We hired the Blue Dot Jazz Troupe for our December wedding. They were amazing! Andy was very easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions quickly. The band was able to set up easily at the venue and helped keep us on our timeline.
We loved the set list that the band put together. It was a great mix of classics and new music. Their musicality and energy were top notch. We also got nothing but rave reviews from our friends and family! Our guests were on the dance floor for the whole night. We would definitely book them again for another event.

At the core of Blue Dot are gifted local musicians in their 20s and 30s, playing the piano, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, and vocals, with the occasional special guest on the guitar or trombone. We're more than just a band. We're a tight-knit musical family that turns every performance into a dynamic symphony of sound.
Our performances aren't just renditions, they're reinventions. We give popular songs a fresh twist with our distinctive jazzy style. We don't just play songs, we stretch them out, offering our audience a unique musical experience that's spontaneous, lively, and memorable.
Unlike other event bands where musicians are meeting each other for the first time on the gig, we're a band that continually hones its craft. We're proud to be the house band at the Alex Speakeasy in Georgetown, known for being one of the best jazz venues in town. Our consistent performances here have allowed us to build a solid repertoire and foster a deep connection among the band members.
In terms of flexibility, we've got you covered. Blue Dot can arrange performances as a duo, trio, quartet, quintet, or sextet, depending on your preference. Additionally, our pianist Andy offers exceptional solo performances, a service he's refined at esteemed locations like the Washington Golf & Country Club and the University Club in D.C, where he is engaged as their “house pianist.”

Andy Statler is a native Washington D.C.-based pianist who studied with some of the top musicians in the area. Andy is known for paying homage to the "jazz standards" and the Great American Songbook, while offering his own distinctive interpretations of melodies and harmonic structures. He has developed a broad repertoire covering decades of musical output from sundry genres. Andy loves performing at weddings and has 5+ years of experience in delivering a high quality product for weddings and similar events. He is easy to work with and can make suggestions to assure a memorable event.
