We hired Blue Wave Band for our wedding at Columbia Gorge Hotel a couple weeks ago, and they were phenomenal! Initially, we had a few concerns after seeing some recent negative reviews online, but once we reached out to our main contact, Marc, he quickly put our minds at ease and addressed everything with professionalism and care.
The music throughout the evening was perfect. The classy trio set the tone during cocktail hour, and the full band brought incredible energy to the reception with every classic wedding song—they had everyone on their feet and raving! We even requested that they learn "Mr. Brightside," and watching everyone jump and dance during the last song was unforgettable—a true core memory.
To wrap up the night, Marc DJ’d inside the hotel ballroom, and the vibe was just like a college frat party from 2012, which was exactly what we had envisioned. Every detail exceeded our expectations, and I couldn't imagine a better atmosphere for our celebration.

A subset of grievances include: 1) Telling us on the morning of our wedding (!!) they would no longer play music before the processional (as simple as playing a playlist), unless we would pay additional fees, citing a new policy around hours worked. This was despite the fact they were already paid to run the ceremony sound system, had the wedding timeline weeks prior, and had agreed to do this. 2) Failing to play music in the recessional (and when asked, instead played music saved for our dances and cake cutting). 3) Refusing to do our announcement (citing similar policies around hours, again, not in the contract). 4) Botching the start of the dancing for which our extended family of 40+ people had practiced a choreographed dance, by failing to do something as simple as loading the right song on Spotify that we had sent the link to. While the band itself did a good job, it's difficult to overcome the professionalism. We cannot recommend Blue Wave under any circumstance.

. Didn't happen! From communication at the start of planning to and including day of 10 minutes prior to the ceremony, the lack of professionalism in communication was very, very, poor. Our wedding planner was called at 1130 pm the night before the wedding saying they wouldn't be there if a contract wasn't returned. We had never received it!!! Follow up was nil. Sent music lists with links was "lost", added expenses were not clear or explained. We had numerous emails after the event to learn why this all happened. Marc had excuses and passed the blame. The day was a mess and didn't flow because of the sound and musicians. The happy hour prior to dinner was a joke. And the DJ, spent more time indoors than coaxing dance on the floor! I would NOT recommend them for a wedding. You will certainly be happier and safer with someone else. Sadly I cannot recommend them.

They had a great setlist based on artist suggestions from us, including playing a mellower set during dinner, and even played the father/daughter dance song live. We also booked a sound system for the ceremony through them, and had the band MC the reception. Everything went extremely smoothly and we got tons of compliments from guests. By the time the reception started, I know there planning was great but once they started playing, their musicianship blew us all away. They can play just about anything and play it well. I lost count of how many people told me they were "the best wedding band I've ever heard." If I had another wedding to plan I would not hesitate to book them - in fact I'd go as far as to check with them to make sure they are available before picking a date.

They allowed us to swap in additional instrumentation as we got closer to the wedding, and offered MC service + mics for the ceremony itself. We had 2 calls with them beforehand, and were also able to provide custom ceremony entrance and exit music. They were a blast during the reception, and everyone was talking about how great the music was throughout (and well after) the event. It was worth the splurge to have Blue Wave Band join us, and honestly, it wasn't even as costly as I thought live music might be. If you're looking for live music, I highly recommend their group.

The coordinator was very communicative and detailed, and their online planning portal was a great tool to get us all on the same page. We hired a 5-piece band for our wedding. The band was extremely flexible and moved around the venue with us:
- During cocktail hour we had a 4-piece instrumental band. The volume was perfect and the band members interacted with each other enthusiastically, which fit the vibe of the space as guests mingled and talked.
- For the ceremony, we asked to have one acoustic guitarist play as we and our guests walked in. We didn’t request any specific songs, and the musician played at the perfect tempo and volume, and with one nod from our officiant, the guitarist elegantly wrapped up the song. It was flawless.
- For formal dancing, we had the whole 5-piece band. We requested a song for our first dance that wasn’t in their queue of known songs, so we were beyond thrilled when they played it live - it was such a special moment for us. We requested a few songs for the night, but we put the ball in their court to pick the whole lineup - again, it was flawless. They had all of our guests on the dance floor… nobody wanted to stop dancing even after the last song - that’s how much fun we were having!
Overall, this was one of the BEST aspects of our entire wedding. Our guests are still telling us how much they loved the music and ambiance, and that’s attributed to Blue Wave Band!

First, the entire booking process was easy and pleasant. I sent my brother to one of their showcases, and he said they were amazing live. After that, I put down my deposit and the team helped me craft the perfect day. All the logistics like wireless mics, ceremony music, MC flow, special songs, first dances...break playlists. They thought of everything and allowed you to be in control of the major cues, but then also read the crowd and played songs they could tell would be a hit.
Everyone commented on how amazing the band was, and how seamlessly the entire evening unfolded. Yes, we did a lot of pre-planning to get the schedule perfect, but BWB executed flawlessly. I'd hire them again in a second, and don't think any wedding from here on out will be able to top this one!

The band was awesome! They were so talented, and the dance floor was packed for the entire reception. We especially liked that they paid close attention to our song preferences. They basically played everything on our list. The band really went above and beyond. They lent us a guitar for a friend to play during our ceremony, they asked if they could play through a scheduled break to keep the dance party going, and they played an extra song after 10pm when our guests chanted for "one more song"!
