When planning our wedding I knew I wanted a live band instead of a DJ. We heard about a showcase BWK was putting on and after seeing them live knew that’s who we wanted at our wedding. Amy was so helpful and thorough with planning, and the band members we had on the day absolutely aced it. The string trio for our ceremony was so beautiful that I started crying from just their music before I walked down. The band at our reception was incredible with not just their talent but the range of all the songs in their repertoire. I’m more of a “go home early and go to bed” sort of partier, but they had me dancing until the very end of the night.

From the ceremony sound and string duo to the reception band, DJ, and MC, everything was executed flawlessly. W3 hired Bluewater Kings for our daughter's wedding. Owen was helpful & professional but was unable to attend that day. Taylor MC'd & did a great job. The band sounded great but did not play the dinner music we requested.

BWK Band was seriously amazing. We worked with Jessica throughout our wedding planning process and I love how responsive yet casual she was. They really understood our music taste and played to pack the dance floor - which they did! The MC was also a band member which was really cool to see. They also respected our "do not play" list which was long (transparently). I felt like they respected our taste, while also playing so that our guests had fun. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding band!

The band was incredible! We hired the full 9 piece band with an additional fiddle for our farm wedding and it was one of our best wedding planning decisions. Our first dance song was Wildflowers by Tom Petty and Bluewater King's rendition of the song was absolutely beautiful- I've started listening to our dance video to listen to the song instead of the original! The song selection was so much fun and our guests had a blast! The band brought so much extra life to the event and kept the dancefloor busy the entire night!

BWK band is the best! Our dance floor was packed from start to finish. We didn’t want it to end! Tony our manager was super easy to work with through out the process and gave us peace knowing we could fully trust them come our wedding day. Our wedding guests still talk about them and how much fun they had! This is your sign to book them!

We contracted 5 Bluewater Kings musicians to play during our wedding reception. They were a highlight of the event and blew us away! Guests keep contacting us still telling us how much fun they had. "You really know how to throw a party!" It's a nice compliment, but really, we just know to put our trust in the right vendors. Ryan from Bluewater Kings was so communicative throughout the entire process - with no responses taking longer than a day. He was clear and positive, always with a can-do attitude. Sharing music preferences with Ryan was easy in advance and they understood our needs perfectly. The band itself was incredible. They kept the energy level high. They looked like they were having fun themselves, which made the overall atmosphere that much more vibrant and engaging. Such a dream!

After seeing the Blue Water Kings Band perform at other weddings and events, I knew we had to have them at ours — and they did not disappoint! After seeing the BWKB perform at several weddings as well as other venues, we knew we needed them for our own wedding. Jessica did a fantastic job in understanding what we needed and delivering the perfect team on our wedding day. The band that played during our reception was so talented and so good! They listened to all special requests from the minute cocktail hour started to the minute our last song played. They also did a fantastic job doing the “MC work” for speeches and events during dinner. Many people at our wedding said that was their favorite wedding band performance and they could not believe how popping the dance floor was all night. Thank you Blue Water Kings Band for making our wedding reception so vibrant! I cannot recommend this band enough, for any occasion. 10/10!

Musical talent which exceeded all expectations. These are professionals on every level and our dance floor was packed all night. Full on, an absolute jam. Worth every penny. Will definitely book again. They also handled our event very skillfully. Just very smooth and professional. Super nice people. Highly recommend. I will be booking them again.

Can't say enough wonderful things about Bluewater Kings Band! They did a fantastic job at our wedding and we got sooo many compliments on the band afterward. The dance floor was absolutely packed all night and we had the best time dancing the night away!

Overall band sounded great, keep crowd going. Incident occurred that band member said to guests “they need to pay me more to play this” and demanded extra tips to play certain song when we paid for entire band per contract, tipped well in addition to this, and paid for band hotel rooms, dinner, snacks, etc. Numerous guests felt they had to tip band through night due to comments. Left a bad taste for guests.

If you want your wedding to be a party, then for SURE hire the Bluewater Kings Band! We had such a great experience with their team from start to finish. My fiance and I knew from the beginning that we wanted a live band at our wedding reception. After an initial informational call, we decided to move forward and sign a contract for a six piece band. From this point we were provided a personal portal to list all of our musical requests including our favorite artists, songs we wanted the band to learn, and even a do-not-play list. The thoroughness truly paid off on the day of. The Bluewater Kings brought the PARTY! They read our crowd perfectly and ensured the dance floor was never empty. Their team played two longer sets during our reception and they cranked out hit after hit. They even accommodated a personalized performance from the father of the groom! We recommend them highly for your next event!

The Bluewater Kings Band did a wonderful job at my daughter’s October 11, 2024 wedding. My wife along with myself and all of our guests were so impressed with all of the talented members in the band. The music played at the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing was beautiful. It added a very special touch to the memories of their first day together as husband and wife. My daughter and son-in-law had smiles on their faces all night long. You personally did a outstanding job working with our daughter and now son-in-law, in choosing music that met their personalities. Molly made it a very smooth process to arrange such a magical night. Especially with learning, playing and singing the song for their first dance. She has a great voice. Our guests were shocked on how many and how long people were on the dance floor. Your band made it such a fun event. We can not express enough that choosing Bluewater Kings Band for our daughter’s wedding was hands down the best choice we made for their event.

The band was very professional, easy to work with, and relatively affordable compared to other bands. Everybody said they had a great time dancing to the music! Finally, the band also lets you play your own Spotify playlist when they take breaks, which I loved, since I was the person in the couple leaning toward having a DJ. I think the only thing I would say is that the songs were not as upbeat as I would have hoped, and I don’t think they played everything on our set list. We really only went over what we wanted/didn’t want the week before (I am told this is typical). The guy reviewing our planning said he saw that our vibe was some Motown, some modern, which was true, but I would say they ended up playing more Motown and more older than newer. Nevertheless, I think going with the band was the right way to go. Even if some of the songs aren’t what you want, that same song would get more people on the dance floor when played live vs when DJ’d. Finally, everyone had a good time and enjoyed the music, so maybe I'm just being the picky bride :)

We had Bluewater Kings Band for our ceremony music (string quartet) and reception (9 piece band) for our September wedding in Chicago. Music was hugely important to us, and they were INCREDIBLE! We got so many compliments on the music from our guests. Even better, Molly was so lovely to work with leading up to the big day. They are flexible, professional and unbelievably talented (we had a few musicians attend our wedding and they could tell how skilled the drummers and jazz were in particular!). They will be your best (and most fun) wedding investment!

We HIGHLY recommend Bluewater Kings Band! From the day we signed our contract, Owen and his team have been friendly and easy to work with. They even helped us secure a videographer less than a month before our wedding! On our wedding day, they were easy to work with and super flexible (given we ran into some weather-related issues). They kept our guests happy and dancing all night long! We couldn't imagine our wedding day without Bluewater Kings Band! 

The Bluewater Kings were so easy to work with from initial discussions through the day of our wedding! Our producer Jessica made the planning process super easy and ensured we had elements incorporated that were important to us. The band on the day of was high energy and accommodating and our guests were on their feet all night! We got so many compliments on the music and are grateful we chose Bluewater Kings to be part of our special celebration.

Bluewater Kings were a huge hit at our wedding! The number one question we were asked throughout the night is "Where did you find this band? They're incredible!" We were so grateful for their professionalism, support, and, of course, their incredible sound. We had the best night dancing alongside them.

BWKB brings the energy. They know how to work a crowd. We worked with Jacy, one of the many managers of BWKB. Communication with Jacy was always clear and she did a great job listening to our vision. They put on a damn good show, which included a 10-minute Hora. We went to show-case earlier in the year, which helped to solidify booking this band. If you have special requests for songs to learn, make sure you tell them with ample time to practice. Their playlist is a little dated at this point, so if you want some current songs, get those requests in early.

When picking our wedding vendors, an amazing live band was the top of our list! We had been told by people we know how great Bluewater Kings was, but my husband and I can honestly say they far exceeded our expectations! The first thing we did was go to a showcase in Chicago to see BWK, which I would highly recommend! They showcase various band sizes and instruments/vocals that can be included which was so helpful to customize our experience. We ended up booking at 13-piece band and are so happy we did! The process of working with BWK was so simple - we worked with our producer Molly throughout the entire year between booking the band and our wedding, which was September 30. Molly was incredibly responsive and helpful the entire time, and she helped guide us toward the perfect band selection. BWK also has a really helpful portal that you can do all of your collaboration and planning in which was a great asset! As I mentioned, one of our most important parts of our wedding day was the music, and our goal was to keep our guests dancing all night long. To say BWK delivered would be an absolute understatement! They worked with us to have a 3 song dance set before dinner after our first dance, which got our guests out on the dance floor early and helped keep the energy high all night long! When the band was playing the dance floor was packed, and that was our goal! BWK lets you pick a few must-play songs, as well as don't plays, and they stuck to those for us. All the songs in between were exactly what our guests like to hear, and they had a large range of genres and songs across decades that they played all night long. Additionally, the absolutely knocked our first dance and parent dances out of the park! Finally, the band leader for the night, David, was unbelievable. He worked closely with our venue and our planner to keep everything on track, made amazing announcements to let our guests know what was coming up next, and helped keep the party going all night long. Thanks so much David! Aside from just the 13 piece band, we hired ceremony and cocktail hour musicians from BWK, as well as lighting and video services through their partner Lightwave Productions. Everything was so easy to coordinate and Lightwave was also so great to work with - we can't wait to see the final video product! I can't say enough amazing things about BWK - if you don't book them for your wedding you will be missing out. Thank you so much Molly and team!

We had the Bluewater Kings at our September 2023 wedding. They were absolutely incredible - their music kept the dance floor packed all night, and I can't even count how many people complemented us on the band. We'd recommend them to anyone who asks!

BWK was exactly as advertised and helped make our wedding day go smoothly. The band/MC were constantly in communication with us throughout the day and performed excellently. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Bluewater Kings Band is the best band in the area… full stop. They are true professionals who work hard to understand your vision and bring that to light. They played our wedding and it was FANTASTIC! By far the most common comment I received was how good the band was!

We were lucky enough to be at a wedding where they performed. They had 9 artists and man oh man they were amazing. They played 3 sets, and they ran the gamut. The bride who has an amazing voice joined the band for 2 songs. They were like no other band I have witnessed at a wedding. Non stop dancing, and so professional. I will be seeking them out to see them again. They perform all over the place.

We just had our wedding on Saturday and I can't say enough good things about this band. From the wide variety of songs they played for us, to the great sound and energy they filled the room with. Our wedding really needed a good band to help make it great and they really came through for us. Extremely curteous and professional. They even surprised us by playing several of our song requests and they were able to play the right songs at the right time based on where we were in the reception timeline. I firmly believe we picked the best band for our wedding. We received so many compliments from our guests about how fun and talented they were. Bluewater Kings was amazing!!! We hired them for our wedding in August 2022 at Notre Dame. Molly was so wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding and she got exactly what we were looking for. They also played our requests during the breaks which was awesome so we could hear the originals of some of our favorites. The music selection was perfect and every song was a hit. We were SO happy with the songs they picked and our guests clearly loved it too since the dance floor was packed the entire night! So many of our guests have commented on how amazing the band was and that it was the most packed dance floor they've ever seen at a wedding. Josh the MC was also so great and we loved his energy! They were also kind enough to share the set list afterwards so we can always remember the songs played. My only regret is not having more videos of the band once our videographer left since I wish I could replay it! I would HIGHLY recommend booking Bluewater Kings as soon as you can!

Before we booked BWK for our wedding in Louisville, KY in September 2022, we went to their Chicago sample performance which was super helpful to hear the difference between the different band size options. We ended up going with a 7 piece band and were able to use a promo for an hour for a jazz trio for our cocktail hour. I think for our location the band was from the Cincinnati location but they were just as good as what we had in Chicago. We had a lot of compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed the band and there were a decent amount of people on the floor whenever the band went on. It was also very easy to communicate with them for coordination on their planning platform and submit any requests prior to the day. Would definitely recommend them!

Bluewater Kings were everything we hoped for and then some! They are incredible musicians and the nicest people. They brought such good energy and kept the dance floor full the entire night. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

BWK were absolutely incredible! Their song list is very large and they nailed both sets during our wedding reception. We also had them play jazz during our cocktail hour, which I highly recommend. They also learned and played a special request song for us, and it sounded amazing! Would 100% recommend for any event!

We recently celebrated our daughter's wedding on the roof top of the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Chicago, I, father of the bride, could not have been more impressed by the professionalism, quality and showmanship of this band! Our guests loved the performance. Kudos to Marlon and Lillian for driving the bus! Special shout out to Kai. Loved riding the elevator with you!

WOW! What an amazing job done by the blue water kings. Hands down the best money we spent on our wedding. This was definitely a splurge well spent. They played multiple custom requests for our ceremony and absolutely killed it at the reception. Owen was great to work with as our contact person and genuinely cared about our special day. We could not have been happier.

My husband and I hired a 7-piece band from BWK for our wedding reception, as well as to DJ our ceremony and cocktail hour. Taylor was our lead contact, and was also one of the vocalists and the MC for the night. The good: The quality of the band was great. We felt that all the members of the band were really talented, and they did a great job of picking a mix of Frank Sinatra type music during dinner, and wedding "classics" and more modern pop for dancing. We got a lot of compliments from our guests about the band! The bad: The music for our wedding processional was played incorrectly, which was really upsetting. We had provided Taylor with extremely clear instructions that grandparents would process to the background music that was already playing while guests were being seated, and that the processional song would start AFTER the grandparents were done processing. This was outlined in our planning page, discussed during our "Greenlight" meeting, and also outlined in the timeline provided by our coordinator. Instead, Taylor started the processional song when the grandparents began walking, and then switched to the bridal entrance song when my husband started down the aisle. By the time the rest of the wedding party had finished processing, the song was done and had to be restarted for my entrance. But even this wasn't executed smoothly- rather than just starting the song over immediately, he first started playing our upbeat "exit" song before realizing his mistake and going back to the bridal entrance song. Additionally, Taylor forgot that after our grand entrance at the reception, my husband and I were then going to cut the cake, prior to welcome speeches being given. Instead, he started to announce my dad's welcome speech while we were in the middle of cutting cake. Again, this had all been outlined in our planning page, "Greenlight" meeting, and was detailed in the timeline provided to our vendors by the coordinator. We never received an apology about these issues, or even an acknowledgement that a mistake was made. It's particularly frustrating that we paid $250 for ceremony DJ service, only to have it messed up. Overall- I'd recommend BWK if you're purely looking for a musically talented band at your wedding, but I wouldn't trust them with ceremony DJ services. Get a friend or family member to do it. I would also recommend asking whoever will be MC'ing the night to "teach back" the timeline to you so that you can confirm they understand the order of events and what to announce when.

Highly recommend BWK as the planning process was very easy and extremely organized. On top of that, the band was incredible. They took all our suggestions and were extremely accommodating to make it unique to us. All of our guests were raving about them and we couldn’t have asked for a better band!

People that don’t dance were cutting a rug. They’re music is amazing and people who know a lot about music we’re saying how good they were. Best way to get the energy going, hire BWK!!! Tony was amazing and helped plan the whole schedule.

The band sounded GREAT at our wedding! The MC was phenomenal, and our point of contact was very easy to get in touch with. The only thing we were a little disappointed with was our set list. We were given the opportunity to list five “MUST HAVE” song requests. The band didn’t play one of the five. We were also able to list as many likes /dislikes as we wanted to supply the band with when building their set list. Many of our likes were avoided. There was one song on the “likes” list (that the crowd was begging the band to play all night) that my contact point explicitly stated “would DEFINITELY be played at some point throughout the night, whether live or prerecorded.” It wasn’t played. On our “dislike” list, we asked for no current/pop country unless specifically stated in our ”likes.” This request was ignored as well. While I definitely do recommend this band , I wish I felt like my requests and likes were a little more present at my wedding.
