Peter and Marisa choreographed a fantastic first dance and entrance routine for us. Each week we built on what we learned before, and by the end of our lessons we went from complete beginners to incorporating a lift! I was skeptical that I would enjoy dance lessons, but wanted to make my bride-to-be happy. Peter’s sense of humor and patience made us both comfortable. We plan to take dance lessons with him again for a future date night!

Peter and Marisa made our first dance so memorable by choreographing not only our wedding song, but also a cute, short vignette for us to do as we walked in and were announced husband and wife. We were both self conscious about taking dance lessons, but Peter and Marisa put us both at ease. We ended up looking forward to our sessions and treated them like date nights and got all dressed up. If they can teach us to dance, they can teach anyone to dance. And you will have fun with their sense of humor and not taking it all too seriously. Highly recommend booking them - especially if you are an inexperienced dancer and want to feel comfortable.

Boston Ballroom was absolutely amazing. We worked with Marisa and Peter for our Wedding First Dance and they put together a STUNNING routine that was completely unique and personalized to our song and aesthetic of our wedding. All of our guests were in awe. Peter and Marisa brought a great, upbeat energy and were so fun to work with and patient in teaching us who were complete novices. They are both professional competitive dancers and would be able to work with anyone from novice to expert. My wife and I came away better dancers but most importantly with a stronger relationship and bond leading up to our big day. It was so fun and we would highly recommend Boston Ballroom to any couple.

Boston Ballroom, and more specifically Marisa, completely leveled-up our first dances on our wedding day. I cannot begin to describe how flexible, welcoming, focused, friendly, and accommodating Marisa was to our varied dance abilities and goals. In addition to the father-daughter and bride-groom first dance, we also had a family lesson with her so that everyone would feel comfortable on the dance floor. She is truly the best, 11/10 would recommend.

A HUGE thank you to Peter and Marisa for being such a big part of our wedding preparation! We were able to perform our first dance with confidence thanks to their coaching. Weekly lessons at Boston Ballroom definitely added to the anticipation/excitement for our wedding. My husband and I also did separate father of the bride/mother of the groom dance lessons with our parents, which made the experience extra special for them, too. My husband, my father, and my mother-in-law all tool varying levels of wedding dance lessons with Marisa and her and the studio was absolutely amazing! We laughed so much and had some pretty amazing memories made leading up to our big day. My husband was so hesitant doing lessons but after a small introduction lesson he felt so much more confident and felt better prepared to dance. None of us wanted to do that 'middle school shuffle" first dance. Our guests only had great things to say on our dancing! Highly recommend Boston Ballroom Dance Center!

We are so happy that we used Marisa and Peter for help with our first dance. My mom purchased a 6 pack of lessons for my husband and I prior to our wedding. We are so happy that she did. We met with Marisa and Peter about 2 months before our wedding and did 10 lessons to choreograph our first dance. Our first lesson was good as they were able to assess our skills and learning ability. My husband had no dance experience, but had done sports. We then were able to come up with a plan for our remaining lessons to learn our dance. We went in with the song Adele “One and Only” with the thought we would have the song cut to a shorter amount. Each week was such a good learning experience. Marisa was great in teaching my husband and I to dance, but was able to do so with our learning styles. We also switched off with Peter who helped with a lot of the choreography. It was great to have different perspectives and they truly work well together! We loved that we got a video each week of our dance in order to practice each week. Some weeks were a learning curve for each of us and it also taught us more about us as a couple. It was also nice to have an hour each week to not focus on the wedding and to do something fun! As we got closer to the wedding Marisa recommended that we not cut the song and do the full 6 minutes. I have to say about 2 weeks before the wedding we were not totally convinced, but she knew what she was doing! We are so glad that we did and the end result was AMAZING! Our friends and family were so stunned and couldn’t believe what we accomplished. People still mention our “Epic” first dance! Marisa even helped us with our intro to our first dance. Our dance moves even made for some great photos outside before and after the wedding! We cannot thank them enough for helping us make our day so special. I had wanted to try pre-wedding dance lessons but was extremely nervous it would look terrible and awkward because my fiance and I were sub-par dancers at best. We were first recommended to Boston Ballroom from a friend of a friend and that very first intro lesson, I laughed more than I had during any other wedding related task BY FAR! Peter and Marissa are a talented team with amazing energy and dance lessons quickly became our favorite part of wedding planning. They not only created us a custom, one of a kind incredible wedding dance (that had our wedding guests in tears, not an exaggeration) they also helped us choose and practice our entrance songs and mini entrance dance. They helped us think through "day of" details that we never would have thought of otherwise! Peter and Marissa offer a fun, yet also productive date night that we never knew we needed! I cannot give this team a high enough review, they truly were the biggest blessing in our wedding planning year.

Marisa and Peter are wonderful. My then-fiance and I were pretty nervous about our first dance, but Marisa designed a lovely routine to "Unchained Melody," which was a pleasure to learn with her and to practice leading up to the big day. Marisa made everything fun, comfortable and explained well to us nervous, non-dancers. We really appreciate all of her generous help and are overdue for a Friday night couples' dancing lesson ;). We blew our guests away with our first dance! I must have watched the video about 200 times already (and it's only been a week since our wedding). We had never taken dance lessons before going to Boston Ballroom Dance Center, but many of our guests said we looked like we should be on Dancing With the Stars!!

Peter and Marisa were both GREAT dance instructors! Both my husband and I aren't the best dancers, but they were patient and taught us so much! We were able to execute spins, dips, and lifts within only 6 dance sessions! So many of our guests complimented us on the dance after! They both are also super personable and helpful. Our car wouldn't start after one session, and Peter even came out to help us jump it! Thanks, Marisa and Peter!

Marisa and Peter are THE BEST! I can’t recommend them enough. They will put together a beautiful routine for you, will coach you with care and encouragement, and are completely flexible to your needs as a couple. Throughout our entire package of sessions, they always listened carefully and were able to make any adjustments we wanted. The dance is beautiful and we feel confident and excited! We had fun every session and both Peter and Marisa and genuinely caring people. They put you at ease so you don’t feel self conscious and they coach in a very encouraging way. We loved working with them and want to take other dance classes with them in the future!

I can't say enough great things about Peter and Marisa. They are truly the best. It's one thing to find great dance instructors who can turn an awkward dancer like me into a groom worthy of a first dance with his much more graceful bride. But it's another thing to find great dance instructors who are genuinely terrific human beings - people who care about you and your wedding as much as your own parents do! We did several sessions with Peter and Marissa, and they were worth every penny (not to mention they are also reasonably priced). Each session was judgement-free and a lot of fun. We made a ton of progress over the time we worked with them. By the end of it, they were even able to teach me a few moves that I could use on the dance floor during the rest of the wedding. Trust me - as someone who has avoided the dance floor with a passion his entire life, that was valuable! Peter and Marisa are one of a kind. They take a lot of pride in what they do, and my fiancee and I are so happy we found them.

We went to Boston Ballroom to learn our first dance knowing very little about dance, and Peter and Marisa were so great we’ve kept going to classes since. The wedding dance turned out perfect, and we’ve had an amazing time learning salsa, tango, cha-cha etc. since then!

Look no further for your wedding dance instructors. Marisa and Peter brought out the best in my wife and I as we learned to dance by encouraging us when we needed it most, challenging us to do better, and praising us for our progress. Our guests loved our first dance and were so surprised by how well we danced together. We still practice our dance and each time it brings us back to our wonderful wedding day. Boston ballroom was the best decision we made! We had so much fun taking our first dance lessons, wedding planning can be stressful and it was a great escape. We received so many compliments on our first dance :) can’t wait to go back for date nights!

10 years ago when my husband and I got married my in-laws took lessons with Marissa and Peter for our wedding. They have continued dancing for all those years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about Marissa and Peter. For our 10 year anniversary my husband and I decided to get back into dancing more regularly so we booked some private lessons with Marissa. Marissa took the time to talk to us and find out what we really wanted out of our dance lessons, which was to dance well in social situations (like at weddings and galas), not relying on a routine we had learned. With just two private lessons she had my husband leading me better into turns and cuddles than he has in over 12 years of us being together as a couple. She is so great at explaining and breaking down the moves! It also makes for a fun date night activity. We look forward to learning even more in our future dance lessons at Boston Ballroom and consider ourselves very lucky to have found Marissa and Peter at Boston Ballroom.

Where to begin...Peter and Marisa are some of the most incredible individuals you will ever meet. They took our song and choreographed the most amazing dance for my wife and I! My fiance(now wife) came to them with only two weeks left before our wedding asking if they could put together a couple of dance moves for us for our first dance. They not only showed us a few dance moves, they choreographed an entire song with only THREE SESSIONS!!! If it wasn't for their support, encouragement, and gregarious attitudes...I never would have been able to pull off such an awesome dance. They make you feel like you can accomplish anything...and I am no dancer, but on my wedding night I was! My family was in shock at some of the moves we pulled on the dance floor - they couldn't believe their eyes. Not only are you going to learn how to dance - you are going to have one of the best times doing it, and it never hurts to look good on the dance floor. :) Peter and Marisa - YOU ROCK!!!

Don’t wait a minute longer - get yourself to a group or private lesson ASAP! We truly cannot thank Marissa and Peter enough for choreographing our first dance. Our crash course of lessons leading up to our wedding were highlights of the whole planning process. Carving out a little time to spend together doing something fun (dancing!) was an amazing reprieve from the wedding planning madness. Having our “dance dates” before our big day were so much more than we expected. It relieve stress and reminded us how much fun we have together and how much we love each other - an important reminder amidst so many details and coordinating logistics of the wedding. Our first dance was such a highlight of the day for me and one piece of the day that I will remember and cherish forever. They taught us a dance we could learn in under 2 weeks and we were so comfortable doing it that we were really able to enjoy the moment. Enjoying the moment in our first dance was something we valued so highly that we originally planned not to have a choreographed dance because we didn’t want to be worried about the next move instead of enjoying the current one. Marissa & Peter really nailed it teaching us a dance that was within our abilities, yet just challenging enough and really wowed our guests!! Taking dance lessons with here was one of the best decisions we made in the whole planning process (next to deciding to get married in the first place!) 😊 We are looking forward to continuing our dancing dates for years to come!

My husband and I had never had experience with dance before, but Marisa allowed us to have fun and be comfortable with the process! My dad suggested taking lessons at Boston Ballroom Dance Center for our father/daughter dance to Tale as Old as Time, and it made for one of the standout moments of the wedding! Neither of us had ever danced before, and in 5 lessons Marisa had us waltzing comfortably to a fully choreographed routine! Her patience, thoughtful instruction, planning and dancing demonstrations enabled us to learn quickly while really enjoying ourselves. As a total novice, I was surprised how easy she made it all seem. I felt more and more confident after each lesson. Once my dad and I were familiar with the steps, Marisa’s husband, Peter (co-owner), also viewed our dance and added his own constructive critiques. This really made us shine. I feel like we completely lucked out by picking Boston Ballroom Dance Center. Marisa and Peter are such encouraging and kind instructors, it’s easy to forget that they are also two highly skilled performers with an impressive amount of accolades. Their professional training was evident by just how well they prepared us for our father/daughter dance. We were so pleased with our dance that we opted to add 3 more lessons in order to add some special finishing touches like a bow/courtesy combo (got to include it for Beauty and the Beast!). If you are considering dance lessons, it is worth it! It was special to spend time with my dad practicing something so meaningful before the wedding day. Our dance completely delighted our guests – they were literally oooing and ahhing – and it was by far the most instagrammed moment of the whole day. We spend several months taking private lessons at Boston Ballroom Dance Center in preparation for our wedding day. Between our first dance and respective parent dances we had a couple of different styles. Marisa and Peter flawlessly helped us to master dances in a way that made us feel comfortable and look flawless. No easy task there! We enjoyed our time learning and felt very comfortable bringing our parents in. Marisa and Peter work very hard to ensure you are getting your full value. You can rest assured they will never "up sell" or try to get you to purchase lessons that you do not need. For our own big day I panicked close to the date and Marisa was very kind in getting us in for a last minute lesson. She even went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with our entrance into the reception. This wasn't something I was even thinking about! As a wedding vendor myself I know how deeply important it is to invest in wedding vendors you can trust. Boston Ballroom Dance Center exemplifies all of the qualities I strive to give my own clients. I refer them with no hesitation. My husband and I continue to take group classes at this wonderful studio as frequently as my schedule will allow. If you're on the fence I highly advise you to come on and meet this wonderful team! You won't regret it!

We had so much fun surprising our friends and families with our choreographed first dance! Weeks of practice (although every lesson felt less like practice and more like a date night!) really paid off. Thank you, Marisa and Peter, for helping us create memories to last a lifetime.

I had done a number of ballroom dance lessons in the past, where my then-fiance hadn't tried dancing once. Peter and Marisa picked a style that was unfamiliar to both of us so we would be starting from a more equal place. Peter and Marisa are bundles of energy. They are honest about where you're doing well and where you need work, and they can give you feedback in such a fun and hilarious way. We were challenged every class, but never given anything that we couldn't handle. Our guests are still raving to us about how much they were impressed by our dance, and how amazing we looked. We're hoping to attend their Friday group classes in the future to keep learning new things together.

Boston Ballroom was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and fun to work with. Neither of us had any prior dance experience and we were able to have a full choreographed first dance for our wedding that was a huge hit of the day. Our lessons were so phenomenal and so well taught that we were prepared to finish our dance even when we forgot some of the moves during the excitement of our day. We cannot thank Boston Ballroom enough for all their help and giving us confidence on the dance floor!

We had a great experience working with Marisa and Peter for our first dance! We loved being able to work with each of them throughout the course of our lessons because we were able to receive suggestions and advice from both a male and female perspective. Peter and Marisa had an unfortunate event that temporarily impacted their ability to dance. They didn't let this get in the way of us reaching our goals, however. They went out of their way to contact us despite what was going on in their lives and made sure we were able to finish our dance and that we felt comfortable with the service they provided. We were both very nervous going into this because neither of us have any dancing experience and we were intimidated by the idea of dancing in front of all our friends and family at our wedding. Peter and Marisa, however, did a fantastic job offering well placed constructive criticism and consistently encouraging us to keep working and practicing. They were very supportive and listened when we didn't feel comfortable with particular moves. We could tell that they put a lot of effort into creating a dance routine that was tailored to our personalities and comfort level. We received lots of cheers and compliments from our first dance and we truly had a lot of fun learning and performing it. If you're looking for a challenging, fun and engaging experience which results in a dance that really wows your guests, this is absolutely the place to go! Highly recommended.

I'm surprised there are so many good reviews here.... the owners (and only instructors, Marisa and Peter) are very nice at the beginning, and will continue to be nice only if you laugh at all of their jokes and keep your mouth closed. We wanted a fun date night type experience, but Peter was very malicious and harsh with criticism. When I called to speak with Marisa just to discuss a "problem I was having" she refused to call me back. She emailed me and asked me what it was regarding, and then stated that they were busy for the next four months and would not have time to talk over the phone. I did not even get to express my concern, and just let them know that we wanted to keep it light and fun, or just get a refund for the remaining classes. Marisa and Peter would not return calls, and therefore we did not get to finish out our dance package that we purchased. BEWARE of the contract they make you sign at the beginning on the first day when everything seems nice. It says in fine print that the package expires, and that they are allowed to terminate at any time. They act like this never happens, but I have heard of others having a bad experience here as well. Last time I searched them I saw other negative reviews and now they have disappeared. Makes me wonder... PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. They are very unprofessional and rude.

My husband and I had so much fun learning our first dance with Boston Ballroom. They really took their time to customize the dance to our song .Each lesson was more like a date night for us and we had so much fun learning the steps. Neither one of us are very good dancers and they went above and beyond to try to teach us an amazing first dance. We got so many compliments, everyone at our wedding loved our first dance!!! My fiance and I went to Boston Ballroom Dance Center because it was close to our house, but we ended up finding world class instructors right in our backyard. We had very little time (3 weeks) to practice our first dance for our wedding, and after only 3 sessions Marisa was able to get two very clumsy people dancing in a totally lovely and non-embarrassing routine. With just a few days to go until our wedding, we feel so much more confident going into our first dance. To top it off, Marisa is also hilarious and had us cracking up the whole time. I highly recommend them for any and all of your dancing needs!

Peter and Marissa worked mostly with my husband and his mother for their first dance and did an amazing job. They also worked with my husband and I and I would recommend their services to anyone who wants to take dance lessons, from basic to more advanced.

Marisa and Peter are fantastic teachers! They will make you into the most graceful couple on the dance floor for your wedding day. Over the course of a few months we went from clumsily tripping over ourselves, to smoothly spinning around the dance floor with dips in-between. We had our guests on their feet cheering and clapping for our first dance! We truly loved our lessons, and really looked forward to practicing our dance every week. They made the process really fun, and the end result was beautiful! Boston Ballroom Dance Center is the place to go before your wedding!

We did 2 dance lessons with Marissa at Boston Ballroom Dance Center and they were fantastic. We have no experience dancing, and my husband is very self-conscious about dancing, but with those two lessons we were able to put together a routine that we practiced at home, leading to a first dance that everyone raved about. My mother, who did not approve of us spending money on dance lessons, was almost in tears, saying, "Now I understand why you wanted dance lessons!!" Unfortunately we could not afford the whole dance course recommended for weddings (it's affordable, but we had a lot of financial pressure from other directions, and this ended up being cut), I can't imagine how amazing we could have been! Highly recommended. (Note: please make sure you go to Boston Ballroom Dance Center, NOT Ballroom in Boston!!)

Erik and I started to take dance lessons in June and our wedding was in October. Marissa and Peter were a fabulous team. We had such a great time learning our dance and they gave us a lot of confidence in our skills. We plan to continue dance lessons in the future!!

We took lessons here before our wedding and it was our favorite part of wedding planning! We worked with Lilia - she was great - fun, made you feel confident, my parents even started taking lessons with her after we were raving about them. We took lessons for a few months and learned a few different dances. It helped a lot since I took my shoes off before our first dance, which made my dress sweep the floor a little bit and the foxtrot a bit harder. Luckily we had learned enough different steps to just do other things! We both felt more comfortable having taken the lessons - it's a little weird to have everyone staring at you all day for your wedding. I think we were both glad to get some practice - helps calm some of those nerves.

We got the private lessons to learn a choreographed dance for our first dance. We had a lot of fun during the lessons and we not only learned an amazing and fun dance, we also gained the confidence to dance in front of all our family and friends. I highly recommend this to all couples!

Marisa and Peter were the perfect dance teacher. They were very encouraging and patient to the beginners. They allowed students to learn in their own pace and never rushed the progress but still helped students to look beautiful. They were also good at design the unique dance for different couples, fathers & daughters, mothers & sons. I had never danced before and they recommended me to start with the group classes. It really helped to build the foundation and to know the basic of dancing, e.g. how to invite the lady, how to follow the man, how to stand... The group classes helped to build me up and so my husband and I could do different styles of dance. My husband and I had so much fun with dancing that we decided to continue the learning. Therefore, we are still going to the dance classes with Marisa and Peter.

We cannot say enough about Boston Ballroom Dance Center! Peter and Marissa are amazing! We went with no dance experience and they make learning to dance so much fun. They choreographed a dance for us from scratch but taught in a way that you learned different dances and used what you learned to build your dance. The way they teach allows you to learn various steps and dances that you can use outside of your first dance. We are going to continue going to classes as our new hobby for fun, its a great activity to do together and get out during the week.

Marissa and her husband were welcoming. They helped us have a formal but casual 1st dance in short time. Would definitely return for a date night!

Marisa and Peter, the owners, are incredible! My husband and I had never taken dance lessons ever in our life and we weren't sure what to expect. There was confusion on our part in terms of the dance studio, confusing it with another local studio on the same street. When we walked into the wrong dance studio (which was cold, dark and the people there were unfriendly) we thought "oh gosh, this is going to suck!" But we were RELIEVED when we found our way to BBDC where Marisa and Peter welcomed us with open arms. They are hysterical and really got to know us, our personalities and our style of dance. They created our first dance song, practiced with us, provided feedback and really helped us to nail it at our wedding. It was a huge success! And our fears of dance lessons were quickly gone when we realized how fun it was. It brought us closer together. It uncovered skills we didn't realized we had and we had a blast! I recommend BBDC for not only 1st wedding dances but also dance lessons in general. Marisa and Peter are the ones to thank for everything and we are so grateful we found them!
