Blush on the Blvd Salon Tara was my make up artist. At my bridal trial she made me so comfortable and made a woman that rarely wears make up want to change her mind lol. She provided services on site (before the crack of dawn) and was so pleasant, friendly, and professional. We laughed, exchanged stories, vibed to music and had a splendid time. I’m not sure why it was necessary for you to say you missed out because of me. I loved working with this vendor until I encountered some changes and needed flexibility. I initially planned on going to their salon for bridal make up the day of my wedding. Then my hair vendor changed a few months out so I asked if they could come to my site. I found out they refuse makeup at my site because the lighting is bad and that they were no longer offering that option. Understandable. Due to my vendor change for hair services I could not make it to their salon for my original wedding day appointment. I paid for a trial and the day of make up in full. The contract states no refunds so I asked if they could do my bridal makeup for one of my pre-wedding events instead. They were unable to accommodate that, understandable, and I received the message below. “Unfortunately, the services are for the original date booked only. We’ve actually lost out on working with other big bridal parties because we were blocked for your date.” I understand the policy is that services are for the original date booked but I’m not sure why it was necessary for you to say you missed out because of me. I’m sorry for making you lose out by booking. I have lost out as well being I paid for services I did not receive in full. I would recommend giving brides a minimum book amount if you are looking for a way to secure certain profits. I was just trying to book a makeup artist for my wedding day. I never intended to make you miss out on big wedding parties. I hope all works out well for you in the future.

My wedding was October 12, 2019 so I recognize how late I am in submitting this review however, the reason I've partly remembered to review BOTB over a year and a half later is because I periodically think back to how I looked and felt on my wedding day and so much of that was because of Tara and BOTB. I am not a huge makeup wearer but I still truly never had felt and looked so amazing as I did on my wedding day. BOTB was super communicative and while there were hiccups in communication along the way, Tara and the other MUA still showed up on time, ran ahead of schedule, and made everyone look and feel amazing. My trial with Tara was so laid back and she made me feel so comfortable with not being as knowledgeable about makeup. I cannot express how excited I was to find a black-owned MUA that predominately did black and brown skin tones. Booking BOTB was one of the best decisions and I can't wait to utilize them again for another occasion.

Blush on the Boulevard helped to make my special day, just that way. The team was on time, kept great time management, and listened to my bridal party and my styles and needs. Tara was especially awesome. I absolutely loved my makeup, and felt heard. I felt like she was one of the bridal party because she made me feel so comfortable. I don't have enough good things to say about Jamie and Blush on the Boulevard!! I love makeup and wear it everyday, so I was definitely wanting to take my look up a notch for my wedding! After I went to 5 different MUAs who didn't understand the glam look I was going for, I was beyond THRILLED when Jamie did! From my very first visit, she completely understood my vision - dramatic eyes, sharp brows, strong contour - AND she color matched me perfectly even with a spray tan! I truly felt like a queen on my wedding day, and my bridesmaids looked amazing as well - we all wish Blush on the Boulevard could do our make up every day! I’m really not sure if there are words to even describe Tara. I’m a person who doesn’t wear makeup so i was very nervous about changing my actual “look”. During our consultation we discussed all of my concerns but what was very interesting is the vibes, the good energy and just get in general. We were talking like we’ve known each other for years and we just met. She’s a true artist who’s amazing at her craft. Very professional, pays attention to detail, price affordable, business oriented, and doesn’t make you feel like you’re just another dollar. Tara and team are amazing. She had me and my crew looking flawless! My makeup looked great from the beginning to the end of the night even after sweating on the dance floor. I didn't even want to take it off when it was time to go to sleep. And Tara and Jamie arrived early and were very professional and personable. All my ladies enjoyed working with them.

As someone who works in the industry, it makes me sad that I even have to leave this review. I reached out to this company in March 2019 regarding bridal makeup for a wedding on May 26th. From the beginning, I was very clear that the services would only be for some of the bridesmaids as a specific artist was requested by the bride and confirmed for her plus the parents and Maids of Honor. I also provided all the information regarding location, glam schedule allowing for 45 minutes per appointment (and advised them to let me know if more time was needed), and inquired about payment options. I received a quote on 3/22. On 3/25 Tara followed up and I told her I was waiting on the bride’s approval and would confirm the quote as soon as I had the ok. On 4/25 I accepted the quote. I also sent a separate email to confirm that I had accepted the quote and also asked if there was an alternate payment method avail as to avoid the cc fee. I never received a response. On 5/14 I received an email saying “Sorry for the delay, are you still in need of an artist?” I responding saying yes and that I thought it was confirmed when I accepted the quote. I was then informed that they had just seen the email and that Tara’s plane doesn’t land until 1:30pm the day of the wedding. I was told that there was some confusion regarding her layover time but that they could provide a replacement artist. A bit disappointed but also understanding that sometimes “things happen”, I told them that we were fine with a replacement artist but that I would like for her to communicate with the other artist we confirmed to ensure that the looks are consistent. This is actually standard in the glam industry. There seemed to have been confusion because the person responding kept referring to me as the bride and saying that they typically don’t talk to the bridesmaids before the wedding at all. I reiterated that I wanted the two ARTISTS to speak and that she didn’t need to speak with the bridesmaids at all. She also said she would send over the invoice so that I could pay and secure everything. I never received an invoice. They then asked additional questions such as location, what time we needed to be ready etc, all things that were previously discussed and provided. I provided all the information again and once the representative understood that there was another artist, that’s when things got worse. She asked who the other artist was on 5/15. I responded with the artist’s name, said she’s from Chicago, and asked again if we could connect them prior to the wedding. This was the last communication I received from this place. I reached out again on 5/17 asking for the invoice, no response. I followed up again on 5/19 asking when I should expect the invoice, how to pay, when we could connect the artists, and when I could get the contact info for them to give to the wedding planner, again, no response...less than a week before the wedding! The lack of communication was extremely unprofessional. All in all, this experience was horrible and could have been much worse if I did not have clients willing to help out with the “pickle” they put us in.

I had my wedding in stl this past September. I would be doing a disservice to anyone by not recommending Blush on the Boulevard. They understood my vision and delivered! To this day I can’t get over how amazing my makeup looked on both days, and all my bridesmaids looked amazing as well. Jaime is a rock star!

First of all, Tara is the sweetest person ever and so personable! Her and her team took care of myself and 9 bridesmaids and did an amazing job! I have been going to Tara for my makeup for several years. Even when I moved to Kanas City, I still got my make-up done by Tara for special events back in St. Louis when I visited. When I got engaged I knew immediately I wanted Tara to be the MUA for me and my bridal party. I booked her a year in advance because I didn't want anyone else to get my date. What I love about her make-up is that is reveals a naturally enhanced you, even with a full face done with contouring and lashes. My bridal party love their makeup. Many of them had been in other weddings recently with different MUAs and they said Tara was the best hands down. My mom and mother-in-law looked amazing and both wished Tara lived in their cities. I flew her out to Dallas and paid for her hotel for the wedding weekend because she is soooo worth it to have the naturally glam look for my wedding. I didn't feel overly made up and the products she use are not heavy. I can't wait to get back to St. Louis so she can do my make-up again!

Tara took me and my wedding party on as clients only a month before my wedding day after another artist was extremely unprofessional and bailed on me. In the consultation Tara asked all the right questions and was very patient with me-- I had never had my makeup done before. On the wedding day she arrived on time and setup her station in my hotel suite and moved through my mom, mother in law and 5 bridesmaids and everyone looked amazing and was ready on time for photos. The party was made up of many skin tones ( white, black, latina and asian) and I was a bit concerned that she would be able to do everyone's makeup because of the wide range but she reassured me and EVERYONE looked beautiful just like she said. Her prices are comparable to other makeup services but her work is utterly outstanding and a step above the rest. She is a true professional and she made me look amazing for my special day! I can't wait for another excuse to go have my makeup done by Tara. I highly highly recommend Tara and Blush on the Boulevard.

To say Tara is a great MUA is an understatement. Tars is the EPITOME of MUAs. I had the privilege of securing her for both my engagement photos and my wedding day. Both sessions, I had no idea of the look I was going for. All I knew was I wanted to look absolutely amazing and Tara delivered beyond my expectations! For my wedding day, I remember looking in mirror (while still wearing my bonnet) and thinking "WOW." You know your MUA is EVERYTHING when you can rock a bonnet (while awaiting final touches for hair) & still spark that type of reaction. I looked and felt like a million bucks! I also had a 2nd dress for the reception. Tara came up with a look that complimented both. She was also very thoughtful and sent me with a lip color that totally transformed me for my 2nd look.
