It has always been my dream to get married at Boone Hall. As soon as my soulmate asked me to marry him, we reached out a couple days later and locked in our date! We had the most perfect 75 degree day in the beginning of May, jasmine and magnolias in peak bloom in the lowcountry...the perfect coastal breeze swept across our ceremony under the low lying limbs of the famous avenue of oaks, and our reception at the Cotton Dock completed our vision of nostalgic romance meets botanic "notebook" moment. We worked with Peper Events of Natalie Knox went out of her way to make herself available and the most helpful for any and all questions or concerns I had in planing a destination wedding. We will always be in disbelief of our literal dream day, with Allie's house and the breathtaking oaks as our backdrop to our wedding day (cue the tears, again!)
My husband, William, and I got married at Boone Hall Plantation in July! And it was a dream, our summer beneath the trees. I’ve always loved all things Southern while being a romantic and my favorite movie is the Notebook, so naturally it was the venue we wanted. It was a must our two pups be apart of our whole wedding weekend and the Plantation being dog friendly sealed the deal! Between our ceremony under Avenue of Oaks and our reception at the Cotton Dock - it was everything and more. And the Plantation is simply breathtaking! It was timeless and classic, there is so much beauty. We will always cherish the sweetest moments from our most special day at Boone Hall Plantation.
This was the most beautiful setting we could have every pictured for our wedding.
Boone Hall is such an iconic Charleston staple, not to mention an incredible venue. From the rustic indoor space to stunning on the water views, Boone Hall is the perfect location for all occasions. Natalie, the Sales & Events Director, is such a pleasure to work with. She truly cares about her clients and the overall integrity of the venue. She will do everything in her power to ensure the needs of clients and vendors are met and exceeded! We adore working with the Boone Hall team and know our clients are always in great hands.
Great venue - parking was a little challenging but they were great in helping people with their shuttle. Right on the water - great food and fun!
The perfect place for a wedding. Breathtakingly beautiful and the trees give you a serene backdrop for a special day. The way the grass blows in the wind by the water is so peaceful and gives it that southern charm. The drive down the avenue of oaks is one guests will remember for ever. Not to mention the most perfect place for first look and bridal pictures.
Joe and I got pretty lucky with Boone Hall Plantation! We live in Maryland, but frequent the Charleston area. When we got engaged in the low country, we knew we wanted to share our love for the area with friends and family on our wedding day. Our goal in a venue was that is “oozed Southern Charm.” I don’t think Boone Hall Plantation could hit the nail on the head any better. Driving down the avenue of oaks gave the wow factor we wanted for our guests, and the Cotton Dock was just a perfect backdrop for our wedding.
With Boone Hall you bring in everything, tables, linens, catering, etc. I absolutely loved that ability to make the ceremony/reception setting truly our own. It made my detail oriented heart quite happy to have every single detail be exactly the way I wanted.
We worked with Natalie at Boone Hall as our day of coordinator. She was wonderful! Even though she didn’t take over until the month before the wedding, she was always quick to answer any questions throughout my planned process, and I felt like I asked a million. In the weeks leading up to the wedding she helped complete my vision and planning into reality. On the day of the rehearsal so guided us efficiently through our rehearsal. On the day of the wedding she, with her assistant, executed everything flawlessly. They were incredibly prompt and made sure everything went off without a hitch. Our family commented on how amazing she was and they were extremely impressed with her.
Thank you so much BHP and Natalie for the huge role you played in making our wedding absolutely amazing. It’s been a month since our wedding, and people are still talking about how great it was. We couldn’t be happier with Boone Hall Plantation for our wedding day.
Just held my daughter's wedding and reception at the Cotton Dock on 2/9/19. It was absolutely beautiful and Natalie did an amazing job of arranging and directing the various vendors and worked with them on all the planning. It was my daughters dream wedding and she was so happy with the way everything went. It was so nice for us not to have to worry about the wedding details that we were able to spend the few days prior to the wedding welcoming out of town family and friends to town and having meals and visiting with them. Highly, highly recommend
Boone Hall Plantation is the most beautiful place! When I moved here from NYC and visited Boone Hall- I knew when I got married that was the ONLY place I could picture my big day. You literally cannot take a bad photo here- from the Avenue of Oaks, the plantation home, The Cotton Dock and The Gardens- you have such a variety of backdrops to pick from. There is a reason this is a favorite in Charleston and it is seriously worth it. Our wedding day could not have been more beautiful thanks to the beautiful grounds here!!!
The most breathtaking place to get married! Honestly, there is no such thing as a bad photo of this place. It can be stressful as the entire process is treated as "a la carte", but get yourself a full wedding planner (MICHAEL WINSHIP) and everything will go smoothly! This venue is about the small details, keep the wedding and decorations simple and let the natural beauty of the venue do the real talking! Having my wedding here was the best decision I have yet to make ( even before saying yes!) Haha!
We had our ceremony and reception at the Cotton Dock and loved everything about it. We live in Texas but wanted our Texas friends and family to be able to experience the southern charm of the plantation. Everyone agreed this venue was perfect. Natalie was also very helpful and quick to respond to emails!
My husband and I got married at Boone Hall. The location is amazing! We got married on the front lawn and had our reception on the cotton dock. The cotton dock comes as a blank slate which allowed us to make our reception vision come to life. Natalie was awesome and always quick to respond to messages/questions. Everyone loved the fact that we got married at "the notebook house" too :)
Natalie at Boone Hall was absolutely amazing and we could not have had a better wedding experience! She was so sweet, extremely knowledgeable, quick to respond and was able to make our dreams come true! I HIGHLY recommend her as she is the best in the business!!!!
The Cotton Dock and Boone Hall Plantation are absolutely breath taking! It has the perfect southern charm. We couldn't be happier with how our April wedding turned out. That also has to do with Natalie Knox at Boone Hall. We had her as a full time coordinator and couldn't be happier! My fiancé and her bonded over UGA and she was the sweetest ever. I can honestly say that my wedding was my dream come true! Thank you Boone Hall and Natalie Knox!!!!
Natalie Knox is incredible. From the moment we stepped on the property for the first time, we were welcomed with her warm presence and smile. We were deciding between a few different venues, but were sold by the beauty of Boone Hall that overwhelms you as soon as you enter the property. We also loved the flexibility that came with Boone Hall. Boone Hall allows you to decide your budget whereas many other venues have minimums. Natalie and the team at Boone Hall were incredibly flexible and accommodating from the beginning. We decided to use Natalie's planning services and couldn't be happier with our decision. She guided us on what vendors to select and was always so on top of everything. We actually had to postpone our wedding because of Hurricane Matthew, and Natalie was so kind and helpful throughout the process. The wedding day far exceeded all of my expectations and the planning process was incredibly smooth - Natalie truly made all the difference. We couldn't be happier with having chosen Boone Hall.
We had our entire wedding at the Cotton Dock; Ceremony on the dock, cocktail hour on the patio, and dinner inside the dock house. Many of our guests had never been to Charleston and we thought this would be the quintessential Charleston wedding venue... Beautiful marsh views, whimsical oak trees with spanish moss, large space and still private.. It was above and beyond our vision. We knew we had a big bit of planning ahead of us with a "bare bones" venue and that is EXACTLY why we loved it! Every single detail our guests saw was handpicked and designed by us. The location is just incredible, not only for the privacy, but also for the jaw dropping views and phenomenal photo opportunities. I cannot say enough good things about this place other than it is heaven on earth. We are so happy with how beautiful our wedding turned out, largely thanks to this beautiful place. THANK YOU!!!
We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful wedding! We're from California and having Natalie Knox as our wedding planner was the best choice (after the venue, of course). Ceremony was on the Front Lawn and our reception was at the Cotton Dock. The night was amazing, and the pictures came out just stunning! Gorgeous location.
This venue is without a doubt, beyond gorgeous. It has jaw dropping beautiful, and I loved it from the moment I laid eyes on it. For the most part, our experience was very good but I did have an issue during out ceremony with a tourist walking behind us during our vows, and knocking on the door of the plantation, like there wasn't a 175 person wedding going on in front of them. It was disruptive, and rude, which in a way is not Boone's fault as it is open to tourists for tours, but when you pay THAT MUCH MONEY to rent a space for a 15 minute ceremony, I expect that a tour be held later or not at all during that time period. The amount of money made of the tour in now way can compare to what I paid for the space, or for my vendors, and I have a tourist BANGING on the door to the plantation in my wedding video, in my photos, and in my memory. Not only did someone answer the door, they also spoke to them and let them in. Very very disheartening for a bride. Other than that incident, I loved my day from start to finish and people loved the plantation. I used the cotton dock for my reception, and everyone talked about how unique of a space it was! The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, and it truly has a magical feel to it. Just wish that my ceremony could have been uninterrupted, as my vows were important, and the disruption not only distracted us, but our guests.
Natalie Knox did an incredible job arranging for our wedding to be held at the Cotton Dock. Everything went so smoothly. I do wish we were informed that there would be people there that day. Our wedding was after tour season, and yet, there were tons of people and cars there. Other than that, it was perfect.
My husband and I chose Boone Hall Plantation for our wedding on 5/17/15. To say it was a fairy tale wedding is completely an understatement. Boone Hall is breathtaking and it was the perfect setting for our destination wedding. We couldn't be happier with this venue and can't wait to go back for years to come to relive the memories!
We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding reception! Boone Hall Cotton Dock is absolutely beautiful and the Avenue of Oaks is the perfect backdrop for amazing pictures! I loved that the Cotton Dock was a "blank canvas" that we were able to transform into something so unique and that it offered both indoor and outdoor spaces. Despite having 250 guests in the middle of January, the Cotton Dock was not overcrowded or uncomfortably cold. In addition to being a wonderful venue, Boone Hall boasts a spectacular venue manager/coordinator. Natalie was an absolute pleasure to work with and made the entire planning process and our wedding day hassle-free. I would highly recommend booking your wedding here and hiring Natalie to assist with all the details!
We used the Cotton Dock for our wedding ceremony and reception. The venue is beautiful and well-maintained. The barn is a total blank slate, so you are able to customize every detail to your liking, however it can add up quickly because no kitchen or rentals (tables, chairs, etc.) are included in the rental price of the facility. They do allow you to bring in vendors of your choice, so you can shop around to stay within your budget. I definitely recommend taking advantage of the optional golf cart service they can provide for an additional fee. The parking lot is a bit of a walk when guests are in nicer clothes. There isn't a really good spot for brides to get ready (they offer the bathroom area that is also used by all plantation visitors), so you would want to plan to get ready off-site. The grounds, of course, are gorgeous and provided a beautiful backdrop to get dressed. We lucked out on our June weather, especially since we got married on Friday the 13th and have stunning pictures from our day!
So many gorgeous areas to choose from!!!
