and that’s exactly what they did! They were very easy to work with and available for calls to discuss our plans for the day! They even went above and went along with my idea to have the saxophone player circle through cocktail hour to lead guests in to the reception space! The blue water kings had great energy and had people on the dance floor who usually just stay in their seats at weddings! They took our reception to the next level and we would 100% book them again! I have had at least 10 people ask me who our band was because they want to book them for their wedding because of how great they were!

ur first dance, and reminded the lead band point of contact the day of the wedding, which he acknowledged but they were not followed. We also requested a few songs day of that they did not play.
We were told many times how often the band played at our venue, but in a way that made it seem like they weren’t very excited to be there.
Overall, for the price and sound quality they are great but for the factors above, it wasn’t perfect.

ar you enjoyed the band’s sound and energy, we’re genuinely sorry to learn there were aspects of your experience that didn’t meet expectations.
We do our best to honor special requests but, as a live band, we’re not always able to accommodate additions made on the day of the event. To ensure a seamless performance, we prioritize the songs and preferences confirmed and rehearsed in advance. This is also outlined in our policies. We reviewed your planning portal submissions and email correspondence, and the only special instructions we found for the first dance were to play the song live for "about 2 min". While the band did cut the song early, I realize it can feel much longer when you're dancing in front of a crowd. Shortening special dances is part of our standard practice and recommendations for this very reason. If something else was missed or miscommunicated on our end, I sincerely apologize as we know how important it is for that moment to play out exactly as envisioned. We also noted your special instructions for the final song of the night, to start slow and speed up towards the end, which the band also followed.
We want to sincerely apologize if any comments about our familiarity with the venue came across as disinterest. Our intention is always to reassure with our experience at the venue, never to diminish the importance of your day. Every event is unique, and we regret if that sentiment didn’t come through in our communication. I can assure you our musicians were thrilled to play for you and your guests and they really enjoyed the evening! The crowd certainly seemed to enjoy themselves, which is always our goal!

I would use more profanity to drive home just how absolutely incredible they were, but I fear my review wouldn't be posted. They blew the roof off our reception and sure had fun doing it. I was able to list music we wanted played as well as music we wanted to avoid, the timeline of the reception, etc. Charice emceed our reception and did a great job! The band was extremely professional as well as fun. Our reception was lively all evening long. Bluewater Kings Band was worth every penny!! You will not go wrong booking this band for your event!! First off, the overall skillset and abilities of the band were excellent. If you are ok with little planning and aren't concerned with songs played, this band is for you. They told...
us they are flexible and do what their clients want and we could pick our songs to be played but that did not happen.
They have a list of songs they can play and they provide said list and suggested we pick songs from that. They also said we could put some songs on the list they did not have on their list and they would play as many as they could. We provided a list of 35-40 songs to play and they played about a third of them. There were numerous songs they had on their approved list they said they play and we asked to have played but they played other songs instead. It was highly unprofessional to not be more transparent to begin with.
They were very difficult to work with in the planning phase. I regularly had to ask questions about space and other constraints only to be met with the Charice telling me they are flexible. It made planning more difficult. Further, during the planning phase they had a fairly laid back approach and I had to reach out to them to try and finalize details. On the day of they arrived later than other vendors and didn't seem to check with other vendors to make sure all on the same page as they fumbled over announcements of wedding party and bride/groom and played the wrong songs there as well as stumbled through announcements of best man/matron of honor speeches. While overall they have significant musical skill, they missed the mark when it comes to professionalism and conducting business. I would take this into consideration when choosing them.

exceeded all our (high) expectations. First a special shout out to Jon for all his patience and organizational skills from booking to our final meeting a year later. He was patient with all my questions, efficient with the logistics and gracious in making changes along the way. The musicianship of the band members was palpable and we felt so lucky to have this live group at our daughter’s wedding – and that is saying a lot from a family with several talented musicians all of whom were equally blown away. Nick handled the MC role perfectly, never over the top or being the focus, but ALWAYS on point and on time shepherding us through the evening. The band as a whole really capitalized on the energy of our guests and it wasn’t long before everyone was on the dancefloor, which remained packed through the last song. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping our daughter and new son-in-law have the reception of their dreams!

ance floor went all night long, and guests kept coming up to us and saying, "The band is amazing!" At one point they got a conga line going with the horn players in the lead, which people LOVED.
We also got the string trio for our ceremony and they played "Hoppipolla" by Sigur Ros and "Let's Get Married," by Bleachers - two very different genres, and both sounded lovely. Not always easy to do!
Perhaps most impressive, though, was that the band fulfilled one of my lifelong goals - to play a song with the band at my wedding. They learned the song, hooked up and tuned my guitar, and accommodated me beautifully with zero rehearsal. All I had to do was get up there and play! It was unforgettable.
Our contact was Jon Lattier, and he was responsive, thorough, and professional. The band's portal is easy to use. They provide tons of options and combinations so you can get exactly what you want (e.g., male and female vocals, add guitars, add horns, MC service, photobooth, lighting services, etc.). We're so glad we went with BWK, and we definitely recommend them.

From our grandparents to our friends to our families, our guests loved listening to them and dancing to them; so much so that even months after our special day, they are still commenting on how phenomenal they were! They MC’d for us, played great music during their breaks, and our guests thought the saxophone player was especially awesome/talented. Our ceremony music was also beautiful, and a perfect mix of traditional songs and modern songs.
In addition to amazing talent and energy on the day of, Bluewater Kings band was understanding and flexible with us when we made the tough decision to postpone our wedding back in 2020 because of covid. Jon was extremely responsive to any questions we had or whenever we wanted to confirm details. Our last call together two weeks before the wedding, left me feeling extremely confident about the logistics, details and music - they were one less thing I felt I needed to worry about because they had it covered! Bluewater Kings Band was one of our favorite vendors, and they helped make our “packed dance floor” wedding dreams come true! I would absolutely recommend them to anybody in the Cincinnati/Dayton area!

evels of packages) than most of the other bands I talked to, and the fact that they are a strong syndicate gave me major peace of mind in this COVID environment. Another thing I loved was that I could give them as much or as little instruction as I wanted, and knew they'd make it a great show. I gave a couple 'do not plays' but otherwise was open to anything, and they were totally fine, and honestly probably preferred, coming up with their own set list. Those were just the logistical reasons why I went with them, but they KILLED IT at our wedding. It wasn't even the same group of individuals that I had heard at my friend's wedding years back (I knew that would be the case), but they absolutely rocked the house and I got so many compliments. Probably the #1 thing my guests have talked about since our wedding day. I also had multiple people come up to me thinking they were another (way more expensive) local band. Can't say enough about them. PLUS they service so many other cities, so I am so confident that they would be amazing no matter where you're getting married. Like I said, I saw 2 different combinations of the group in the same city over the years, and both were amazing. 10/10 recommend!

hey were all so wonderful to work with and easy to get along with. Everyone was raving all night about how great they were. They kept the flow of the party moving wonderfully and even allowed some of us to come up and guest sing with them! And we loved their energy! The only complaint we would have is that they didn't play the list of songs we had requested, but this may have been because we didn't have wifi at our venue. We are thrilled with our choice in them and had so many compliments from our guests!

eir weight in gold and then some. Their performance was high energy, polished and filled with all the songs the crowd loved. You can really tell they love what they do. They were so easy to book with and guided us through the booking, band selection process and filling in all the details they needed to perform flawlessly! We were so happy with the whole evening. We will certainly be working with them any chance we get!

we first had a strings trio perform at the ceremony and they did an amazing job. It was exactly how I had hoped it would sound! During the reception, the dance floor was not only packed, it was overflowing into the area by the tables. Their rendition of "Shout" was the best I have ever seen live -- they even got my husband involved when the lead singer came out onto the dance floor! If you are looking to dance the night away, this is the band you should pick!

ime at the reception on the dance floor. The Bluewater Kings blew us, and our guests away! They were EXTREMELY easy to work with, and exceeded our expectations. We purchased the 8 piece band with MC. Our day of coordinator cancelled last minute on us that day, the band MC went above and beyond to fill her gap. We could not have been more thankful for Bluewater Kings. Many of our guests asked for their card, or texted us the next day for their name. We highly recommend them for your wedding, our dance floor was filled up until the very last song!
