We got married at Castle Farms on December 30, 2019. Amanda and Karissa did my (bride’s) hair and makeup, plus 4 bridesmaids’ hair. They arrived promptly (even though Amanda had to deal with a minor windshield malfunction and 8 inches of fresh snow!) and worked quickly. We finished getting ready with plenty of time to get to the venue, and they listened to exactly what each of us asked for and really did well. My makeup stayed on all night and my hair only lost a few strands (though Karissa made sure we had extra bobby pins to fix any problems throughout the evening). They’re also both very sweet and talented professionals, and they were very straightforward with pricing which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend working with them!

Amanda and Karissa were fantastic. Their onsite service makes the wedding day a breeze. They are so professional and their skills are unmatched. They are by far the best in Northern Michigan for hair and makeup! I can't thank you enough, everything was perfect!

Finding a hair stylist was one of the hardest parts of planning a wedding in 8 months. Karissa was an absolute godsend. I honestly got complemented more on my hair and hair piece than I did on my wedding dress. My bridesmaids felt so beautiful and danced the night away without anything falling out of place. She is incredible, book her now.

Amanda has some serious skill when it comes to make up! She made me feel and look the way a bride should, radiant and beautiful. Amanda went above and beyond with my trial and on our wedding day. She arrived early and even asked if she could pick us up anything on the way! She was always quick to respond and helpful if anything needed to be changed. Amanda works efficiently and is just a blast to be around! Mine and my maid of honors makeup stayed flawless throughout the whole day and late into the night. Amanda & Karissa are the best. I have been trying to come up with a review for over a week, and what it boils down to is this; if you are planning your wedding in the Northern Michigan area, you MUST contact Blushed. During my hair trial, it became clear that I would need clip-ins to achieve the style I wanted. Before Karissa got done explaining everything, Amanda had literally taken her own clip-in our of her hair and was handing it over to see how it looked. On the day of the wedding, I have never felt prettier, and my bridesmaids and mother loved their hair and make-up. Thank you, Amanda & Karissa!!

Blushed Beauty was amazing! Hair & makeup was kind of a big deal since it was an out of town wedding. Amanda & Karissa really did so great on the day. They drove to Traverse City and arrived well before schedule. They made me feel like I was in good hands. Amanda and Karissa did a great job on my wedding day! They got on site even earlier than I did, and started working on my mother in law’s hair right away. They did 5 people’s hair and 3 people’s make up within 3 hours, I was impressed how fast they worked based on the quality of their work. My make up held on for the whole night and it looked amazing, especially the eye lashes. I was a little worried about my make up cuz I’m Asian with single eyelid, but Amanda totally killed it. My hair is also not very easy to curl but Karissa did a fantastic job, she put a lot of bobby pin in my hair so it held up great. I love my half up half down hair! I would definitely recommend these two for your big day! Thank you guys so much!

Karissa is amazing! She did my hair for my wedding day, as well as my six bridesmaids and my mom - we all loved our looks and they held all day and night! Karissa is so sweet and down to earth and was so fun to get ready with. I'd definitely recommend her to all Northern Michigan brides!

I can't say enough how great it was to work with Blushed beauty! Amanda and Karisa were so great to work with. being able to come to our venue was perfect. we didn't have to rush around and drive out of our way to get hair and makeup done. our wedding was a semi-destination on lake charlevoix so I (the bride) was unable to have a trial. the day of they took exactly what I envisioned and brought it to life! my make up stayed all day, even while I was dancing all night. my hair never moved once. my hair doesn't hold curl well and my whisps in the front of my face stayed all night. my mom and 4 bridesmaids LOVED working with Amanda and Karisa. we had a blast listening to 90s jams and laughing the whole morning. and blush Karisa' s heart, she just had a baby 3 weeks before and you wouldn't never even know. every time someone was done with their makeup we couldn't believe how amazing they looked, yet still looked like then. I recently recommend the eyelashes for the maids, makes a big difference. I must say, they work quick cuz we had plenty of time to relax before we had to get dresses. they even did an amazing job on my 2 flower girls. make them look like 2 princesses. If you're looking for an onsite beauty team, Amanda and Karisa are the ones for you're big day.

Amanda is phenomenal!!!! I had my trial two weeks before my wedding and she did a great job, but after wearing it all day I decided to do some small tweaks to the overall look. The day of the wedding I sprung it on her that I wanted to go a different look with my eyes so I showed her two inspiration pics and she absolutely nailed it! She was fun, she was professional, punctual, and super flexible. I honestly looked so elegant, gorgeous, and most of all bridal. My bridesmaids and maid of honors were also thrilled with their makeup. My mom and my husbands mom looked so glamorous without being overdone. Thank you Amanda for making me picture perfect for my big day!!'

Amanda is really sweet, and I wish I could leave a better review for her- but all-in-all, I was underwhelmed with my wedding day makeup. She did a better job on my maid of honor than me (the bride). I partially blame myself for not having pictures of what I wanted, but I had read somewhere that she would provide me some options. What I ended up with at first was really bad, I was very unhappy. She did her best to fix it, but short of washing my face and starting over (which there wasn't time for), there was only so much that could be done. The final result was just so-so. I expected my makeup to look the most beautiful it possibly could, but that just wasn't the case. Now that my wedding has passed and I look back on the photos, my makeup was clearly melting and smudging by the end of the night (and it was not a particularly hot or sweaty day). Again, I'm sorry to leave this review because Amanda is a very nice person- but in my case, what I received didn't measure up to the glowing reviews on this page, unfortunately. My advice- be prepared with photos of exactly what you want.

If you have the opportunity to book Blushed beauty for your wedding you could not make a better decision. Amanda was phenomenal to work with, incredibly responsive to e-mails, organized and has great communication. As an out of town bride, she was willing to work with my limited schedule. Amanda is extremely talented and transformed my make up vision into a style that fit me perfectly. Amanda went above and beyond, accommodating last minute changes and add ons. Girls are not easy to work with but every single person in our wedding party was thrilled with their make up. I cannot thank Blushed beauty enough for making my wedding day so perfect and stress free!

The most perfect hair and makeup condo. I never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day and it was all thanks to these girls. I am an out of state bride and was very nervous to just have to pick someone. I looked at tons of reviews and decided to go with them. Blushed Up North did not disappoint. They are everything you would want on your wedding day and then some. Extremely nice. Extremely professional. Always on time. Listens to what you want. Does an amazing job. We were very happy with BLUSHED! Karissa did an OUTSTANDING job with my bridal updo and let me tell you, I was extremely particular. My hair turned out amazing and I received compliments all night!! Amanda made me feel absolutely BEAUTIFUL on our wedding day! I don't wear much makeup day-to-day but she made me feel stunning. And let me be the first to tell you, these ladies are the sweetest! They made the morning fun but also still very relaxing!

I can't say enough good things about Amanda! She is beyond sweet, great at responding quickly via text or email, and did an AMAZING job! I had 12 girls for her to do makeup for and she was able to get us all done in 4 hours and make everyone look gorgeous! We were all super happy with how everything turned out! She travelled to us, has such a bubbly personality, and wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending her!! Amazing, amazing, amazing! I am normally someone who ends up fixing my makeup after someone else does it for me and I didn't need to fix a thing!

Simply stated, Amanda is FABULOUS! We contracted with her to provide make-up services to a bridal party of five, along with the two "moms". Amanda manages her business so well -- easy contract/billing system, effective communication as we planned for "the big day", the trial run months in advance, and the make-up artistry on the wedding day.  Apart from the business side of things, we very much appreciated her interaction style -- making each one of us feel comfortable, relaxed, and pampered.  She asked the right questions about what each of us wanted in our make-up application, and offered options and suggestions as we went along. The girls were absolutely gorgeous, and "the look" photographed so well!  We all received so many compliments on our make-up and it held up under the heat, wind, and partying that continued into the wee hours of the following morning as the post-reception send-off was extended. Thank you, Amanda, for a job so VERY well done!

Great services! Amanda was very professional and did a beautiful job. We had 7 people have makeup done and everyone was satisfied. She was more expensive than previous makeup applications that I've had but I wanted a guarantee of well done makeup on my wedding day, so I splurged a bit! It was a little difficult to get a hold of her to schedule the services, but once I was scheduled she was easy to communicate with.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about AMANDA BUCKINGHAM and BLUSHED. Amanda was amazing! She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day. She arrived at the location 10 minutes before I got there and had all of her make up set up. She promptly began discussing make up options and going through some photos for reference. When she was all done she waited until I put on my wedding dress and went back and did final touches. I felt so beautiful. She also made herself available to my bridesmaids. Even though we did not discuss doing make-up for them a couple of them decided they wanted her to do their make up. She was very flexible and accomadating. She made me and all my ladies feel beautiful!

There are no words to describe the amazing job the Amanda did for my wedding! I wish I could give her 10 starts. My husband and I had to plan our wedding from Chicago which was a task in itself. I was a bit worried about choosing a make up artist before meeting them or even getting a trial done. When I emailed Amanda for the first time she automatically made me feel so comfortable and confident that everything was going to be the way I had imagined! She even referred me to her friend for our hair who was FANTASTIC!!! Amanda was so friendly and understood exactly what I wanted my makeup to look like. When it got closer to the wedding I traveled up north Michigan to meet her and do a trial. The second we meet and started talking we had so much in common I felt like we had been friends for years! She always looks beautiful and her make up looks so good all the time (you should add her on Instagram!) I can't explain how amazing she was on my wedding day. I woke up and she was already set up in the house and ready for the girls and I. I was so worried because I hadn't slept much that night because of nerves and excitement so i had some bags under my eyes but she reassured me that if I laid with cold patches on my eyes for a little it would go down and if not she had the best stuff to cover it up! Well she was right because you could not tell I hadn't slept much!! She made the morning so fun and exciting!! I didn't even show her the picture of the make up I wanted again she just knew...which was amazing. I wish I could do the whole day over again, she truly made my day so special and made me look beautiful. I highly recommend anyone in the Traverse City or Petoskey area to use her for your wedding day makeup!! Amanda was just awesome. She was right on time and very professional but sweet and personable. Though we did not get to do a trial prior to my wedding day, Amanda knew just what to do. My make-up was perfect for the day and lasted all night. I got compliments all night. Thank you Amanda! I definitely recommend her.

Fantastic artist. I had Amanda do a trial run for my wedding. I almost cried because I felt so beautiful. She did such a flawless job on my makeup and I have extremely problematic skin. My only regret: she was already booked by the time I was able to reserve her. Book asap!

As a bride who really never wears makeup, I thought choosing a makeup artist would be stressful and difficult. However, after finding Amanda through The Knot and chatting with her, all my worries went away. Aside from being the absolute sweetest person, Amanda is truly gifted in her field. I got married July 23rd, and if anyone can remember, it was HOT. However, even after all of the heat and the dancing, my makeup still looked phenomenal. If you're anywhere near northern Michigan, choosing Amanda to do your makeup will be one of the best decisions you make for your wedding!

Amanda did my makeup before, for several parties and I even had lashes applied sometimes, just for fun! I knew she was the girl I wanted when my sister got married. I was the matron of honor in her wedding and I knew Amanda would knock it out of the park. I danced, I cried and at the end of the night my lashes were in tact and my skin flawless. Amanda was AMAZING! I live in Chicago and getting married in Northern Michigan I had to go off of recommendations and communicating through emails. Amanda was very professional and was willing to come on site just to do my makeup. Amanda did an absolutely AMAZING job on my make up. As well as all of my bridesmaids and the mother of the groom. All of my girls were very very happy. My makeup looked flawless all night long (even though breakfast the following morning) She did lashes that looked great and they were so comfortable I forgot I even had them on. She helped make my mother in law (who rarely wears anything more than eyeliner and mascara) feel beautiful and still like feel herself with airbrush.
