Jess was incredible! We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos. When we received the slideshow it made me cry it was so perfect and beautiful. She was so kind and easy going and so helpful! Neither of us are comfortable being photographed and she really helped put us at ease and after a few moments we completely forgot about it and the images turned out so natural and amazing. We are so grateful for Jess and highly recommend her!

Jess was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. She even offered to come and see the venue prior to the event. She was always easy to get a hold of and she captured every moment of our wedding. She captured all of these moments without being obtrusive and stayed in the background. She especially got fantastic stills from our first dance. Our entire wedding party loved her portraits too!

Jess is fabulous and was able to meet all of our needs for our special day. I cannot think of anything she could have done better and our photos are FANTASTIC, even for being a curvy girl ;).

Jess made the whole photo process extremely easy. She met with my fiancée and I a few months in advance to get a feel for what vibe we were going for in our wedding and then even attended one of the venue walkthroughs so she could plan where the best place was for photos. On the day, she was extremely professional and helped wrangle both Nic and I plus our extended families for multiple group shots. We had originally planned for group shots to be inside given the nature of our venue (rooftop with possible BRIGHT light) but she was able to pivot quickly due to the incredible cloudy sky we ended up with. The end results are stunning. As a bride, I was a bit stressed about the photos because they're what would be presented to the world but Jess was calm, guiding, and helped me relax into some of the best photos I've ever had taken of me. She made sure each moment was captured and had some of the best candid shots of our guests. I cannot recommend her enough. ESPECIALLY if you have pets involved in your wedding! She captured our muppet of a dog perfectly. She was able to get his personality to shine as much as ours. Finally, she got our photos back in record time and they were beautiful. The gallery she provides is easy to navigate and she gives plenty of options for each shot so you still have the ability to choose your favorite. Massive thumbs up from me, Nic, and our dog Buddy.

Jess was so fun and easy to work with. She made the couples comfortable and was very fun, professional and very thoughtful when working along side me for a wedding. I look forward to working with her again soon.

Jess was absolutely incredible to work with, I cannot recommend Blue Buttercup Photography enough. She is truly gifted in her art and a complete professional. I have always dreaded having my picture taken, I've always felt completely unphotogenic and the thought of having wedding photos taken brought me huge amounts of anxiety. But Jess was completely in sync with my husband and I from the beginning. Our engagement session was so much fun. She is such a friendly and easy going person and made me feel completely comfortable. When we got those photos back, I couldn't wait to see how the wedding pics would turn out. Not only were our portraits just stunning, but she captured so many beautiful moments throughout the day, from the bridal party prep, to the ceremony, and of our guests at the reception, moments of pure love and joy that can't be staged. It's an added bonus that her pricing is so reasonable and she finished our photos and got them back to us much faster than promised. Plus, she made us a gorgeous slideshow that still makes me cry even though I've watched it about 35 times. I'm so grateful to have found her. Go with Jess, you will be glad you did.

Jess is amazing!! We have worked with Jess multiple times throughout the years with her pet photography and let me tell you she all ways get the best images that are totally unplanned. Jess was a delight to work with from the start. When my husband and I initially met with her, neither one of us knew exactly what we were wanting from a wedding photographer, except for beautiful pictures. She set our nerves at ease with questions and advice that allowed us to really narrow down and focus on specific details of our big day that we wished to have captured. My husband and I left the meeting encouraged and excited to work with Jess. She followed up with a questionnaire that further solidified our desires for the day, and was available with any questions we had. On the day of the wedding, Jess showed up early and got right to work. She documented my bridesmaids, flower girl, and myself getting ready for the wedding. She did an incredible job of capturing the love and support of the women who surrounded me on that day. She then went to the wedding venue and found time to photograph the grounds before the guests arrived, and the photos she took captured the romantic, vintage garden feel that I had dreamt my wedding to be. She then came into the bridal suite where we were getting dressed, adding the finishing touches to our lipstick, and helping each other with clasping our jewelry. These candid photos turned out priceless and I will cherish them forever. Jess managed to capture every special moment over the 5 hours of the wedding and reception. She was patient and provided instruction when it came to the group photos, especially with my large extended family. She has a great eye for beautiful settings and took my husband and I out into a field full of golden, waist-deep grass. There she took the most incredible photos of our love for each other and managed to capture the pure joy that was radiating from us. I highly recommend Jess, and will recommend her to anyone I know who is planning a wedding. Her pricing is reasonable and she is quick to edit and provide you with your photos. You're also able to order photos directly from the website Jess gives you to view your photos. This is a feature that my out-of-town relatives really appreciated. Overall, I am so thankful that we chose Jess to be our wedding photographer. She is wonderful!

Just wow. Jess took the most amazing photos at my wedding and the turn around was incredibly fast! The picture quality is phenomenal and all the best moments were definitely captured. Jess is super sweet, friendly, and talented!

Words can’t explain the pure magic and beauty of our special day that Jess was able to capture using her lens. She was a delight to work with, asking questions about things I never even thought to consider and being attentive to what really mattered to us. She caught the moment that my new husband saw me in my dress for the first time coming down the aisle and that moment those three pictures are worth a million words to my heart and soul. She also understood that I had a bit of a different request for our big day- some photos of me with my dog. You see my dog has a terminal diagnosis and I desperately wanted some photos of him and I. Jess just recently took our wedding photos on March 23rd 2019. She was great to work with, she had great instincts for beautiful shots, but also let me have a voice in what i preferred. Jess is lovely! We expected to wait a few weeks for our photos and got them back in 8 days, and let me just say the photos are stunning! We’re in love with all of the shots! Jess is timely, professional, and amazing! We are so lucky to have found her and will be referring her to all of our friends!

I don't know what I would have done without Jess as my photographer. Not only did she provide us with tons of amazing photos of our event, but she also came to my rescue last minute when the zipper on my dress broke. It was 20 mins before I was to go out and no one knew what to do. Jess set down the camera, grabbed the needle, thread and scissors and fixed my dress for me!! I would not have been able to go out without what she did!! Incredible! Everyone was blown away and the show went on without a hitch!! I cannot give this girl enough stars, but 5 is simply too few. The photos are stunning and she even caught me with infinite mirrors the very moment my sister broke the zipper off my dress and the face I was making... priceless moment! We had our wedding TWO weeks ago and have already received our photos!!! Jess with Blue Buttercup did an absolutely incredible job capturing our wedding day! We're sneaking off to Bend for a little weekend getaway.........so I think this will be a good time for us to look at the photos and re-live the fun night we had. I love so many of the photos ......it's hard to say which one is my favorite. My only disappointment was that I didn't have you stay longer and take more photos of the rest of the evening. I shouldn't have been so worried about the money and just sucked it up and paid you more to stay longer. It would have been nice to see what else you would have captured. Jess is a photo machine of goodness and creativity!! She didn't stop photographing from the moment she arrived until the very end and then some! She showed up early on the day of, answered all of my questions up to and throughout the day and made me and my husband feel so comfortable and confident in her abilities that we were able to just relax and allow the moments to happen! My pictures came out GORGEOUS! Jess really did an excellent job. I've scrolled thru them about a hundred times now and each time get so overwhelmed with all the little moments she captured and the beautiful story of my day that I never would have seen without her creative eye. To whom it may concern: Jess Kristen is the photographer that I selected for my special day. I was once looking and wasn't sure because there are a lot of sites to look at on photojournalist website with details to services, prices, etc. I contacted several and they gave me prices but I knew from the start Jess was different. She was so patient, courteous, and I had a gut feeling that she would take care of me on my special day. She gave me so many facts, and answers to silly and all questions that I had. She understood that I was paying for my wedding and worked well with my budget and didn't try to talk me into more than I could afford. I was attending a wedding in Southern California and this is where I met Jess Kristen. She was the photographer. She had this kindness about her and so I spoke with her a bit. I learned that she has a degree in cinematography from UCLA and is a brilliant artist!!
