I am so thankful that BJ captured our wedding. Not just the signature moments or family portraits, but the actual feeling and emotion of the day. Even two years later, I can look at my photos and be overwhelmed all over again with the beauty of my perfect day - thanks to BJ and his innate talent.

We loved spending time with BJ. For non models, he made it easy to forget the camera. His photos are so beautiful and he offers flexible options for packages/printing. Mad love for this artist! 😍

Hiring BJ will be the easiest decision you make during your wedding planning process. He is an incredibly talented photographer and a genuinely kind person. Trust me, you want BJ on your team!!! From engagements, to bridals, to spending more time with you on your wedding day than anyone else, BJ makes the whole process fun and easygoing. I’m not sure how he does it, but BJ captures the essence of who you and your significant other are perfectly in photos. Every time I show someone my engagement or wedding photos, they say that the photos show who me and my husband are and what our relationship is. I can not recommend BJ enough! My whole wedding experience would not have been complete without him. He is a light when he walks into the bridal suite on your wedding day! He radiates positivity even when you get married in 100° heat!! BJ is a talented friend, and I feel so lucky to have him capture the important moments of my life.

I love pictures. I love them so much. So, choosing the right person to capture my wedding day was at the top of my wedding “to do” list! I searched around, I stalked photographers on social media, and I inquired with many different photographers. BJ was so quick to respond to me AND he went ABOVE and BEYOND to make it work. The day of the wedding he showed up on time and was present enough to not make the room feel a little awkward with new people snapping pictures... but also out of the way enough so that I still felt like it was just me and my girls in the room getting ready. He gracefully handled the one bump we encountered during the night. I printed off EVERY SINGLE PICTURE he took for a photo album. I also printed off three 16x20 prints and they are gorgeous. When I get more wall space I will be printing more! I had a lot of on the spot requests for certain pictures after the ceremony and he was excited to take them all. The pictures from my wedding are flawless and I have had soooo many compliments on them. I can’t say one negative thing about BJ!

BJ is freaking fantastic! And I really cannot thank him enough for all his work. When we decided to elope, photos of our day became really important to us so we could capture the day for friends and family. We needed a preview so we could print out a shot for our announcements to mail out the next day. He was able to get them to us within just a few hours! Everything went just how I hoped it would. Not being from the area, or having any help, BJ also picked up my bouquet and brought it to the chapel for me. I am so, so thankful. We don’t do a lot of photo shoots (ie: FIRST one!! Haha) and he made everything so much fun. We were so relaxed. I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed our time with him. And I can’t believe how many photos we got back! Each one just as wonderful. I wish we could do it again! BJ, you WILL be taking pictures for us again in the future!!! (And just as a personal side note to BJ - Bill still occasionally lets out a sooooie hahaha) THANK YOU!!!!!

The task of picking a perfect photographer is daunting. I approached it with our vision, interview guide, and a few hours set aside to browse the top photographers in Arkansas. My search came to a quick conclusion as soon as I came across BJ. In fact, to me his work was second to none, and he was the only photographer I even contacted. What I was looking for: as someone who rarely likes how I look in photos, I was looking for a photographer who understands how to capture people at their most beautiful and natural. I’m not a fan of overly posed photos, and wanted someone who had a page with ZERO awkward looking people - not a simple ask! Here’s why BJ was perfect: His communication style: BJ answered my inquiry quickly and with great enthusiasm. I love working with people who are on top of their game, but also down to earth and excited about their jobs. He set aside time to chat on the phone and answer all the questions on my extensive interview guide (and didn’t even poke fun at me once - thanks for that!) His guidance for the shoot: My fiancé and I are no models, and aren’t used to being in front of the camera. Within 5 minutes with BJ, we felt like pros! Mostly because he gave us prompts that put us at ease and brought out our love (as cheesy as it sounds it’s true! How often do you force yourself to stare into the eyes of your love? I actually felt closer to my fiancé after!) His efficiency: BJ turned around beautiful preview photos to us the DAY OF the shoot. I loved them so much I nearly cried! HIS PERSONALITY: I don’t know how he does it, but I feel like BJ is someone who quickly becomes best friends with everyone. He’s so down to earth, funny, and just all around a pleasure to work with. All while being professional. Amazing! HIS PRODUCTS: Again, I’m not someone who usually loves pictures of myself. When I got BJ’s photos of us, my jaw dropped! Not only did he manage to catch us at our best angles, but he truly captured our love. We now have documentation of those in between organic moments that mean the most - a real gift! In summary - book BJ! He is the best of the best. My fiancé and I want to do annual couple shoots because we had so much fun. Even if you’re not engaged or have been married for years, consider booking a couples shoot with him - every stage of your life and love is important and beautiful, and it’s a gift to work with someone who can capture it forever for you!

Oh, how easy this review is to write... BJ is an INCREDIBLY talented photographer. First, he helped my husband capture our proposal. From the words of my (then) fiance, "he kept me calm during the most nerve-wracking moment of my life. That was such a gift." And as a bonus, the pictures were priceless. Wedding: We had a small/ destination/ Colorado wedding and knew that our highest priority was to hire our favorite photographer. BJ captured every important moment and every in-between moment beautifully. When BJ shared our gallery, my husband and I just sat with tears streaming down our face as we relived the best day of our lives. His style is so unique. We already knew to expect greatness from him after he did such an amazing job with our engagements, but he went beyond our expectations. He also provided immeasurable guidance throughout the planning process. He was supportive yet honest with me and helped bring my vision of the perfect wedding to life. You can tell that he pours his heart and soul into this beautiful gift that he has. The warmth and mood carefully curated in his work is beautiful in the moment and is guaranteed to withstand the test of time. BJ and I were acquaintances at the beginning of this adventure, but we ended as close friends. It's hard not to fall in love with BJ's work and the inspiring human being who is he <3.

I truly cannot recommend BJ enough as a wedding photographer! I am so grateful that I found him when I did. He is SO incredibly talented, very flexible and easy to work with. He makes you feel comfortable and brings out emotions when you least expect it (be ready to cry during your engagements!). His prices are very reasonable compared to other photographers I met with, and he is worth every penny. The hard part for me now is deciding which photos to print between the engagements, my bridals, and our wedding photos! Again, if you need a wedding photographer and BJ is available for your date you better jump on it fast, this guy is going to be the most sought-after photographer in Arkansas very very soon!

Love, love, love! I was actually recommended BJ by some other photographers, and I couldn’t be more happy that we got him to shoot our wedding! He came all the way to Georgia for us, and communicated great with me the whole time. Our photos turned out to be more than I could’ve hoped for! Thank you again!!

Five Stars is NOT enough; 10/10!! Have you ever looked at an image and just stared at it for hours, beaming with joy, without ever getting tired of it? Well, that is the reaction you get when looking at your images from working with BJ; I simply can't stop, and yes have even shed some tears. BJ hands down brought our vision to life during our engagement session and not only met but surpassed our dreams with the reality of his insanely, creative talent. We knew we wanted to shoot outdoors, because we love nature, wanted to stick with what was natural for us, and since we are eloping next year to a National Park, adventure is in our blood. With all of that in mind, BJ had the perfect spot for us; so traveling to Nashville was a no-brainer (we are from AR). BJ, hands down has this natural ability to create a shoot that is crafted around the individuals, all while making the session unique by bringing the images to life through an artist perspective, and not to mention how incredibly relaxed he can make you feel during an intimate shoot; it’s as if you’ve known him forever. He’s such an enjoyable delight to be around because not only is he hilarious, but he is just a great human with such a kind soul. You can actually feel the love, the confidence, the heart of the person through the images he captures; and our images did NOT disappoint. His images, the coloring, the details in his craft; everything is simply breathtaking. The moments he captured of us together are ones that we will cherish for a lifetime and we have never been told and by so many people that our images look as if they are set in a "J.Crew" Fall Catalog, so we are VERY happy with ALL of them! Bj Matthews, you are one of a kind! WORK WITH HIM!!!! PERIOD!! YOU WILL BE THRILLED AND GRATEFUL THAT YOU DID!!!

Could we say anything more about BJ than his photos don't already say! Seriously, BJ is so professional but friendly at the same time. We met him first at our engagements but instantly felt like he had known us forever. He is so fun and knows how to make you look naturally beautiful with ease. 5 stars all the way! No hesitation what so ever! BJ has an inherent ability to make you feel comfortable no matter the situation - which really showed in our pictures. BJ took our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, wedding and reception photos - they were unique, beautiful, fun, and the list goes on! Not only did he send us a ton of pictures, but they were all amazing and blew away our expectations! BJ is great - you absolutely cannot go wrong with him! I will never use anyone else! BJ is amazing to work with! Choosing to work with him was by far one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I planned my own wedding and he was available to talk schedules, shot lists, and my creative vision for what I wanted on multiple occasions prior to the event. The ease of working with him brought me peace of mind that everything would work out wonderfully. He brought a second photographer with him to make sure every moment was captured. His quality of service and professionalism is unmatched by photographers I've interacted with at other weddings. He is well worth your wedding photography investment!

We loved working with BJ!! He was happy to travel to Washington, D.C. to shoot our wedding and he brought a second shooter, Allie, who was also a delight. They both were total professionals, worked collaboratively with our videographer, and went with the flow of a long day. We did photos around Washington in addition to the ceremony and dinner, so it was a lot of ground to cover. They did the usual wedding shots of getting dressed, bridal party, ceremony etc, but they also got great candid photos of our friends, family and the celebration. BJ also captured one special moment when we were walking away from the Lincoln Memorial, I spontaneously did a little jump! It was hilarious, fun and a great memory to capture. Plus, there were lots of special shots, using the room around us as a perfect backdrop to set up some gorgeous shots of the bride as well as a couple of tender moments. We wholeheartedly recommend BJ!!

My husband and I decided just a few months before our wedding day to cancel the big wedding we had planned and to have a small, no stress, intimate ceremony/elopement with our closest family. We were very nervous about finding a photographer so close to our date, especially one as talented as BJ-but we got lucky! BJ worked with us every step of the way to create a day that was so special and stress free and he captured our vision for our day tremendously. I cannot recommend him enough-not only is he a flawless photographer but he is a great asset to have during the wedding planning process as well!

I love BJ's passion for capturing love. He is creative, talented, and isn't afraid to "direct traffic"! I have consistently been so impressed with BJ and his ability to make this awkward human feel and look beautiful. Our pictures look natural and not forced or posed - they just show the joy and love we want to communicate. I can give BJ a five-star rating without a single hesitation. Not only did he provide engagement and wedding galleries beyond my best expectations and hopes, but he was also SO great to work with. He is so friendly and comfortable to be around when shooting (which I am thankful for because before I got engaged we had never done professional photographs at all!). If you are an awkward picture poser like me, you have nothing to worry about with BJ. In the midst of all of the wedding stresses (like our DJ not showing up, the rain persisting, etc.), BJ remained focused and calm and always had a plan and creative ideas to make the best of the day. It was amazing knowing I had a photographer I could really count on. When I saw my finished pictures, I was in tears because of how beautiful they were! From the way he works with the natural light, to the angles he chooses, I can honestly say I love every single one of the 550 shots! He truly captured every special moment of my big day, and I will be able to look back on these memories forever! I'm so glad he was my photographer and I will forever be recommending him!

BJ is a dream to work, and makes a long wedding day SO. MUCH. FUN. His attention to detail is refreshing, and his commitment to staying on schedule is a selling point (especially for a wedding planner)! Between his skill and professionalism, referring him to my clients is an easy task!

When I hired BJ, I didn't know what I had gotten myself into. I quickly realized that he's the kind of soul you wish to know your whole life. He made us laugh, made us comfortable, and made it easy to let go, allowing for genuine beautiful moments to emerge. Going back, I would've paid the money for more time if it meant extending our wealth of images and fond memories. I am glad to now call him a friend.

BJ was literally the best decision I made when it came to my wedding!! He was so easy to work with, so nice and very professional. My pictures were more then I ever imagined and he got them back to me so quick and the packaging he sent my USB in was the BEST!! It's the little things that make things so special! I would tell everyone to book him asap!!

BJ was everything we could have asked for and more. He kept the bride and mothers calm before the wedding and got excellent shots. During and after the wedding you would not even realize he was there. He was very professional at all times and did not make you feel rushed ever. I would book him again in a heartbeat. While something is bound to go wrong at every wedding, rest assured with BJ, your photographer will not be it.

I wanted our wedding to be a relaxed, and fun memory for us all. And B. Matthews photo played a major role in making that happen. Bj was SO easy to work with. BJ shot my daughter's wedding and did a fantastic job. He felt like a member of the family by the end of the day. We're a rowdy group and hard to control sometimes, but he blended right in and managed to keep everyone happy during photos. He got so many great candid shots that we weren't expecting that we treasure so dearly now. If we had it to do all over again, we would 100% hire him again for any family wedding. If you want someone that truly cares about the work and the couple and their families, BJ is your guy! You won't regret it!

BJ was the absolute best! From beginning to end, he was a dream. Always willing to answer questions and help out! We couldn't have been happier with our pictures ( I mean, come on! Look at his work!) But BJ's personality and friendliness is just the cherry on top! We will cherish our beautiful pictures forever!
