Highly recommend!! Could not have picked a more lively band for our wedding! Our biggest dream wedding would be a wedding with a packed dance floor- our wedding was that and more with Boom! The second the transition song from my father/daughter dance changed the dance floor was packed the entire night! Danny and the entire band knew exactly how to work the crowd at our wedding. Danny was also amazing to work with prior to the wedding- he met with us in person before our event and was extremely personable and open to all of our requests! They are even thrilled about and willing to learn new songs just for your event! So happy we found Boom! Thanks to Danny and the entire band for making our wedding a dream!
Boom STL made our wedding reception!! My husband and I agreed that it was our favorite part of our reception. They were absolutely AMAZING! The only problem I had was that they never once played the piano during dinner. My venue even brought in a baby grand piano for them to play but I never saw them use it.
Boom was ABSOLUTELY awesome. We hired them for our wedding reception May 27, 2017. We had just over 300 guests and a 5 hour reception, and from the second the music started until the the very very end of the night we had a packed dance floor. I requested they do no "line dances" like the electric slide or cha cha slide and they respected or wishes. We paid for the full band (with horns) and it was so worth it. I wouldn't change a thing. We also asked for a mix of old and new songs and they did a great job feeling out the crowd and keeping everyone dancing. The full band played for 4 hours and during dinner we paid for them to play the piano for an hour, I think it added such a classy touch that people really enjoyed. Thank you BOOM! The night was perfect. So many of our guests have asked for your information, they all had a blast too and said our reception was the best they've ever been to thanks to you guys!!
Boom played at our wedding reception in May. They were wonderful! I was telling my husband that I really think choosing Boom was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Everyone had so much fun! There were people dancing until the last song! I expected them to be good but I was shocked at how awesome they really were. Guests came up to me all night and complimented me on how great the band was. They went out of their way to make me happy. Due to forecast of rain we had to set up the party indoors. I really wanted our first dance to be outside. So on no notice they performed my first dance song acoustic so it could be done outside. I really appreciate them doing that for me. I would so recommend them to anyone! They will make your night a great party! They kept the dance floor full all night! My dad also commented on how professional they were. Book them! You won't regret it!
We used Boom for my daughter's wedding and could not have been happier. The dance floor was full the entire night with people from multiple generations. Several of our guests had not previously been to a wedding with a band, and all commented on how much fun the band helped make the evening.
They were a great band and everyone had so much fun dancing the night away with them! I will say they were not very good at communication leading up to the wedding. I would have to email and call and leave voicemails multiple times before I got a reply. That was a little frustrating especially for a busy bride trying to finalize everything. But other than that, they were great as a band!
On May 5, 2016 @ 10:22am I sent the Boom this email and have not heard a response since doing so. If you are a highly detailed and organized bride or groom, I would pass to find a band that has more time to work with you on your details. If you are a bride or groom that is more go with the flow and not as concerned about the day of details, the band sounds great. After sending this email, I did also recall one other disappointment in the bands offerings. They claimed that they would learn approximately 5 or less songs if needed. We asked for them to learn 2 songs, one for our first dance in which they did play. The other I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, the band simple pressed play on an iPod the night of for this song. We would have been ok with them not learning this if they would have told us a head of time.
Hi Danny (band manager) and Theresa (band assistant):
Thank you both for your services prior to and during our wedding on April 16, 2016. The band sounded fantastic and we received several compliments about the bands musicality. While the band did sound amazing I do have some comments I would like to share as I will be including them in my reviews online. Prior to me posting my comments to the world in online format, I felt that it would be most professional to share these with you directly.
First, [my husband] and I were disappointed in the fact that no one was playing the piano during our dinner hour from 6-7pm. This "free" piano hour was included in our initial contract and also denoted in the details I emailed on March 8th underneath the heading 'Reception Timeline Information'. Secondly, we were also disappointed in the fact that 'Parent Dance' was announced prior to [my husband] and I giving our speech. I also denoted that this dance was a surprise for our parents and that Tim and I would be giving a speech prior to them dancing. Having 'Parent Dance' announced took some of the "shock and ah" value out of our surprise. Lastly and probably most importantly, we did not feel that our play/do-not play song list was follow. We sent our list of songs on February 23rd as well as on March 8th. Songs that were on the do not play (ex. Forget You and Sweet Caroline) were played. Further more songs that were MUST PLAYS were either played very late in the night or were not played at all (ex. of not played; Too Close, Ain't too Proud to Beg, No Diggity, etc.) In addition, [my husband] made special requests throughout the night as well as my mom making special requests. I am aware that not all requests can be honored throughout the night by each person, however we already felt that our song list was not being honored in addition to my families special requests not being met.
Again, I think the band sounded amazing and overall everyone had a great time. However, in knowing how much time, energy, and money goes into planning a wedding, I was optimistic that my thorough and timely details would be followed and unfortunately I felt that Boom fell slightly short of those expectations.
We wish Boom the best of luck in their future events to come!
If you want a band to get EVERYONE on the dance floor and have a good time, then book BOOM! They were high energy and made the entire party have a wonderful time. I would NOT hire a DJ because you will not get the same energy that you get from a band, especially BOOM! They are the best wedding band around and you will not find another band like them! They were also very reasonably priced and fit right into our budget! Thanks BOOM!
I started discussing having Boom play our wedding over a year in advance. From the beginning, Danny (the band leader and manager) was difficult to get in touch with, but via email and text he assured us that our date was available. We attended another event he was playing and briefly discussed with him again our date. I sent him an email to confirm that we'd like him to play, but asked we talk on the phone to discuss details. He never replied. I again requested to talk on the phone and he agreed on a time, but at the time I was set to call him texted to say his "manager" had booked the date without him knowing. My subsequent phone call and texts were not returned.
It may have been the case that a popular date was booked, but I would stay away from Boom solely based on their poor communication. Agreements you thought you had with the band are apparently meaningless, and Danny's follow through is non-existent. I suppose I should feel lucky I didn't rely on this band to play such an important event, but now we are again starting from scratch to find a band for a popular date, having already turned down offers from other (more organized and professional) bands. Poor look for Boom. Good musicians who could use more professional communication.
BOOM goes the dynamite. This band is incredible and kept people on the dance floor all night! Fredbird stopped by our wedding and BOOM was playing a song but then seamlessly changed to "Celebration" when he entered the room. They have a very expansive playlist where they can play all of the wedding go-to's but top 40 as well. I honestly cannot say enough about this band and we received so many compliments. Thank you BOOM for making our wedding that much better!!
These guys really know how to get even the most reluctant wedding guests dancing! Fantastically talented, with a great repertoire of classics and modern hits, and a great energy that keeps the crowd entertained long after a DJ would have put them to sleep. And beyond being great musicians and entertainers, the folks from Boom are professionals who’ll do anything to make their customers happy—like learning new material for our first dance and letting us take the mics to sing the last song. These guys made our wedding the event we had always dreamed of! But take our advance, get the horns! They were worth every penny!
If you want your dance floor packed from the first song to the last, choose Boom as your wedding band. All anyone could talk about after the wedding was how great the band was and how packed the dance floor was. Boom had played at two weddings prior to ours that we had been to, so we already knew how great they were. Great band at an unbeatable price; they even throw in a complimentary hour of piano playing during dinner. They play current hits as well as wedding classics. I'm a very picky person, but I don't have one bad thing to say about this band; my only regret is not booking them for an extra hour!
BOOM has been a band used not only for our wedding, but for many friends. Each and every time, they truly bring a great vibe to the reception! They all have great voices and play a wide range of songs. They really know how to get the party going!
Boom is amazing! We booked them after experiencing Boom at a friends wedding and we were so impressed that we booked them as soon as we got engaged - even before the venue, church, etc! We knew we had to have them as part of our day! They are so talented and set the tone for the wedding. Their energy is amazing-they keep the crowd up and dancing all night long! They also were able to learn songs specifically for our first dance and my father daughter dance - that was so amazing! They are by far the best wedding band out there so if you're thinking about booking - don't hesitate!
Boom is very fun and energetic! The get the wedding party involved and everyone loves dancing to their music! My family has used their services twice!
The music was great. They learned new songs for us and had people up and out of their seats all night dancing and singing along -- in fact, one of my favorite memories from our reception is when I was standing on the dance floor surrounded by my family and friends and ever single person was singing along with "Don't Stop Believing" belting at the top of their lungs with smiles on their faces -- it was great!
The one thing I will say I didn't like is that Boom was hard to get in touch with. They didn't return phone calls or emails very well and I was worried about getting everything planned and organized before the reception, but they pulled it together at the end! The other thing is that they wanted to finish their set when we wanted to cut the cake. Several people were asking for cake and no matter how many times we talked to the band or no matter who talked to the band, they wouldn't stop playing! And when they did take a break, it lasted a while. In all, they performed well, but it wasn't the smoothest experience planning wise.
All I have to say is at the end of my reception - all of my guests were on the dance floor stomping their feet and chanting "ONE MORE SONG, ONE MORE SONG!!!!" They were amazing and SOOOOO much fun.
The dance floor was packed the entire reception!! I couldn't have asked for more!
We received so many compliments on Boom! They kept the dance floor packed the whole night and played the songs requested. The only thing that lacked was communication - some of the things I asked them for did not happen. One of my ideas was not able to work and I didn't find out until the reception. Also, even though I provided them with phonetic spellings of the bridal party names, they still messed some up as well as not announcing two of my ushers. If it weren't for those issues, they would have received five stars from me.
