Blue Mountain Bistro Catering is an award-winning wedding catering company based in Kingston, NY, chef-owned by Richard and Mary Anne Erickson. The company specializes in freshly made, delicious food crafted to a high standard and with special attention to flavor and seasonings. After catering for over a thousand weddings, this culinary team prides itself on providing reliable and tasty services to couples on their big day.
Every dish is made with love, passion, and seasonally produced ingredients. Blue Mountain Bistro Catering can help couples with more than their reception meal, as they can also coordinate rentals such as a tent, tables, chairs, linens, and place settings to complete the dining experience. Chef Richard and his team put their heart into everything they do, from curating the perfect menu to setting the ambience with lighting and professional customer service.
Blue Mountain Bistro Catering offers all-inclusive catering meal packages, complete with appetizers, starters, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. Couples can opt for luxury items, such as Mediterranean Mezze grazing tables and dessert pie buffets for an extravagant reception. Dining styles range from buffets to waiter-served plated courses. Additional services include wedding cake cutting, locally roasted coffee and tea for the end of the meal, and drink consultations to assist with ordering alcohol.

I used blue mountain bistro for my wedding on 08/26/23. Words can not describe how easy and wonderful Mary and her team were to work with. From the very beginning, Mary was accommodating to our requests and asked detailed questions to ensure we were on the same page. Her staff on wedding day were some of the kindest people I have ever met. They were welcoming, helpful, accommodating, and provided us with wonderful ideas to enhance our day. I cannot go without mentioning how great the food was. I had guests tell me that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. From the passed apps to the entrees, we were blown away. 3 weeks later and we are still talking about the tuna Tartare on the wasabi rice cracker. I could not recommend this company more and I am so thankful we found them. Truly our wedding day was perfect and a lot of that had to do with the staff, food, and wonderful drinks made by the bartender.

We can’t thank BMB enough for catering our wedding at Onteora Mountain House this past September. A beautiful day perfected by delicious food and incredibly kind service. From the hors d’oeuvres, to the plated service, to the beautiful cake… we could not have been happier. The tasting was one of our all time favorite parts of wedding planning because they make it IMPOSSIBLE to choose! My venue (Onteora Mountain House) works exclusively with Blue Mountain Bistro, and I was glad to be relieved of the stress of finding a caterer and a cake. Not only that, but the food was great! After buying food from their local shop and attending the tasting, I was actually excited for the food at my own wedding.
Everyone was wowed by the quality of the food—during cocktail hour their food was complimented several times and I even got asked “should I pace myself because dinner is going to be just as good?” They also were incredibly helpful with figuring out and working with the allergens and dietary restrictions. Even our cake was amazing. We went for a gamble on a flavor we hadn't gotten to try at the tasting (red velvet,) and it honestly turned out to be my favorite. I highly recommend them as a vendor!

This is a much belated review, but the food at my wedding was so good and Mary Anne was such a pleasure to deal with during my wedding planning jitters - thank you Mary Anne! So many guests came up to me saying everything they had was delicious. I wish I had a stacked plate of all of the apps as I write this! And the food tasting that I did a month earlier was a blast!

Blue Mountain Bistro catered our wedding at Onteora Mountain House in June. The food was absolutely delicious and working with the BMB team was such a pleasure. Given Covid wedding planning, we had to rethink some things about our menu and how food would be served. The BMB team was so open to working with us to make sure the appetizers, dinner, and desserts were exactly what we envisioned. We had a lovely tasting where we got to try samples of all the food options which was essential to decision-making. We got so many compliments from our guests on the food. I *highly* recommend BMB for your catering needs!

Mary Anne and the Blue Mountain Bistro crew are amazing!!! Having locally sourced ingredients was very important to us when looking for a wedding caterer and Blue Mountain does it right, for a fair price and with great taste! We actually visited the store and picked up dinner to-go before booking and were blown away from the taste and quality of the offerings. From the incredibly stocked grazing table and passed hors d'oeuvres all the way through the wedding cake and bite-sized tartlets, everything was super delicious and beautifully presented. Multiple wedding guests came up to us to say that the steak was the best they ever had at a wedding. Coming from a crew that visits top quality restaurants in NYC on the regular, this said a lot!! Mary Anne worked diligently with us on the menu, incredible tasting, as well as all of the timing details. We also catered the day-after BBQ with Blue Mountain and are so glad we did. Her staff is super friendly and the bartenders she works with kept the drinks flowing and carried out our requests without question and with ease.

Experienced in wedding catering for many years, she and her team delivered delicious, fresh, locally sourced & very high quality food that our guests raved about. Mary Anne and her team did the most incredible job at our wedding a few weeks ago. We had so many compliments from our guests on the delicious, farm-fresh food and warm, friendly service. We also ordered their amazing chocolate and carrot cakes for our rehearsal dinner, which were a huge hit.
We had a caterer back out on us last minute, and Mary Anne was completely reassuring and calm that they could accommodate our vision in a very short amount of time. They nailed everything from logistics to food- and were so fun to work with, too.

Mary Anne and the Blue Mountain crew catered our wedding at our home in Woodstock. We really couldn’t have been happier. The price was great and the food was excellent. We can’t even count all the guest compliments we received about the food. Everyone loved the bartenders too! Not to mention, they also coordinated with our rental company flawlessly to make sure they had everything they needed and take a load of stress off of us for the planning. They even packed up all our leftovers and deposited them to our basement freezer at the end of the night.
All around great folks and delicious food, we would happily recommend them 100% to anyone!

We give Blue Mountain Bistro the highest rating possible!!! They catered both of our daughter's weddings over the last few years. The food was fantastic and the presentation was stunning! Their staff was highly professional, efficient and pleasant to work with. Most of all, Mary Ann and Richard are excellent at what they do. They willingly worked within our budget and accurately calculated the right amount of staff, food and drink. We were not as organized with our second wedding and their calming presence was crucial! Their joy, positive attitudes and flexibility are amazing! If we had a third daughter, we would insist on Blue Mtn Bistro!

I can never thank Blue Mountain Briso and Mary Anne and Richard for the way they helped me pull of a huge, wonderful wedding. Mary Anne really doubled as a wedding planner, helping me with rentals, logistics, recommendations and so much more. We had a very large wedding with about 270 people but still wanted a backyard BBQ vibe and they helped us pull this off perfectly. We were even featured in the New York Times Vow column. I went on to recommend them to many of my friends and they also LOVED them. Can't recommend Blue Mountain Bistro highly enough. I could not have had the wedding I wanted without them.

Mary Anne and Richard came highly recommended from several friends and family. They did not disappoint! Mary Anne was very professional in the initial stages of planning, as well as attentive and responsive with emails.
Chef Richard was able to accommodate special requests and develop a stunning menu. With my other half being a chef, it was a tall order to make his culinary demands come true. Everything was exquisite! We had a buffet style dinner (with some family style items on the tables). Her staff was so great as well; we didn't even notice their flawless service, which in my mind in the best kind of service - it's there but it's understated. We even hired them to do a brunch the next day. Don't look any further than Blue Mountain Bistro - one stop shop for amazing food and service.

We had local duck confit, wild alaskan sockeye, and the most delicious butternut squash bread pudding ever at our fall wedding at Onteora with Blue Mountain Bistro. They were a pleasure to work with from the tasting until after the wedding was concluded and I would highly recommend them!
