he contract to attempt to charge additional fees. A subset of grievances include: 1) Telling us on the morning of our wedding (!!) they would no longer play music before the processional (as simple as playing a playlist), unless we would pay additional fees, citing a new policy around hours worked. This was despite the fact they were already paid to run the ceremony sound system, had the wedding timeline weeks prior, and had agreed to do this. 2) Failing to play music in the recessional (and when asked, instead played music saved for our dances and cake cutting). 3) Refusing to do our announcement (citing similar policies around hours, again, not in the contract). 4) Botching the start of the dancing for which our extended family of 40+ people had practiced a choreographed dance, by failing to do something as simple as loading the right song on Spotify that we had sent the link to. While the band itself did a good job, it's difficult to overcome the professionalism. We cannot recommend Blue Wave under any circumstance.

big and diverse setlist which is something important to us when we picked because of the diversity of our guests. There are also different options for instruments/band size to match the band to the venue size as well. We love the brass section and that several of the musicians would also sing as well. We had a couple meetings beforehand to really tailor the setlist to our group and they also learned some special song requests that we really wanted at the wedding. High energy, diverse setlist, super talented, and easy to work with. Would book again!!

We’d seen them several times before the wedding at the Sea Monster Lounge, and that made all the difference. We were able to choose songs we’d already seen them play live — especially some more current stuff — which gave us total confidence that they could pull it off with style. Spoiler alert: they *did*, and then some. We gave them just one rule: no "YMCA" — and they delivered a night full of high-energy, recognizable bangers that kept the vibe alive all night long. They also went above and beyond by adjusting their set on the fly. Instead of the originally planned three shorter sets, they played two longer ones because the energy was just too good to stop. It kept the party flowing, and we loved that they were flexible and in tune with the crowd. If you're looking for a band that knows how to read the room, bring the party, and absolutely *own the night*, look no further. They made our wedding unforgettable! 🎶🔥🕺💃

Planning a wedding, especially at a unique venue like the Space Needle, can be daunting, but Annie and her team made the music aspect completely stress-free and utterly memorable. Annie was incredibly helpful in designing the perfect musical lineup for our special day. She listened attentively to our vision and curated a selection of musicians that perfectly matched the vibe we were aiming for. The acoustic ceremony renditions of Jack Johnson's "Better Together" and Maggie Rogers' "Love You For A Long Time" were simply breathtaking. Their performance was heartfelt and beautifully executed, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The transition to the trio (singer, bass, and guitar) for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing was seamless. They provided the perfect blend of classy, timeless music with a touch of modern pop hits, ensuring everyone, from our youngest to our oldest guests, enjoyed themselves. The energy was fantastic, and the music flowed effortlessly throughout the evening. What truly set Blue Wave Band apart was their professionalism and attention to detail. Annie’s thorough explanation of each step in the process was incredibly reassuring, and their ability to handle the logistical challenges of a Space Needle wedding was remarkable. They arrived and set up promptly, ensuring everything was perfect for our guests’ arrival. We received endless compliments from our guests, many of whom declared it was the best wedding band performance they had ever heard. The band’s talent, versatility, and professionalism were evident in every song they played. If you’re looking for a band that can provide a sophisticated, engaging, and unforgettable musical experience, Blue Wave Band is an absolute must-hire. They exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are incredibly grateful for their contribution to our perfect wedding day. Highly recommended!

the band was! They got the party started, kept it going, and really engaged with guests. Throughout first dances, I could give a little nod to the band and they knew to wrap it up, or move to the next song, they're very aware of the vibe of the crowd and help keep it pumped up! We didn't give very much guidance besides what songs we definitely didn't want and this band blew us out of the water. The first song they played post ceremony, was a transition of the song we walked down the aisle to. Completely unplanned or suggested by us, but an amazing touch by the band! Could not recommend them more, we're trying to find another party to throw to invite them back!

We went to their showcase about 8 months before our wedding and got a great preview of their talent and songs they can play, and we had a great time listening to live music. Then when we gained access to their portal, they made it simple enough to share our likes and dislikes and they were able to play most of the songs we requested! Finally, the last call we had with David to firm up all the details was very reassuring. We utilized their band for the reception and dancing, and had their guitarist play as we walked down the aisle. They were prepared, timely, and set an incredible tone for the specific moments. We couldn't recommend them enough!

g everyone to boogie! My wedding was no exception. I got so many compliments on the band and they definitely kept the party rocking. Unfortunately, my three star review comes from a terrible experience working with Marc. As instructed, I filled out the planning page well before our wedding date. But it seemed Marc had never gotten around to reading it, or didn’t read it very well. Despite spelling out me and my new husband’s last name phonetically and letting him know the correct pronunciation over the phone, he still managed to pronounce our last name incorrectly during our grand entrance. Our first dance song was listed on Blue Wave’s website as a song they know. However, during our final phone call, Marc informed me that the band didn’t know our actual first dance song and I had to relinquish the last song I had chosen. As a bride who had chosen her songs very carefully and intentionally for her wedding day, I was a bit sad but I asked Marc if they could play a specific song that me and my girls made memories together at my bachelorette party and he said he would make a note. The last song came and went but the song that I had requested (that the band already knew) wasn’t played. I went up to Marc and asked him “hey, you promised me this song and it wasn’t played.” Instead of apologizing, he went “well that was our last song and our time is up.” I left my wedding with a very bitter taste in my mouth. Truly not the way I pictured my otherwise perfect event to end. I understand noise laws but even a simple apology would have sufficed. If you don’t care about music and just want your family and friends to enjoy live music at your wedding by all means book Blue Wave. However, if you even want a tiny sliver of creative control, look elsewhere. After attempts to call BWB and smooth things over, I never got a response (I wasn’t even looking for a refund just an apology) which leaves me no choice to dock some stars. Truly not the way to do business!

d David a playlist of songs we wanted to hear the band play, and they absolutely nailed them. The singers belted it out, the guitar solos were phenomenal, the saxophone saxxed, and they all sounded great. We had an 8 piece band (with a trumpet and a saxophone) and we would highly recommend a band that big, such a full sound. Any songs that the band didn’t play were played from speakers and so we just kept dancing all night long. They also did a really good job of MCing, telling people when things were happening and where they needed to be. I can’t say that I’ve heard the other wedding bands in the Seattle area, but I can’t imagine any of them being better than Blue Wave Band. David even helped us pull off a surprise for the groom that was thought of about 2 weeks before our wedding. The band had no trouble changing up plans and was so easy to work with. Everyone was on the dance floor all night long and our guests have told us how much they loved Blue Wave Band! Blue Wave Band thank you for making our night perfect and our music magical. We have so many wonderful memories with our families and friends thanks to you!

hey really seemed to know how to get everybody dancing! They were also super easy to work with in the months leading up to our wedding and were able to play a couple of songs we specially requested. All in all, we loved the Blue Wave Band and are so happy we had them play at our big day!

every way from the time of arrival through the event and departure. “Nailed it” pretty much sums up the event from playing on cue, the processional, entrance and recessional songs. They went above and beyond to ensure our daughter, the bride, could walk down the aisle to a unique song called, One Summer’s Day from Spirited Away. It meant so much to her, the groom and our family. Thanks for making this day extra special.

I appreciated how they combined more modern songs with the classics and made the crowd feel very comfortable. The band manager was very professional and had very fast responses to emails and enquiries. All in all, a great night!

lue Wave for the ceremony music, cocktail hour, and the reception - they executed flawlessly and so many of our guests shared how great they were. During the reception, they kept the crowd energized and many of us danced until we had to leave, and we could tell they were having a great time performing for all of us too. We requested a few specific songs for our processional and recessional, and for our first dance - we really appreciated them being so flexible to our (somewhat obscure) song requests, and they did an amazing job for all of them. During planning, they were very communicative and wonderful to work with - they were always quick to respond to the many questions we had, and were willing to discuss and provide feedback when we weren't certain on some of our details. We'd love to work with them again and recommend them for anyone planning a party in the Pacific Northwest!

We started with a string quartet for the ceremony and we were able to proceed into the ceremony to some of our favorite songs played on the string instruments. They played great music for the cocktail hour and dinner, and played our requested songs for our first dances. Then it was time for them to shine during dancing. The dance party was absolutely epic and we had the best time ever. They struck the perfect balance between playing the classics and more recent hits. They also did a great job MCing throughout the evening and that made for a smooth run of show from beginning to end. Thank you Blue Wave Band!

They did an amazing job engaging our guests, not one song had people wandering. We smiled ear to ear and danced our faces off! Their planning portal is so organized and one reason, outside of just having such a fun team, that I think our wedding ran so smooth. We cannot thank them enough! s for your wedding music, we strongly suggest finding another band (especially for the cost). When looking for a wedding band, BWB seemed awesome, and the reviews online were nearly perfect. They have a relatively high-tech website and our point of contact, David, was more-or-less responsive. We were spending a lot of money on them (more than any other vendor) but we were ok with that because the music was really important to us, and they are a "premium" band. - For the ceremony: the string quartet that BWB provided played all three songs incorrectly; BWB provided a mic stand with a boom arm extension, which is obstructive for a wedding ceremony because it sticks out far forward (it interrupted our ‘I Do’s’); BWB put the mic stand in front of the altar and not on the altar, so our officiant had to move it up to the altar herself live, and it ended up being off-centered as a result - For cocktail hour: we walked out to join 30 min after cocktail hour began and didn’t see any of the horns that we requested - For the reception: we gave them clear instructions that they were to begin playing immediately after the speeches ended, but when the speeches ended at 8:55PM, the band was nowhere to be found, and they didn't start playing until 9:10PM; the band on several occasions awkwardly paused in between songs because they didn’t know what songs they were supposed to play, despite the fact that I had given them a list of songs weeks in advance, and I asked David for a set list a few weeks leading up to the wedding but he refused to provide one, saying “I don’t really have a full list since we’ll have a lot of singers with us (awesome!)”; the band leader harassed our DJ that she had played two of the band songs, but upon clarification, the band leader was mistaken - For the videography from BWB: the videographer failed to capture one of the three dances When I initially brought these issues up with David, I asked for our full tip amount back at the very least (we had already given the tip to the band in advance). He apologized for my unmet expectations, offered 40% back, and said that things were out of their control, claiming that the venue did not provide adequate dinner (why they were 15 minutes late to the stage) and that covid had caused last-minute substitutions (why they had multiple pauses). I responded saying I did not think that was fair. After back and forth, David revealed that the string arranger had in fact "missed the finer details" and that the videographer missed a dance because he “had a lot going on”, and that they were both sorry, but gave no other explanations for the other issues. He then agreed to refund the full tip amount (nothing more) and again apologized for my feelings. After we received this, I then made it very clear to David that I didn’t think that this was enough given their reputation and cost, and stated that if I were in his position, I would have offered a more significant refund given how much stress BWB caused us during our wedding and honeymoon. I told David that I was going to post this review online in 7 days unless they offered at least a 50% refund and to please let me know if anything is not accurate. He did not respond. UPDATED: Just lowered my rating to 1 star for the pathetic and false response below. Stay away.

ivate residence so there were a lot of unknowns and pre-planning that needed to happen. David always made us feel at ease and was available to chat on the phone whenever we needed. The band played everything we requested and read the room to always match the energy of the crowd. All of the musicians were extremely talented (we had an eight-piece) and sounded very tight playing together. Annie, the lead singer, was a knockout! The entire night went off without a hitch and we couldn't have been happier with our experience.

e stage presence is perfect. They know how to bring the party! We had members play during our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The ceremony was so special with acoustic guitar covers of songs of our choice played beautifully. The jazz trio was the perfect addition to the cocktail hour. Then they crushed it at our reception! Additional packages we had included MC services which was perfect for flow of our day- just enough to help facilitate when people should eat and when dances were. Where we really valued Blue Wave was their professionalism (particularly member RL) with managing last minute wedding issues with our venue. We had some unfortunate last minute curve balls from our wedding venue, but Blue Wave took the high road and the day went off without any issues- it was perfect! Aside from their incredible talents, their level of professionalism is priceless. I wish them nothing but the absolute best, they are a wonderful group of people.

Our guests loved them too and mentioned how great they were and how fun it was to have a live band. We would absolutely recommend them for any event!!

So, if you’re doing a corporate event and want a 4-person string quartet the musicians who will play your event will probably be different than if you requested a 20-person rock band with a full horn section for a gala. My husband and I booked a 5 piece rock/pop band for our June ’22 wedding and we worked with an amazing producer from the group named RL who was so easy to talk to, always responsive and just generally awesome. They have an online client portal and the more detailed you are the better the producer can do. RL pulled together THE MOST AMAZING band who couldn’t have been a better fit for us or for our guests. The singer the band brought was top of the line, amazing, gifted… we can’t say enough! She even learned 2 songs – one for our ceremony, the other for our first dance and sung both beautifully. While we understand if we hired Blue Wave Band again, we’d likely have a different band, we have little doubt whoever they would bring would be amazing!
