The Bluewater Kings Band was an exceptional group of musicians. We first learned of them at my son's wedding in Michigan. They were excellent and made the wedding ceremony and the party afterward extra fun. Because of that experience, we were happy to hire them for our daughter's wedding in Minnesota. From the planning stage (a year and a half out) to the event, they were exceptional to deal. They helped organize, took music requests (before the event) and blended together a marvelous evening that had the dance floor filled and non dancing guests enjoying the extremely talented group of musicians and singers. They managed to play a very diverse/eclectic mix and stay true to the piece. It was extraordinary and made for a very enjoyable evening for all.

Having the Bluewater Kings Band at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! I had seen them perform at a family wedding before attending one of their public showcases (they post upcoming dates and locations on their website and social media), and after seeing them again, we felt even more confident booking them.
Their planning portal was easy to use, and our band managers, Ryan and Jacy, were fantastic to work with throughout the entire planning process. They helped us coordinate everything from MC services to a T-shirt toss, and they enthusiastically accommodated special requests like our anniversary dance.
The band was incredibly talented, kept the dance floor packed all night, and created such a fun, high-energy atmosphere. Since our wedding, so many guests have told us the band was one of their favorite parts of the day and several have even said they'll expect a live band at every wedding they attend from now on! We couldn't recommend Bluewater Kings more highly.

likes, their musicians are incredibly talented, and they are such high excitement to get the crowd going. We did not have an empty dance floor for a single second with BWKB.
One great thing to call out is that they are extremely flexible. If you have a smaller budget, you can get a 3 or 4 piece band, and if you want more, then you can have up to a 14 (maybe even 16?) piece band. Being able to truly pick and choose what type of instruments, band size, playlist, etc. was so much fun. They even learned our first dance song!!
They are the best - you and your guests will not be disappointed!

ected, but they kept the dance floor lively and everyone engaged! My husband and I danced the entire three hours with almost no breaks and had an amazing time. Reed and Alyssa did are very talented and Reed especially did a great job of coordinating with me throughout the night as the timeline needed to be tweaked but also did not bug me too much. Alyssa was a trooper when one groomsman tried to drag her on to the dance floor to dance (whoops). Thank you so much for everything! I highly recommend this band for ant event. If you’re on the fence, go to one of their free showcases and it’ll help you make up your mind. :) 10/10 recommend over a DJ.

Day-of, they were phenomenal! Their MC services were incredible: attentive, organized, and on top of every little change. We had a few last-minute adjustments to the schedule and speakers, and they handled everything with complete flexibility and confidence. They even checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were ready before moving the evening along, which we appreciated so much.
And the music… unreal. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. We wanted songs everyone knew the words to, and they delivered exactly that. They played every single song we requested and offered spot-on recommendations that kept the energy high. Our guests are still talking about how fun the band was!!!

w weddings with a live band, we chose to do it as well, you need liquor and good music for a party! We heard about the BlueWater Kings and immediately booked them. Zero regrets and would do again in a heart beat. They actually did two pieces for our ceremony, three pieces for cocktail hour, and seven piece for reception and every single event was perfect with them. I was a pit picky on the style/chord I wanted the aisle march song in and they nailed it without batting an eye.
Also, we did a seven piece band because we wanted male and female vocal and it included one brass instrument, which wasn’t standard with six but had heard it would round out the sound. Highly recommend the brass! We had a sax player at our reception that had a few solos and just blew people away. Most of the dance floor would stop and watch him during those moments and was very cool!

After seeing so many positive reviews, I am disappointed to write about our experience with the bluewater kings band. Prior to the event, they were very professional and easy to co...
ntact. Their website is user friendly. We had a phone call with Karisa a few weeks prior to our event where we discussed our requests, including a song we wanted to play during our introduction into the reception. Karisa suggested they dj that song, which we agreed to. We also provided several artists, as they requested, so they could tailor their set list to our preferences. The cocktail hour trio was excellent. Unfortunately, they died the wrong song during our introduction. They played two songs by the artists from the list we provided of 6. My MOH requested them to play a song by Maroon 5 during their final break as my husband loves that band and wanted to hear one of their songs during our wedding. They agreed to do so, then proceeded to not play the song during their final set. The songs they played were completely unrelated to the artists we requested. While the band was professional and talented, for such a massive investment I would expect better attention to detail and personalization.

o have been a part of your special day and are glad to hear that you enjoyed the cocktail hour trio and found the band professional and talented. However, we’re sorry that certain musical aspects didn’t fully meet your expectations.
We always aim to accommodate special requests and, to clarify, we performed songs by 4 out of the 6 artists you suggested and avoided all songs on the Do Not Play list. Regarding the Maroon 5 request on the night, the band did perform "Sugar", though I'm very sorry if you missed the performance.
As we recommend to all of our clients, we suggest providing a more extensive list of songs and artists. With only a few suggestions, it can be challenging to tailor a 3-hour set to those preferences, particularly when considering how certain songs, like electronic dance music, translate to a live performance.
We sincerely apologize for the mix-up on the intro song. It was an honest mistake, but we know how important those details are, and we’re truly sorry for that oversight.

a playlist the had our entire wedding dancing for nearly 3 hours straight! The range the band has is truly incredible and can capture nearly any request. We've since had multiple guests tell us how much fun they had with the band and how they appreciated that the songs included in the playlist hit on all levels (guest age, music tempo, high energy level, etc.). Prior to the reception itself, Jacy was incredibly helpful and flexible in working with us to make sure we had the exact pieces we wanted for our reception and giving us just enough guidance to help the band craft their playlist. Our first dance song was "Biblical" by Calum Scott, and we told the band that if they didn't have a vocalist who could nail it, we would prefer to just play the track. OH MY, Sam B sounded better than the track. Our guests were stunned, and we were beyond happy with his performance—it gave us chills.
Andrina and Katie, your voices were phenomenal, and your energy was infectious. You kept the party going all night long, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect performance. Thank you for making our special day unforgettable.

The m/c did a fabulous job throughout the wedding keeping at perfect pace with our timeline. And the music was spectacular. We were extremely thrilled we went with the 14-piece band, yes a large stage and 5 vocals !!
The dance floor was hopping, literally all night long. The talent of this group was incredible. Guests are still talking about what a great band BWK is! They learned the “first dance” song and made it so incredibly special as well as fun punch of music mid father-of speech.
Working with Ryan throughout the planning process was seamless - they have it down and are remarkably talented group of performers.
We highly recommend BWK; they can accommodate any size band for your special event.

olutely unforgettable! Ryan the band manager was super communicative from the moment we booked. He made sure all the prep work was done well in advance to understand special song requests, the order of events, vibe desired for the night, etc.
We leaned more into classic r&b, soul, with some 'get up and dance' rock and pop variety later in the night. Our guests could NOT stop dancing. Compliments were coming to me all night about the band and I even got a few "best wedding ever!" remarks.
They couldn't have done better. All of our guests were blown away by Jacy's vocals, especially on "As Time Goes By" which we ended the night on.
We loved every second of dancing to their performance.
The ceremony was perfect and everything we ever dreamed of (and more!) We had the wedding of our dreams and are still reeling from it. We got married in Siren Wisconsin and the band made the 2 hour trip from the twin cities without charging me for hotel rooms for the night, which I also really appreciated on our budget.
Thanks to Bluewater Kings it was the party of a lifetime!

d received so many compliments! The band had people dancing the whole night through, playing everything from funk and Motown to contemporary hits to nostalgic tunes for us from the '90s. And they sounded so good! Prior to the wedding, we had the opportunity to share our musical tastes and request some songs in advance, but honestly, you can trust their judgment on what to play to keep the energy high. If you're in any doubt, they helpfully have regular showcases scheduled, where you can hear the band in person before you sign on with them. I can't recommend them enough!

I was most impressed that I sent an email a few days before the wedding with some "only if you can make it happen" requests and they learned and did every single one of them during our reception! The music was a perfect mix to keep guests of all ages entertained, and we have not stopped hearing about how much fun everyone had and how wonderful the band was. I'd highly recommend BWKB; our dance floor was packed all night and the live music made it a night we'll always remember.

We were able to give guidance on the type of music we liked, and they guaranteed 3 songs they would play of our choosing. Our guests are still raving about the Band!!! It is definitely worth it to hire them over a DJ. They absolutely made our wedding evening! You can't pick your band members but Bri was PHENOMENAL!! My only feedback is if you add on the MC services, don't have high expectations. One of the band members duals as MC and ours wasn't anything spectacular and struggled with names and his overall presence as an MC (BUT he was a fantastic singer ironically so it evened out). Highly recommend BWK if you are looking for a band for your wedding!!

roducer- highly suggested before hiring any band) we changed the band size to a 7 piece band — which included a sax & trumpet along with Alisha & Ben as singers. RAVE reviews from all the guests!!!! Everyone was so impressed that at the end adults & kids made a line to high-five all the band members - twice!
Ryan was so easy to work with and great about taking the time to answer any questions
— in spite of a heavy June/ July wedding schedule!
We would definitely recommend Bluewater Kings band— OUTSTANDING and made the night a very special event. We would give them 10 stars out of 5 !!
