They were honest in their opinions, and gracious when we disagreed, and successfully managed the different wedding visions my daughter and I had - and I know that wasn't easy. They were great dealing with the various vendors we selected and deftly handled the inevitable bumps in the road. Best of all, they were fun to work with! I cannot express how comforting it was to have them on board, especially during the wedding weekend itself. I felt amazingly calm, knowing that they would take care of whatever last minute issues arose - and they did. An exceptional experience, and I don't say that lightly.

ere amazing from the very beginning! My husband hired them roughly 11 months prior to our wedding as a surprise to myself due to receiving unfortunate news regarding my health just after our engagement and being in no shape to plan a destination wedding, let alone a wedding in itself.
I had only gone as far as locking down a wedding venue and date, prior to beginning our journey with Blue Gardenia Events — and it was literally THE biggest blessing and most wonderful wedding planning experience that I didn’t even think was in the realm of possibilities - unless you played a character in a movie and Jennifer Lopez was your wedding planner. I may be one of the only brides to say this, but I ACTUALLY MISS WEDDING PLANNING (and if you knew me, I’m not the girl you would expect to ever hire a wedding planner).
From the get, Belinda just got. stuff. done. Not only done, but created a vision that became a reality within just 11 months. My husband and I both gave her a few thoughts to run with and just let her work her magic. Our trust with her and her team’s capabilities never once wavered. We knew she would fight for us when needed, her reputation with vendors held such an immense weight and we had no idea how key that piece of “the wedding planning” puzzle was until going through the process.
Your wedding day is quite literally a production and I say this as someone who used to produce TV commercials as a living. A complete up and down production — that should be fun, that should be stress-free, that should include champagne at all hours, and if your as lucky as we were, establishes a relationship that turns into someone we call a friend and who we look forward to grabbing a drink with (likely champagne) the next time we are in New Orleans.
She isn’t just a wedding planner but a wedding architect — from all design elements to helping pull off a ceremony that has never been done at The Elms — she literally did the impossible. Our wedding guests still talk about our wedding a year later and even made comments on how amazing our planner was. Which i imagine is quite rare!

The first thing I can say about BGE is transparency -- my wife and I were clued in and updated the entire way. By the end, Belinda felt like family evidenced by a moment of tearful happiness on the day of between my wife, Belinda and myself.
Secondly, Belinda leveraged her industry knowledge, connections and experience to ensure that we were taken care of. Whether it was event rentals, lighting, catering, invitations and everything in between, she was upfront with everything while keeping our budget top of mind. We never felt like we were being upsold by anybody and she provided objective feedback while always considering our opinions throughout the planning process.
Lastly, communication! Belinda made herself available via phone, text or email for the million questions that we had throughout the entire process. Additionally, we had weekly/bi-weekly calls to ensure things were going well.
To be honest, at first, we were nervous as our wedding was in California and Belinda is based in New Orleans but we decided to go for it and couldn't be happier. No matter your style, budget or wedding location, we highly recommend Belinda and BGE! Her and her team are more than wedding planners; we consider them friends now and are so grateful that they were part of our big day!

Belinda is your gal. She listened to all of our thoughts and proposed a venue (Maison Montegut) that was EXACTLY what we wanted. She connected us with the right people to do all the things we wanted for our wedding, had an amazing design proposal for us, and listened to any questions or concerns we might have had.
Belinda will truly treat you like you're the only bride you're working with - I would joke with her she was part therapist, part wedding planner (let's be honest - it's emotional and taxing in the best possible way, but still, it's a lot!). We signed up for the package that allowed us to work with her from beginning to end, and I am SO SO glad we did that instead of the final 6 weeks. There is NO way our wedding would have been the amazing night it was without her.
When we saw our venue after the ceremony and after the Second Line (when we could really look around!) it was magical - I have no words to accurately describe how she took what we wanted and turned Maison Montegut into an absolutely stunning courtyard. Not to mention they flipped the whole courtyard in about 30 minutes while we Second Lined! The whole place - courtyard and upstairs - was glowing. Everyone had such a good time, no detail was left unturned, and everything was so well executed. Belinda and her team go above and beyond to ensure your day is exactly what you want it to be.

utely perfect. She went so above and beyond what I ever expected out of a wedding coordinator, especially seeing as we hired her for week-of and design consulting. I loved our meetings, during which we'd pour over inspiration pictures, specialty linens, florals, color palettes, etc. and with a million tiny (but very important!) details, she made our dream wedding a reality. I literally cried when I walked into our venue (the Elms Mansion) and saw how perfect and beautiful everything was - exactly how I had pictured it all in my mind, except better. She made things so much easier on us as the big day came near, and was extremely helpful with tasks and errands that weren't even her responsibility. I think it's really important to note that Belinda is extremely organized, professional, and detail-oriented, but she still felt like a friend as opposed to "just another wedding vendor" - she kept me calm and level-headed whenever I felt overwhelmed, and was always there to crack a joke, give me a hug, and have a cocktail with me! The week leading up to our wedding, and especially the day of our wedding, we were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves because we were 100% confident that BGE had everything under control - this is especially important, as you don't want to run around on your wedding day worrying about vendor payments, timelines, setup/breakdown, etc. Our wedding experience would not have been the same without BGE, and I already miss working with Belinda!

ment to personalizing and customizing the wedding to the couple she is working with, and her meticulous attention to detail... it also doesn't hurt that she has a great sense of style and natural creativity. She is incredibly accessible and available during the planning phase, and goes the extra mile to help couples enjoy what can sometimes feel like a grueling process. For example, she brought macaroons to the decor meeting, and attended dress fittings and practice make-up runs with my fiance, bubbles in hand. Belinda and her team handled all our vendor interactions and payments, and she even took the time to home-make some items to save us a few bucks. On the day of our wedding, her team's execution was outstanding. If anything went wrong that day, I have no idea what it was, which tells me Blue Gardenia did an outstanding job. From where I was standing, everything was picture perfect. And after the event, Belinda and her team took complete care of the less glamorous side of things, breaking down the venues and returning rented equipment the following day.
What can I say? Blue Gardenia is great. Belinda is great. If you are lucky enough to have found her, I can not recommend highly enough that you work with her on your event.

I believe there are many talented wedding planners in New Orleans who are capable of doing that. What differentiates Belinda; however, is her undeniable passion for what she does and her unwavering commitment to you and your wedding. I honestly do not know how she is able to provide such a personal and attentive service to each of her wedding couples, because she truly makes you feel like your wedding is the only wedding she is currently planning (which I know is absolutely not the case).
Countless times Belinda went over and above my (very high) expectations in order to not only make my wedding day beautiful and seamless, but also to make the entire wedding planning process a fun, enjoyable, and exciting experience. Belinda was able to really listen to what we wanted, made suggestions when it was needed, got excited along with us as we threw out-of-the-box ideas and made dreams a possibility. Having a creative background, I was pleasantly surprised at how talented Belinda was visually and artistically. She really takes each wedding with great pride and enthusiasm and without asking made details that added just that extra touch. Thank you so much for those handmade dessert signs that mimicked mine!! The morning started with special treats for all members of the bridal party followed by an amazing horse and carriage ride though the French Quarter. Every detail was planned, down to the last minute and she helped ALL of us feel at ease with our roles in the wedding. The wedding ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception was gorgeous in every way....the cake, the tables, the decorations. Belinda did such a great job on our wedding timeline, setting up the wedding suites for the photographer, recommending vendors, suggesting flower arrangements, putting together inspiration boards for my vendors, designing and printing beautiful table numbers, and much more. all. It would be an understatement to say that Belinda exceeded my expectations. She also offers customizable packages to fit just about any budget. Belinda helped with nearly aspect of organizing décor, creating a production schedule, confirming with vendors all while absorbing much of my stress the week of the wedding. I certainly didn't anticipate much of the planning process when I said yes to my husband's proposal, but Blue Gardenia Events was one of the best choices I could have made in the initial stages of preparing for a wedding. I'd also venture to say that I'm a pretty low-key person that didn't have many expectations for my own wedding... Blue Gardenia Events made my modestly-budgeted wedding seem like a grand event! er made with my wedding. From the moment I met Belinda I knew I was in good hands and never once worried about the wedding planning process. She helped me create and unify my wedding vision. (Pinterest boards can only get you so far) She was there for me every step of the way and never made me feel like an imposition or problem. I had to keep reminding myself the week of the wedding that I was getting married because I didn't have to verify with or call one vendor. I didn't have to worry about how something would look or come together, I knew it would be beautiful. Everything far exceeded my expectations and was perfect. There's not a thing I would change and I can thank Blue Gardenia Events for that!
Belinda is professional, dedicated and detail-oriented, but most importantly enthusiastic, kind-hearted and fun! People say to not sweat the small stuff on your wedding day... She organized all of the details and moving parts to make sure nothing was missing, which included figuring out the avenues to take to receive a permit for the day to use the park. Along with my vision, she enhanced the décor elements with her original ideas and props she had on hand that made the charming pub into a romantic setting for guest to enjoy. In the weeks leading up to the wedding day, Belinda was available to meet, answered any questions, and provided me with extra support, with anything to help relieve stress. She did all the things that a bride doesn’t realize will lead to major stress, so we can do what were are supposed to be doing, which is enjoying the moment with our friends and family. It was so nice to have someone to make the final check in with all of the vendors before the big day!
