Our wedding theme, classic with a modern edge and a neutral palette, was perfectly embodied in the stunning 3-tier cake that Heather crafted for us. What set Blue Thistle apart was Heather's collaborative approach and willingness to bring our vision to life. We ended up choosing four flavors – Red Velvet with whipped white chocolate Oreo buttercream, Dark Chocolate with whipped chocolate Reese's cup buttercream, Fresh Lemon Poppy Seed with honey ginger buttercream, and Tender Vanilla Butter with fresh strawberry compote and whipped white chocolate strawberry buttercream. Each flavor was a showstopper in its own right. Being someone with a family culinary heritage, the cake was a priority for me, and Heather exceeded all expectations. We had quite a few no-shows to our reception and it didn’t occur to us to be upset— more cake for us, right? Heather was truly a gem to work with and was always available for my (many) questions and changes to our quote. Additionally, ALL of our vendors were so excited to hear we had booked her for our wedding. Each of them raved about her talent, professionalism, and personality, as well as the cake. We would book Heather again in a heartbeat (and you should too)!

We ordered the Cosmos and the Peony with blackberries for our Halloween wedding and our guests still haven't stopped raving about how good it all was! There was hardly a crumb left by the end of the night even with the extra we ordered for our cake-crazy family. Heather was also super accommodating for our anniversary cake this year as we had opted not to save cake during the wedding, although she had wonderful resources on how to do that as well. She was very responsive and worked with our schedules so we could pick up our anniversary cake in time. I can confirm her cake is worth a road trip! You will not regret booking her for your event!

Heather is also one of the biggest hype girls you will ever meet! No matter what is going on in her life both personally and professionally, she manages to put clients above herself and ensure they are happy beyond belief! She is selfless and talented! I had a vision for my wedding! I send a multitude of photos, details and fabric swatches her way and she completely exceeded my vision with gold stars! She collaborated with me and dreamt up the perfect cake masterpiece! To the point, where I actually cried (happy tears of course) when I saw it on my wedding day! Every piece of cake that was cut, was gone instantly! Guests raved about it! There was one flavor I particularly enjoyed that didn't make it into our final cake, so my husband contacted Heather separately to make me a mini cake of that flavor to surprise me on our wedding day. I later learned she did this at no charge which we thought was SO sweet!! I was very happy!! All of our guests commented on how great the cake was. We couldn't have been more pleased with the flavors, look, and professionalism of Blue Thistle. Highly recommend!
