He captured the moment very eloquently and words cannot do justice to the captivating images we got from John. He really got what we wanted and he knew our vision for the wedding. On the wedding day he showed up on time (even earlier, actually!) and started taking photos of my dress, accessories, bouquet, etc. while I was still getting ready. Throughout the whole day he was very professional while also being very friendly and offering lots of great suggestions. He made sure he fully understood our timeline, something our wedding coordinator failed to do. She had forgotten we wanted to do the shoe game during our reception like we had discussed. John came up to us and asked if we had decided to skip it because he was unsure as to why we hadn't done it yet. If it weren't for John keeping up with the schedule we would have missed our chance to play the shoe game entirely. By the end of the wedding we basically felt like he was a friend of ours, he was so easy to work with. Upon looking at the photos we were blown away by the hundreds and hundreds of beautiful photos he took. It has been extremely hard to choose my favorites because they are so great! I truly don't have a single negative thing to say about John and 100% recommend him and Blue Media Works Photography.

times. He showed up on time, made us feel at ease, laughed with us, and never said no to any suggestion we had. The engagement session was kind of a photographer interview for us and we booked him for our wedding on the car ride back home after the session. Our wedding was kinda muddy and rainy, but he never complained. He rolled with the punches along with everyone at our wedding. He walked around in the mud so that we got cute pictures and he got many, many wonderful candid pictures (including my husband's first view of me down the aisle, my brother in law embarrassing his son by doing a Fortnight dance on the dance floor, and a wonderful "omg" moment during the reception between me and a friend when she told me she was having a baby girl). My favorite candid moment was definitely a shot of my brother in law doing a John Travolta style disco pose on the dance floor. I can't recommend John enough. Everyone was asking for his information at the end of the night and saying how nice he was. He is definitely our go-to photographer from now on.

They provide a form for the bride to fill in all the desired family picture combos ahead of time (bride with mom, bride with brothers, groom with sisters, etc) that saves everyone oodles of time and stress on the day of because the photographer doesn't have to constantly ask what combinations need to be done next, plus he has a good idea already of how many family photos he'll be taking. The site also lets brides upload images of poses they've found on Pinterest etc. so the photographer will know what she's looking to duplicate. All very smart. On the day itself, BMW's photographer John arrived promptly on time, was very personable and friendly, and effortlessly efficient at getting all the first look and family photos done in short order. It was lovely working with him. While I was still on my honeymoon, I got an email with a link to an online gallery to my hundreds of photos, all of which are gorgeous! The link is shareable with friends and family, which is very convenient, and any guest to the gallery can set up their own free account and purchase their own copies of any photos they'd like, without having to get the bride involved. The day I got home from my honeymoon, a flash drive was waiting in my mailbox with all the photos, plus a card that assured any printers I had full rights to print what I wanted. To sum up, the entire process was tidy, clean, and didn't waste a second more of my time that I didn't need to spend. I got excellent photos, and the whole thing was reasonably priced to boot. If you don't like a lot of fuss and drama, and just want a decent photographer to show up and not waste your time, then BMW is the business for you.

We were very limited on time with outdoor lighting after the ceremony and he made sure to capture all our formal pictures as well as our special requests. We were thrilled to be sent 1000+ photos in such a short turn around time. On top of that we were blown away by the quality the pictures had from beginning to end of our special day! e made sure that the setting and lighting was just right so that the pictures would turn out amazing. He also got the pictures to us so quickly. Our wedding was on Sunday and he had the pictures to us by Monday afternoon. I must also mention that the price is just where we needed it to be. As it was a small wedding, we didn't need a package starting at 5 hours. We hired John for one hour and got exactly what we wanted. I cannot say enough kind words about our experience with John and the Blue Media Works team!

He made us feel comfortable during the whole session and was willing to try new poses he hadn't captured before. For my bridals, John was completely understanding when I had some huge hiccups with my hair & makeup trials and was running 2 hours late. I called him the day of to ask if we could push the time back, due to my stylist forgetting about my appointment and was running 1 1/2 hours late. He was extremely considerate and made it work for me. Then, on top of that I was another 1/2 late because she ran long and he made it seem like it was not a big deal. (He has this way of making everything feel less stressful) While we were taking my bridals he showed me some of the photos he had taken of brides at the same venue and let me pick which poses I wanted to try. He also let me suggest a million other poses I had found on pinterest. Despite the horrible experience with my beauty stylist, John and Blue Media Works made my bridal portrait day fun and managed to make me look good even though I was disappointed with the job the artist had done. Then there was the big day. We had planned to have an outdoor ceremony, but of course there was 90% chance of rain and had been raining off and on all morning. He reassured me that we would be able to at least take pictures outside and even checked the weather to see where the rain would be during our ceremony time. He was so organized and thoughtful during the whole day. He was very efficient and helped throughout the day with all aspects of the wedding. If you're looking for a photographer that is truly easy going, helpful, and understanding then John and Blue Media Works is the way to go.

He even took the time to look up inspiration for same-sex (i.e. two grooms) poses before he arrived and, again, seemed excited to capture and try different things. We met a few other photographers prior to finding John and they were either not a good fit for us (uncomfortable meetings) or outrageously priced. When I saw his company’s ad on The Knot during Photographer’s Week, I was blow away by the clarity of the photos and the softness - it was everything we were looking for. We set-up a meeting with John and as soon as we met him we knew he was the person we were looking for. His humbling demeanor and ability to make us just feel comfortable was a plus for us; he actually listened to what we wanted and provided ideas. We booked him inmediately after our meeting - is important to note that to reserve our date it was only $10! John also did our engagement session and was very adaptable. Our photos were supposed to be done outside but it was raining so bad that we decided to do our photos in our apartment (note, John arrived an hour before to just monitor the weather - he truly cares!). The photos were amazing and he didn't even have a problem with including out fur baby in the pictures. Although, we were excited with our engagement photos (which looked straight out of a magazine), but then our wedding photos were done and exceeded our expectations! The photos were breathtaking and here is the best part, we received over 1000 photos exactly one week from our wedding date - the turn around time is truly incredible. The wedding day was a long one and John was there for it all - 7 plus hours with a smile on his face. He didn’t even bother staying a little extra to capture our fireworks show, which I told him of the day of the wedding. He captured every special moment of the day; during the entire time John was within eyesight which made it so easy to take pictures with family and friends. Our family and friends are in awe at the beauty of our wedding photos. Which circles back to the short version: John Squyres is someone you want to hire to capture those special moments!

Way above what would be expected from a photographer. We moved after booking them and we forgot to update our address for the photos. It was shipped to the old address. We attempted to receive the package from the old address but had no luck. We emailed Blue Media Works explaining the issue expecting to be charged for the redelivery as most companies would have. John Squyres responded within 30 minutes stating he would resend the photos without charge and forward the updated tracking number. The photos turned out better than we could have imagined.
