I adore this company and Valerie for sending me the godsends of hair and makeup, Liz (hair) and Nik (makeup)! I was going to do both of these things on my own but decided to hire professionals...and I'm so glad I did. For any bride, a trial is absolutely necessary - please trust me! I was able to tweak small things and let the artists know how to update the look, and on the day they delivered! It was so nice to have already met and worked with them at the trial, and then I felt super comfortable on my wedding day. Both artists were incredibly warm and kind (and TALENTED!), and I would recommend them for any event where you need to look your best! Thank you to the whole team at Bobbie Pins & Blush!!

This review is a long time coming only due to not having too many professional pictures of my wedding to show off the amazing work they've done for me. From my very 1st message with Valerie I instantly felt comfortable and that I was in good hands. I needed a make up artist for me and my bridal party and was so happy with Candace! She made me feel at ease and gave me the flawless, natural look I was going for. I wanted to look like me but elevated and she delivered just that. I would definitely book her again!

There were many things throughout wedding planning that my wife and I knew were important to us, first among them being that we wanted to find vendors that did not make us, as a lesbian couple, feel othered or like a deviation to the norm. Where possible, we especially wanted to hire other LGBTQ+ owned vendors. We knew that we would likely spend a lot of time in the morning getting ready with whoever we hired for hair and makeup, and it was important to us to feel comfortable and like we didn’t have to explain ourselves to anyone. On top of that, my wife Rainey and I both have very curly hair and a hesitancy to allow people to style/touch our hair if they aren’t familiar with how to care for it. Bobbie Pins & Blush felt like such a breath of fresh air in both celebrating who we are as a couple and delivering a final product for our hair and makeup that felt polished and authentic to ourselves.
Valerie and Candace put us immediately at ease during our trial for hair and makeup for the both of us. They both put so much time and care into hearing what we each wanted. I (Emma) wanted my hair mostly how it is naturally but pulled away from my face, and my makeup minimal and clean without being too extremely feminine. My wife (Rainey) wanted a similar hair style of polishing and styling her natural curls, as well as a more glamorous and feminine makeup look. After our hair and makeup trial, we were thrilled to work with them on our wedding day.
They provided hair and makeup for both of us brides, and either hair or makeup for all 10 of our bridesmaids and 3 additional family members. They were responsive, on time, and accommodating to all our requests. Every single person they styled left feeling beautiful and radiant.
On top of the talent and care they offered to us and our family and friends, they were overall so fun to be around. It felt like friends hanging out together, listening to our favorite music and laughing. We felt like we could be our authentic selves and in return we got to see them too. They made our morning fun and easy as we went into our wedding night.
Lastly, our hair and makeup held up beautifully through our ceremony, dinner, and most impressively a LONG night of dancing. Our hair, our makeup, and our lashes withstood hair whipping and head banging and twirling and laughing and crying with ease. We danced the night away and looked good doing it. We couldn’t have been happier with the care we received. I highly recommend Bobbie Pins & Blush for any event you may need hair and makeup services. Thank you.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the team at Bobbie Pins & Blush! I’d already known how talented and professional Val was, and the moment I met the rest of my hair and makeup team (Candace, Addy, and Nik), I felt completely at ease. They listened to my likes/dislikes and helped me refine my vision, then brought it to life beautifully on wedding day. My hair and makeup were flawless and lasted all day, even through 100 degree Palm Springs heat, happy tears, and a wild dance floor!
Their attention to detail was incredible, and they truly made me and my bridal party feel like the best versions of ourselves. The team was not only professional but also warm and fun, creating a joyful atmosphere that set our day up for complete success! Val and Candace were absolutely amazing! They made me and the entire bridal party look and feel so beautiful and confident. Their attention to detail was incredible—my makeup was flawless and natural, and my hair held up perfectly all day long.

Valerie and her team did SUCH an amazing job for hair and makeup for my big day. I had a large bridal party of 8+ girls, and they all absolutely loved their hair and makeup. Valerie did hair for each bridesmaid and I on the day of my wedding. She did a fabulous job on each of us! I had an idea of what I wanted but I didn't have a picture but Valerie still did an amazing job and my hair came out perfect. I was worried about having 6 girls to 1 hair stylist but that didn't stop Valerie. She made a schedule and stuck to it so we could be finished in a timely manner. She was great!

I cannot begin to sing the praises of Candace (makeup) and Addy (hair). I was a guest at a wedding and wanted to get things done by someone with skills that were far superior to mine, and they did not disappoint. I had a vision, and they were able to execute it flawlessly, all the while having fun and chatting it up.
Valerie, the owner, was also amazing. While not there in person, her communication prior to the appointment and flexibility in changing the time mere days before were greatly appreciated.

Valerie is a life saver!!! our hairstylist fell through last minute and I was panicked about finding a new stylist in such a short timeframe. Valerie was incredibly helpful and communicative to work with us to not only do our hair on our wedding day but squeeze in a trial for my wife and I. I am so glad our other stylist didn't work out because Valerie and Em were incredible! Our bridal party adored them and they made the day so simple and relaxed. I was beyond impressed by how quickly they completed everyones hair and were able to achieve different looks requested by my wife and I and our bridesmaids. Booking vendors for your wedding as a queer couple can be nerve-racking so having such a loving and accepting team helping us get ready really made the day!
If you want stylist who are talented, communicative, patient, professional, respectful, fun, and kind, you found them :)

Incredibly talented, has a diverse skill set for different types of looks, and works well with the whole bridal party (bride, bridesmaids with different styles, flower girls, and moms). Valerie and her make-up assistant worked incredibly efficiently on the morning of my wedding when we had a tight timeline to get 10 people done up. Nonetheless, Valerie finished on time and everyone in my bridal party was so happy with their look. She is reasonably priced too. Not using Valerie for your hair and make-up may be the biggest regret you have in your wedding planning process! 10/10 recommend using her!

Valerie made my entire princess dreams come true!! It was such a dream to work with her, she’s very professional and easy to communicate with which was my biggest concern as this being one of the most important days of my life. Hands down the best hairstylist ever! I usually have a hard time finding someone who can understand my hair but Val worked her magic and the results are amazing! She’s also very knowledgeable and creative and up to date in regards new styles and products. I highly recommend her if you want to slay.

Hands down the best I’ve ever looked & felt ! Valerie was so friendly, professional and beyond talented ! I was unsure how I wanted to wear my hair and makeup and she guided me into being the me ever ! My girls and I still talk about how much we loved her and loved how beautiful we looked and felt. I had a very bohemian wedding and she killed it with all the braids. Talented is an understatement. I recommended her every chance I get and all of my bridesmaids are already planning on using her for their special days !

After a HORRIFIC experience with entrusting a family friend, Val stepped up to the plate and completely hit a grand slam! It was literally like talking to my sister throughout the whole process. Val was always available and open to my new ideas every time I changed my mind. She saw my vision as to how I wanted to look, and made my dreams a reality!

Val has been my go-to hair & makeup artist for events I had to attend for years, so when it was time for my big day there was absolutely NO CONTEST. From my trial, to the big day it felt like she was one of my best friends throughout the entire process, and I never had to stress about how I looked. The way she can match your hair and makeup to your personality is really a skill set I have yet to see with any other stylists. She made me feel beautiful inside out on my most important day.

Val is hands down the best!! She has done my makeup for both of my friends weddings and for my engagement shoot and I have honestly never felt more beautiful. People complimented me all night on all three occasions. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she is just a genuinely awesome person. Can't express the amazingess that is Valerie Harrison I have never felt more beautiful that when I have gotten out of vals chair. She has cut my hair, colored it, done my make up for photo shoot, and so much more. If your looking for someone who will truly go above and beyond for you then she is the right person to go to. I've never left her chair feeling anything less than utterly speechless. Boston lost an amazing stylist and LA gained one of the best!

Val was absolutely amazing with my hair and make up for my wedding. She was professional, personable and a pleasure to have with me while getting ready for my wedding. When I look back at my pictures and wedding video I am so thankful that I found someone to really make my hair and make up vision come true! I don't wear make up often so I was worried that I wouldn't look like myself but Val made sure during my trial that I was comfortable with what she was using for make up and loved how I looked. I would recommend Val for any hair and make up needs but especially for a wedding. She honestly made my day so special and was a joy to have with me during my wedding prep! Val is THE BEST!

Valerie is truly a master of her craft! I was a bridesmaid in a wedding for a friend of mine and didn't get the chance to book with the hair/ makeup artist the rest of the women booked. Valerie was more than accommodating when I reached out! Valerie arrived early to show me the concepts she came up with from my idea and she exceeded my expectations from concept to execution! She is also one of the friendliest people to be around, such great energy! Five stars for Val, would recommend to anyone.

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to the talent Valerie has. She is by far amazing and I don't think my wedding day would have been complete without her doing my hair and makeup. The makeup she did was a natural look with an extra glow. Then my hair oh my God I was in love, a side swooped braid that came into this elegant low bun. When I say this I mean it, I never felt so beautiful in my life. I have also recommended her to friends and she has dobe their weddings as well and they all still thank til this day. I swear by Valerie when it comes to hair and makeup and when I need anything done she is always willing to pull through for me!

There really are no words to express how amazing Val is but I'll certainly try! I was lucky enough to book Val for my August 20th wedding to do my hair and make-up, and the make up for my bridesmaids, my mom and my MIL. On our first trial, Val absolutely nailed the make up, it couldn't have been more perfect! I'm one of those picky people who never wears makeup so I takes a lot for me to feel comfortable with a full face on but Val truly made that happen!
We went through a few different hair styles because I'm indecisive and couldn't make up my mind but she stuck with me through every change I made and helped me bring my ideas to life!! The day of my wedding, she showed up right on time ready to make sure everyone looked exactly how they wanted. I felt beautiful on the day of my wedding and I have her to thank for that! I still get complements on my ponytail when people look at my wedding pictures!
Also I feel like it's really important to mention that she is literally one of the funnest people to hang out with while she's getting you all glammed up. There's nothing worse than the awkward small talk when you're getting your hair done or even your make-up done but there is none of that with her! She's so funny and really makes getting ready so much fun!!

Frist she is one hell of a stylist I couldn't for the life of me pick how I wanted my hair done for my wedding I was a mess because i recently lost my mother 7 months before my wedding date an just couldn't pick a hair style with out crying so she asked me to look at a picture of my mom on her wedding day and told me she came up with an idea she wouldn't tell me because she wanted it to be a surprise witch was fine with me when I looked into the mirror (before doing my makeup) I cried because she did my hair the same as my mom's hair was I loved it so much I couldn't stop smiling . She knew what she was doing when she did my make up too because me personally don't wear makeup at all so she had that under control thank you . She also was fantastic with my flower girls one was 4 and the other as 5 she talked to them like they will basically her own kid she made them laugh giggle feel comfortable she made sure the looked great. But my biggest save was when I was about to enter the hall n my daughter puke all over her dress I was so upset I started crying I just honestly wanted to call my wedding off but Val on her own time told me don't worry about it I'll handle it she took my daughters dress off she went into the bathroom and he and scrubbed it for me made sure there was no stains on it at all no smell nothing she's saved my wedding day by saving my daughter's dress because I was to the point where I just want to give up and not even have a wedding she truly is the best I am so thankful that she was the person to do my hair because I guarantee probably no one else would have done the stuff that she did she went out of her way thank you

Val is truly the best! She made me and all of my ladies feel beautiful on my wedding day. From up-dos to makeup, every single aspect of her work is amazing. Each of our makeup/hair were flawless and lasted the entire night! Val seemlessly provided makeup for myself and 10 other people on my wedding day! Not only did she arrive on time, act professional and fun as well as listen to all our needs, she did not hesitate to step in to fix my hair when my hairstylist (from another salon) totally did not get my look right. I would without a doubt recommend Val for make up and hair for any brides big day! She was a wedding staple over here on the east coast. The brides of the west coat are lucky to have such a gem!

Val did my makeup as the bride along with my bridesmaids. When we did the makeup trial, she listened to everything I wanted. She recreated my makeup trial look PERFECTLY. She arrived on time and she was reasonably priced. She is EXTREMELY skilled in cosmetology and has the cleanest tools and setup. Not only did my makeup look AMAZING, but it lasted the ENTIRE night! I couldn't have asked for a better makeup artist for one on the biggest days of my life! I would recommend Val to every bride I know!

Val was everything that I could have wanted in a hair stylist for my wedding day, and more! Her positive attitude was infectious and her great sense of humor helped me to really relax and laugh on my big day. She understood exactly what I wanted with my hair, which was a very vintage looking finger waves effect for my New Years Eve wedding. My hair stayed in tact the whole evening, through many hours of dancing, all the way to midnight. I couldn't be happier!!

She did an awesome job. Arrived at the hotel exactly when she said she would and gave my mother, my sister and myself the hair and makeup looks that we had wanted. Hair and makeup lasted the entire day and night and she made the getting ready process so easy and stress free. Anyone in Boston, greater Boston or MA area definitely should contact Val for wedding needs.
