Bluewater Kings played for us at Bub City Chicago after the Chicago Marathon. We had a buy out of the event (2nd year in a row) and had Bluewater Kings back for a 2nd time. We absolutely love them. The are on time, professional, great with communication, played a very wide range of music and followed the UK charts to see what was current. We have already booked them for a 3rd time!

Worked with Taylor Mallory and he was communicative, detail oriented, up front about pricing, and committed to making it a great night. We had a longer conversation about how I was excited about the song "September" because my wedding was the 21st of September and he advised me to bring in some brass, which was a great call. Because the band was a larger investment for us it was also really great that the pricing was so transparent from the start. What we paid was pretty much what we discussed with Taylor on day one. As far as quality of music I can't recommend these guys enough. Each musician was clearly both great as an individual musician, but also able to play seamlessly as a group. I also liked that this group had a good range - able to kill a softer Ed Sheeran slow dance and also an 80s rock hit. A band is an investment if you're comparing to a DJ BUT this really made our night amazing. Thank you!!!

Wow!! The band was truly incredible!! My wife and I went with the 9 piece band with the upgraded sound. We self funded our wedding so to get a band on top of everything else was a stretch. However, it was worth every single penny. This truly made the night and our guests could not believe how good they sounded. The sound quality was incredible and music choices were a hit (they event sent the set list after I plan to frame and gift to my wife). From the detailed planning that was efficient on our time but also resourceful, to playing extra that night until the night shut down (which they also did for a great deal and was very considerate of my own budget). I truly can not say enough great things about the band. We had no idea who they were before wedding planning nor had we heard them before. They were the best surprise and brought a memory my wife, guests and I will never forget. Thank you!!

I can’t say enough good things about Bluewater Kings Band! They truly made our special day unforgettable. For the ceremony, the cello and piano duo created the most enchanting atmosphere. Blue Water Kings is THE band you need at your wedding/ event! We saw them perform at a family wedding in 2023 and noticed the guests didn't leave the dance floor all night. We knew we needed them at our wedding and they did not disappoint! Every guest told us they were their favorite part of the night. They play all types of music from classic rock, to motown, to top 40's. They know how to curate a track list for the night to keep the energy up. The band producer, Jessica, was amazing to work with! She was communicative and answered all of my questions. Aaron did a great job with the tech setup for the ceremony to speeches, and dancing all night. If I could go see Blue Water Kings perform at their own shows - I would! They are THAT good and a must for your wedding! :)

Excellent band from Chicago for my daughter's wedding in Wisconsin. They couldn't have been more professional and upbeat. EVERYONE at the outdoor tented wedding danced! My wife and I had a fantastic experience. They let us pick our favorite songs from their list, learned 3 more that we requested they preform, and did a great job bringing energy to the reception. We were really happy with the ceremony music too. Taylor in particular was great to work with. He helped us prepare for everything band-related leading up to the wedding, MC’d the reception, coordinated the ceremony music and band, and then got on stage to preform as one of the lead singers. My husband and I hired Bluewater Kings Band for our wedding. From the planning process to the day-of performances, everything was incredible. There was a string trio for the ceremony, a jazz trio for the cocktail hour and a 7-piece band plus DJ for our reception. Corbin, our producer, provided exceptional expertise and was an invaluable resource in making sure every detail for each performance was accounted for. He worked closely with our venue to ensure all tech and equipment needs were met. All band members we interacted with during our wedding were so kind and cordial. They were prompt in arriving to the venue for sound check and were quick and professional with setting up/loading out. The reception performances were fantastic. There were guests on the dance floor from start to the very last song. Switching between live sets and the DJ was seamless. Announcements made by the emcee were clear and non-disruptive. There was a lot of fun interaction between the performers, specifically the singers and the guests. All of our guests have been raving -- even weeks later --- about how AWESOME the band was. The ceremony performances were beautiful! I so appreciate the string trio for their talent and care in playing the specific songs for the wedding processional and my bridal entrance. The cocktail hour music really livened the atmosphere and set up the fun for the night ahead. We heard great things about Bluewater Kings Band, and they did not disappoint! We had an amazing experience with the Bluewater Kings! We first saw them perform at Recess during the West Loop wedding walk and were impressed by their tight sound and flexible options. We were convinced by this live show to book a 6 piece band (with a saxophonist as the add-on). When it came to planning, Owen was super professional and responded promptly to emails. He worked with us to create our dream schedule. We ended up with solo piano during the ceremony, a jazz trio during our cocktail hour, and the full 6 piece band during our reception. The band was able to accommodate our venue which was outdoors, so it was a beautiful night dancing under the stars! The Bluewater Kings had us fill out a survey at two weeks before the wedding with our favorite artists and songs. We listed pop artists like Lady Gaga and Harry Styles, but also some alternative, including Maggie Rogers and my husband’s favorite band Vampire Weekend. BWK played songs by all of the artists we listed! My husband was absolutely blown away when the band played the opening riff to “A-Punk” by Vampire Weekend…it was definitely an unforgettable moment. Many guests remarked to us that BWK were the best wedding band they had heard, and we have to agree. They were an essential part of our big night and a large part of why it was a perfect wedding. We’ll forever be grateful to Owen and the rest of the band for giving us a magical, groovy evening with our friends and family. Thank you Bluewater Kings!

We just got married on 5/25/24 and used Bluewater Kings Band and they were phenomenal! Amazing energy the whole night! Especially loved the fact that the singer came down to the dance floor and sang and danced with us! Multiple guests came up to us and said this was the best band they ever heard and it was an amazing performance! DJ component was excellent as well and made the after party so fun! Also Owen was excellent and easy to work with during the whole planning process! Would highly recommend to anyone planning a wedding!

Bluewater Kings Band played our wedding a few weeks ago and they were fantastic. They sounded great, put on an entertaining show, and played nearly every song we'd requested. The dance floor went all night long, and guests kept coming up to us and saying, "The band is amazing!" At one point they got a conga line going with the horn players in the lead, which people LOVED. We also got the string trio for our ceremony and they played "Hoppipolla" by Sigur Ros and "Let's Get Married," by Bleachers - two very different genres, and both sounded lovely. Not always easy to do! Perhaps most impressive, though, was that the band fulfilled one of my lifelong goals - to play a song with the band at my wedding. They learned the song, hooked up and tuned my guitar, and accommodated me beautifully with zero rehearsal. All I had to do was get up there and play! It was unforgettable. Our contact was Jon Lattier, and he was responsive, thorough, and professional. The band's portal is easy to use. They provide tons of options and combinations so you can get exactly what you want (e.g., male and female vocals, add guitars, add horns, MC service, photobooth, lighting services, etc.). We're so glad we went with BWK, and we definitely recommend them.

Everything was SO well organized in the months leading up to the party due to their online planning platform. All of our guests raved about and were blown away by the band. My dad already has stated that he wants to hire the band for their 40th wedding anniversary party. I couldn't have hoped for a better performance on our wedding night. When planning our wedding, we always said we wanted a PACKED dance floor and the best party ever! Bluewater Kings Band brought that and more! We had the dance floor of our dreams and everyone had a blast at our wedding. I can't even count the amount of people who commented on how amazing our band was. We first heard them play at my cousin's wedding in Michigan and even though our wedding was in Chicago, we HAD to have them! BWK's was the first vendor we booked and we could not have been happier when they were available. Between the phone calls, planning page, and all of the set-up and tear down, they were so organized, helpful, and helped us think of things we may have forgotten. They are the best of the best at what they do and you will have zero regrets and the best party ever booking them!

Blue Water Kings made our wedding. Our dance floor was packed the whole time - even the slower songs! Owen and the band truly delivered an amazing performance the whole evening. Their administer Molly is also extremely professional and the client portal is well organized and easy to use. They are great about making sure you have as little or as much input as you like. For example, we had a few songs we asked if they could play but also leaned on them to pick some playlists for cocktail hour and dinner. Candace playing the Toxic cover on the violin might have been the highlight of the night. Cannot recommend them enough!

The band was incredible. They were recommended to us by the venue (The Abbey), and we couldn't be happier with the results. We had the 3 piece band at cocktail hour and the horns section at the wedding reception in which people did not leave the dance floor! Hiring Bluewater Kings Band for our wedding was such a great choice! We worked with Jessica all the way leading up to the wedding and she was so easy to work with. She was very helpful and easy to reach via email. Everything was extremely organized on their end, which helped make the day run smoothly. One of our concerns about hiring a band was the lack of Spanish music, I am Mexican and Spanish music is a big part of my culture. We were told that the band was going to learn 3 songs for us, which we were so excited bout. Come the day of the wedding, Bluewater Kings surprised us- They had gone and learned sooo many songs in Spanish! They performed about half the set in Spanish, we were literally swept off our feet. Everyone raved about the music and just how great and unique it was! We cannot recommend Bluewater Kings enough!

We debated hiring a band vs DJ and we can truly say hiring Bluewater Kings was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Our 7 piece band blew us and all of our guests away - we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the dance floor! They read the crowd perfectly and kept the energy up the whole night. How do I even put this into words. Blue Water King’s Band was such a mega highlight of our wedding to the point where every single guest asked about the band and said how top notch and phenomenal they are. Of course I already knew this being that I had full trust and faith in Sophie and Devin!!! They were an absolute JOY!!!!! The sound quality was perfect it wasn’t too loud in the tent it was mixed brilliantly. The musicians played every song like the original. And I could write a book about how fantastic Sophie and especially Devin was. They kept atleast 180 guests of our 184 on the dance floor (only my grandparents had to sit because they had so much fun dancing and needed rest haha) the entire night no one left the dance floor and they all stayed until the very end!!! I’ve never witnessed that at a wedding even on breaks!! And everytime the band set up again it’s like we were attending a concert of our favorite performers everyone asked about them and asked when they can play at their kid’s, cousins’ weddings etc! Every guest praised them. Sophie rounded up my best friends and sang a Spice Girls song (I’m a huge fan) and I screamed so hard I am over the moon about it; she also adapted to my dad’s wish that our friend Jaybo who is a progressional tap dancer to perform alongside the band which was also epic. The played plays off the energy of the room so well, true professionals. Everyone in the room felt taken care of and entertained to the enth degree. Devin, I mean he is the reason the night moved seemlessly. He paid attention to every detail, every genre I liked, every definition I gave describing our vibe and hit the mail on the head with my father of the bride/parent trap/classics throughout the decades requests. Every guest kept saying this is the best set list I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding and how the hell did he just sing Queen in the 3rd set like that!!!! Hahaha He made our first dances so special; him coordinating with my dad singing to me during the father daughter speech are memories I will hold dear the rest of my life. Devin also never rushed us or made us feel like we had to keep moving; he was guiding us so wonderfully; I always felt like he had our backs and he even took a the most stunning photos of us in the moment. You guys are so lucky to have this team of true gems. My brother is getting married soon and already has requested them, it only took him 20 minutes to decide from the first set. We are forever grateful! Thank you!!

Bluewater Kings Band was absolutely incredible! My husband and I went to a showcase downtown, and we knew instantly that we were going to book them. We could not have pictured our wedding without them performing! They play a variety of songs and everyone of all ages was on the dance floor. Blue water Kings was absolutely wonderful from Day1 ! Communication was excellent. Any questions I had were responded to immediately. And they sound fantastic! Our guests got on the dance floor and never left. At midnight there had to be 50 people still wanting more. They acted as the MC and worked flawlessly with our other vendors. I worked primarily with Owen who was wonderful. The day of the event Miles took the lead. It was seamless. Miles delivered everything plus what had talked about with Owen. Best band around .
