Bluewater Kings Band was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception, the music was absolutely perfect and created an incredible atmosphere all night. So many of our guests commented on how amazing the band was—even those who don’t usually dance were out on the floor and loving it. Everything was seamless and professional, and they did a fantastic job incorporating our “must play” songs in a way that felt personal and fun. And they did an incredible job with our first dance song. It is the best version of the song we had ever heard. We couldn’t recommend them more highly—they made the night unforgettable.

We received so many compliments on how fun they were! We did have to reschedule from 10/2020 to 5/2021, and everything went so smooth. They even learned our first dance song, and a song for our ceremony, which they played just as good (if not better) than the originals! Highly Recommend!

we first had a strings trio perform at the ceremony and they did an amazing job. It was exactly how I had hoped it would sound! During the reception, the dance floor was not only packed, it was overflowing into the area by the tables. Their rendition of "Shout" was the best I have ever seen live -- they even got my husband involved when the lead singer came out onto the dance floor! If you are looking to dance the night away, this is the band you should pick!

ed beautifully during the ceremony, a jazz trio kept things classy and convivial during the cocktail hour, and then the MC and band were totally rocking and on-point during our reception. They had everyone dancing and grooving till the last song! Some of the less mobile folks were entertained just watching the excellent live performance, and many people asked me for their info.
In the months leading up to the big day, Danielle was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. I shopped around for a band and this was the best value—worth every penny! Thank you, Bluewater Kings Band!

more towards the classic soul/funk/oldies side while also playing enough fun dance songs that would keep people on their feet. This seemed very natural to them as the night had a perfect progression from "classy/elegant" in the beginning to a full on dance party by the end.
Jessica and the band were so thorough and accommodating throughout the whole process. I can be a control freak and it was immediately apparent that they have their stuff together and I had nothing to worry about it. Their showcases are brilliant in how they show different band setups and sizes and the communication was effortless to drill home all the details. They were also very accommodating in allowing a very special request to sit in with them on a song - and we tore the roof off that place! Highly recommended!

r talking with her a few times, she assured me Dee and Jill would be the right fit for our wedding. Day of comes and I learn that they don’t know many of the songs that I wanted played on the dance floor. Their song choices were strange, it seemed like they struggled to figure out which songs people were into. Also they took really long breaks and the music they played during it was quiet and a buzz kill. I had to run outside to them on their break to ask them to turn it up so people could dance.
Based on other reviews and what I’ve seen at their showcases, Id say they could definitely be worth it, just make sure you are paired with the right singers who know the music you want to dance to on your wedding night.

I am sorry that you ultimately felt his style of music didn't fit your vision - we based our set list for the evening on the songs you requested on your planning page before the event along with songs we know are classic dance floor fillers. I know you changed your mind on the setlist on the night, which I can appreciate. While we tried to accommodate your last minute requests, it can be difficult for a live band to adjust on such short notice. I thought you were happy with our solution to DJ some of your last minute must-play requests, so I'm really sorry if we misunderstood. We truly were trying to accommodate as best we could on the night to give you the best night with all your favorite music, so I'm sorry if we didn't achieve that. Best wishes to you and Bryant!

They have a customized, flexible approach to building the music package that's perfect for you, with the ability to provide classical musicians for the ceremony, a jazz quarter for cocktail hour and nearly any blend of genres you like for the reception. We added two brass players to the reception band to get the sound we wanted and the saxophone player was unreal!!! Of all the vendors I worked with, communicating with the Blue Water Kings was the easiest. They use a custom micro-site to host all of the information specific to your wedding and it made communication clear, efficient and so effective. I loved working with their point-person Jason and am so glad that we hired them to rock our night!

ans and you can request certain people and you can choose your size of band as well and what instruments you would like (obviously with their recommendations). They offer showcases in the metro Detroit area so you can get a little preview, and they have different people playing at each showcase. We ended up going to 2. You are assigned someone who is your go-to contact (not necessarily in your band). They have you fill out a band planning page where you indicate timeline, music styles, specific songs you'd like/not like, etc. We were assigned to Tony, who was very helpful and patient with us through all of our questions and made us feel at ease the week before the wedding. We were a little high maintenance and ended up creating a dinner playlist and dance playlist on Spotify, letting them know they were ordered by priority. They did an amazing job sticking to this! If they couldn't play the song live, they DJ'd it during their breaks. And did a perfect job placing these DJ'd songs (and live songs) in a good order that kept everyone on the dance floor, and played slower songs earlier in the night to make sure some of the older folks made it out on the dance floor before calling it a night. You can have them learn 3 songs that they wouldn't otherwise know. They also offer MC services for a little extra money so all of your intros, cake cutting announcement, etc. are taken care of. We had them play bass and piano during cocktail hour and received great reviews from that as well (we were off taking pictures). My husband's brother is a musician (and is actually trying out for BWK next week) and they allowed him to come up and sing a song with the band, and it was awesome! So much fun!!

The Bluewater Kings Band read the crowd the entire night and played hit song after hit song!
The group is super talented and we were extremely impressed with them. Prior to the event I worked with one of the band members to discuss the logistics of the reception . They were professional and wanted to accommodate everything we wanted to do to make the night perfect. Needless to say we couldn't have been more pleased with the music, talent, and the atmosphere they created for our reception.
If you're thinking about the Bluewater Kings Band for your wedding/event I give them the highest recommendation. The other cool thing they do is play showcase sets in Columbus so we went to see them play at the Woodlands Tavern so we could see the band for ourselves. We pretty much knew after the first song they played that this was the band for our us!

We had multiple engaged couples ask to be introduced to meet the band at our reception and immediately said that they wanted to book them for their upcoming weddings. We've even had acquaintances who weren't at the wedding reach out and say that they heard how incredible our band was and ask for their information. They also handled any special requests we had, like learning one of our favorite, kind of obscure, songs and letting my husbands cousin who is a professional singer hop on stage for a song. We loved having the Blue Water Kings at our wedding, they really made the reception special.

Jacy was incredible to work with- so friendly, upbeat, and on top of all communications. It was so fun to have her performing at our actual event as well.
I had very specific requests for the setlist and they completely delivered. There wasn't one song I wasn't absolutely thrilled about. The dance floor was completely full all night and I had many people tell me how amazing the band was.
They performed our first dance songs as well as the song for our "flash mob" (see pics) which was also extremely fun. We had so much fun and we wish we could do it all over again.

e, I don't have enough positive words to describe Blue Water Kings. They were absolutely great to work with beforehand. And day of, is even better!
They give you great feedback and recommendations and their planning tool helps them get a feel for you, while knowing how to make your day special.
You don't have to worry about some DJ mixing the wrong type of music in and isolating certain audience members. BWKs are professionals at reading the crowd and doing what they can to get everyone up and moving from GO.
A month later, I'm still getting videos from my friends and family from them dancing to the band.
Super engaging and they have an incredible range of music to select from.
If you're even entertaining the idea of live music. Check them out, could make all the difference between just another wedding and something truly spectacular.

liver such a fun dance party! Not only did we have a full dance floor at the end of the night, but we got so many compliments on the band from attendees young and old.
When you book this band, my best piece of advice is to give them only a few song ideas--they know how to read a room, so let them do their thing and it will be more than fantastic.
To top it off, the band was very easy to work with--communicative, professional, and easy to pay. They get along with all other vendors and are very flexible when planning your day. Could not recommend this crew more!
