I booked my trial with this other hair & makeup artist (HMUA) and unfortunately, was really disappointed in the quality of work. 1) I was asked to make a Pinterest board so I spent a few hours on it and the HMUA showed up without ever having looked at it (she even started to do my makeup without asking any questions or asking to see inspo photos... I had to stop and show her) 2) My airbrushed foundation was very orange (it took me asking the HMUA to redo it three times to match my skintone and even she admitted it was orangey). 3) I asked for minimal eyeliner (and provided Pinterest photos as examples) yet the HMUA gave me a thick cat eye (had to ask to redo it). This made me question if she was even listening to me. :-/ 4) My half-updo didn't last more than 2 hours of minimal walking inside around my house (multiple pieces started falling out of the updo). 5) The HMUA took no before/after photos and no notes -- which made me wonder, how is she going to replicate this look on my wedding day if she has no record of what she did? I understand this is why we hold trials, but I was really disappointed. I chose to cancel my booking with them because I wasn't confident I'd feel comfortable or feel my best on my wedding day with this HMUA's work. I trust that Suzy's work is amazing based on her portfolio & these ratings. What I wish I knew: if you book with any one else other than the owner, I highly recommend asking for their portfolio & doing a call with them prior to booking.

a natural glam look that I felt very comfortable in! She has a lovely studio in Oxnard where I went for my HMU trial. She spent an extra hour with me re-doing hair styles & eyeshadows until I felt comfortable with where we landed. I appreciated her patience and her nimbleness when on the day of my wedding I wanted to nix airbrush makeup and opt for a lighter look. She perfectly executed my hair from inspiration photo to real life and made moms and bridespeople look gorgeous. Suzy and Alejandra were such a chill duo to work with – the day getting ready with them was stress free and we felt beautiful. When my mom didn’t love her hairstyle initially, Suzy had multiple recommendations to adjust. My mother in law didn’t love her hair at any of her other sons’ weddings, but was delighted by how her hair turned out for this wedding! One of my bridesmaids liked them so much that she hired them for her own wedding next month. Can’t wait to get my HMU done by them again for her wedding!

artist that I had a trial with was going to be available. They said yes. I then find out two weeks out from my wedding that my artist is no longer with the company, and that due to my new artist being out of town (and NOT FLYING IN UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING) that I would not get a new trial. Unacceptable. After pushing for a back up plan in case the artist's flight was cancelled, the owner came back to me and said that Sammie the artist changed her flight and was able to fly in early to give me a trial at 4pm the night of our rehearsal dinner. She also said she would be including the new trial on the house as the artist initially booked had left. The artist (Sammie) was amazing - me and my two girls LOVED her. Would highly recommend! Unfortunately, I then got an email last night (about 4 days after my wedding) with an invoice for the new trial. She even tossed in a $50 discount. I'm sorry, WHAT? I quoted the email where she offered to throw it in and she came back basically saying "oops, I forgot.." Luckily she waived it again... but then the final straw was when she responded again saying that I didn't need to be RUDE on my email + that she's only human. Honestly, I understand. We're all human and make mistakes. But you're a business owner and the fact that you had the nerve to call your client rude after I dealt with you throughout all the changes is mind boggling. Without any change in business practices, I would NOT recommend.

y big day! I also loved the ability to upload info and ask questions via your specific bridal portal. Everything ran smoothly on the day and up to it. Due to the size of uur group, we had another amazing hairstylist and makeup artist on the day! They were great and had all the supplies to come to you and make you and your group comfortable/ beautiful. Definitely recommend!

responsive and supportive before and after the engagement shoot! They helped me brain storm my vision and answered any and all questions I had. I worked specifically with Suzy who was incredibly kind and flexible. She made me feel so special and I am so thankful for her help! I look forward to using Blush and Bangs for my wedding day as they will help myself and my beautiful bridal party get ready!

I was so impressed how they were able to answer mine and all of my bridesmaids needs. I just can't get over the quality of their work! You will not be disappointed if you hire them. Also, leading up to the day, Megan was great with scheduling, communication and being flexible!

Sammie was my makeup artist who did my trial as well as my makeup for my wedding AND my mom, mother-in-law, and sister and she did a FANTASTIC job! Megan and Sammie were very professional, Sammie was on time to all appointments, and very sweet and fun to work with. I am soooo happy I decided on Blush and Bangs for my wedding makeup!

ere supposed to go in my hair, so Sammie used flowers that my husband sent to me that morning and whipped out an amazing look! Also, she helped put on a couple girls' fake lashes when we were running short on time even though I only hired her for hair. Sammie- I love you and thank you for truly being my favorite vendor!!

y comfortable. The look he did on her was something that she would not normally try on her own, but it came out AMAZING! Her eyes popped with color and shimmer. She loved the look so much. Felix was very professional. He continued to check in with her to bounce ideas off of her and see what she was comfortable with. He also checked in with me (the mom) to get feedback. When he did the final reveal for her and let her see the finished look, She was shocked at what an amazing job he did. He was so sweet to ask her if there was anything that she wanted to add or change and was very accomidating with adding more highlighter so she had more shine. I will reccomend Blush & Bangs to anyone looking for a great experiance. I highly reccomend Felix as a makeup artist.

to answer the many questions I had. Kristine did my makeup and my bridesmaids makeup the day of and she is amazing! So kind, so talented and so professional. I felt beautiful and wasn't worried about having too much makeup on that I didn't look like myself. She really listened to what I was wanting and got the look down perfectly! I would hire them over and over again!

Everyone looked beautiful and loved their makeup :) it was hot that day and we were worried about our makeup, but even at the end of the night everyone still looked fresh. I have had my hair and makeup done in the past for modeling shoots and it’s never looked as good as it did on my wedding day by blush and bangs. I’m so impressed they did such a good job with such a range of hair and skin types for all my bridesmaids. 100% would recommend to anyone! They’re the best!

I wanted day-of following a few concerns at my trial. And, due to her diligence, everything was perfect on the day of my wedding. Both women were professional, fun to be around, and patient with the chaos surrounding them in the bridal sweet. I would 100% work with Megan again given the opportunity.

Plus a little extra pizzaz that comes from already knowing the end result before you begin. I was super picky, and super thrilled. She also was able to work with my bridal party and the moms, making them feel beautiful and customized their looks.

's sweet and very easy to talk to. One thing I noticed is that she doesn't try to push the look she wants but enhances the look the client wants and makes it even better than expected. I highly recommend her. She has great skills and an awesome personality!!!! By far the best make up artist I have hired.

everyone done on time even though we threw a monkey wrench in the schedule by adding a few extras. She made us all look our very best without making us not look like ourselves, which was very important to me. She was so sweet and easy to work with. She even accommodated my schedule and cam to my home for the makeup trial. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to get their makeup done for any occasion!
