⭐ Brides Beware: Extremely Disappointing Experience with Blushing Gypsy Events
I am a very Type‑A bride, and because we were planning a budget‑conscious wedding, I knew I could han...
dle coordination myself. But I wanted to invest in a coordinator specifically to reduce stress, not add to it. Unfortunately, hiring Kristin Vittorini, owner of Blushing Gypsy Events, did the opposite.
We met Kristin in August 2025 at the Pink Bride Event in Knoxville and signed a contract (with deposit) on August 26th. From that point forward, communication was almost nonexistent. Months went by with no updates, check‑ins, or guidance. I understand a day‑of coordinator may not reach out far in advance, but when we booked her, she promised to be proactive with regular communication. That never happened. I finally reached out in December to schedule our timeline meeting.
Lack of preparation despite providing every detail
For that meeting, I provided everything: vendor contracts, my Canva design boards, Pinterest, and a complete list of décor needed from her. I even created a full diagram of the venue layout with labeled boxes, packing lists for each décor bin, and an itemized breakdown of what went where (“Table #1: 8 chargers, 4 tealights,” etc.). I also listed which items needed to be returned to us. I could not have made my expectations clearer.
She also originally boasted that we would be able to look through her “decor warehouse,” only for us to later be told no clients are allowed in because it’s at her house. Another promise that turned out not to be true.
Consistently slow communication
Kristin claims she is “available at all times” for her brides. In reality, it took her two weeks or more to respond to simple messages. At first, I assumed delays were due to winter storm Fern, but the slow replies continued long after. Even the décor photos she promised after our meeting took weeks — and when they finally came, they were AI‑generated mockups, not real images of décor she owned.
Last‑minute cancellation with no warning
Wanting clarity, I tried to schedule another call to walk through my vision. The day of the meeting, instead of talking, she texted:
“You have a very very detailed decor plan and I’m worried I’m too free spirited and creative… When I’m putting decor out, if I see something doesn’t work I tweak it.”
Before I could even respond, she refunded my deposit on Venmo and canceled our contract — 47 days before my wedding.
She had been our coordinator for over six months and only then admitted she never reviewed the designs she agreed to. She tried to claim I needed more of a “décor setup team,” but if she cannot follow décor instructions, communicate reliably, or commit to a plan, she should not market herself as a wedding coordinator. Coordinators execute a bride’s vision — that is the job. If she only wants creative freedom to “tweak” things based on her personal taste, then she is a stylist, not a coordinator.
Bottom line
A wedding coordinator is a luxury service that many brides can’t afford; the minimum expected is honesty, communication, and reliability. My wedding with my fiancé is about our dream, not someone else’s “Barbie dream house” version. Instead of support and peace of mind, I received uncertainty, slow responses, and a last‑minute cancellation that no bride should ever experience.
Brides, please beware.
