the moment we visited, we knew it was exactly the setting we wanted.
The booking process was quick and easy, and working with Joe throughout planning was a great experience. Since it’s an active, working farm as well as a venue, Joe sometimes took a couple of days to respond—but he always did, and he was consistently helpful, kind, and professional. They provide a list of suggested vendors, which was super helpful because this is a completely DIY venue. That was a huge plus for me, since I wanted anything but a cookie-cutter ballroom wedding.
On the day of, Joe’s team—including his mom—were fantastic. They set up our tented reception exactly how I pictured it and even handled all the breakdown at the end of the night, which was such a relief. We wanted my husband’s classic car at the wedding because it’s played a big role in our lives, and Joe had zero issues with it. In fact, when we got stuck trailering it out the next morning, he literally helped us with his tractor! It doesn’t get more above-and-beyond than that.
I was a little nervous about the weather for a mid-October wedding, but somehow we landed one of the most beautiful days—right between two rainy weekends. And for any future brides wondering: yes, the reception tent is heated, which was great to discover!
All in all, Born to Run Farm was the wedding venue of my dreams, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering it. It’s unique, peaceful, flexible, and run by genuinely wonderful people. If you want a magical outdoor wedding that doesn’t feel like every other venue, this is the place.

Joe and his team were incredible throughout the day making sure everything was taken care of from the vendors to us getting ready at the house with the rainy weather. They made the entire process of planning a wedding much smoother and were able to help where needed. Their services day of were spot on and all of our guests were raving about the location. More importantly, the staff is hard working, pleasant, and infinitely accommodating. Joe especially works tirelessly to manage requests and details, and is available well in advance of the event date to make sure everything runs smoothly.
One recommendation: if your event is a wedding (or otherwise has a cocktail hour), make sure to time the cocktail hour around sunset. You won't be disappointed.

verything together for us. He was great with helping us coordinate vendors and on the day of the wedding putting it all together. The property is gorgeous! It truly was a dream wedding. We also have a lot of nieces, nephews, and friends with kids in our lives and wanted to include them in the wedding. The property is big enough that children can run around a play without constant supervision but not big enough that they'd get lost. large and open, and our photographer kept commenting how the space was so much better than a hotel for shooting getting ready photos because you're not so cramped in. The family that owns the place was so easy to work with, flexible and really there for anything we needed the day of. I loved how sweet they were. The animals are an added bonus and some guests were able to meet them. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and a lot of it had to do with the help from the venue staff, making sure we had everything we needed and I didn't have to worry about a thing.
