New Orleans native Tyron “Bogey” Thornton and the talented troubadours of The Viceroy ply their trade with much derring-do. Covering classic soul and R&B from every era along with retro rock/pop and on to today's dance party hits and chart-toppers, Bogey & the Viceroy performances lead to packed dance floors and good times!
Best known for upbeat Dance party music, Bogey & the Viceroy can provide versatile entertainment options for just about any setting. Most performances feature an 8-piece band with a horn section and female backing vocalist, but on certain occasions, we bring our sporty compact model - The Bogey & the Viceroy 5 - featuring Bogey and the rockin’ rhythm section.
Having performed for hundreds of couples over the last 10 years, we know how to help you celebrate your Big Day! Weddings are where Bogey & the Viceroy really shine, with poignant special dance moments, high energy dance sets, perfect timing and event flow, and the experience and dedication to make this the best party you two will ever throw!
Bogey is an expert at handling emcee duties, getting out among the guests, reading the room to play what they want to hear, and keeping the dance floor full. We’re always happy to learn a few special requests if there is a tune you don't see listed in our ever-expanding repertoire of "Swanky Soul to Rock n Roll".

There were many things that made our wedding day the most special of our lives, but there were two things that stick out more than any other: the people and the band. We couldn’t imagine our wedding day without Bogey and the Viceroy. They truly made the event the best of our lives, and we would recommend them to anyone and work with them again in a heartbeat.
Bogey and the team have incredible range and know how to read a crowd, which makes them the perfect band for any situation (Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, Otis Redding, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, & Aretha Franklin were some faves). In our case, they recognized our crowd was very high energy so they kept pace accordingly. It resulted in my wife, and me, and our guests not leaving the dance floor all night. If your crowd is more subdued, they’d be able to adjust accordingly as well.
They were very easy to work with and their band manager, Catherine, was incredibly professional. She was responsive, timely, and detailed. Catherine was super transparent so our reality was aligned with our expectations. We had the ability to check the band out prior to the wedding, and we had multiple phone calls discussing playlists, music preference, and theme. Personal time was taken to ensure we had exactly what we needed.
We’ve been a part of many weddings in Atlanta over the years, and we’ve witnessed a lot of great bands…but none compare to Bogey and the Viceroy.

ceroy added the kind of energy you want for any type of celebration! They learned and practiced a few songs were requested which was very nice too. they have some wonderful slow songs for the dinner hour as well. Beautiful vocals!!!!
