The Blue Ball Barn is located at 1914 West Park Drive, Wilmington, DE. This two-story stone barn connects Delaware's past and present with a collection of unique cultural artifacts housed in a contemporary multifunctional space. Nestled in a scenic state park in northern Delaware, yet convenient to major roads and highways, the center's galleries feature the Delaware Folk Art Collection and offer spacious reception and meeting rooms, including a large open banquet room and a secluded courtyard for picturesque outdoor accommodations. Both floors and the outdoor Courtyard are handicapped accessible. We can accommodate a variety of event sizes with a total building capacity of 250. Rentals are based on event size and event length, with indoor furniture included in the event cost. Events may be held any day of the week or year between 9 am and 11 pm. A list of preferred event vendors for outdoor Courtyard tents and furniture will be provided, and due to the historic nature of the building a reputable full-service caterer must be selected. While food trucks are allowed, self-catering is not. Alcohol is allowed but must be served by a licensed bartender. As in all Delaware State Parks, balloons and confetti are not allowed. Our administrative team will be happy to help you with any questions or planning needs, including holding an event planning meeting with you, your caterer, and any other vendors to work through timing and a floor plan. A facility monitor will be available during your event to ensure the safety and comfort of you and your guests. If you are seeking a wedding venue, a one-hour rehearsal is included in the event rental.

We loved our reception at Blue Ball Barn! It was perfect for our wedding of 80 guests. We were able to rent out the courtyard, the bottom level and the upstairs section at a very reasonable price. Our event coordinator, Kristina, was very quick to respond to my many questions throughout the months and weeks leading up to the event. Our day-of volunteer, Florence, was also pleasant and willing to help out in any way she could. Blue Ball Barn requests meeting with the couple and caterer a week or so before the wedding to make sure everything in your vision is represented perfectly. Our only complaint was not having access to an AC unit during the reception, so it got a little toasty. BBB has a diverse list of vendors to choose from, and are truly willing to accommodate you in any way you need!

Originally, we were slated to be in the Cauffiel Barn, but our venue had to be changed to this due to some issues. The Delaware State Parks were very accommodating and allowed us to keep all of the amenities and vendors that we'd had at the other barn at Blue Ball. It is a gorgeous, updated dairy barn with folk art exhibits all through out. Originally, we were concerned that it wouldn't work with our theme and there was nothing to be done because all of the exhibits stay, but it really worked in our favor because it gave our guests things to look at and talk about during the cocktail hour. But I repeat that they never take down the exhibits. So, if you can't decorate around it, then you should probably go with something else. The tables and chairs were included in the rental. That was nice and convenient. All in all, it was a great venue and we had a wonderful experience with them. I would recommend it to friends and family.
