We had Blue Daphne as our Month of Coordinator for our wedding at the Berkeley City Club this past June. We booked them over a year in advance and were super excited to work with them since they were super communicative and responsive in all of our e-mails and calls leading up to us booking. We were also excited because Blue Daphne also offers wedding flowers, so we figured it would be great to work with the same person for both to keep things easy and one less vendor to have to find.
Once we booked with Blue Daphne, all of that changed. Part of the package we selected was that even though we were only "month of" the team at Blue Daphne would still be available for any questions we had throughout the year + till our wedding and would also do an initial consultation to help us get the ball rolling on planning. We waited a few months and still hadn't heard anything about getting our consultation going, so I decided to reach out to follow up. It took 4 weeks and 5 e-mails to get a 2 sentence response, which they never followed up on and then radio silence from them for 2 months. As a vendor who is coordinating your wedding and their job is all about communicating with vendors and being organized, this was unacceptable to me.
We finally got on the phone with them after sending another few e-mails and expressed our concerns. They apologized and got us set up with a new coordinator that they were bringing on to the team - Kirin.
Kirin ended up being an amazing coordinator and once we were connected with her everything fell into place. She helped answer all our questions, worked with all of vendors, and made sure that our wedding day went as smoothly as possible for us and that we didn't have to think about anything that day and just got to enjoy it. We're so glad Kirin stepped in to change our experience working with Blue Daphne.
Yes! I recently eloped in Big Sur and couldn’t be happier with the team at Blue Daphne and the work they did to make my wedding day perfect. From the very 1st inquiry, the service and coordination was fabulous, easy and fun. Even though we were eloping, I had wanted to do something special and Kirin and Jennifer planned and created a perfectly styled and beautiful day. They handled every detail and coordinated with the venue perfectly- They even created a beautiful flower Teepee in the middle of the redwoods!
On top of everything else, they were extremely kind and comfortable to be around and shared in our excitement throughout the day. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend them!
Jenna was such a pleasure to work with! I felt pretty calm with organizing my own wedding vendors (I actually enjoyed he process), but I was nervous in the month leading up to our wedding. Cue: Jenna! She reached out to all of my vendors, set up meeting times to chat, and ensured that everyone was on the same page. She was punctual to our rehearsal and worked well with the priest, who was very particular about the mass. Jenna let me call her the night before my wedding to clear up any deviations with the reception set up, which allowed me to sleep peacefully. I had no idea if there were any hiccups on the day of because everything exceeded my expectations! Most of all- my family had a great time, and our wedding was a day that my husband and I will never forget. We can’t thank you enough, Jenna!
Blue Daphne Events was amazing!! Jennifer was so helpful and nice to work with the day of our wedding! I would highly recommend using them for your special event!
Blue Daphne was our worst wedding vendor, and hiring Jennifer & her team was our biggest regret. I followed up with the owner, Jennifer, about 2 weeks ago regarding all of the disappointments we had discovered during our wedding last month & it took these online reviews for her to respond. NOT ONE apology was made & she is only concerned about her reputation as she asked for me to remove my reviews. Her LACK of professionalism, communication, organization & time management skills during our entire planning process as well as the wedding day were completely not worth what we paid her. Apparently, we had to learn the hard way that you will only get her undivided attention if you book her largest package.
My review is based on "month-of and day-of coordination." We needed a reliable coordinator since our wedding was expected to have 200 guests. We booked her about 9 months in advance & paid her nonrefundable deposit, which is a substantial amount. About 6 WEEKS BEFORE our wedding, she then tells us that one of her other clients booked her largest wedding package for the day after our wedding, making us feel inferior & less of a priority to her. She proceeds to tell us that she will not be present during most of our reception - she would coordinate our wedding ceremony, transition our guests to the reception, LEAVE & have 2 of her assistants carry out the rest of our timeline for the night so she could prepare for the next day's wedding. We told her MULTIPLE TIMES we were not comfortable with her leaving in the middle of our wedding because we hired HER to be our DAY OF coordinator - NOT HALF DAY coordinator. We decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and keep her after she attempted to reassure us. Honestly, we felt trapped because we already paid the nonrefundable deposit. Multiple friends & even our own wedding vendors said it was NOT NORMAL for wedding coordinators to just leave during the wedding.
Our biggest disappointments:
- She NEVER introduced her assistants to us so we literally met 2 COMPLETE STRANGERS as our "coordinators" during our own wedding reception
- Her month-of coordination consisted of emailing our timeline to our vendors, which we could have done ourselves.
- She did not show up to our own wedding rehearsal.
- She was to meet my husband & his groomsmen at his hotel to help with their boutonnieres before arriving to the church, and she did not show up.
- She was unprofessionally dressed - canvas overalls, platforms, a baggy cardigan, and her hair was up in a messy bun.
- She left at the beginning of our reception without saying goodbye & even without introducing her assistants, Stephanie and Taylor, to us.
- We never were able to do our traditional Filipino money dance, which we had been looking forward to for years, because they were not competent enough to execute the timeline.
- My sister HANDMADE 185 advice cards for our guests to fill out for Francis and me yet NONE of them were filled out because NOT ONE CARD was even displayed.
- Stephanie & Taylor WERE SEEN DRINKING ALCOHOL by our guests & vendors.
- ALL OF OUR FLOWERS WERE THROWN AWAY.
- They left all of our wedding decor on the side of the street for my elderly relatives & bridesmaids to handle on their own, when Jennifer reassured me that they would help load all of our belongings into our father's vehicle.
*Word of advice: when deciding on booking her to coordinate your wedding, make sure she does not have a wedding booked the day after yours.
Our wedding in September 2017 was a backyard wedding which means there were a million moving pieces and vendors to coordinate with. We knew we needed someone who was scrappy and reliable to help us coordinate the last 3 months of the planning process and with all the DIY aspects of the day. Jennifer was definitely our girl. From the first day to the last minute, she was there for us, anticipating any difficulties and proposing solutions we would have never thought of ourselves. And she did so much of the planning while I was across the country!
2 of my favorite moments with Jennifer were:
1. the rehearsal walk through, she whipped the whole thing into shape in seconds! Everyone asked me afterward who she was and how was she SO GREAT!
2. The second was when she ordered flowers for the arch decor from the SF flower market for me to pick up. I had a very limited budget for flowers she somehow managed to create the most beautiful arch decorations. When I opened the box she had ordered, I was in love, it was exactly what I wanted!
I only wish I had more reasons to throw a giant party. She would definitely be the first person I would call!
My fiancé (now husband) and I sat down with Jennifer for the first time when we were at a loss on how to move forward with wedding planning. We explored several different avenues on our own, and nothing felt quite right. Upon our first meeting with Jennifer, she instantaneously put our mind and our hearts at ease. She was the very first thing that felt right in our quest to plan our dream wedding turned elopement!
There are simply not enough positive words or adjectives we could use to appropriately describe Jennifer's abilities, talent, and patience! She flawlessly and impeccably planned, designed, coordinated and executed the best day of our lives - all while remaining amazingly communicative and supportive. On top of everything, she has the most exquisite eye for floral design and calligraphy.
We are forever grateful for making the decision to work with Jennifer and Blue Daphne Events. We wish that we could re-live our day that she designed over and over again - but our hope is that anyone even remotely considering a planner chooses Blue Daphne Events so that they can have the same unique and magical experience of their own.
Jennifer was an amazing coordinator for my wedding! I hired Blue Daphne for the Month-Of-Coordination and it was hands down, the easiest and funnest aspect of planning my wedding. Jennifer helped me through the entire process by giving me a planning guide and advice I used immensely. Jennifer's level of energy and professionalism exceeded my expectations and definitely helped with dealing with various vendors. The venue in particular was very difficult for me to deal with (they were extremely rude and difficult), Jennifer handled it without hesitation. She made sure she had everything under control, which was such a relief since I had such low expectations in the venue staff. I also hired Jennifer as my florist and the flowers came out amazing. She really listened to what I wanted and I could tell those arrangements and bouquets were made with love! She was extremely detail-oriented throughout the entire wedding, and was very helpful with packing up all of my belongings at the end of the night. I am so thankful for her efficiency and dedication for making my dream wedding run smoothly and effortlessly!
When me and my fiancé (now husband) Richie first met Jennifer, she literally was a breath of fresh air!! Our worries and doubts of getting a wedding planned in less than 8 months, and in a theme I was going for, was gone after our first meeting. Not only is she super sweet, she is so knowledgeable in all the different vendors in the Bay Area, and her way of organizing and making timelines, and keeping in touch with you through HoneyBook is on point. I wanted an elegant Beauty and the Beast theme, and my vision became a reality with her! She always had ideas and different options to throw out, when I wasn't really feeling mine. She came up with putting waxed seals on our invitations and favors, which turned out looking pretty fancy! She also did our flowers, and everything turned out beautiful at Ruby Hill (see pictures), and one of the bartenders I spoke to had said this was the most beautifully decorated wedding she's ever seen since she's worked there. The Minnie flower ears and wands that she made for my flower girls looked absolutely adorable too! Jennifer and her team really pulled through on the day of the wedding, not only making sure I was happy, but making sure the program ran smoothly, and everything on schedule. Without them, I could only imagine how disorganized everything would be! That being said, I definitely recommend Blue Daphne Events & Floral Design. You will not be disappointed!
Jennifer is such an amazing event coordinator and wedding planner. Her attention to detail is amazing and her creativity and talent is unmatchable. I will have her plan all of my events from here on out. Very professional and sweet!
LOVED working with Jennifer. I can't even express my gratitude. Everything exceeded my expectations and my flowers were absolutely gorgeous. She was full of ideas all the time, had a solution for everything, has an amazing online program that helped make everything even better, and was just the nicest person to work with. Seriously amazing! Highly recommend.
I just loved working with Jennifer and her professional team. I hired Blue Daphne for full planning and design and had the best possible experience. My flowers were better than I could have every imagined, and I didn't have to worry about a single thing the entire day. Everything leading up to it was perfect and I am just so grateful for the whole experience. Thank you so so so much!!
I hired Jennifer as a day of coordinator for my August 2015 wedding.
Overall, Jennifer was a good planner; but there was no wow-factor. I felt as if her energy was low during the event and that she may have been overwhelmed / in need of an assistant during some parts of the wedding.
Additionally, Jennifer did not meet my expectations of being detail oriented during the event.
Lastly, after the wedding was over and all costs were paid, Jennifer did not follow up to see how I felt about her services. I found this to be odd.
Although I appreciate her efforts, I probably would not hire her for a future event.
I originally hired Jennifer, the owner of Something Blue, for a reception and a separate ceremony, then ended up firing her for the ceremony because Jennifer was not professional, detail oriented, and ahead-of-the-ball on every single aspect of the events, as I believe a wedding planner should be.
The list of things gone wrong is too long to include here, but here are just a few: Mistakes in vendor contracts, failure to respond to inquiries for weeks or even months, failure to provide receipts, inability to complete tasks within the promised time period, frequent typos in communications to me and to vendors, inability to negotiate pricing with vendors, inability to estimate costs accurately, excuses excuses excuses when she could not produce a result, did not listen to my needs and wants, in my opinion looked unprofessional on the day of the event (I do not believe leggings and Toms are appropriate for a wedding).
Even when I explicitly expressed disappointment with her services and clearly indicated what my expectations were to try to resolve our issues and help her preserve the reputation of her business, she responded that she indeed had failed to estimate timelines accurately, but also with excuses about how busy she was with other events. She never offered to put an assistant or anyone else from her company on my account, nor did she offer a discount for being unable to deliver on her promises. Even with 13 months of time and an abundant budget to plan, I felt she did not act professionally or treat me like a valued client.
Despite the many issues I had, the flowers and decor that Jennifer and her team provided for the event looked wonderful. The event went off with just a few hitches. My main problem was with the entire planning experience over the course of 13 months, not the event itself.
I'm so glad that we decided to work with Jennifer at Something Blue as our day-of coordinator. The entire time leading up to our wedding, we felt well taken care of, and it was such a relief to know that Jennifer was available as a resource and helping hand. When Jennifer was dealing with a family emergency, she made sure that we were introduced to one of her other coordinators, in case we needed help, even though it was months before our wedding. She and her assistant were amazing the day of and made sure that our venue was set up according to our plans. I feel like she went above and beyond. One last thing, I loved that Jennifer used Basecamp as a way for all of us to stay in contact and organized.
Something Blue Wedding Planning and Design was a huge disappointment and a major let down. We hired Jennifer as our day/month-of coordinator. She was prompt to respond to my now wife when it was regarding setting up a business deal, however shortly after we gave her our deposit we still had questions regarding little things here and there that Jennifer had chose to ignore for a few months. I had then reached out explaining if we don't hear back within a week, I will file a chargeback. Jennifer's assistant had written me saying she will be a new point of contact and apologized as our file had been overlooked, however she then fell off the map as well.
About 2 months before our wedding, Jennifer met with us to do a venue walkthrough where she had stated that the amount of work we wanted done was not possible for her to manage prior to the wedding and she would need an assistant AND she would need to stay for an extra hour. At this point in time she quoted us an additional $350.00 on top of our quoted price. I then went back to review our contract with Jennifer only to realize that we had no legally binding contract with her, only a credit card authorization form. The contract she had sent us was for another couple's wedding one year prior, and in the midst of planning the wedding, we overlooked this. When I brought this to her attention, she apologized, but did nothing to remedy the issue or attempt to send out a legally binding form. When I read the details, I found that in her own contract she states that "the costs of said assistants is included in the contract amount" When I asked why she was charging us extra for an assistant she said that her original pricing stated that we have her for 12 hours, not 10 hours, so she now wouldn't need an assistant. Confusing right? There's more...
On the day of the wedding, we still had no contract with Jennifer, and she showed up 60 minutes late due to traffic. We understand that traffic happens, but wish she would have called to let us know she was going to be late so we knew what was going on. Our selected service also included a timeline which Jennifer never produced. My wife had emailed her the night before with simple last minute thoughts (i.e. the coffee pot can go on the cocktail table). The day of our wedding, my wife receives an email in the morning from Jennifer verbatim "I definitely will not have time to accomplish this-not physically possible-I need someone to help me.ni don't mean to stress you out, but with all these added things, I'm just not capable alone-I'm only one person." Again, the email the evening before was not added tasks, it was simply where to put items. We heard from our family that Jennifer acted very overwhelmed the day of, was unclear on her duties and didn't know many answers to questions that had been previously discussed. Since it was at our family's property, we had many family friends and the groom party present the day-of helping on the property. Jennifer was never left alone to do an abundance of tasks. At the end of the evening, she asked my wife if she was cleared to leave. This was one hour before her leave time as she came late and we figured she would add this to her schedule. From her former reviews, we have full confidence she was once amazing at her job but maybe having a growing family has affected her pace. We would not recommend Jennifer for planning your event as even with a very Type A bride that my wife was, Jennifer still felt overwhelmed.
I hired Jennifer as my day of/month of wedding coordinator this past Feb 2015 and was very disappointed in her level of service. My main issues were: her lack of follow through, 1-2 weeks to get back to emails, and overall not having the customer's experience as a priority.
I ended up canceling our contract and thus lost the $839 booking fee as well.
I first hired her because her site is beautiful, she was slightly less expensive than other planners, and was very responsive via phone and email prior to signing with her.
I hired her about 4 months prior to the wedding date and was very clear that the main things I needed from a coordinator was someone to help refer vendors, help refer a rehearsal dinner location, and then day of coordination. I was coordinating all the decor myself, so that was not part of the contract. She said all these things fall into her package and would be fine.
Her response time to emails averaged about a week or more. I did not do a rehearsal session (which was part of the package and in the contract) and asked if she could transfer that hour to the day of the wedding should we need it. She refused and said she would need to charge me. When I reminded her that she still had not sent me the vendor list or venue list, she conceded to transfer the hour. I also had to ask her 5 times for the vendor list, which in the end, she never sent. I finally asked to speak over the phone as I thought perhaps email was not the best way to communicate. Again, she was not able to setup any time.
I eventually asked to terminate our contract.
I do want to note that she had a family emergency which accounted for about a month of no replies to email or phone calls. I definitely understood her situation and am not including any of that time period in this review. My review is based solely on the events after that timeframe.
Kandis Harvey of Something Blue was an absolute lifesaver for me. I'd been handling all aspects of planning my October wedding on my own for about a year, and because so many of our "vendors" were friends that volunteered to help, it made it a little difficult to corral everyone and make sure everything was where it needed to be. We hired Kandis for the month before and day of our wedding, and I will forever be indebted to her for making our day absolutely perfect.
From the moment we chatted, I felt immense relief -- her confidence and professionalism were very reassuring, and her enthusiasm brought back some of the excitement that had been pushed aside by stress. As an admitted perfectionist, it's super difficult for me to trust other people with something this important. Kandis was not only supportive and understanding, but when a hiccup did threaten to disrupt our plans the day before the wedding (and I started to freak out), she took care of it right away, all the while providing a sounding board for me to vent to. On the day of our wedding, she coordinated so well with the venue and vendors -- friends included -- that I literally had nothing to worry about (an unusual state for me to be in). I've already recommended this vendor to friends, and will keep doing so -- thanks so much for everything, SB!

I do not want to think about what our wedding would have been like without the outstanding organization and artistry Jennifer brought to the table. We chose the classic package and we were blown away by her attentiveness and the way in which she was able to transform our vague style ideas into a concrete and beautiful presentation. The flowers, table settings, vintage trappings could not have been more perfect! Jennifer made planning straightforward and undaunting, and the day of we were able to sit back and enjoy our wedding. We didn’t once have to deal with anything other than enjoying the moment with our family and friends. My wife and I were operating under a tight budget and Jennifer made it seem like we spared no expense. Everyone at the wedding raved about the style. Jennifer has an amazing eye for detail and was able to transform our vision into a dream wedding. We are still getting compliments from family and friends about their favorite wedding (which says a lot since we are at that age where there seems to be a wedding every month). You must use Something Blue for your wedding!

I worked with Jennifer starting in November for my May 2014 wedding. I currently live in Texas and was planning my wedding for Livermore, CA. Jennifer and her assistant, Katelyn, worked with me through email and sometimes on the phone.
I believe that my experience working with Jennifer was unusual and very uncharacteristic. We were emailing back and forth about photographers and her responses simply stopped. It took several weeks of unreturned calls (her voicemail was full) and writing to her assistant to eventually contact her again. Obviously something was wrong, she had experienced a family tragedy and was trying very hard to recover.
By the time we had cleared things, I had already booked the photographer, flower designer, caterer, baker, makeup and dj on my own. Many of the vendors I had contacted were already booked, so it was very stressful to do without having a clue about what I was doing.
Jennifer took responsibility from then on and I was relieved for her help. She made sure that we had a schedule and that everything went smoothly the day of. She was responsible for beautiful cloth-drapes over where we had the ceremony. She even put twine on our bubble wands to match the rest of our décor. She has a talent for rounding up crowds and making them go where they are needed. She made sure that all the centerpieces were taken from the reception dinner to the barrel room for cake and dancing (we were married at Crooked Vine Winery). Everything flowed perfectly and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
I recommend Something Blue especially for the design expertise. It’s easy to look through magazines and find ideas you like, but expressing yourself and having your ideas come to life takes time. I was only in town the week before the wedding and there was so much to do.
My review for this fabulous team is long overdue. I have sang their praises to so many and am glad to finally share them on The Knot. Jessica and her team were essential to creating our perfect wedding day.
My husband and I held our wedding on Memorial weekend in San Francisco. We had spent months leading up to the wedding managing details and planning tons of DIY elements, but knew that ultimately we hoped to hand over the reins and let a day-of coordinator run the show. That’s why we paired up with Something Blue—but what we got was so much more.
It was important to us that we stay “in the moment” on our wedding day. We didn’t want to direct traffic or look at the clock. Most of our guests were from out of state, and we wanted them to treat their visit like an honest-to-goodness vacation. Having a team to set up, break down, and seamlessly direct the flow of the evening’s activities was our primary goal. Jessica really made that dream come true.
Jessica was so quick to respond to any questions that popped up as we finalized our day-of plans. In the event that she didn’t know the answer, she would immediately let us know she received our inquiry and was would be in touch soon. This excellent communication went such a long way to give me peace of mind. As if answering our questions and creating our timeline wasn’t enough, Jessica took it a step further. She set up her own appointment with our caterer before the event and together they went step by step over our plans. They ultimately saved us hundreds of dollars by eliminating unnecessary rentals and services—without even being asked!
We had some grand ideas for our wedding day, and Something Blue helped us implement all of these personal projects. The ladies knew every detail inside and out, and worked hard to transform our photo studio venue into the dreamy world we envisioned. Whether it was placing ceramic centerpieces, directing the florist, or arranging the dessert table, they took our ideas and ran with them no questions asked.
During the event, Jessica and her team kept the night rolling right on track. We never once had to look at the clock. Our guests were happy, entertained, and well taken care of. They were so friendly to our guests, and made themselves available to whomever had a request. Many friends noted that we were so lucky to have these girls running the show.
At the end of the night Jessica left us with one final piece of mind. After we had made our exit and the guests had all left, the team stayed behind to pack up and help the catering team load out. A simple email congratulating us on our marriage, and to let us know everything at the venue was taken care of, was a wonderful way to wrap up our experience with the team. Something Blue truly cared about making our wedding day memorable, and we cannot thank them enough.
To all brides considering having a wedding coordinator, I want to reassure you that it's one if the most essential vendors at a wedding.
My husband and I had a destination wedding, and, as with all weddings, the event had a lot of moving parts. Many guests were arriving days before the wedding. The rehearsal dinner was at one location; the wedding ceremony was at my hometown church; the reception was at a separate golf club; and the Thank You lunch was at my parents' home. The girls got ready with me at one hotel, while the boys prepped with my husband at a separate hotel. And, all our other key people, such as moms, dads, sponsors, readers, etc. got ready at their respective homes/hotels. We hired vendors from both Hawaii and California for our big day. Needless to say, I felt overwhelmed just thinking about how it would all come together.
Thankfully, Kandis was our day-of coordinator. But she became more than that. Kandis became a great point of contact for our various vendors, a delivery person of sorts for favors, flowers, and last-minute drop offs, a timing guru to keep us on track, a hair stylist for our flower girl, a resource for the kitchen staff during the reception. I'm sure she did a hundred other things I was unaware of... And that's why, on our wedding day, I was the most calm bride ever =)
I can honestly say that I remember every moment of our big day, from the moment I woke up, to our vows, to the our conversations at our sweetheart table. I had no concerns or worries or unfinished details to deal with. Kandis made it so easy to just sit back and enjoy each other and our time with family. After all the months of planning, she made sure that everything we wanted happened like clockwork. Thanks, Kandis, you were such a joy!
Throughout the planning portion of our wedding, Jennifer was always available, offered help, and ideas. We decided to book her for day of coordination, florals, and a la carte service for chalkboard signs and table numbers. Our guests were blown away by how great the floral arrangements were and how cute the chalkboard signs were designed. Thank you Jennifer for making our wedding beautiful!
I went back and forth on whether I wanted to have a wedding designer for my wedding because we all know how much weddings can add up to be. Well after much thought I met with a few coordinators and as soon as I met with Jennifer I knew that she had to be a part of my big day. She has this way of making you feel so at ease and when I thought my vision in my head didn't make much sense, she was there to help me and make my vision come to life! Not only was she so amazing to work with she is so talented at what she does. My wedding decor was beyond my expectations! I walked into my reception and it literally brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Jennifer and something blue for being so amazing! You made my day extra special and I can not thank you enough!
Something Blue was outstanding. This lady does it all!! She was extremely creative, inventive and had a beautiful vision. She has beautiful decoration, she's truly and artist. Her Flower arrangements were breathtaking. The day of my wedding I was to be able to just relax and enjoy my day! Jennifer took care of everything, she is a very patient and kind person she knows how to deal with any obstacle, including pushy family members. I can't imagine my day without Something Blue coordinating every detail I could have wanted. I'm forever thankful for her involvement in the best day of me life! Thank you Jennifer! You're one of kind.
Something Blue saved us! I was working a lot and my fiance was in grad school when we were planning. There just weren't enough hours in the day to get done all the crafting and creative ideas we wanted. We also wanted someone with professional expertise to help guide our vision. Because of Jennifer our wedding was perfectly executed and not a single detail went unplanned or forgotten.
Vendor Highlight: We were pretty particular about floral arrangements. We wanted everything to be in-season and local to the SF Bay Area. Jennifer actually hand-selected and arranged all of our florals for the entire day! We got so many compliments on how amazing everything looked. The photographs speak for themselves!
If we had it all to do over again we'd hire Something Blue every single time. I recommend her services to my recently engaged friends and recommend Something Blue to The Knot community as well.
We hired Jennifer to help us to plan our wedding just 3 months before our wedding day. Even if it was a simple wedding (we were only 4), she had a lot to do in a short time.
Actually, since we are French we had no idea on how to plan our wedding in SF (plus we had a low budget). She found the venue, suits for our 2 witnesses, the make-up artist, the photograph, the restaurant, the officiant, and she made my bouquet, my crown and the boutonnieres.
And everything was perfect. The only thing we had to do was to enjoy the day!!
So thank you Jennifer :)
Jennifer and her team helped me with my wedding last year. I picked Jennifer because I liked her handmade, vintage chic style and it fit perfectly with the aesthetic I wanted for my wedding. She helped me with the invitations, the floral design, the overall schedule, coordination with vendors, putting together decorations, and day of coordination with assistants. I had really great vendors and a wonderful site picked for the wedding, and everything came together beautifully in the end. Several of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to.
Very disappointed. We received our refund back though.
Jennifer and her team did our wedding day coordination, but they also did so much more! Jennifer met with us a couple times before the wedding, and was always available for consultation and vendor recommendations. She was invaluable in helping us come up with a game plan for the ceremony and did an absolutely amazing job coordinating the rehearsal; our wedding went very smoothly and was on schedule the whole time! The DJ she recommended from Sound In Motion, Nick, was great, too; they work very well together. It's impossible to list everything they do in this review, but we really appreciated it all. I didn't have to worry about anything and got to enjoy my entire wedding day stress-free. The icing on the cake is that her pricing is very reasonable -- worth every penny!
I am so happy to write this review because I was/am/always will be sooo grateful for Something Blue for helping create my dream backyard wedding. From our very first meeting, my fiance at time and I, knew we wanted to work with them. They were so polished, organized, professional and friendly. They seemed beyond their years and we appreciated their approach. On top of that, we knew we wanted a rustic/vintage feel for our backyard wedding and after seeing examples of their work on their website, it sealed the deal for us. We choose the coordination and planning package and rented their entire gorgeous collection. We worked with Kandis and she was such a doll and such a pleasure to work with. She had amazing ideas and also took in my own ideas and helped create what I felt was beyond my hopes for our big day. Her team focused on every last tiny detail with perfection. When we walked into our backyard my jaw dropped. It was a complete transformation and I couldnt stop staring at all the amazing details. They are so creative!! Flowers and candles were placed strategically & perfectly everywhere, hanging mason jars, awesome popcorn bar, super cool photo booth, guest signing area, gift/card table, rustic signage, beautiful sweetheart table, decorated family tree, etc. It was a fairy tale. The flowers Kandis picked out were absolutely spot on. They coordinated & managed the entire event and when it was all said and done, they cleaned out quietly. We would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. Our wedding would never have been the same without them, not even close, and by hiring them, relieved me of so much time, planning and stress. I love this team dearly and wish them a lifetime of success and happy wedding planning. From the bottom of our hearts, my husband and I THANK YOU KANDIS, JENNIFER AND TEAM. XO
This is probably one of the best things we did when planning my daughter's wedding Jennifer helped us for about a year with all of the planning, provided many suggestions such as a wonderful photographer, flowers in which Jennifer did all for a party of close to 300, advise when it came to pricing, what should and should not do's. Here expertise took the stress from me which being my only daughter I wanted an absolute perfect day and Jennifer and her team made this all happen. They handled the day any issues were all taken care by her and her team. If you are a mom and want that perfect day for your daughter contact Jennifer she will make sure if happens. One sad thing after the wedding was not having are wonderful meetings with her but we will still keep in touch since she made us feel like we were family...
Hiring Jennifer was the "BEST" decision we made out of all our wedding planning. My daughter and I workrd closely together planning her wedding although we felt we had things in control we could not have pulled it off without Jennifer. My daughter hired Something Blue for Day of Coordinator. We met her by chance at a Bridal show. From the moment we met her we knew we were good hands and made the right decision going with Something Blue. We had spoken with other coordinators, some made us feel our moderately budgeted wedding was beneath them and others did not offer nearly as much service for the price of Something Blue. For what Something Blue offers for Day Of Service is a steal. Jennifer provided us with helpful advise. She was always available to answers questions. Most of all she gave us a sense of calm and confidence throughtout our entire planning process. My daughter's wedding was beautiful and was flawless. If there was any problems we were aware of them. That is the beauty of Jennifer and her team! I "HIGHLY" recommend Something Blue.
As a wedding planner myself, I could tell from the minute I met Jennifer that she was exactly what every bride needs in a wedding planner: smart, competent, resourceful and organized. I never once changed my mind in the year leading up to our wedding! As with every wedding, there are always things that don't go according to plan. However, our wedding was definitely on the extreme side of the scale :) Not only was there an unexpected heat wave (our wedding day was a record setting 113 degrees), but due to the massive amount of A/C being used in the area, there was a blackout at the end of the evening about 30 minutes into the band! Jennifer and her team respond beautifully to all the trials of the day and she actually took what could have been a crisis and made the day even more memorable than I could have planned instead. She was incredibly professional and I am still so grateful for how well everything went despite all of the natural disasters of the day!
Jennifer Edmon was an absolute dream to work with. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. I utilized Jennifer's services for day of coordination, but I must say, she was a key component of the planning process. She helped keep my mom and I organized as our plans developed, she always made herself available for any planning related questions, and she offered her honesty and expertise throughout the entire 8 months that we knew her. Some wedding planners will often refuse to perform day of coordination without a planning package. Others will charge you an outrageous amount and subject you to additional fees if you have planning questions along the way. To be honest, I found most wedding coordinators to be snobby and rude. Jennifer was a breath of fresh air and quite frankly, a total bargain when I consider how much support she provided. Jennifer and her team executed my wedding plans beautifully and without issue. Something Blue, Weddings by Hand is truly a wonderful, personable service. On my wedding day, I felt that Jennifer was a part of my family. The day would not have been the same without her. Thank Jennifer and team for all that you did to make my wedding day such a joy! xoxo
Jennifer was an absolute delight to work with throughout the wedding process. I had a lot of ideas and she was able to help me sort through them and figure out what would work best with the venue and theme that we had. She was always calm, reassuring, and cheerful--often offering to help me with projects if I became too daunted!
Her team also did an amazing job decorating our reception venue! They placed flowers and candles throughout the venue--numerous guests commented on how beautiful the setup was.
One other thing to know--Jennifer has an elite team of interns and assistants, so they can handle even large weddings and big tasks with ease. I don't know how other wedding planners do without helpers. They were able to quickly and efficiently tackle any task, from putting up decor to helping with clean up.
Throughout the process, Jennifer was professional, kind, and helpful. She definitely helped my wedding be the beautiful day that I was envisioning!
Jennifer and her team made my wedding the amazing event that it was. I hired Something Blue, Weddings by Hand, as a day-of service after my fiance and I met with Jennifer briefly. She worked around my schedule to meet and gave us such great advice upon our first meeting. It was also extremely affordable!
I was so impressed with how professional, timely and efficient the team was. They made every detail come true, from coordinating the vendors, recognizing my style and vision, and timing everything to perfection, while I was able to relax and enjoy the day, knowing that all the little things would get done.
Thank you Jennifer and team for making my wedding dreams come true!
My Daughter got Married on October 20, 2012. It was Honestly one of the Most Precious Days of my Life !! Jennifer , Kandis and her staff made my Daughters Dream Wedding unfold right before my eyes !! My Daughter and I had met with her a few times before the wedding, showed her our backyard, and let her know what we wanted to make this day as Special as we possible could. My Daughter wanted a " Rustic, Vintage , Romantic " Wedding, and I was amazed at what Jennifer and her Team pulled together . We had the Ceremony in front of the Barn, and it was Breathtaking! They decorated the inside of the barn, had set up several stations, Candy Bar, Gift table, they set up the cupcakes in an old antique table with drawers , we even had a Smores Bar !! Their Decorating was Amazing !! It looked like something out of a magazine !! Jennifer and her Team were not only the Sweetest, Kindest young ladies to work with, they were so Talented !! To see what they put together, was absolutely a Dream Wedding for my Daughter, and I will forever have the Memories of one of the most Special Days of my Beautiful Daughters life !! It was everything I had ever wanted for my Daughter, on her Special Day !! As a Mother of the Bride, all I wanted to do, was to Enjoy my Daughters day and not have to prepare, decorate or Stress !! On that day, Jennifer , Kandis and her Team took control and did just that !! All I had to do was spend the day with my Daughter and her Bridal Party. All of her Ladies worked so hard all day and all night, they spent the day putting it all together, and while we Dancing and enjoying our night, they broke everything down, and packed it all up !! I couldnt believe how Non Stressfull the day and night went. I told Jennifer months ago, all I wanted to do was Enjoy my Daughters Day, and she made it happen !! Everyone all night kept coming up to me just Gleeming on how Beautiful everything was !! These Ladies did an Awesone, Amazing Job, and I will forever Love all of them for making my Daughters Day so Perfect !! Jennifer and her team are Absolutely Amazing , and I will be Forever Greatful to all of them !! There are no words to Descibe how Thankful I am for all of them !! Something Blue is doing Amazing things, and I wish them all nothing but Success !! You are truly a Blessing Jennifer and I Thank you from the Bottom of my Heart !!!
I can NOT express in words how AMAZING Jennifer and Something Blue is. They literally made my dream weddding happen. Every single detail that they put into my day just made me smile ear to ear all day long. Jennifer and Kandis made my boquet and all my bridesmaids boquets the night before the wedding, they looked SO beautiful, it looked like something that would have costed hundreds and hundreds of dollars! When I eventually saw the end product when I walked down the aisle, I was literally in shock! Everything I told Jennifer she did that plus SO much more! She listened to every detail that I wanted to go into my wedding. My wedding really would not have been what is was without Jennifer and her team. My wedding was in my pasture and the reception was in our barn, Something Blue transformed my backyard into a dream land! Every person that came up to me at my wedding told me they were speechless with how beautiful everything was, that is all becasue of Jennifer and her team. Some incidents happened at my wedding that Something Blue handled perfectly. I had a locket on my boquet of my Nana who passed away and after I was done taking pictures in our pasture I noticed the locket had fallen off my boquet. One of Jennifers interns was walking by and heard what had happened, I was a little upset, she told me, STOP worrying I will go search for it. Not even 5 minutes later, she came back and handed me my locket. That to me was amazing. She didn't tell me, "you're crazy, that pasture is an acre big, we will never find it." She took it upon herself to go look with no one asking her. That meant so much to me and she knew how important that locket was to me. Kandis also did a very selfless thing by walking with my flower girl down the aisle, becuase my flower girl had gotten scared. She didn't hesistate to go down or try to pressure my flowergirl to go down. This is what I loved most about Something Blue, they never made things dramatic and on this day many things can be dramatic. They just go with them. Another amazing thing two of her other girls did was, when I walked out of my backyard into my pasture and headed to the aisle, I had two doors hiding me the whole time so no one could see me. Well those doors were very heavy and there was suppose to be three girls holding them, but due to Kandis having to walk the flower girl down there were only two! They are very little girls also, but once again they made a very slefless decision for me and did it! I kept apologizing and they kept tellling me to stop it! My dad helped all he could, but I was so thankful they did it! They could have told me, we cant do this becuase it's too heavy. I will be reccomending Jennifer and Something Blue to ALL my friends and family. They blew me away with their professionalism, hard work, and creativness. I will never be able to express my thankfullness to Jennifer and her team. Something Blue is the way to go! You will regret not having them around! I give Something Blue a million and one stars!
When I got engaged, I was in nursing school trying to finish and we had set the date for right after finals week. I needed someone to come and take over everything for me! I was too stressed to even think about a wedding, and then I found Jennifer from Something Blue. She listened to every idea I had and found a way to make it happen on my tiny budget. She was there for me from beginning to end, walking me through what was realistic and what was unattainable for what I had, and gave me the confidence I needed to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The planning process was fun, even though I was MIA for 90% of it up to my ears in schoolwork. She took care of every detail. When the day came, I got to enjoy the day with my family and just see the event unfolding from my window. She did my flowers and everything, I can't say enough wonderful things about Jennifer and her team. Such creative people with an absurd amount of patience and kindness! Love them!
Jennifer is the best wedding planner you will get! She is very helpful in all aspects of you big day. Also, because she is so creative, if there is just that one something you have to have she can help create it or bring you to the right person to make everything possible. Her team was so kind and gracious and made sure everything ran smoothly, looked amazing and that I was having a stress free day! (which I was even though my day was a bazillion degrees outside!) Everything Jennifer does is creative, personal and exactly what you want. She turned my wedding into something I only dreamed in my head and used what I had to make it work and look beautiful.
If you are looking for someone to help you on your special day, to make everything turn out and beautiful, and to have the best day of you life my friend Jennifer here is the woman to go to!
Thank you again for everything you did on my wedding day!
Something Blue was a lifesaver for me!! I got engaged on June 22nd and had my wedding August 4th... A six week engagement! Me and my fiancé wanted a beautiful wedding with a low budget and fast, and it would have been impossible without Jennifer and Kandis! The founder, Jennifer was very professional and got the ball rolling right away. Never once did she think it was impossible even with six weeks and about a $3000 budget. It helps that she is very creative and does a lot of DIYs! Not only did she hand make my cake topper an veil, but she had a lot of beautiful decor I was able to rent from her. We had a gorgeous beach wedding and her assistant, Kandis was in charge of the set up the day of. I was amazed at how beautiful everything looked! It was better than I imagined! Something Blue knows just how to implement your unique style, and make everything come to life! You will not regret workin with them!!
