g, you should absolutely go with Blue Root! Blue Root should be viewed as the gold standard for wedding DJs! After shopping around a little, we eventually found Blue Root, which was reasonably priced and seemed to be a good candidate for being our DJ. During our initial call with Cleveland, he informed us that he had booked another wedding on the date of our wedding, and that our DJ would be his associate, Tree. He spoke highly of Tree, so we decided to move forward with hiring Blue Root. We also asked Cleveland if we could have a Sax player accompany the DJ, which, he said he would arrange. Leading up to the wedding, Cleveland checked in with us frequently. We also had calls with both Tree and Cleveland, who were both eager to get to know us and gain an understanding of the vision for our wedding. It was clear from the start that both Cleveland and Tree cared deeply about their clients, and that they were very interested in our wedding being a success. They were also positive, energetic and gave off great vibes. They sent over a thorough but easy to fill-out form so that they had an understanding of the run of show for the ceremony and reception and knew which songs to play at various parts. On the day of the wedding Tree showed up several hours before the ceremony to check in with us and set up the sound systems (they provided sound coverage for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception). The sound for the ceremony and music for the cocktail hour was seamless. During the reception, Tree did an excellent job at coordinating the introductions and ensuring that the first dance and speeches went smoothly. And then, after dinner, Tree got the party started and it didn’t stop. Between the excellent music selection (which incorporated our preferred songs) and the energy of the sax player, we and many of our guests were dancing all night. Tree did a great job of mixing up genres to accommodate all of our guests. We had never been to a wedding where that many people stayed on the dance floor for that long. If you’re looking for your wedding to be the best wedding you’ve ever been to, choose Blue Root as your DJ (and we’d recommend hiring a sax player too, if you can) and it will go a long way for you to achieve that!

when I talked to Cleveland on the phone, who was so transparent about pricing and inclusions that I knew this would be a vendor who completely eliminated the stress of the day. Cleveland made it clear their team had the expertise to equip our venue with sound and light despite our venue's relatively numerous locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Howard was our day of DJ and our friends are still talking about what an awesome job he did. He kept the party flowing and had a natural sense of how to get people back on the dance floor. Cleveland and Howard are both complete professionals and I would use them again in a heartbeat. I recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ for any occasion!

to entertainment. My husband and I selected our wedding venue in Philadelphia, PA, about two hours away from our home in New York. We had no idea where to start with regard to selecting vendors for our wedding and looked to our venue for recommendations. The venue recommended Blue Root Entertainment and, boy, was it a great recommendation. After our initial phone call with Cleveland, we were sold. His professionalism, kindness, and all-around great personality made it incredibly easy to work with him. He was even able to help us navigate roadblocks that we encountered in selecting particular songs for our big day. The entertainment portion of our wedding went flawlessly. From the ceremony to the reception, Cleveland did not miss a beat. Everyone loved the music played and danced the night away once the dance floor opened up. Cleveland not only incorporated our playlist into the evening’s music, but he also was spot on in selecting music that was not recommended by us to play. Several times throughout the evening, my husband and I would stop when hearing a random songs Cleveland played and wonder how he knew to play a particular song because it had great significance to us and/or our families. The only downside to all of this is that we have no other events to hire Cleveland and Blue Root Entertainment for. It was an absolute pleasure working with Cleveland and we really hope that one day we will cross paths with him or his team and be able to work with them again.

d as a stressful DJ search ended with a night full of dancing! Some things that stood out to us were: - How organized and attentive he was. He scheduled multiple calls with us in order to understand our vibe and make sure that all the music was perfect for our wedding day. - He gave us tips and tricks of things to expect on our wedding day. - He is proficient in a ton of different genres which is helpful when you're having a wedding with two very different families. During our prep calls, he gave us a heads up on how he would navigate different music tastes. - He was one of the only DJs that had long mixes on Soundcloud so you could hear his work. Other DJs would show us short grainy videos they took from the DJ booth as "work samples". The icing on the cake was that he provided us with any videos and pictures he took during the day. He was capturing some promo material and provided it to us which was extremely kind. If you're looking for a DJ, Cleveland is your guy.
