About this vendor
Blue Jar Photography is an award-winning wedding photography company.
Located in Princeton, New Jersey. Serving the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania areas.
From a young age, I always loved photography. I was fortunate enough to attend a high school with a very good photography program. I attribute all valuable skills to my high school photography teachers. Embracing the simplicity and elegance of the art is what my photographic style is derived from. I feel that on a wedding day less is more. I find that allowing the wedding day to unfold naturally makes for the best images. We believe that the natural love and joy of a wedding day will provide images that you will cherish for a lifetime.
Since 2008 Megan has been photographing weddings. After spending several years working in the industry in 2010 Megan decided to work on her own. In 2015 we created the Blue Jar Photography brand and worked mainly in New York City and Long Island. We recently settled down outside of Princeton, New Jersey. Since 2010 we have added several other photographers, a little pug, and a fresh Blue Jar Babe to our Blue Jar family.

Blue Jar Photography was the first vendor we hired for our wedding after the venue, and is still one of the best choices we ever made for our wedding! We found her on our venue's i...
nstagram page and I was immediately drawn to her style of photography. I knew I didn't want the overly saturated/bright style, and Meg's photos are exactly what I was looking for. She is such a calming presence and I was immediately put to ease seeing her when we walked into the venue. We did our engagement shoot about 14 months before our wedding and it was the perfect time to get to know each other before our big day. She directs but doesn't overly pose you, which was perfect. We are SO excited to see our photos and can't thank Meg enough for documenting our day.
Highly recommend!! We chose Blue Jar for our spring 2024 wedding and are so happy we did. Meg's galleries / portfolio speak for themselves! The photographs captured the energy an...
d emotion of our wedding perfectly, with many candids mixed in with some posed shots. We loved the way she captured both us and our guests, as well as the surrounding scenery/venue (which included a fair amount of greenery as we did our ceremony in a park). The final editing was also exactly the style we were looking for -- polished and timeless. Meg kindly provided some sneak peek photos that we could use for our thank you cards. When we saw the full gallery, we were also blown away by how many photos and moments she captured. We only had Meg there shooting, but she somehow managed to photograph what seemed like so many different angles on the same moment. Meg was professional and so friendly, and we highly recommend her to other couples looking for an excellent wedding photographer.
I can't say enough good things about Meg. Not only was she just lovely to correspond with leading up to our engagement photos, but she did a PHENOMINAL job. She made us feel so com...
fortable and cute during our session, and her pictures came out AMAZING. She's the perfect photographer if you want natural, documentary style photographs that really just bring out your love and joy for each other. 10/10 would recommend!!
Words can't describe how incredible Meg is, not only as an artist and photographer, but also as a person. Meg is not only great at what she does, but she is also passionate about i...
t- and it shows not only in the photos she shares, but her personality. The minute I pulled up to the venue with my bridal party the day of our wedding, I saw Meg, and felt an immediate sense of relief. Meg’s demeanor is extremely calming, and her positivity and confidence is contagious. She is so fun and easy to not only work with, but also to be around. She made myself, my husband, our bridal party and family members feel so confident and comfortable while taking photos. On top of all of that, she took her time capturing such beautiful moments, both posed and candid. All of the photos we’ve received so far are absolutely breathtaking, and truthfully indescribable. Meg played a huge part in making our wedding day extremely special and stress free. Having Meg there on your wedding day will not only make you want to have ANOTHER wedding so she can be there to photograph again, but her energy is so contagious that she’ll make you wish she was there as a guest. I could go on and on about Meg’s positivity and passion and how beautiful she made our day... but if you look at her work, you can see it for yourself. If you’re looking for a genuinely beautiful person to work with, whose positivity and passion is contagious, stop looking for another photographer and book Meg. She is the BEST.
Megan did our engagement photos, and we couldn’t be happier! She is so fun and easy to work with. She worked around our busy schedules and unexpected schedule changes and also wo...
rked around the changing weather conditions to ensure everything was just right. She gave us enough direction to know what to do, but also let us be natural which led to a great mix of candid and posed shots. She got there early to scope out the area to ensure we knew where to go to get great shots, and they turned out absolutely stunning. She even worked with us to recreate a couple images we had in mind! We had such a blast working with her and absolutely recommend her for engagement photos! Thanks Meg!!
Finding the right photographer was a big deal for me. I knew that our wedding would be one day, but our photos would be forever. I wanted photos that would capture the day... the...
emotion, the beauty, and the joy. Blue Jar was the BEST decision I could have made. Megan was down to earth, easy to work with, and genuinely enthusiastic and supportive of us every step of the way. We had so much fun with her during our engagement session, and thought that nothing could top our engagement photos. And then we saw our wedding photos... the joy... the beauty... and the emotion of the day, all captured more perfectly than I could have imagined.
Megan is absolutely wonderful to work with! She helped answer any and all my questions we had. Her pictures are absolutely beautiful. You can tell this isn’t just a hobby for her, ...
this is her life. I cannot recommend her enough! If you are getting married in the NJ/NY area stop your search and book Megan now! You won’t regret it!
We had a great engagement shoot in Central Park with Megan! She was super responsive to emails leading up to the shoot, and was very patient when we ran a bit late. She helped us b...
e comfortable in front of the camera, even though we were both nervous, and her photos looked great for our Save the Dates and wedding website!
Megan was amazing! She was super easy to work with and kept it fun. I can’t wait to see all of the pictures, I’d recommend Blue Jar Photography to anyone!!
Megan at Blue Jar is absolutely amazing. My wife and I are both shy in front of a camera and Megan absolutely put any of our fears to ease. The photos came out exceptional and our ...
friends and family were equally amazed with the results. If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding I couldn't recommend Blue Jar more.
Megan is stunning! She was actually the photographer for my sister's wedding and I knew I had to have her for our big day! She is flexible and easy to work with. She is extremely u...
nderstanding of your wants and truly captures picture perfect images. She is prompt with her emails and does not make you feel crazy when you ask 7 millions questions, haha! She is friendly and feels more like a friend than a photographer. From the details starting with booking her, planning the big day, snapping all the shots, and keeping in touch after the wedding... she rocked it! One thing that was really important to me was having certain photos and a range of them. Megan gave us more photos than I could ever imagine and ALL of the shots. She is most definitely one of the BEST! XOXO
We actually have known Megan through mutual friends and have always been a fan of her work. Words cannot express how thrilled and grateful that we were able to have Megan and Chri...
s by our side for our wedding day! It was so much fun and effortless and truly felt like they were a part of our family! Our wedding photos (and engagement) are absolutely gorgeous - we would get teased that engagement shoot look like a winter fashion catalog :)
