Misti and Colin, the husband and wife team behind Bohemia, are award-winning wedding photographers with studios based in two locations, Playa del Carmen, Mexico and Los Angeles, California. They happily travel around the world. Their style has been described as bright, colorful and authentic. They strive to combine elements of fine art photography mixed with candid photojournalism. They also specialize in underwater trash the dress sessions and destination weddings.
They live in the Mayan Riviera of Mexico as the area’s top wedding photographers, with a lot of time spent in sunny California where they can enjoy the comforts of home like Amazon Prime, real butter and good hair days. They love what they do, but more importantly they love working with the people they meet.

Secrets Akumal. I found them while scrolling through Instagram because I had no idea where to begin the photographer search in Mexico. I was drawn to every photo I saw and immediately reached out. While booking, Bohemia Photography was super flexible and easy to work with. We didn’t know how long we wanted photographers there so they allowed us to add hours whenever we wanted. We ended up adding multiple hours and we are so glad we did.
On the big day, Misti and Collin were the best to work with. Their presence was extremely calming and they knew exactly how to get all of the great shots of us. I am very uncomfortable in front of a camera. They also helped organize our wedding party and family to make sure everyone was where they needed to be and when at the resort. When we got our sneak peaks back, our jaw literally hit the floor. The pictures are STUNNING. I am still in disbelief that they are of us. Once we got all of our photos back there quite honestly isn’t a bad photo out of hundreds of photos we got. We absolutely loved working with Misti and Collin and would do it 100 times over again.

hedule. They made the family/bridal party photos super efficient so that we could still get all the photos we wanted and our family and friends could still enjoy the cocktail hour after. My husband and I are not really comfortable in front of a camera but Misti and Colin made things feel so natural and even fun! We got so many compliments on our photos and we couldn't be happier with the results.

s. They are so easy going, funny, and incredible at finding that perfect shot where the light is shining just right. I was amazed at how they were willing to climb up to heights, get down into the water, and position themselves for awesome angles that made our pictures really unique and never washed out or over filtered/processed. What we got in the pictures was a result of their skill and was as if reliving the sunsets firsthand. They were always simple, casual, and personable- never intrusive, bossy, or in the way. They are a great team and it was fun to see how they play off each other to set up the staged shots and model for us before it was our turn. Our decision to go with BohemiaDelMar was easily one of the best we made as the value, quality, and personal touches they added should make it a no-brainer for anyone else looking for photographers. The images we received afterwards were numerous, all nicely corrected, authentic, and high quality originals with plenty of ways to download and share. We truly enjoyed our time with them and hope to see them around the South Bay more!

ble. So now have so many great photos from our wedding, we are having a hard time picking out which ones to frame and put on display in our house. From the first moment I reached out to them for information, they made us feel special and were very detailed and fast in their responses. Leading up to the wedding I was very confident in our decision to hire them, communication was great. Meeting them on the wedding day was proved me right. They were very organized and provided us great direction during the day to ensure we had all the photos we wanted, and more. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how wonderful they were to them as well at the wedding. They took all the traditional photos we needed and then found some amazing creative shots to take as well. They work so well together and have a very nice eye for what would make a great photo. We chose to do the Trash the Dress option as well, which I would highly recommend! Not only was it a super fun day with Misti & Colin taking the shots, the pictures were amazing. Our friends and family can't stop talking about how incredible the photos are, so different then your traditional wedding photos. I honestly could go on and on about how amazing our photos are and how great they are to work with. I would recommend them to anyone. They truly care. Thank you again Misti & Colin!

pful. They even helped us find our DJ in the area who was also awesome! We felt like Misti and Colin were the best photographers in the Playa del Carmen area. Having two photographers there on the big day was so nice because they were each able to get pictures of really important details that might have been missed had it just been one photographer there. For instance, while everyone was dancing and Misti was getting our pictures on the dance floor, Colin went outside and arranged a beautiful photo opp among the lit-up palm trees at nighttime. He was able to then grab us to take a really amazing shot that we will cherish forever. When my husband and I were taking our couple pictures, they offered guidance with our posing and what would look best with the lighting. We also liked that they only did wedding photography and no other services like videography because it allowed them to really focus on making the pictures the best they could be. Planning a wedding in Mexico from the USA is a difficult process and it was made much easier with these two providing their insight along the way. We would recommend these two over and over again!
