The food was phenomenal -- we are still getting compliments about it (we were very southern style) --, the drinks were perfect -- our guests were very pleased with the bartender; he was always with a smile, and best of all, Sue was there if I needed anything in a heartbeat. So, if you're looking for a company that will genuinely be there for you on your special day, I highly recommend you hire this team. You will not be let down. I don't rate things a 10/10 often, but Sue and this vendor get a solid 11/10 from me.

om our initial tasting and meeting with Sue all the way to our wedding reception a year later than anticipated, we had nothing short of a wonderful experience with Sue and the team at BRCC. After comparing catering services in the area, we found that Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering Company provided the most affordable of options, without sacrificing ANY amount of professionalism and quality! For our wedding reception, BRCC did a fabulous job providing food and drinks for our cocktail hour, dinner and bar service throughout the night, and kindly accommodated our requests around food substitutions for our guests with dietary restrictions. Although we decided to bring in desserts from a local donut shop, BRCC also offered to set out and arrange desserts for us, and did a fabulous job! Sue works closely with local events rental services, and along with her team, assisted with tables, linens, and flatware set up, and tear down, and rental contract coordination. The BRCC also assisted in setting up ceremony seats for us-they went above and beyond. Sue was incredibly supportive and responsive to our many questions, and menu changes along the way. She offered helpful suggestions while also doing a wonderful job supporting our vision for our wedding celebration! Also, when unexpected circumstances due to the pandemic hit and we had to reschedule our larger celebration, while not necessary, Sue and the staff at Blue Ridge Catering were incredibly flexible and accommodating, and kindly allowed us to transfer our contract to the following year, without any hassle. We're incredibly grateful to have had Sue and the team at Blue Ridge Catering as our wedding caterer, and would highly recommend them-thank you Sue and the Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Company team!

The chef is a true professional and the catering staff was seamless and efficient. In terms of coordinating, our wedding was flawless only because Sue handled every single hiccup on the day. Of course there were little things that went wrong (or moments we forgot to plan for) because it’s not possible to plan for everything, but no one would have known! Sue was professional, fast, efficient, and knew every detail of our day. Sue is extremely experienced and involved us minimally; she even kept us on-time when we did everything we could to mess that up for her. She had it all under control and was a joy to work with before and during. Any guest who interacted with her told us the same. Can’t say enough about wonderful Sue and BRCC!!

The buffet dinner was delicious, with fall-off-the-bone chicken, broccoli with orange butter, and salad + hors d’oeuvre, etc. The service for the dinner was also wonderful; everyone we encountered was welcoming and helpful. Blue Ridge also provided box lunches for our picnic wedding, which were absolutely delicious! I probably ate about 5 turkey croissants the day after :)

If you are looking for a simple menu with everyday food that people will recognize by name on your menu but food that also tastes upscale, this is the place for you. We went with the Chicken Blue Ridge and BBQ Beef Brisket for our entrees and both received amazing compliments from our guests, people are still talking about the beef brisket almost a week later! From the cocktail hour to the reception, everything was absolutely phenomenal. Choosing Blue Ridge Cafe as our wedding caterer was one of our best decisions in wedding planning. 10/10 all around.

ZING! We have been vegetarian for about 7 months but we GLADLY broke our diet for Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co food! The constant communication was perfect even when I had to take days to respond because of the chaos. Sue's willingness to listen, be upfront, find solutions and just be very welcoming and helpful was amazing. She was not present for the wedding but her staff was on point, very helpful, very willing and attentive. I can not say enough about how amazing this experience was. Even if you do not use them for your catering events (which you should); stop by and grab a bite at their restaurant!! Thank you Sue for everything and please extend our gratitude to your staff who was present. Oh! They also did have a vegetarian option.

They were able to give us a similar menu that was in iur budget, and the quality of the food was second to none. The servers arrived on time and had everything set up and ready to go promptly. The lead server, Martha, was absolutely the best. She went above and beyond to help make our day go smoothly. If we could give them 10 stars we would. We highly recommend this company and Martha. (our venue manager even raved about how he's never seen a smoother tear-down and clean-up after a wedding:) BUT above all of their service excellence, the best part of Blue Ridge Cafe is the staff. They were all so personable and you could tell they really LOVE their jobs. They were fun and kind and made it all look so easy even though I know they were working incredibly hard every minute. They didn't forget a single sweet detail!!!!! Sue is so good at her job it's crazy. She knows the business so well and it shows! What I loved most about her is that she has such a calm nature about her that she makes everyone around her calm too...she's EXACTLY what brides and moms need on their side during these crazy times!!! I can't recommend them enough and can't wait til our younger daughter gets married so we can enjoy their team again!!

We had planned a 150 person wedding with cocktail hour and a buffet style dinner but COVID happened and we had to change everything. We were no longer having a buffet style dinner for 150 people, we went to a plated dinner for 30. Our cocktail hour went from 1 hour with 150 guest to 3 hours with 60 guest. This change of plan happened within a month of our wedding. Blue Ridge also listened to ALL of our request, every employee had a mask and gloves on, they all washed their hands every chance they could and made us (and our guest) feel safe. On top of that, the food was amazing- the bacon wrapped scallops were on point. I also recommend the bang bang chicken and the mushrooms! All of our guest continue to talk about the food at cocktail hour. The food at dinner was also perfect- the beef was cooked just right and the chicken was so moist. The veggies and mash potatoes were the best. I did not try the pasta but from our guest, the pasta was also on point. Blue Ridge sends a chief to cook everything on site which made the food taste fresh and amazing. Sean did an amazing job!! There was a miscommunication with our cake and which cake was to be cut during cocktail hour and which cake was to be cut during dinner. Blue Ridge cut both cakes but being fast thinkers they sent an employee to buy more icing and fix the mistake. At the time, I (the bride) had no idea it happened and everything turned out wonderful. We also brought our own plates, forks, knives and cups- Blue Ridge took care of them as if they were their own. Not one plate or cup was broken and we did not lose a single fork or knife. They also washed, cleaned and dried all the plates, cups, forks and knives too! On another note- one of the cooks took pictures of my husband and I before everyone came down for dinner. It was during a time when my husband and I were just being silly and did not know anyone was around us. The cook shared the pictures with my mom which was perfect! To this day, those pictures are my favorite. We can not say thank you enough to Blue Ridge and all the work they put into making our day special and perfect.

In addition to all of her help leading up to the wedding, the support from her and her staff during our wedding weekend was exceptional. Their organization, friendliness and attentiveness were just what we needed and I am sure it wouldn’t have been the same without them. We had Sue and her team cater for both our rehearsal dinner and reception. All of our guests enjoyed the food and service! We particularly liked the Southern Fried Chicken and Grilled Petit Tender offered by Chef Shawn. If you are still looking for a catering team in the Charlottesville area then don’t overlook Blue Ridge Catering! If we had to do this all over again then we would work with Sue and her team in a heartbeat!

For our wedding we opted to do breakfast for dinner and everyone was very pleased. We had bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, and fruit to eat and orange juice, tea, water and coffee to drink. They brought our food and drinks right to our venue, set up for us and allowed us to bring the chaffing dishes back the next day. We ended up having leftovers that we froze and continue to munch on and it's still so good over a week later! Sue was who I corresponded with and she worked very hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I wouldn't trade my experience with them for anything! I highly recommend considering the Blue Ridge Cafe for any event in the area!
