remely helpful and professional, and assisted us when we changed our wedding date. They created a perfectly curated playlist based on our specific music tastes, and most importantly, they strictly followed our ‘do not play’ list (which we really appreciated!).
We decided to upgrade from a 7-piece to a 9-piece band to include the full brass, and it was worth every penny—the energy was unmatched. The dance floor was packed from the first song until the very last, and our guests are still raving about how incredible the band was. We received so many compliments from our guests about the band, and a couple of our guests who complimented them are even professional musicians themselves! Bluewater Kings Band is incredibly talented, and they nailed our style. They were able to accommodate all the requests we had, and they made the reception so much fun! It was so nice to not have to micromanage the music portion of our wedding because we could trust the band so much. They have a great website that allowed us to tell them what types of music we listen to, and that helped them tailor their sets to our tastes. They totally nailed it! We knew we were in great hands from the first phone call we had prior to booking the band, but it was such a stress reliever when we had our final music walkthrough phone call prior to wedding. Owen, the band manager was a joy to talk to, and we could tell he was a true professional and understood exactly the kinds of music we wanted to have played.
On the day of the wedding, I had nothing to worry about with the band. They did an excellent job, and they were fantastic with their communication with the venue, with me, and with the people giving speeches. My guests that were giving speeches all appreciated getting a heads up from the MC as to when they would be doing their speech (after a certain course in the dinner, or some other cue), so they wouldn't be taken by surprise. I would recommend using the band for your MC because they are so professional and experienced, and they kept the ceremony and reception running smoothly.
Of all the things we did for our wedding, hiring Bluewater Kings Band was one of the absolute best decisions we made! I could not recommend them more highly, and I recommend you check them out if you are considering a live band for your wedding!

us. He gave GREAT suggestions and had such an uplifting, positive vibe that was very much appreciated. We were a little uneasy that we couldn't see exactly who "our band" was going to be until go-time, but he really put us at ease in explaining how the process worked and emphasizing how talented ALL of their musicians were. It helped push us over to signing the contract. We did a 7-piece and had the pianist play during our ceremony. They were all so, so talented and just really brought the house down when it came time to open the dance floor up. We've had so many compliments about how amazing the band was since our wedding night, which is exactly what we were aiming for! I was most appreciative that unbeknownst to me, my now husband surprised me with my brother sitting in with the band to play guitar and sing our first dance and the father-daughter dance. It's a memory I will forever cherish. He said that BKB was great to collaborate with "behind my back," and my brother said the musicians were great to work with on the fly. Thank you, BKB, for being such an integral part of our special day!

good music sounds like, so we went through a few different bands before a friend recommended Bluewater. One of the BEST decisions that we made! Taylor was a dream to work with, and he answered any and all questions that we had. We only used them for cocktail hour and our reception, but guests were raving about the band, they absolutely loved it!! The energy (we had a 9-piece band), song selection, and vibes were fantastic and ABSOLUTELY contributed to an amazing wedding. A couple of specifics that we loved.
A) Bluewater has showcases all over the Midwest at various bars, where you can listen to them as they explain the various instrumentations that they use. Even as a musician who already knows all of this, it was still amazing to get to hear them live and get an idea of their sound.
B) My dad is a professional opera singer, who wanted to sing a song at our reception with piano. Taylor arranged everything so that he could practice with a pianist beforehand, and it was SUCH a special treat! My uncle is also a pro trumpet player, and with permission, he was able to jump in on a song. They were super flexible and accommodating with things, which we really appreciated.
C) As a musician myself, this may be the most important to me. Bluewater is all self-managed, meaning the musicians book, plan, and organize everything themselves. When you book these big wedding bands, a LARGE chunk of that money goes towards a production or management company, making them often more expensive than necessary! With Bluewater, there is no middle-man. This means that they are actually pretty affordable, because your money is going directly to them. :)
I cannot recommend Bluewater Kings more highly, we are SO glad that we booked them!

excited about the song "September" because my wedding was the 21st of September and he advised me to bring in some brass, which was a great call. Because the band was a larger investment for us it was also really great that the pricing was so transparent from the start. What we paid was pretty much what we discussed with Taylor on day one.
As far as quality of music I can't recommend these guys enough. Each musician was clearly both great as an individual musician, but also able to play seamlessly as a group. I also liked that this group had a good range - able to kill a softer Ed Sheeran slow dance and also an 80s rock hit.
A band is an investment if you're comparing to a DJ BUT this really made our night amazing. Thank you!!!

stretch. However, it was worth every single penny. This truly made the night and our guests could not believe how good they sounded. The sound quality was incredible and music choices were a hit (they event sent the set list after I plan to frame and gift to my wife). From the detailed planning that was efficient on our time but also resourceful, to playing extra that night until the night shut down (which they also did for a great deal and was very considerate of my own budget). I truly can not say enough great things about the band. We had no idea who they were before wedding planning nor had we heard them before. we needed them at our wedding and they did not disappoint! Every guest told us they were their favorite part of the night. They play all types of music from classic rock, to motown, to top 40's. They know how to curate a track list for the night to keep the energy up. The band producer, Jessica, was amazing to work with! She was communicative and answered all of my questions. Aaron did a great job with the tech setup for the ceremony to speeches, and dancing all night. If I could go see Blue Water Kings perform at their own shows - I would! They are THAT good and a must for your wedding! :)

to the reception. We were really happy with the ceremony music too.
Taylor in particular was great to work with. He helped us prepare for everything band-related leading up to the wedding, MC’d the reception, coordinated the ceremony music and band, and then got on stage to preform as one of the lead singers. Highly recommend.
