me through them and figure out solutions because she truly cared about making my wedding as perfect as possible. She also helped me find some other fantastic vendors who were super affordable. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. On my wedding day, she was extremely professional and made sure every little detail was taken care of. And I can't even describe how breathtaking the flowers were. All of my guests were in complete awe, and all of the engaged women there asked me to give them Becky's number afterwards. She did such a wonderful job of taking my vision and making it even better with some of her creative suggestions. I was so happy with the way everything turned out, and I'm not easy to please! Becky is so many classes above the rest. She's a true artist who genuinely cares about her clients and treats them like family. On top of that, she's also very affordable! She delivered much better quality flowers and service than I could have gotten anywhere else, for less than what all of the other florists I contacted quoted me. I don't know how she does it, but I'm so glad I chose her and would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone.

Becky Shehan with A Very Special Wedding was not only my florist; but was my wedding coordinator as well. I was an out of town Bride and Becky was very accommodating when I arrived in town. She is very punctual and professional. She came with me to all of my venue meetings and asked questions that I didn't know to ask. The bouquets and center pieces came out better than I imagined. My arrangements had big lush blooms and smelled so good. My guests kept raving about how the decor was the best they've seen at a wedding. Our reception started a little late but Becky was able to keep us on track regarding cake cutting and the send off. I highly recommend Becky!

I have dreaded writing a review because I hate being negative, however my husband and I had a very poor experience with this company so it only felt right we warn others. We used their service for both planning and floral arrangements. I tried very hard to compromise, however I constantly felt like Becky was up-selling us. Her marketing technique felt very doom and gloom to me- stressing how much I needed things because otherwise my wedding would be a disaster. From day one there were a constant struggle between our wishes for the wedding and what she felt was best: flowers, schedule, decor etc. Anything that I suggested that was not traditional, was met with criticism. Examples: types of flowers (she said were too difficult to work with), time I wanted wedding to start ( too early) and the list goes on. She also went into great detail on what my schedule looked like the morning of the wedding. Which may be helpful, however it just served to frustrate me as she became judgement about what time I'd be eating breakfast, how many makeup artists I had etc. Literally, every decision was a battle. Through the whole process I kept trying to convince myself that she was alright, b/c she had already been paid for, but now that I compare her to my other vendors (who were wonderful) she was severely lacking and extremely unprofessional. Here is a list from the day of the wedding: They were OVER an hour and a half late to my first look (barely any of our photos have the boutonnieres or bouquets in them because of this). No apologies either. Their team also did not help with clean up as promised, so some of my decorative items were lost forever. My mother and her friends ended up doing a lot of it too. Set up of decor was agreed upon in the contract as well. But barely anything was done besides the flowers for set up. As such, my husband ended up having to rush off and resolve the issues. Very stressful for him. For the ceremony she was half an hour late so guests waited. Bridal party was also floundering around wondering where she was. Not to mention she did not show up for our rehearsal. She said she would "try" but there was no phone call or text when she was unable to make it. Very unprofessional. The only "pro" in this situation was that the flowers were lovely. And this is the ONLY reason I am give two instead of one star. However, having experienced all of this I would have gladly gone with another service and saved myself the heartache.

OMG! Little did I know how bad I needed a planner! Becky with A Very Special Wedding is phenomenal! My friend had found her for me 5 weeks before my wedding to provide flowers. When I met with her, during the conversation, it became very clear that I really did need a wedding planner. She not only was able to offer incredible flowers, but she handled EVERTHING!! In addition, she had awesome references for a Minister, a String Quertet, a Viedographer and SOOO much more! She was our Wedding Savior!!! I was able to relax and actually enjoy every moment of my wedding because Becky had it ALL handled! A Very Special Wedding was great to work with. Becky was very flexible and willing to work with our budget and our venue to make our woodsy, fairytale wedding come alive. All the flowers looked gorgeous and we were accepting compliments all night. I would highly recommend A Very Special Wedding to any bride.

We hired Becky at A Very Special Wedding for her month-of wedding coordinator package, but got so much more than that. In the months leading up to our wedding, Becky was always available by email to answer questions and provide vendor recommendations as we navigated the planning process. We also found two of our vendors--DJ and videography--through Becky. We were planning our Atlanta wedding remotely from Washington, DC and when we were in town, she always made time to connect. The month-of package was not only important to us but 100% necessary. We were planning our wedding to take place at our family's home, essentially building our venue from scratch. Becky managed all of our vendors beautifully, her Floral & Décor was the best, and she worked well with everyone; not only was she managing vendors, but also supporting family members that were providing support during the day was well. One of the biggest reasons we hired Becky was because I can be extremely anxious, and I didn't want to have to worry on our wedding day--and we didn't. If anything went wrong, we didn't know about it. We had zero stress on our big day, and it turned out absolutely perfect. Becky and her assistant Edna were integral to making sure our vision was realized on our wedding day, and I would absolutely recommend A Very Special Wedding - Floral & Décor to all brides.

Lengthy Review: Becky is awesome to work with and she truely loves what she is doing. She is flexible and made my dreams come true with my wedding flowers. Background on me: I was 28, first time bride, planning a wedding in GA but I live in Baltimore and only returned to GA once prior to the wedding. I knew very little about flowers and kind of indecisive. Only thing I was definite about was I didn't want skimpy looking flowers. I wanted LUSH!!! Becky: Warm Friendly Bubbly Lady who will get really excited about your flowers. She is very knowledgeable. Pinterest was my inspiration. I created a board and shared it with Becky and from there she could see the styles I liked and the theme of my wedding. From that she could better explain to me the cost and ways to accommodate my budget and still have the lush look. Flowers: I had a gorgeous bouquet and my bridesmaid bouquets where beautiful too. I had Peonies, Peonies and more Peonies. Prior to my wedding I didn't even know what a Peonie was, but Peonies, Lilies, Trichilium, Roses, Hydrangeas all arranged together makes for one beautiful bouquet and that's really all that mattered to me. The bouquets where a great size and large enough to be used as a centerpiece during my reception. My wow factor was my floral runner. It was an amazing 20 foot floral runner that stretched the length of my bridal table and cascaded off the side of the table to the floor. I fell in love with a floral runner style on pinterest. If I had to plan a wedding all over again, I would not only use Becky as my florist but also as my day of coordinator. Many places have "day of coordinators" included in their package but Becky would be so helpful have in your corner helping you out and making sure your day goes a planned.

I am beyond happy with my choice to use Becky for our wedding back in March. She was so attentive to my needs and budget and worked with me to create absolutely stunning bridal party flowers! She listened to what I wanted but also helped me navigate through what was actually available in season and how she could use other flowers that were available to get me my desired look. I usually plan events-mostly African weddings but this time, the wedding (my Sister's) was being held out of the DMV area. My Sister (the Bride) went to ATL and ,met up with Becky. First impressions, fantastic lady! That was her, for me it would require concrete experience! Boy, did she deliver! All of us came from out of town, but Becky made it an absolutely awesome experience! From the daily communication to the service delivery on the wedding day, flawless! African weddings are filled with details and extra cultural stuff, not to mention the humongous wedding party/family, so things can easily get out of hand. Becky was on top of it all the while ensuring everything ran according to the program. The best part is how she blended right in....by the time we were done, she was regarded as one of the family members! She is, no doubt, the best! I have done over 30 weddings, some of which I was the Head Planner, but I honestly have never seen someone so efficient! The pretty stuff is for everyone to observe, I tend to focus on the overall experience, minding every detail! She was on top of it all! Working with Becky was a great experience. We were planning an outdoor event with 200+ guests. Becky proved to be a true professional handling all of the most important details from timing to deliveries. I don't know much about flowers, but I can tell you that Becky S. knows exactly what she's doing and she does it with love! I was referred to A Very Special Wedding by some friends who previously used this vendor, and I am so happy I did. The owner, Becky, saw my vision (even when I couldn't) and made it all come together. She is extremely conscious of each bride's budget and goes above and beyond to do exactly what she can to give you the look you desire.
