I learned about this band through a friend, and went to their local showcase and knew we had to hire them. It was great to have an option for how many members to hire. The band coordinator was super helpful and kind guiding me during the planning, and the music the day of was amazing!
It was the most raved about part of the whole event, people mostly commented about the band and what fun it was. Definitely go to their showcases and hire them if you can!!
We booked Blue Wave Band to play the reception at our wedding this spring. I had seen them perform before at a wedding in Seattle and was blown away by how good they were, but knowing that it's a large collective of musicians I was curious who we would get for our wedding. Needless to say we weren't disappointed; the band was fantastic! They had a great setlist based on artist suggestions from us, including playing a mellower set during dinner, and even played the father/daughter dance song live. We also booked a sound system for the ceremony through them, and had the band MC the reception. Everything went extremely smoothly and we got tons of compliments from guests. I would highly recommend them for any event you're considering!
We hired Blue Wave Band for our daughter’s wedding on 6/1/24. We had a keyboardist play the music during the wedding and a 6-piece band for the reception. We also rented their Photo Booth. All I can say is that the band BLEW AWAY my expectations. They were sensational. Our family & friends raved about them. Many said this was the best wedding they had ever attended, and I give a lot of the credit for that to Blue Wave Band. Marc was so pleasant & easy to work with. I cant recommend them enough! Book them fast!

If you are getting married and need live music, this is the band! They were incredible. From the ease of planning the event, to helping with lighting, MC, sounds for both events, and to the live music at the reception itself, Blue Wave Band could not have done a better job! The organization of planning was top notch. The talent of the band is even better. I do not think I have witnessed as talented musicians at a reception before. They are all extremely gifted musicians and the band itself is amazing.

Marc is so communicative and amazing from start to finish! They have a great system to make sure they ask all the questions and deliver exactly what you want. We hired them for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. My biggest regret of the day was not having them play longer! The band is extremely talented and plays all the hits. The more pieces the better! The price was right, customer service impeccable and final product amazing! So many people complimented the band and had so much fun on our dance floor. Wish we could do it again...

Everything about the Blue Wave Band came off spectacularly at my Son’s wedding. It was exactly the live music experience that they hoped for to make the evening very special and memorable. We hired the Blue Wave Band (5 musicians) for our wedding of 75 guests and they rocked the house! Every single one of our guests were dancing the entire time and it made the night so so special for us. We would highly recommend and if I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!
The Blue Wave Band just played at my daughter's wedding in Sunriver, OR. They exceeded my expectations in every way. Marc is very organized and detailed. He works with you ahead of time to get everything nailed down. They did the PA system for the outside ceremony and then used our playlist for the cocktail hour. Sarah MC'd the reception and was flawless. By the time the reception started, I know there planning was great but once they started playing, their musicianship blew us all away. They can play just about anything and play it well. I lost count of how many people told me they were "the best wedding band I've ever heard." If I had another wedding to plan I would not hesitate to book them - in fact I'd go as far as to check with them to make sure they are available before picking a date.
This wedding band is the absolute BEST and they know how to throw an amazing party! We and all our guests were raving about the band. They have such amazing talent and made the party incredible.

Marc and the Blue Wave Band were AMAZING! From the initial outreach all the way to the final song of the night, it was an incredible experience and they truly made our wedding day the best day ever. So easy to coordinate with and get on the same page for how we envisioned the event going... which for us was incredibly helpful because these guys are pros and know how to get the group dancing and grooving. The MC service was seamless, the music was awesome, and they played a wide array of hits from oldies to popular crowd-pleasers. Couldn't recommend enough to make sure you have the best wedding day possible! 10/10.
The Blue Wave Band was fantastic- the 7-piece ensemble got everyone out on the dance floor and kept them there! While they get very busy over the wedding season, they always responded to my communications, met our song/style requests, and also allowed me to step in and play my saxophone with them for one song, which made me feel like a rockstar. Probably the best money I spent on any vendor.
AMAZING! If you are looking for a band for your wedding/event, these are the people! Marc was so helpful along the way and the group that came out to play for both the ceremony (live guitar) and reception (4 piece band including vocal) were phenomenal and incredibly sweet! Guests raved about them and I am so happy to have had them help make our big day so special! I really can’t say enough about Blue Wave Band and I would without a doubt go with them again if given an opportunity!

Our guests and us absolutely adored the band. They did such a great job with all sorts of genres (funk, slow songs, jazz, pop music). The Blue Wave Band truly made our wedding day. We had said from the beginning the thing we were both most excited for was the band, and they did not disappoint. From start to finish, Marc and the crew were amazing to work with. They were extremely accommodating and focused on making their structure and style work for you. We had the best freakin time and so did all of our guests—from great grand children to getting my great grandma out on the dance floor. They loved it. We could not have imagined having more fun—wish we could go back and do it all again with the Blue Wave Band!

The Blue Wave Band was exactly what we were hoping for when we booked live music for our outdoor wedding at Skamania Lodge. We were looking for a live jazzy/bluesy feel for the night, and they hit it out of the park, with drums, sax, bass, and keyboard. They allowed us to swap in additional instrumentation as we got closer to the wedding, and offered MC service + mics for the ceremony itself. We had 2 calls with them beforehand, and were also able to provide custom ceremony entrance and exit music. They were a blast during the reception, and everyone was talking about how great the music was throughout (and well after) the event. It was worth the splurge to have Blue Wave Band join us, and honestly, it wasn't even as costly as I thought live music might be. If you're looking for live music, I highly recommend their group.

Blue Wave did an absolutely outstanding job at our wedding! My family, friends, and I absolutely love dancing and live music, and these guys are GOOD! Every artist was so talented and friendly, and the songs were perfect selections for our group. My only regret is that we couldn't have kept dancing for many more hours!! The emcee did a fantastic job of introducing people and guiding the reception events, and was flexible to impromptu changes in the timeline.
The planning process was incredibly smooth and thorough; Marc was very responsive, organized and detailed and took to heart all of my requests and preferences.
Overall, couldn't be happier with our choice to book Blue Wave Band!! If you want to guarantee a packed dance floor with your favorite tunes, I recommend booking them too!

We spent a lot of time researching live bands, but Blue Wave was the perfect fit for our wedding! My spouse and I found ourselves singing and dancing along the second we heard their demo songs. We had never been to a wedding with a live band, and we are SO glad we decided on Blue Wave Band.
The coordinator was very communicative and detailed, and their online planning portal was a great tool to get us all on the same page. We hired a 5-piece band for our wedding. The band was extremely flexible and moved around the venue with us:
- During cocktail hour we had a 4-piece instrumental band. The volume was perfect and the band members interacted with each other enthusiastically, which fit the vibe of the space as guests mingled and talked.
- For the ceremony, we asked to have one acoustic guitarist play as we and our guests walked in. We didn’t request any specific songs, and the musician played at the perfect tempo and volume, and with one nod from our officiant, the guitarist elegantly wrapped up the song. It was flawless.
- For formal dancing, we had the whole 5-piece band. We requested a song for our first dance that wasn’t in their queue of known songs, so we were beyond thrilled when they played it live - it was such a special moment for us. We requested a few songs for the night, but we put the ball in their court to pick the whole lineup - again, it was flawless. They had all of our guests on the dance floor… nobody wanted to stop dancing even after the last song - that’s how much fun we were having!
Overall, this was one of the BEST aspects of our entire wedding. Our guests are still telling us how much they loved the music and ambiance, and that’s attributed to Blue Wave Band!

As a wedding planner I have been hiring musicians for my couple's weddings for over twelve years and I only works with the best, most professional and most talented there is! Whether it is the entire a band or a solo artist, The Blue Wave Band always arrives early, is professional and never fails to perform to perfection! I highly recommend them for ceremony or reception music...or better yet, both!
From the very beginning our main goal was to have a party our friends and family would remember... The Blue Wave Band MADE the party.
We went with the 10-piece band and have zero regrets. Loved having the brass especially. And our main vocalist was on FIRE. I didn't catch her name, but please let her know people couldn't believe how good she was.
We are still getting compliments 6 months out. The dance floor was packed all night. Oh and the MC service was great too!
They also coordinated strings for our ceremony and an instrumental band for our welcome event.

We hired blue wave for our big day and I couldn’t have more than amazing things to say about them. We went with the 8 piece band and they truly blew all of our expectations out of the water. They flowed perfectly from song to song covering all of the hits including the Jewish Hora for our chair celebration. Every inch of the dance floor was full the entire reception! 6 weeks later and we are still getting compliments about how amazing the band was and how much fun they brought to the party. Don’t hesitate, hire them!
This group is top notch. They are excellent at communicating and working with you prior to the wedding. Blue Wave Band brings professionalism and a fantastic performance to the event. Someone just texted me out of the blue after almost two years since my wedding to tell me how much they loved everything about it, but that they really loved the band!
It made me so happy and then I realized that I never wrote a review and so here I am almost two years after the wedding telling you that you can't go wrong and that you should definitely get some horns too.
Our wedding wasn't easy to get to and on top of it we broke records for rain (in Oregon!) and Blue Wave Band crushed it. I am so thankful that we trusted our gut.
My husbands one requirement for the wedding was having a band rather than a dj. After looking at many reviews and speaking with Blue Wave we decided to hire the 8 person set plus having a string trio play during the ceremony. They were everything we wanted and more. They kept everyone on the dance floor all night and sounded amazing. All our guests were super impressed with their performance. Do yourself a favor and hire them- you will not regret it.
Wow... we couldn't be happier with our decision to hire the Blue Wave Band. Music is a huge part of our lives, and we wanted a soundtrack for our wedding day from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to dinner music to dance party. BWB delivered on all fronts!
First, the entire booking process was easy and pleasant. I sent my brother to one of their showcases, and he said they were amazing live. After that, I put down my deposit and the team helped me craft the perfect day. All the logistics like wireless mics, ceremony music, MC flow, special songs, first dances...break playlists. They thought of everything and allowed you to be in control of the major cues, but then also read the crowd and played songs they could tell would be a hit.
Everyone commented on how amazing the band was, and how seamlessly the entire evening unfolded. Yes, we did a lot of pre-planning to get the schedule perfect, but BWB executed flawlessly. I'd hire them again in a second, and don't think any wedding from here on out will be able to top this one!

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Blue Wave Band was amazing! I had multiple people tell me they were the best wedding band they'd ever heard. They were so fun, talented and professional. They played all of the songs we wanted them to play. I would highly recommend them.
Trent was super fast responding to emails which made us feel well taken care of, and we were able to go to a showcase ahead of time to see the caliber of musicians. The band portal page was easy to use, and having a pre-wedding phone call to nail down all of the details was great.
The band was awesome! They were so talented, and the dance floor was packed for the entire reception. We especially liked that they paid close attention to our song preferences. They basically played everything on our list. The band really went above and beyond. They lent us a guitar for a friend to play during our ceremony, they asked if they could play through a scheduled break to keep the dance party going, and they played an extra song after 10pm when our guests chanted for "one more song"!
We've been recommending them to everyone we know!
Blue Wave Band was the best part of our wedding (besides getting married of course)! They played all the music we requested and did it spot on! They were flexible with working with our venue and making adjustments day of. Nate the MC was funny and personable. He kept the party going and made great transitions and introductions for speeches. Without a doubt the best wedding band I've ever heard- and so fun to have that be the case at our own wedding! We were thrilled with every part of the process of working with Blue Wave Band. Pretty much our entire 180-person wedding was up dancing -- such talented musicians, and so much fun!
This band was the highlight of our day! David their manager was great to work with throughout the planning process; always responded promptly, kindly & was very helpful! Blue Wave Band was fantastic! We were able to watch one of their showcases and decided to book them after seeing how talented the musicians were. The Blue Wave Band was truly one of the highlights of our wedding. We were so impressed at their showcase session that we decided to hire a 7 piece band, complete with trombone and saxophone. They brought the house down. The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone had a great time. We also used the guitarist and female vocalist, Tristan, for the ceremony. Tristan learned a difficult new song for us on very short notice and did a wonderful job. David was easy to work with and responsive within a timely manner. The website they set up for our event was a very helpful thing to have. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Lots of fun, very talented, professional and affordable.
Blue Wave totally made the reception: the song choices were excellent, the musicians superb and, to top it off, the band members were so so nice! Everyone was on the dance floor all evening, from the 3-year-old ringbearer to the 80+ year old grandma. We sang and sweated and had the best time. We could have gone the inexpensive route and had a DJ but I'm glad my husband insisted on live music. Thank you Blue Wave: you were the best investment and made such great memories for us!!
David and the band was the easiest and best decision my husband and I made. David is a true professional, and easy to work with. I felt at ease right from the start. He was available to chat any time I had questions and then a week before, we had an hour + conversation discussing our vision for the day. He truly delivered. They had the entire wedding out on the dance floor from start to finish. It was so much fun! I had them MC the wedding too and they kept everything running smoothly. If you're on the fence...just do it! Highly recommend!
I'd like to think that my wedding reception would've been fun no matter what, but I have to admit that the Blue Wave Band's music really transformed the night into a special party!! Wedding guests of all ages danced alongside my husband and myself during all the dance sets! The night culminated in guests requesting an encore, which the musicians generously granted. Multiple wedding attendees commented that the band played the best wedding music they'd ever heard. The Blue Wave Band's broad range of music genres lends itself to a wedding reception because the band ends up playing a variety of songs that cater to different tastes. My husband and I particularly appreciated that the band learned new songs for our first dances--their version of "La Bamba" was even better than that of Richie Valens, I think! In addition to playing great music, the Blue Wave Band provided our acoustic wedding ceremony music, a sound system for the ceremony, and MC service. The MC was very conscientious of our planned wedding schedule and always checked in with me before making little adjustments. All band members were extremely friendly and professional during the entire process. In addition to their stellar performance, the Blue Wave Band's online platform for wedding planning facilitated creating a master schedule and communicating details. If I were to plan my wedding again, I would definitely invite the Blue Wave Band to play!
My husband and I booked Blue Wave on a whim for our wedding about 2 weeks before the big day. We were on a tight budget and initially didn’t plan for live music for our small (25 guest) destination wedding in Washington. After reading so many fantastic reviews we decided to go for it and honestly it was one of the best decisions we made.
David and his team were so helpful and accommodating. Our wedding was very laid back so our " wedding timeline" was pretty loosely structured - Blue Wave remained flexible the whole night and helped keep things flowing so nicely. We had a limited budget so we choose the 3 piece band for our small 26 guest wedding. I was a little hesitant at first, worrying that the 3 piece may not be able to provide us with the song selection we were looking for since you have limited instruments. That was not the case AT ALL.
It's a month later and our guests are STILL raving about how fantastic and fun the band was. If you're on the fence about booking a band don't look further, you won't be disappointed with Blue Wave.

If you are reading this review and contemplating whether or not to have a band at your wedding and if it's worth the cost, take my word for it and BOOK THEM. My (now) husband and I were wavering and almost went with a DJ due to the cost of a live band. Luckily we took a moment to revisit our vision and how WE wanted to be represented on our big day. We bit the bullet and booked the Blue Wave Band. Other than marrying my husband, this was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding (hands down). Our guests didn't sit the entire night. A song would end and everyone would turn to get a drink, grab a piece of cake or sit down and the next song would come on and you couldn't not stay and dance. Moreover, I talked with the band manager a few times leading up to the wedding. I told him what my first dance song was and to play music people loved to dance to. That was it. By far the easier planning/prep when it came to my wedding. After our wedding, every person we talked to, first and foremost, commented on the band (before the food, venue, my dress, the weather, etc.). If you can afford them, book them. If you can't, cut corners somewhere else and book them.
The best of the best! If you are looking for a great band for your wedding, this is it. We have worked with Blue Wave Band for multiple weddings as the coordinator and are always impressed. They can get anyone out on the dance floor - parents, grandparents, everyone - and will keep the festivities going. They are professional, well organized and great to work with!
They were easy to work with, and they sounded fantastic. More people danced than I expected, and lots of people came up to me afterward to say how much they enjoyed the music.
Blue Wave Band absolutely exceeded my expectations. This band is absolutely incredible! We hired them to play at our winery wedding and they literally had all of our guests on their feet dancing. People cheered for them to do an encore. If you want to have a great band for a special event - hire them today. I encourage horns, its makes all the difference!
We booked Blue Wave Band for our wedding reception and they were worth every penny. We had the wedding ceremony and reception at the bride's childhood home, and the band was very flexible playing in relatively tight conditions and outdoors (since the weather permitted). They were also able to split up the playing time between a smaller light instrumental jazz set played during dinner and a larger big-band type experience for dancing. Everyone was blown away when it came time for the dancing. There's really no substitute for live music, and they did not disappoint. They got people dancing who, in their own words, "do not typically dance at weddings but the music was too good not to." We also had some unexpected health issues come up during the wedding and the band was great about being flexible around this and also was instrumental in keeping the party spirit going. Will book them again.
You know you picked a good band when multiple guests comment to you that they are KILLING IT. Blue Wave was one of our biggest wedding splurges, but they were worth every penny. They kept the dance floor full during every single dance session, were the best MCs we could have asked for, knew exactly how to read the crowd, and were very accommodating with impromptu requests. My brother had already been scheduled to sing a song with the band, but our guests loved it so much that we asked if he could sing another. Blue Wave agreed and even provided backup vocals for his second number.
One of my favorite parts of the night: we asked the band to learn the Game of Thrones theme as our entrance to dinner. Their rendition turned out so much better than we could have imagined. We can't wait to get our hands on the recording so we can soak it all in again.
If you live in the Seattle or Portland area, I'd highly recommend checking out one of their free demo nights. You'll want to book them on the spot. An incredible experience from the day we selected them to the night they performed at our daughter's wedding in Mt Hood, Oregon. Very professional, extremely organized from the contract to the very unique band planning page - nothing was left to chance. We received plenty of advice and were given lots of flexibility (the groom's friend played for all 3 first dances using the band's sound equipment). The MC kept the night flowing and the music kept our guests dancing until the last note. If we lived on the west coast, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again. There isn't a music genre that they cannot play and they can provide up to 12 musicians if needed. Their talent is only surpassed by their ability to take care of the whole process - we never had any questions, because everything was presented from the beginning - timeline, contact info, schedule of songs...if it pertained to a wedding, they had it covered. I did all the research, so you don't have to - book Blue Wave Band and enjoy your wedding without a worry!
Blue Wave Band is comprised of an impressive group of very talented, professional musicians. They worked hard to deliver a polished performance and simply CRUSHED the wedding. The band's performance throughout the evening was perfect in every respect, professional and energetic. The playlist was impressive, moving seamlessly across decades and genres of music. The wedding crowd was dazzled and many people commented afterwards on how the band had elevated what already was a great wedding, and took it over the top.
The group's coordinating member, David Dawda, was terrific to work with. He listened carefully to requests we made, tracked details, stayed on top of things, and -- in the end -- delivered exactly what was promised. Blue Wave Band gets 5 stars and a solid and unqualified endorsement and recommendation.

Of course a live band will be more expensive than a DJ, but these guys MC'd our reception, gave an AWESOME show for our energetic dance-crazy guests, and just a few weeks before the wedding arranged for their keyboardist to play traditional Norwegian music with my fiance's uncle on the violin for our wedding ceremony.
We would book them again in a heartbeat. All of our guests (including some who play instruments themselves) were raving about them. Fantastic job!

Blue Wave Band is an exceptionally talented and versatile band, and you shouldn't hesitate to hire them. They also run a good business thoughtfully oriented around how clients consider and hire bands. They have open practice performances once a month as a way for you to see them in action, and they showcase different permutations of numbers and instruments so you can get a sense of many different combinations and what might be right for your event. Then when you work on planning, it's easy to coordinate with them on all the details with the customized prep webpage they create for you. They'll work with you on music style selections but you should also trust their judgment to run a good show in an agile fashion, so you won't want to micromanage down to the exact song list. But if you have specific favorites (or "pet hates") they'll definitely work those in (or out). They're also willing to learn one new piece for free, which we used towards our first dance to make it truly special. Our guests loved them, we loved them, and they'd be a smart, energetic and upbeat choice for any wedding or party!
They are incredible!!!! We found them online and were so pleased with their professionalism, that we could come in and listen to them perform before booking and with their responsiveness and ease along the way. They did an incredible job and truly made our wedding that much more special by being a part of it. Every one of our guests has raved about them!!! They are totally worth every penny. We had a piano player for the ceremony, a trio for cocktail hour and then went with the 8 piece band for the ceremony and also had them MC the event. Amazing!!
Wowza! What a party-maker! BWB = the best! Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the band. We had a five-piece band for 5 hours. So much energy going between the band and the crazy fun guests we had cuttin' it up on the dance floor. The band was great about working with our day-of-coordinator to take breaks and announce toasts. We worked with Brian and David to book the band. They set up a webpage for your to fill our details, music preferences, timeline, etc., and it made it really easy to trust that the band would play what we like while still giving them the freedom to read the crowd and the mood and make their own set lists. Having BWB really took our wedding celebration up a notch! Thank you!
We also hired a violin-cello duet for the ceremony. They were great! We chose our processional and recessional songs from their song list and gave some genre likes for the music played while guests entered and exited. We had an outdoor ceremony and the simple and beautiful duet was just the ticket. Thank you!
The band was phenomenal. Their pre-wedding prep was minimal (I was in charge of all band stuff for my wedding, so I was the only person working with them) but sufficient, their forms for making the music and night perfect were handy and easy to fill out, their day-of needs were really easy and quick, and then their energy throughout the night was really perfect, and made our event that much better.
I really don't have anything but glowingly positive things to say about the band, from booking to prep to performance, it was far less stress and far more reward than I was expecting.
Blue Wave did a fabulous job at our wedding. Their musicians are extremely talented! They kept the dance floor packed the entire night. They were our splurge for the wedding and totally worth it!

These guys were so amazing at our September wedding on Orcas Island! Working with them beforehand was a breeze and they rocked the reception. The dance floor was packed! It was wonderful that we were able to view them at their showcase prior to booking the band. We were able to see the band configuration and type of music each artist played/sang, and then we requested a few specific members which allowed flexibility in song requests. People were on the dance floor the entire evening. My husband was in a wedding band so was very picky about this portion of the wedding planning, and he was so happy with the result! I absolutely LOVED the Blue Wave Band!! They were so incredibly talented and unbelievably fun, I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone! Kevin was fantastic to deal with in the lead up to our wedding, he was super organised and we never felt like we had to worry about anything. We got to go and see the band and meet him before we booked them, they were so great and they left us with every confidence that they would be amazing on the day. We paid a little bit extra and our singer arrived early to perform acoustic music at the ceremony before the rest of the band showed up for our reception. ALL of our guests were asking us all night long asking who the band were. Blue Wave Band we cant thank you enough!! We hope to see you again at all our friends weddings coming up!
