She did her best to fix it, but short of washing my face and starting over (which there wasn't time for), there was only so much that could be done. The final result was just so-so. I expected my makeup to look the most beautiful it possibly could, but that just wasn't the case. Now that my wedding has passed and I look back on the photos, my makeup was clearly melting and smudging by the end of the night (and it was not a particularly hot or sweaty day). Again, I'm sorry to leave this review because Amanda is a very nice person- but in my case, what I received didn't measure up to the glowing reviews on this page, unfortunately. My advice- be prepared with photos of exactly what you want.

nned for "the big day", the trial run months in advance, and the make-up artistry on the wedding day.  Apart from the business side of things, we very much appreciated her interaction style -- making each one of us feel comfortable, relaxed, and pampered.  She asked the right questions about what each of us wanted in our make-up application, and offered options and suggestions as we went along. The girls were absolutely gorgeous, and "the look" photographed so well!  We all received so many compliments on our make-up and it held up under the heat, wind, and partying that continued into the wee hours of the following morning as the post-reception send-off was extended. Thank you, Amanda, for a job so VERY well done!

When I emailed Amanda for the first time she automatically made me feel so comfortable and confident that everything was going to be the way I had imagined! She even referred me to her friend for our hair who was FANTASTIC!!! Amanda was so friendly and understood exactly what I wanted my makeup to look like. When it got closer to the wedding I traveled up north Michigan to meet her and do a trial. The second we meet and started talking we had so much in common I felt like we had been friends for years! She always looks beautiful and her make up looks so good all the time (you should add her on Instagram!) I can't explain how amazing she was on my wedding day. I woke up and she was already set up in the house and ready for the girls and I. I was so worried because I hadn't slept much that night because of nerves and excitement so i had some bags under my eyes but she reassured me that if I laid with cold patches on my eyes for a little it would go down and if not she had the best stuff to cover it up! Well she was right because you could not tell I hadn't slept much!! She made the morning so fun and exciting!! I didn't even show her the picture of the make up I wanted again she just knew...which was amazing. I wish I could do the whole day over again, she truly made my day so special and made me look beautiful. I highly recommend anyone in the Traverse City or Petoskey area to use her for your wedding day makeup!! an amazing job, when I didn't have lip-gloss she didn't even hesitate to give me when she used so I could touch up. She made me feel perfect and did exactly what I wanted. If you want a personal experience with someone who really knows what they are doing Amanda is your girl.

She helped make my mother in law (who rarely wears anything more than eyeliner and mascara) feel beautiful and still like feel herself with airbrush. However, after I had gone to try my dress on with my make up I realized that I had to tone down what I had originally wanted to compliment my romantic dress. Amanda didn't skip a beat. She was friendly, fun, and calm - it was like having another friend there getting ready with me! One of the best decisions I made in my wedding planning was hiring Amanda as my make-up artist!

made up. I wanted natural but beautiful and fake lashes but not that you can tell, (and so on.) Not a small order. Amanda didn't flinch and literally was like "Great!" and happily and quickly made me and my bridal party look like SUPERMODELS. Literally one boyfriend got in trouble for drooling over his own (already gorgeous) girlfriend/bridesmaid. ("You don't always think I'm this pretty?") Amanda was so many things -- she was a calm, kind, AWESOME addition to the morning of the wedding, she was a committed service provider whose chief goals were to do a great job and to create MY vision, and she was SO talented! literally looking in the mirror gave me so much confidence and excitement (for a previously nervy bride) and I am already looking forward to our photos! She was so great that as she was leaving I was (1) sad that she had to do and (2) already scheduling a makeup lesson. Do yourselves a favor and book early. <3
