We hired Boonzaaijer Bakery for our October wedding. When we first came and choose a cake and did tasting, we were told at the very end that they don't deliver on Sundays - the day...
of our wedding. We still booked with them and ended up picking it up the day prior and storing it ourselves. The cake itself tasted amazing and was just enough for all of our guests. The only disappointing part is that they refused to do a black cake. They said it is because black icing stains teeth, but this wasn't a concern of ours, just a concern of theirs. After going through the tasting and everything, we just gave in and did a white cake, which was fine since it was still delicious. Overall still a good choice, and they were relatively easy to work with.
This cake was amazing. I am still getting compliments on how good the cake was.
My fiance and I ordered our wedding cake in November to later have the ordered cancelled by the bakery three months later with no apology. When were called with the news that our w...
edding cake was cancelled, we were told the person that took our order "didn't know that they don't deliver on our wedding day" (a Sunday). No apology at all. I'm very disappointed that we invested time in selecting a cake, placed a deposit and had a confirmed order to later have our wedding cake order cancelled three months after. I understand mistakes happen, but the way it was handled with no apology, etc. is unacceptable.
Boonzaaijer is my go to bakery for any cake. They always taste amazing! My wedding cake was no different. They even delivered to our venue! The bakery was a pleasure to work with a...
nd got my wedding cake vision down pat. If you’re from Michigan, you can’t go wrong with this bakery. They are amazing!
Our wedding cake was simple and beautiful! Most importantly, it was delicious! Very happy with the outcome!
Cake was fantastic as we knew it would be! Boonzaijer cake was my husbands only stipulation in the wedding planning process!
Boonzaaijer Bakery has always been a family tradition, so I was excited to have them bake a cake for my wedding. That excitement quickly turned to disappointment with their poor c...
ommunication throughout the process and devastation when I cut into my cake on my wedding day and saw vanilla cake instead of the chocolate cake we thought we had ordered. When we confronted the bakery about it, they claimed that when I adjusted the cake order based on our final guest count I eliminated a half sheet cake that was chocolate, but they didn't make that clear to me. I didn't think that I had ordered any vanilla cake, so I really have no idea what they were talking about. I do not live in Kalamazoo anymore, so I had to work with them over phone and email. Not once did they send me a copy of the order or an invoice showing what was ordered and what the costs would be. I find this to be very unprofessional, and clearly it led to terrible miscommunications. My husband was the most upset by the vanilla cake and didn't even eat any besides the one bite for photos. Although our guests still thought it tasted good, we were extremely disappointed.
The cake was amazing! They were also wonderful to work with from out of state.
Our wedding cake was more than I ever dreamed it would be. Every single guest commented on how beautiful and delicious it was. We had an unconventional color scheme and Boonzaaijer...
s did such an amazing job bringing our vision to life.
Our cake was delicious! For our wedding we purchased a four tier cake, each layer a different flavor. The cake was larger than the recommended size for the amount of guest we had a...
ttending, however, guest loved it and we didn't have a single piece left at the end of the night! Out initial meeting with Boonzaaijer was a little rocky as the staff member we worked with was somewhat unsure of what decoration was possible. They called the day only two days before the wedding to confirm the details and we had to change the design slightly because the initial plan was "not possible." They did create a custom color frosting for our cake which turned out beautiful! Overall I would recommend their service to friends and family.
So delicious and very reasonable! Can't wait to use them again!
Some little girls dream about their wedding dress; I dreamed about my cake. I knew I wanted something different, but elegant, and Boonzaaijer's definitely brought my vision to life...

ake for the first time, they had done exactly what we had requested!
Not only was the cake decorated perfectly, but it tasted amazing! During August the bakery closes for a few weeks and unfortunately our wedding date happened to be during this time. We knew, however, that we really wanted their cake for our wedding so we ordered it anyways and froze the cake in our own freezer and thawed it 24 hours before the wedding. We were worried the cake wouldn't turn out, but we were excited to find that the cake tasted perfect!!
I totally recommend them for your wedding cake!
We were very happy with our wedding cake from Boonzaaijer. They listened to what we wanted and delivered a cake that exceeded our expectations. The flavors were delicious.
Brides cake was vanilla and the grooms cake was red velvet with raspberry. More people wanted the vanilla so I should have done the grooms cake in 1/2 and 1/2
Fantastic cake!
My cake was amazing as far as taste and quality however could have had more decorations

ure I found on the internet and they told me they couldn't do exactly what it was, but they would try to do it as close as possible. When it came, it was perfect- almost exactly like the picture. They don't charge extra for decorating, so the price you see on their website is what you get. They were great, I 100% recommend them.
Cake looked very pretty, but more importantly, it was delicious. I'm glad we had leftovers!
